‘Dances with Lies’ Takes Center Stage

Nevertheless, Warren has maintained that listing herself as a Native American in the AALS directory had less to do with her climbing the law school ladder through the misuse and abuse of affirmative action policies and more to do with her needing an opportunity to become more in touch with her Cherokee heritage.

As such, Warren said she hoped that having her minority status listed in the AALS directory would “mean that I would be invited to a luncheon, a group, something that might happen with people who are like I am.”

Warren admitted, however, that her task of finding someone else “like me” never materialized, a failure which may have stemmed in part from the fact that there aren’t too many Native Americans who can identify with the bitter discrimination and maltreatment that a white Anglo-Saxon woman faces.

Another reason why Warren failed to find solace and enrichment with other Native Americans may have come from her unwillingness to participate in any Native American Bar Association or similar campus group in order to meet fellow American Indian faculty and students. Probably to avoid outing herself as an affirmative action fraud and exploiter due to her obvious European appearance and lack of credible background story.

Shelly Lowe, executive director of Harvard University’s Native American Program (HUNAP), said Warren had never to her knowledge participated in the program’s events while she was a professor at Harvard.

In any event, Elizabeth’s nine-year journey to find someone else “like her” ended in 1995 when she discontinued her “minority” listing in the AALS professional directory, coincidentally at the same time she received tenure at Harvard.

Unfortunately for Warren, the controversy over her Cherokee ancestry arises from the fact that her claim is not based on any type of genealogical documentation. Rather, its foundation rests instead on Warren family “lore,” stories handed down which confirmed to the blonde, blue-eyed Elizabeth that she indeed possessed substantial Native American blood.

One such conclusive story offered by Warren was that her Aunt Bee had told her a “1000 times” that Elizabeth’s “high cheekbones” were reminiscent of Bee’s own grandfather, physical characteristic which are found in “all Indians.”

While that account was apparently deemed by the former Harvard Professor to be acceptable proof of her American Indian bona fides, Warren’s exercise in racial stereotyping did little to assuage her critics.

That criticism forced the Warren campaign to uncover a genealogist report which purportedly found Warren’s great-great-great grandmother, Sarah Smith Crawford, to be Cherokee, a claim that was later debunked by an 1860 Census, which listed Sarah Smith Crawford as “white,” a combination Swedish, English and German.

Nevertheless, Warren has tenaciously clung to that genealogist report as concrete evidence that she is indeed 1/32 Cherokee and thus a “woman of color.” Moreover, Warren has chalked up the efforts of those who question her links to American Indian status as being nothing more than agents of her Republican opponent, Scott Brown.

Not surprisingly, one of those people, a Cherokee woman named Twila Barnes, has taken umbrage at that accusation, writing that the issue “is not political. This is about the truth,” adding that Elizabeth Warren had “claimed something you had no right to claim — our history and our heritage and our identity. Those things belong to us and us alone.”

Of course, Warren’s ancestral claims, bogus or not, have done little to hurt her standing in the eyes of the Democratic Party, which sees her as a rising star and, thus, awarded her with the prime-time slot to introduce Bill Clinton as the keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention. In effect, the Democrats have doubled down on support for a deceitful charlatan who makes a mockery of the educational quota system Democrats claim to stand for.

A similar such slot was given to Barack Obama at the 2004 Democratic Convention, one which introduced him to a national audience, and which set the stage for his 2008 presidential run.

Of course, given her ongoing efforts to make coherent sense of her own genealogical background, Elizabeth Warren may need more than one speech to get her story straight in order to give a factual introduction of herself to the nation.

I listened, and could not believe the contrast between the 2 conventions, one seemed practical and down to earth, facing the the reality of a very grave crisis with sensible solutions, the other almost ignoring the obvious. It seemed to me that last night those people don't want to give up their entitlements, like OWS is a needed movement, but needed for what purpose. I guess you can tell what I stand for right or wrong, but that is what makes the world go round.

    They are all nuts.

    • mlcblog

      It's the liars convention.

  • Schlomotion

I thought Elizabeth Warren gave an excellent speech, and I was honored today, although a registered Republican, to take a Democratic ballot and cast my vote for her and stick it in the black box.

    • ziontruth

Schlocky is as much of a right-winger as Warren is an American Indian or the Arab settler-colonists squatting on the Land of Israel are Palestinians.

Fraud and fakery—it's a playbook perfected by the Left/Islam alliance.

"BLACK BOX", what a racist comment.

    • reader

Of course, you were honored by her excellent speech. She's almost as much of a fraud as you are. Only nobody's going to stick anything in any box for you. O-o-oh….

She claims to be what 1/16 or 1/64 Native American. She'd better be careful. One nosebleed and she'll be out of the tribe. There are liars, damned liars and Democats. Anyone who would vote for her over Scott Brown, a proven honest politician, is a fool. I haven't always been happy with Brown's choices on issues but he's tried hard to take the middle road on most issues, unlike Squaw Lying Prof or Socialist Kenyan President.

