Ever since the start of the Arab Spring, Obama's been on a crusade to overthrow all small governments in the Middle East. He should be concentrating on Mexico being taken over by the hostel dug cartels.. But when you really give it some thought, wasn't "Fast and Furious" the start of a Hispanic Spring that went wrong for Obama? Because if it went right, he'd still be furnishing the bad guys guns just like he's doing in Syria!

The contempt for reason and facts on this board is funny, but terrifying knowing that you all have the right to vote and affect American policy.

First, George W Bush' ENTIRE point of invading Iraq, by his own admission, was to light a candle for the Arab world to enact their own spontaneous uprisings. By that measure, the Arab Spring has been a rousing success. From Algeria to Syria Arabs have overthrown their masters.

But because they are not all quoting Thomas Jefferson, it's Obama's fault! And it's been a bad year for the flu, so it must also be the fault of the Marxist Muslim Al Queda Manchurian Candidate. "Where's his birt certiffikate?!"

Further, the biggest and earliest supporter of arming the Lybian and Syrian rebels has been good ol war hawk John McCain, whose never seen a conflict he hasn't wanted the US to dive headlong into.

But because Obama smartly tried to stay out of that entanglement, he's being pilloried for somehow not being able to control the rebels? Unbelieveable. Grow up.

The stupidity of our president is shining threw. The Muslims brotherhood is nothing more then thugs dressed in suite and tie. If Muslims kill Muslims that's ok with me, but the aftermath that is going to be the Middle East is as one comment said, Nothing more then a grave yard. We are in for a very long ride for four more years of this insane POTUS and his leftist/Marxist administration.

I can't believe Obama is aiding these lunatic monsters. We have an insane man for a President. And to make matters worse, the majority of the American people are so mindless and ignorant of the consequences of this strife, it is truly scary and sickening. Let's hope Israel get's off its cloud and realizes that it has more than just a possibility for a riot on its hand. In 7 years, the entire Middle East may be nothing more than a graveyard.

First, those guys in the Al Nusra Front have every reason to be confident. Second, even if they didn't, they are intelligent enough to know that putting a brave, bold face on everything they say and do is just smart policy and politics. Mr. Magoo knew as much. Third, if by worse to come you mean more Muslim on Muslim violence, then I agree. Except, I like that idea, to an extent. I only hope the redrawn map of the region, after the battles, will be something a bit more amenable to stability than the current version. As the major regional powers swing their elbows a bit, it may even settle out that way. None of them can afford a major regional conflict, but if the Kurds and a few other minority types get some land, so much the better. American and European involvement should be minimal. Meanwhile, this "Greater Syria" mirage is sort of amusing. Yes, it will instill panic in some gullible quarters, but it's just not gonna happen. Syria was inherently weak as a nation state before this latest ruckus, it will be weaker and likely more fragmented when it simmers down. If and when it simmers down. Eventually it will, but it could take a long while, depending on how much foreign fuel is poured on the fire in the form of money and weapons and false hopes. The imaginary Greater Syria will not happen mostly because it is surrounded by powerful countries who have no intention of allowing a Greater Syria to develop. No, Jordan is not powerful, but it has friends and even it's rivals value it's role as a buffer and counterbalance to their more significant rivals. It's going to be quite a shindig over there for a while. But, historical adjustments are seldom polite matters.
