US Drones Being Deployed Against Libyan Insurgency

A senior U.S. official tells CNN that U.S. unmanned surveillance drones are expected to begin flying over Benghazai and other locations in eastern Libya to look for jihadi encampments and targets that may be tied to the attack on U.S. State Department personnel.
The proposal for use of drones is expected to be approved shortly by the Pentagon and the White House, CNN’s Pentagon Correspondent Barbara Starr reported. The official said the plan is for U.S. surveillance drones to gather the intelligence and then hand it off to the Libyans to strike the targets.
That’s a “great plan” considering that Libya’s Interior Minister announced a few weeks ago that he did not have the capabilities to fight the Jihadists.
If Obama pushes hard enough, then they may carry out one or two raids for show, but Libya doesn’t have much of an air force left and its security forces are filled with Islamists. That is how the attack happened and how the Safe House was located.
Wanis al-Sharef, a Libyan Interior Ministry official in Benghazi, said the four Americans were killed when the angry mob, which gathered to protest a U.S.-made film that ridicules Islam’s Prophet Muhammad, fired guns and burned down the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.
He said Stevens, 52, and other officials were moved to a second building – deemed safer – after the initial wave of protests at the consulate compound. According to al-Sharef, members of the Libyan security team seem to have indicated to the protesters the building to which the American officials had been relocated, and that building then came under attack.
The Libyans can’t and won’t do this. If the Interior Minister said that the Salafists could do whatever they wanted to the Sufis, what do you think his position on American infidels is?
If will be US drones carrying out attacks on Jihadist targets relying on Libyan intelligence and it’s one step closer to Libya turning into the new Iraq.
Maintaining a US presence in Libya is going to take more Marines and some heavier weapons and an aerial presence to hunt down Jihadist fighters. This is the war that Obama has gotten the United States into without ever being honest and open about what he was doing.
