Woman who Sparked Petraeus Investigation, has Lebanese Background

I’m really not interested in delving into the “scandal” area of this. That said, I find it interesting that (Gilberte) Jill Kelley’s actual last name is Khawam and that she has a Lebanese background. Considering that she effectively initiated all this, and had deep connections with top commanders, it raises some serious questions.

Jill Kelley, the Florida woman whose complaint to the FBI may have led to the downfall of CIA Director David Petraeus, hails from a Lebanese family that emigrated to Philadelphia in the mid-1970s. Her parents, John and Marcelle Khawam, once operated a Middle Eastern restaurant in Voorhees called Sahara.

The Khawam family is Christian. And her father appears to have an organist in a Maronite Christian church. Still groups such as Hezbollah have been able to recruit from among Lebanese Christians. And Muslims have been known to pose as Christians.

The NY papers made it seem like she was this honorable whistle blower and she turns out to be skank. Just goes to show that a man's loyalty is pretty much decided by where his genitals were last night. Let's dig up Peter Jennings and ask him. I got a shovel.

Arab Christians can be trusted only marginally more than Arab Muslims. Christianity is a belief system, not an ethnic group. Blood, in the end, is thicker than water. The Israelis know about this first-hand.

In one Antiochian Orthodox Christian church in Florida, THAT I KNOW did this, had a memorial service for Yassar Arafat!

good grief. Did they not know what a scumbag arafat was?

Ahhh; yesss;'. One man's trash; another man's treasure; perhaps …

(Interesting that Arafat's 'Great Uncle' was Amin al Husseini; Grand Mufti of Jerusulem during WWII period. He managed 'collaboration' of Islamist Leadership with Hitler and nazi Leadership. Nazism found a 'rootbed' in Islamism; and shares it's totalitarian root and purist MO.; and so; it's values; such as 'ethnic cleansing; genocide;subjugation to an idea. Nazi 'subjugation' necessary for goals; and Islamism via 'shariah' subjugates as well. Those who are not/will not. . .well; we know how their story ends. These two 'isms'; desiring a 'world domination'/conquest by whatever means, possible.

Islamism/Sharia; and Nazism; a mutual admiration society; if not a 'mirror' where the worst of the East met the worst of the West, in the Looking Glass.

Amin al Husseini was made the Prime Minister of Pan-Arab Government by the Nazi regime. His headquarters were in Berlin.
And he attended the Final Solution meeting .
Hitler originally planned to mass deport a large portion of the Jews out of Germany. Husseini perceived this as a threat to his stronghold in Palestine and pushed for the extermination of the European Jews.

Mufti Amin Al Husseini met many times with Chief Commander of the Nazi SS Heinrich Himmler and they began to plan the construction of a concentration camp in Nablus (Palestine) to implement the “final solution” in Palestine to exterminate the Jews there.

March 1, 1944. Amin Al-Husseini made a speech from Berlin addressing Muslim SS Nazi troops: "Kill Jews wherever you find them. This pleases God, History and Religion. This saves your honor. God is with you.”

            1944
Amin Al-Husseini becomes Co-Founder and President of Arab League. Their goal is to reinforce Wahhabi vision of Pan-Islamic unity. Founding countries are: Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Yemen.

Thousands of Nazis fled to Egypt as the regime collapsed. They changed their names to Arabic and were employed in media, military and politics .

Sadly, both Christians and Muslims in the "occupied territories" are hostile toward the Jewish state.

    • atthebeach

Well; beyond the 'blood' thing; perhaps another question needs answering – and like her background; this one has not yet, made 'large print'. . . Is she a Democrat or a Republican?

The only arab christians are present in palestine… christians in egypt, syria, lebanon are not arab… for if you have any historical information the religious identoty of the many christians communities is an indicator to their ethnicity.. maronites used to speak Aramaic for example.. another ethnic community is the greek mekites and orthodox where their original language was Greek before the arab invasion….. just for your info, lebanese christians allied with israel during the lebanese civil war… israel armed and equiped the lebanese christians…

    Well, well, the plot thickens.

And there are MANY Arab Christians who adhere to jihadi ways. And it is not as if Arabs-whatever their stripes-haven't pretended to be what they aren't, at least when it comes to destroying the Big and Little Satan!

I think it's a very weak possibility, but I suppose it's worth keeping our ears open. I've been surprised before.

  • BLJ

This whole thing stinks to high heaven. Just par for the course in the days of Obama.

