Muslim Cleric Shows Respect for Religion by Burning Christian Bible

If there are two things that Muslims do really well, it’s burning churches and synagogues and showing respect for religion. In Cairo, the appropriately named Abu Islam, decided to go for a twofer by doing both at the same time and burning the Christian Bible. Christians immediately responded by besieging Muslim embassies and demanding that someone be beheaded for this.

Muslim cleric Abu Islam Burns the Holy Bible in front of thousands of Muslims at protest outside the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday, 9/11. His action was met with applause and anti-Christian cheers from the demonstrators. The cleric, before leaving the demonstration and getting into his car, told the crowds “next time I will urinate on it.”

Abu Islam holds another Bible and says: This is the book the dog Terry believes in, as well as those dogs with him the Egyptian Christians in America. Abu Islam: Today I can only TEAR IT APART. He starts tearing the bible and throwing the leaves towards the mob, amid chants of Allahu Akbar and “Khaybar, Khaybar, O Jews, the army of Mohammad is coming.”

It’s hard to say whether Abu Islam is under the impression that American Christians are Jews or that Muslims are so deprived of chants that they stick with the one they know. Since Muslim culture is deprived and Muslims have been known to call Americans, “Jews” both are possible.

Abu Islam: Salamu Aleycom (Peace be with you) and leaves, with mob chanting “Khaybar, Khaybar, O Jews, the army of Mohammad is coming.” “Governing, governing, O Koran.” “Coming, Coming O Islam.”

I like the peace. It makes him seem so peaceful and reminds us all that Islam truly is a religion of peace. Also death.

We breathlessly await President Morsi phoning Obama to apologize for this act of disrespect toward his religion while promising to prosecute Abu Islam. We also breathlessly await the flying pigs that will bear Morsi on an apology tour of the Christian world to say how sorry he is and ask the Christians to stop attacking Egyptian embassies.

One who is secure in their faith is not shaken or offended by such stupid antics.

"One who is secure in their faith is not shaken or offended by such stupid antics."

By Western standards of thought, you are correct. I guess in one sense you can say that no Muslim is secure in his faith because he is not allowed to think (and she is not allowed to say).

On the other hand, there are those Muslims are are "secure" in their position because Islamic supremacy advocacy and antagonism works for them politically. It is not necessarily about insecurity when they react like this. It is more cynical, especially for those who initiate the provocations… no, not the film makers!!!!!

The guy is crazy or he isn't really a Muslim. Muslims are expected to show respect to the Bible since the Bible also contains the word of Allah. As a Muslim, I completely condemn this man's disrespect of the Bible.

  • The Hammer

I keep thinking this is some kind of Mid-East sitcom. But not really given that they kill people. It is really hard to even understand the thought processes (I am being generous here) of Muslims. Does this guy realize that no one even cares that he burned a bible? I mean, sure, we might think it is rude and crass, but I don't feel an urge to go out and storm an Egyptian embassy.

Drones will soon replace the sky god Allah as a punisher. The Kafir will be turned into ashes after the drone fires its lightning bolts. Prisons will be empty and Mosques full of servants of Muhammad. The Imam will be busy firing missiles at infidels who have escaped punishment.

"In Cairo, the appropriately named Abu Islam, decided to go for a twofer by doing both at the same time and burning the Christian Bible. Christians immediately responded by besieging Muslim embassies and demanding that someone be beheaded for this."

This actually did happen in every single Christian theocracy throughout the globe today.

The Whitehouse reaction proves that it is not about respect, but about (giving Barak Hussein Obama the benefit of every possible doubt) nuisance management. When you are that transparent that you will allow foreign nationals to blackmail you, expect much more indefinitely until something significant changes the game.

OTOH, there could be more malice in his heart, but this is far, far beyond the person who managed to set so many precedents in his term as president. The citizens, the voters must now open our eyes and perform our only direct act possible for damage control: throw the bum out.

