SNP Socialist Plan for Scottish Independence Doomed

The SNP is probably the worst thing that ever happened to Scotland since Edward I. Their shameless pandering, not least of all to Muslim terrorists, is now finally coming undone. First the Scottish National Party discovered that it couldn’t keep the support of Islamists while pushing gay marriage. Now its ridiculous independence bid is running into the contradiction of being anti-nuclear while still being part of NATO.

And then there is this minor economic problem

Almost nine out of 10 Scottish households take more from the public purse than they contribute in taxes thanks to a “rotten system” of state patronage.

Ruth Davidson, the Scottish Conservative leader, is to highlight official figures showing that only 283,080 households north of the border – 12 per cent of the total – pay more in tax than they receive in public services.

She will tell delegates that, because the public sector is seen as the key provider of everything from housing to employment, state spending now accounts for more than half Scotland’s wealth.

“The rotten system of patronage, which denies so many people real choices in their lives, has created a corrosive sense of entitlement which suits its political gang masters,” she will say. “Only 12 per cent are responsible for generating Scotland’s wealth. I wonder how many of them work on public sector contracts.”

Referring to her party’s dismal election record, the Scottish Conservative leader will conclude: “If the gang master state is the only provider people can see for their housing, education and employment, it’s no surprise those who seek to break the stranglehold find barriers in their way.”

The system of patronage is the same one that the left sets up everywhere, but in Scotland it worked because Scotland could draw on the UK. If independence happens, then the alternative is drawing on the EU and the EU already has too many open hands to fill. Scotland without the UK is in a worse position than Greece or Spain and not all the fake SNP windmills in the world are ever going to change that.

The bitter pill for Scottish nationalists is that it’s the SNP that has made Scottish independence so unworkable. Independence rests on economic independence. Under the SNP there’s only economic serfdom and it is quite likely that the SNP only pushes independence as a negotiating strategy, that it has no authentic interest in independence because it’s economically unworkable.

The SNP draws its popularity from more social spending and from independence. The two contradict one another. And without the social spending, the SNP would no longer be able to lock down elections.

The SNP has been buoyed by Hollywood Scottish celebrities like Sean Connery and by massive spending. It has no genuine plan for an independent Scotland. Its plan is for an eternally dependent Scotland forever dreaming of independence.

If the Scots do vote for independence it must be on condition they have their own currency independent of the rest of Britain, otherwise we will be bailing them out even more

Actually, a majority of Scots oppose independence. Support for secession is dropping month by month. We have to defend the United Kingdom from separatists. Here is a useful website :
It is a well-known fact that pro-Unionists are also pro-American, while secessionists are anti-American. It is also a well-known fact that the SNP is a Communist Party in the UK. We need to defend the Union and defeat the SNP.

Some of the abysmal things the SNP are doing to Scotland. I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK !

  • Bamaguje

And Mitt Romney complained about only 47% parasites in the US, when almost 90% of Scots are freeloaders.

I really grieve for Scotland. This was once the nation known for thrift, hard work, arts & sciences, piety and a fighting spirit that was respected around the world. What has become of Scotland the Brave? It's morphed into Scotland-on-the-Dole. Everytime I think about the released Lockerbie terrorist- and the loon waving a Scottish flag at Tripoli Airport as he stepped off the plane (as though this was to Scotland's credit!)- I just plain get ill. Can a country so mired in non-productive self-indulgence ever come back? Another question would be; can the rest of Britain? Or America?

What about Scotland's magnificent cities, such as Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth? And its beautiful Highlands, laddie? Surely a country such as this is doing a few things right. Things can't be all that bad.

Scotland doesn't deserve to secede from Britain. Scotland is an inalienable part of the United Kingdom. The majority of Scots want to remain part of the United Kingdom. The SNP is a neo-Communist party that seeks to implement Communist totalitarianism in Scotland. The UK must remain as one country.

The article writer is seriously misinformed if he is quoting from Ruth Davidson, whose calculations and assumptions were roundly annihilated by economists, the day after her speech. She has manipulated the figures to her own political ends, and by her own confession on TV said that she should have “nailed down the figures.”

The UK as a whole has very similar figures, so her point is?

The UK has had and still has a negative effect on Scotland, I live there.

The SNP far from being disastrous for Scotland has been a breath of fresh air to politics in Scotland.

I look forward to Scotland as an Independent nation. I do not want her to go down with the UK ship.

    • Omar

You are so wrong. Scotland is an inalienable part of the United Kingdom, whether you like it or not. The SNP is a Communist hate group which supports racism and bigotry and separation. The SNP supports totalitarianism. The UK's main parties (especially the Conservatives) support tolerance, cooperation and democracy. Long live the United Kingdom. Down with the SNP and separation!

"The UK has had and still has a negative effect on Scotland, I live there." Oh, yeah ? Well, I live there too and the UK remains a positive force as far as Scotland is concerned. Where is your evidence that it is otherwise ? Scotland has been a privileged, technologically advanced, well educated, healthy and prospeous nation for most of the past 300 years.

"The SNP far from being disastrous for Scotland has been a breath of fresh air to politics in Scotland. "
Are you serious ? They want to censor people (stupid legislation on sectarianism), impose legislation on the people which the vast majority of the people oppose (their absurd same sex marriage legislation) which will, as it has in Denmark, eventually be imposed of churches as mandatory. They want to allow third world immigration of mostly unskilled workers to populate the highlands of my ancestors, thereby destroying the values, landscape and way of life of that beautiful part of Scotland. They want us to remain in the dreadful EU (dreadful economically, and politically, with its imposing of EU laws on sovereign nations), and, as we have seen recently with the installing of the first Scottish Muslim minister, one who had a Hamas guy at a Scottish Parliament meeting, and the craven dhimmi attitude of the Deputy First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, at a recent anti-the-Mohammed-film Muslim rally, a favouring of those who would utterly destroy Scotland.

Scotland will sink faster outside the UK than in it if the present Scottish government and its policies are anything to go by. No doubt about it.

Conservatives have always hated Scotland, but we return the favour in spades, wich is why they are almost non existent up here. They cant grasp the fact that its in our nature to take care of our elderley sick and childrens education.Scotland is a pretty different society to conservative parts of England. Westminister politicians have the bloody cheek to call us spongers on scociety but cant bare to let us spend and raise our own taxes……..but im not suprised, there will be unspeakable amounts of egg on their chin when more people wake up to the truth, that truth is that Scotland subsidises the UK….but only for a few more years….roll on 2014 ;)

The authors arguments are undone by looking at Norway – a similar small country, with one of the highest standards of living in the world.

  • Ian Barr

Is this article for real, it seems to me that the Unionists are starting to get paranoid. If we are such a burden on England, why is Cameron desperate to hold on to Scotland. Scotland puts more into the pot per head of population, that the so called 88% scroungers take out. Let Scotland go free, we are more than capable on our own two feet , as we will find out when we gain independence. 2014 Freedom.

    • Omar

No. The Unionists are not paranoid. The SNP is paranoid. Enough with separatist Communist propaganda. Long live the UK. Down with the SNP.