  • Shirley Burley

Yeh, let's get back on topic. Throwing the pack off the scent with a sex scandal or two is so yesterday. Let's say the Chicago gun runner decided to try his revolutionary hand at jihadist recruitment. That might explain what was going on in the annex. In holding, waiting for deportation via Turkey to the war zone. You've gotta find somewhere to employ the worst rabble rousers, if it can't be Gitmo. I can't quite see that fitting into the betray us book of counter insurgency, more likely some sort of peace corps inspired pipe dream, but it's hard to believe the see I hey didn't know. That would explain the presence of the Turkish diplomat, who represents a nation who actually have a dog in that fight and can't find any crazy dogs at home to do the dirty work. Well, should have all gone according to plan, and we the armchair see I heys would all be busy bonking away in blissful ignorance back in languidly. So then the Yanks are just another of the tribal gangs running Benghazi, trafficking this or that, and gang rivalry explains the attack. Get off my turf, you wannabe racketeers. And just to prove what a pussy he is, without recourse to the traditional power sources in this instance, Bugsy Malone speeds off to Las Vegas to seek solace amongst his adoring fan base. The rest is elementary, dear Watson, and betray us is just one of the blasts of dry ice periodically fissed out onto the MSM dance floor, while the democratic party raves on. Problem is proof, and for that we need Holmes, who might get to the bottom of this game of shadows. Rush Limbaugh? Looks like he needs some exercise. He could go and check the consulate for prints! Otherwise, it's Mossad, before Bugsy finds a way of putting the hobbled Bibi out of the game. This one can prove. Barry is such a cool dude, all he wants to do is keep the costs of war down!

What I read here in the comments largely reflects ignorance, or squalid bigotry — the Christians in the Middle East, whether in Lebanon, Syria or Egypt, not to mention Iraq, have been persecuted for centuries and recently have been targeted because of their faith, pure and simple. In Egypt churches are routinely destroyed, Christian men are murdered and women raped. In Iraq half the Christians have fled on account of persecution, while in Syria, ancient churches have been blown up and Christians murdered by the Muslim militants.

As for Jill Kelley, if she is of Maronite background, then those pontificating with imbecilic statements such as "Arab Christians who adhere to jihadi ways (sic)," should know that the Lebanese Maronites have consistently fought the Muslims, in fact were allied to the Israelis.

Please, enough of ignorance and veiled racism — we have enough problems with the Muslim Jihadis to lose focus as a result of nonsense.

    • atthebeach

Do not think it a 'racism' afoot here. We know Americans of a 'number' of religions; have in the end; been so wooed. Think the more susceptible aspect per one's patriotism' – or , one 'at risk' , perhaps – is whether one has Leftist leanings – or not. Again; am wondering; the political affiliation of those so influential and involved. Of course; all could be 'simpatico'; while 'others' looking in; may have found a loose stone in the foundation. Whatever. .

Readily/easily apparent; is how both these women; seem to live in an altogether; fanciful world of their creation; with feelings; not of grandeur; perhaps; but certainly an arrogance of 'imagined' power; with visions of 'self-importance' . Gained; it seems; at the expense of those they befriend; and 'more'.

I agree. Daniel Greenfield is a little too quick to make racial innuendos, in my opinion. Of course it is possible that there is an Arab connection, but there needs to be more evidence than that she is a Maronite Christian who "could be" a Muslim posing as a Christian.

I really consider this irresponsible journalism, and most of the commenters are no better.

      • Daniel Greenfield

What racial innuendo do you see in my post?

        • Anon

You say "… she has a Lebanese background…. it raises some serious questions."

"The Khawam family is Christian…. Still groups such as Hezbollah have been able to recruit from among Lebanese Christians. And Muslims have been known to pose as Christians."

So, based on her Lebanese background, you cast suspicion on her. You seem to be hinting that despite her family being Christian, she may be working for the Muslims.

I think it would be much better to investigate first, then make allegations. Find some actual evidence of her working for Jihad groups before hinting there could be a connection. To make allegations purely on the basis of her family's country of origin is really poor form.

At this point, we don't even know whether she did anything for the purpose of ensnaring Petraeus in the investigation. It is possible, of course, but so far nothing has come to light, and I haven't even seen any plausible theories to that effect, much less evidence.

If you can uncover the evidence and present it, then more power to you! I just don't like seeing unsubstantiated innuendos.

