“You Have to Use Violence to Defend Islamic Values?” “Yes Of Course,” He Replies

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

The clash of civilizations comes down to a conflict of laws. Islam is its own legal and political system and it is incompatible with the existing legal and political systems of the countries that it is invading.

There is no understanding Muslim violence without understanding that simple point. Making concessions on depictions of Mohammed will not solve anything. There are too many points of incompatibility and too many of them involve issues of basic civil rights.

BONN – “You have to use violence to defend Islamic values?” asks the judge.

“Yes, of course,” Murat K. replies. Five months after he attacked police officers with a knife, the 26-year-old Salafist came clean in the courtroom: it was his duty, he said, to wound the police officers.

Murat K., the man who began by throwing stones and then perpetrated the knife attacks, is a Turkish citizen born in the town of Eschwege in the northeastern part of the state of Hesse. His family, which is not particularly religious, has been living in Germany for decades.

The judge is making a big effort. He speaks to the defendant calmly; he’s even friendly in his effort to understand. He has given Murat K. permission to wear the black head covering he has wound around his head pirate-style.

His approach gets Murat K. talking. The judge asks him to “imagine you are a policeman and it’s your job to ensure order. In your eyes, would you be a justified target?”

“Yes,” says Murat K., continuing: “The German state allows caricatures of Muhammad to be shown, so the police are automatically involved.”

But what if a Court said it was okay for the caricatures to be shown, the judge asked. “Your values make it possible to insult the Prophet. Islam prohibits that. The price for doing that in Islam is the death sentence. You have your freedom of opinion, but as a Muslim, a believer, Islam must be my opinion.”

It was at this point that Judge Reinhoff asked: “You have to use violence to defend Islamic values?” and Murat K. replied: “Yes, of course.”

Murat is acting as a good Muslim. Everything that he is doing is according to Islamic law.

Murat is acting as a police officer of Islamic law. The police officers are acting as officers of German law. But there can be only one law in Germany. It will either be Islamic law or German law. Either Justice or Sharia will triumph.

Yes, Muslims are "invading" the west to conquer, colonize, and destroy the indigenous cultures and systems of law to establish 7th Century Arab/Islamic culture and law. Anyone that resists Islam will be murdered in accordance with the Qur'an.

Every rational western man and woman has a duty to resist and expel all Muslims from their countries and burn out every vestige of Islam.

Very well said. Check this post that includes a sample of a letter to send to the leader in your community, county and state, asking to stop benefits of visas to Muslims and to stop their "activities" that involve invasion and conquering or overtaking the sovereignty of the country. Right now is only is Spanish. http://laverdadacercadelislam.blogspot.com/2012/1

Using violence to enforce (or expand) ones cultural values?! How American of them!

"The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion (to which few members of other civilizations were converted) but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do."

—The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order; Samuel P. Huntington; 1996; pg. 51.

The "west" didn't win the world.
And using a broad sweeping borrowed statement doesn't really convey whatever point you are trying to make. What part of the "west"?
And of course there is a large gap between 1620 and 2012.

I don't notice the indigenous Hindus, Sikhs and Jews who used to live in Egyptistan, Iraqistan, Pakistain or Bangladesh getting any semi-independent tribal lands to live on (unlike in the US), but plenty of rape, forcible conversion to islam, persecution and murder.

Try him by his own laws then. In Turkey the police would simply beat him to death or try and execute him, so that's the justice he seeks. Give it to him.

The article is informative and of interest to me because I live in Bonn, Germany and amongst many Muslims living on my street. I wish here only to make a short comment. Greenfield has described the situation. HOWEVER! Whereas Germany is concerned with Islamic terrorism, such terrorism has be identified with Salafist, period! No concern about Brootherhood Islam, not to speak, of Erdogan Islam. This fact is important. Why? What is shows is that Germany has found a method of blinding itself against ISLAM per se as a possible religious/ideological antithesis to democratic order. Until the Islam per se question is dealth with, Germany is no more help than Obama.
