It has been a while since the last suicide bomber blew up on a bus and it will still be a while longer. The Palestinian Authority ‘s Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade appears to have carried out a conventional terrorist attack on a Tel Aviv bus. This is harder to do than a suicide bombing because Israelis know to report any suspicious packages just left around. The bomb was also likely lighter than usual because so far we have 23 wounded, but none killed. That may also change.
With the exchanges of rockets and bombs, many people have forgotten how terrorists prefer to do kill civilians. And while Israel has effectively shut down Hamas’ access to Israel, it hasn’t isolated the West Bank nearly as well as it has Gaza.
Terrorist groups routinely “compete” to kill more people in this way. When Hamas is prominent, then Fatah begins trying to remind Muslims that it is also a terrorist group by killing Israelis. And this should also remind us that whoever is in charge, Arafat, Abbas or Fayyad, the Palestinian Authority is still a terrorist organization not fundamentally any different than Hamas.