          • Daniel Greenfield

It's a legitimate concern. Just as it was with refugees from the USSR.

If a Russian woman were involved in a major scandal with top generals, it would be an issue that people would raise.

          • Anon

            Daniel Greenfield,

It is a legitimate avenue for investigation, but it is NOT a legitimate context for publicly disparaging someone when we have no evidence at this point that this woman even did something wrong!

Look, I agree with you that the whole Petraeus affair (so to speak) stinks to high heaven. I think this whole thing is extremely fishy and I would like for investigative reporters to get to the bottom of it. However, let's not start throwing mud on such a flimsy pretext as this, OK? Investigate first, THEN publish!

Based on a couple rants I've seen, Greenfield doesn't seem to be coping too well with Obama and the Dems victory last week. All I can say is that Horowitz must be pretty cheap if this is the best shill he can find for his money.

Yes I remember how FOX screamed bloody murder at the lefties who referred to Petraeus as Betrayus. How dare they besmirch this great American general! Looks like they were closer to the truth than FOX. What a dumb ass! As far as Jill Kelly, I think she is yet another social climber who craves celebrity.

Obama should have fired half the Pentagon when he came into office in 2008.

  • Cat k

Petraeus was never viewed as a hero to anyone who could read. Assuming That FOX represents the way many American non liberals think and feel is just ignorant. How tiresome! FOX is a cable business with certain ownership, management and " talent." It isn't me. It isn't the barometer or measure of my reactions. Most people I know, for example, only watch FOX news as a poor alternative to much worse programming. The anti-FOX meme is tired. Put it to bed.

Photo is of Jill's sister, Natalie, the sister who is fighting to get custody rights of her children, but whom the judge said has absolutely no integrity or honesty, to be allowed to have them or similar, condemning remarks. That woman pictured here is overweight Natalie Khawam, The guy is Petraeus alright, but as I say, he’s standing next to Jill's sister, Natalie. Besides, Jill is better built. Jill is to the right, out of this picture cut, with Holly, in the picture here: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/ap-sourc

Natalie has been described pro and con, as a mother, in some stories. And yes, a foreign nationality could explain behavior, based on childhood treatment while growing up, which often is worse with some nationality orientations. These girls are player, schemer, social manipulator girls of life. These are trophy women. High maintenance, high price, and trouble. Don't expect faithfulness.

  • Jackbequick

Dan’s pointed commentary here is of merit, considering the seriousness of the acquaintance with very high level security and high power people. They could easily be subtle honey traps, and leak sources, or worse. Now I know why FBI is checking so thoroughly into home and computers of Paula, (who is certainly not related by nationality), but wondering when they get around to the Khawan’s possessions. Jill used a connection of hers with an FBI field agent to initiate the investigation of the emails, that led to the whole bloody affair, and now said agent is suspected of banging her, or working to that end. Now after his shirtless photo emailed to her, he is under examination and suspension. These are manipulative girls, highly physically desirable, and they know it, only time will tell. Worse leaks and security disasters have happened with less reason than the possibility here, so it bears examination to clear or expose. The girls have been trolling around a lot, in high security clearance circles, but for what, sport or job?

  • bilal911

I really doubt Al Qaeda runs Mata harees throwing booze parties for geezer generals hard up for the cougars Paula Kranz and Jelly Khawan, But there is another political entity in the Middle east favored by Maronites and ambitious women in the counter terrorism financial boondoggle.

If benghazi and the riots reacting to 'Innocence of Muslims' were an October surpirse, the maronite coup of Petraeus fits in well especially as we know Cantor was part of the coup plot.

  • Chezwick

I'd trust an Arab Christian over a white Muslim convert any day of the week. Meanwhile, one poster above claims that "blood is thicker than water." The assertion shows a complete lack of comprehension of what Islam constitutes. Belief transcends EVERYTHING in Islam. This is why a Muslim can so readily murder his daughter or spouse out of religious obligation.

Err…the Maronites are very proud of their (non-Arab) Phoenician roots. Think Sea People, Carthage, etc. Ever wonder where your alphabet comes from? And for those of you who think they're a hairsbreadth from Hamas….ever heard of Sabra and Shatila? Also, they were Christian before Constantine….who do you think supported the Crusader kingdoms? If speaking Arabic made a person suspect, we'd have even less intel on MENA than we already do. In case you don't know where you can become informed, there's a website called Wikipedia that gives you a decent start in understanding these things.
