Why You Will Never Buy a Car Again

If you’ve been waiting around to buy a new car, better hurry up. If Obama gets his way, the only car you will be able to buy will be a small hybrid cube and will cost more than you can afford.

The Obama administration has finalized new fuel economy rules that will require the fleet-wide average of new cars and trucks sold in the U.S. to double over the next 13 years. The average fuel economy must reach 54.5 miles per gallon by 2025, up from 28.6 mpg at the end of last year.

The Center for Automotive Research estimated that an earlier lower mileage increase would increase the cost of a car by $11,000. A 54.5 mpg increase could bring costs up to $15,000 extra per vehicle.

That might not be such a big deal for Obama, but for millions of American workers and small business owners who depend on their car to get to work and to earn a living, this will mean the difference between being able to feed their families and not being able to feed their families.

The National Automobile Dealers Association Chairman Bill Underriner warned, “This increase shuts almost 7 million people out of the new car market entirely and prevents many millions more from being able to afford new vehicles that meet their needs.”

The NADA Chairman further warned that the increase would actually force people to continue driving old cars which would lower car sales and keep mileage standards law. The only way to fix that will be with another Cash for Clunkers program.

President Barack Obama said the new fuel standards “represent the single most important step” his administration has taken to reduce U.S. dependence on foreign oil.

Actually Obama’s war on domestic drilling has dramatically increased American dependence on foreign oil. And now an administration that boasts of having saved the American automobile industry, appears determined to make its products inaccessible to Americans.

Herbert Hoover promised Americans, “A chicken in every pot and a car in every garage.” For now you can still get the chicken, but I wouldn’t count on being able to get the car.

He has ruined the auto industry. Chevy volt is not producing. What a travesty

And when every car is an EcoCar, everyone will be stranded by the side of the road.

The thing no one is noticing is that these new teeny weeny cars and the push toward tiny houses is a discouragement to family.
These are not family cars or homes.

No gun racks either. This is meant for the new America where there are few children and no personal space.

didn't you knwo that the family unit is consdiered unsustainable? agenda 21 is about pushing us into stack and pack boxes and fencing off the cities you live in so you cant escape, it is really just a reverse effort to get you into a gulag, you know what a gulag is don't you? these people who support this 21 thing really are foolish. once the people behind this get what they want these useful idiots (which I have heard them called by the elites) will be pushed aside or enslaved too, they promise people things until they get what they want then they slaughter you once they don't need you anymore. that is why I say foolish they are cutting their own throats and odn't know it yet

Let us see, we will be spending $15,000 in higher car costs to save $8,000 in fuel costs. Obama is not a math genius, but what the heck, he is a very rich dude with lots of money to burn. He is certainly not part of america's middle class. Let them eat cake!

I drive a 2000 Echo and it got 45MPG for years! Now it’s down to 40MPG and it cost less than $10,000. I am a conservative and I hate Obama so don't give me no ####! You don't need a huge truck to drive to work. You don't need a big SUV when you never leave the road and only get snow deep enough to be a problem maybe twice a year. We are leaving a $16,000,000,000,000 debt and a screwed up planet to our kids. Plus you are giving the Arabs billions and billions which they use to build Muslim schools and advocate Islam all over the world. Terrorism?! God told man to take care of His creation. It speaks of his character. I first fell in love with God in the beauty of the pristeen Desert. And yes I am a Born Again Christian! Does that mean I have to be an blind and selfish too? You might as well be cutting pages out of the bible. No one will come to know God through his creation if there is nothing left. Global warming is killing trees that have been alive for thousands of years (Bristlecones). Fires are everywhere. I can't even go for my noon walk today because of the Ozone level. Stop being so pigheaded and selfish. Leave something for the next generation! God will judge!

first of all lets keep things in check. emotional outbursts only cloud clear thinking. fuel standards are not about the enviorment, technology was already in the works for a long time now to reduce pollution long before gov started interfereing. the more they try to stifle freedom and interfere with free will the more people manage to get around the restrictions one way or another, this is just a part of the agenda 21, wildlands project I have read so much about. can't regulate you out of a car how about we price you out of a car. remember the elites will not live the way they want us to, they will live with their big stretch limos, private jets etc, hypocrites they are. this is a power grab more than anything.

Obama ruined the auto industry? The American auto industry had severe problems years before Obama was even on the scene. And to be factual about it, the negotiations towards the GM and Chrysler bailouts (like the Recession itself) started under George W. Bush. And in saying that, I actually give a bit of credit to Bush, because the auto bailouts (especially GM's) worked out very well. The taxpayers have had most of their money returned with interest and will eventually have all of it. And literally millions of good-paying manufacturing jobs were saved in this country when you stop to consider all of the fallout (suppliers, local businesses, etc) that would have wiped out thousands of such businesses in a massive chain-reaction if GM had gone completely out of business, as might very well have happened without federal help. I did not support the Wall St and big bank bailouts, which were much more expensive than the autos and went to help those who had gambled way too big and lost, and those in charge during the disasters who, rather than being ashamed of nearly destroying the national economy, instead still wanted their outrageous executive bonuses, profit or no profit.

And I really don't get all of this hatred of the Chevy Volt from conservatives. Like many of GM's latest models, it's been well received by the automotive press. If you drive less than 35 miles per day, it becomes possible to burn almost no gasoline at all, essentially unlimited mileage gasoline-wise – but the gas is always there on demand if you want it. Why do Americans celebrate what they see (wrongly I think) as a failure by a major US company? Is it just a hatred of any that's intended to benefit the environment? And many of these same Fox News-fed people also suddenly think that wind power is an eye sore – yet they have never complained much about telephone poles or billboards?

  • obama sucks

Stop mandating ethanol, you will have better mileage and save the taxpayers money at the same time. Win-win.

Why not mandate 100 mpg, or 500?
Why not mandate that farmers raise 1,000,000 bushels of corn per acre?
All you electric car people — you do know that the electricity has to come from somewhere — or DO you? Most of it comes from those nasty coal-based plants that Obama wants to bankrupt.

Spending $15,000 in higher car costs to save $8,000 in fuel costs is economic illiteracy.

If I can’t fix every system on a car, and own a full service manual, f#ck it. It’s disposable junk.

Without a 350 cubic inch V-8 (minimum size), I question if a car is really even suitable for an American to own. The last real car out of the Big Three was the GM B-Body platform that ended in 1996, leaving the 4/5ths-good Ford Clown Victrola as the remaining taxi-police car. It’s a good thing they have radios and helicopters, because a hopped-up Calico Honda Civic can outrun a CVPI (the Civic is to be found along a 1.75 mile debris field where it disintegrated back into the 7 cars it was made from after touching 136mph on de-studded snow tires. 5 unidentified bodies have been found in pieces mixed with the car parts).

Got feet? That’s the mobility you will be able to afford.

    Cheers.

There is a negotiation and bargaining takes place in the payment and installment depending on your IT Return or loans. But it is so hard to bargaining or in many automobile sectors there is no bargaining take place. Overall it is a hard tax.