I see every possibility this politician will run for office in the EU, UN or some future globalist pseudo-government body.

"Abu Islam holds another Bible and says: This is the book the dog Terry believes in, as well as those dogs with him the Egyptian Christians in America. Abu Islam: Today I can only TEAR IT APART."

Kind of key to mention that "Terry" mentioned is Terry Jones, the virulently anti-Islam Floridian pastor who's been holding Qur'an-burning parties over the past few years and who's a promoter of the YouTube film that kicked all of this off. I mean, this entire thing's silly, but it's also an example of tit-for-tat retaliation: you burn our Qur'an, we'll burn your Bible.

This remains my favorite Qur'an burning attempt: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DDfAz0huTE
    "Dude, you HAVE no Qur'an!"

    • KathleenP

You misunderstand the obvious point of this piece, which is to show the appalling hypocrisy and double standard of these Muslims demanding "respect" for their religion when they have never, and will never, show it to any other religions. It's a two-way street. Terry Jones is a stupid ass, but the chicken of Islamic intolerance and disrespect came long before that particular egg.

      • Calliope

I just think this is a particularly stupid example to try and push the idea that there's a double standard – the reason Abu Islam is ripping apart a Bible is specifically retaliation for Terry burning a Qur'an. Terry did something idiotic and inflammatory, and now Abu Islam's done something idiotic and inflammatory. Compared to the rest of the picture, this is just a playground fight. It's a classic case of "he did it first!". If Terry's Qur'an burning was prompted by an instance of Muslims stomping on the Bible or something then it really is just a vortex of dimwittery, and they're best left to it.

The instance of zealots asymmetrically attacking American embassies because a moron posted a stupid film mocking Muhammed on YouTube is a much better example of Islamic overreaction, because it shows them linking irrational behavior to a totally unrelated event. The bible-burning was just basic retaliation.

  • drcrazycatkid

Kathleen, you are a patient and polite person which I do appreciate. But, all I can say to Calliope at this point is what the kids say when one of their peers makes an over obvious error, "DUH!!"

    • Calliope

Have you noticed that the smart kids never say "duh"? It's because they know it makes them sound dim, and is generally cover for "I don't know how to format my emotional response into a logical argument, so I'm just going to skip that part and make a one-syllable noise instead".

"… Abu Islam holds another Bible and says: This is the book the dog Terry believes in, …"

Any culture that holds that dogs are "unclean" is highly suspect.

  • Adrienne

I would like to point out that from the Christians there is no gnashing of teeth or wailing that I've seen. We just look at this 8 year old bearded boy-child and go "uh. Ok"

It's just ink on paper. It's a friggin' book people. When that one burns, there's more. Hundreds more. You can burn and burn and burn books but there will always be MORE books …. it's ridiculous childish symbolism Muslims. Grow up. You talk about how your religion is peaceful, practice whatcha preach and turn the other cheek instead of acting like angry monkeys in a tree.
I seriously cannot decide if you are all stuck in 9 year old child mentalities, if the sand has entered your brains, or if you are just so freakin' uncivilized that there's no hope for expecting intelligence out of you. So far, I'm not impressed. Grow the hell up.

  • Orlando

As a Muslim, I totally condemn any disrespect shown to the Bible. the Quran affirms the Bible contains the word of Allah. To disrespect the Bible is to disrespect God.

  • true

Orlando, the koran does not affirm or has any link with the Bible whatsoever.
The koran teaches Muslims to hate those (Christians and Jews) that does not worship allah.
There is no mention of koran nor allah in the Bible.
The only way for you or muslims to be saved is to accept Jesus. Ask your Christians friends to show you the Way to God. This is very important for you. You must Save yourself first.

Abu Islam represents the moderate Islam (He is not a fundumentalist). He is expressing Islam and its teachings.

  • dbrandell

What does Obama have to say about this? It seems again, he violates the first amendment by raising islam above Christianity and allowing muslims to defile our holy book.