Listen Solomon, the reason you are a Republican is so you can vote in the primaries for the least electable candidate.

Her Cherokee tribal name is "Speaks with Forked Tongue".

"According to Frank LeMere, of the Nebraska Winnebago Tribe, Warren “shouldn’t represent that she is Native American. Our issues are too important,” adding he would “absolutely not” back a candidate who lied about being American Indian. Harlyn Geronimo, the great-grandson of the legendary Apache warrior, echoed that view when he said, “I wouldn’t vote for anybody that is being dishonest, and unfair to our people.”"

And yet they continue to support a party that has spit in their faces by granting a position of prominence to such an obvious low life fraud…

The author is right, but this is such a tangential issue that it hardly matters. The real issue is that Elizabeth Warren is a populist of the Left. Yes, I know: She's a Harvard law professor, not exactly where populists are found. But she knows how to transform sentiment of the crowd into authoritarian political action, the hallmark of all radical populists, Left or Right. Whether she can claim authentic Creek, Shoshone or Mohawk ancestry is virtually irrelevant.

    Fraud!

I remember when Twila Barnes and several others tried to meet up with E. Warren….she completely dodged them. They were going to give her a present, but since she didn't have the decency to meet up with them or let them know she was too busy, they disposed of flower arrangement.

  • Rick_in_VA

Not to split hairs, but the legal definition of "native American" is a person who was born in this country. This has nothing to do with American Indian heritage. I think people should do a little research before putting pen to paper. (or is that fingers to keyboard?)

Such a horrible scandal! Make sure you blow the lid right off this thing! The collective yawn will be staggering!

"Of course, Warren’s ancestral claims, bogus or not, have done little to hurt her standing in the eyes of the Democratic Party, which sees her as a rising star."
Of course! Lies are career-enhancers for Lefties whose credo is "the ends justify the means"! Lefties live by their notorious Double Standard which is hypocrisy defined: Applause for me; shackles for thee and by any means necessary. It all depends on what the meaning of "is" is. Now get that blue dress outta here! Yuk! Yuk!

Elizabeth Warren was great last night, looking forward to having her in Congress. I'm going to get so much pleasure from seeing/reading/hearing Republicans whine about being defeated on all fronts in November, it's going to be a blast.

    • reader

…just like the other night in Wisconsin, right after cheerful chants "Hit the road, Scott, and don't you come back no more…" Oh, Scott Walker is still the Governor? That can't be….

  • Ghostwriter

I doubt that there are going to be too many Native Americans voting for Ms. Warren.

  • Stan Lee

Warren id ducking the real native American people. If she was for real, she wouldn't pass up the opportunity to meet with those folks while there at that Convention. I think she's avoiding them, not because she's there to address "a bigger picture of America," but for fear of slipping up in front of them who know their own, and losing her sales gimmick.

Elizabeth Warren, like Brooksley Born, Sheila Bair and William Black are among the few who oppose the terrorist financial executives who hold this country hostage. Let the big banks fail. Let their bondholders take haircuts. Let the corner office criminals face prosecution. And private equity kingpin tax evaders, too.
My next read will be William Black's The Best Way to Rob a Bank is to Own One: How Corporate Executives and Politicians Looted the S&L Industry. My last one was Neil Barofsky's Bailout. (Barofsky was Bush appointed SIGTARP – Special Inspector General for the TARP program.) And you know, Elizabeth Warren wins rare high praise in Barofsky's book.

So Warren lied to gain benefits given to minority status, a quick stepping stone up, look into Obama
who is rumored to have gone to College as a foreign exchange student. I think the Democrats have
a serious problem with telling the truth and are geared to set up programs in government in order
to abuse them by fraud. Warren is cherished in the Democratic ranks for her abilities as a bald faced
liar………..who votes for these shams is quite telling of the debased moral character of todays
    Democrats, quite revolting……………………..William

It sounds like Frank Crimi is having a hard time paying the bills. This is from Amazon about his one book:
I'm sure that when a person descends into madness, it comes along gradually and doesn't happen overnight. It doesn't seem reasonable to think you go to bed-faculties intact-and then find yourself the next morning in your underwear, standing in front of your house, yelling at the mailbox. I'm not certain when the actual moment of my own descent occurred, the point at which I lost all semblance of my true identity, but it may have started around the time I lost my job. Prior to that moment, I was a sharp guy wearing a suit and tie who got up early each morning to wage the corporate battle. The next thing I knew, I sat clad in a stained bathrobe, clipping coupons at my kitchen table. When Frank Crimi lost his job after years in the corporate world, he also lost himself. After a time of uncertainty and a bit of fumbling, he decided to fulfill his lifelong goal: become a writer…
And now Crimi is a cog in the right wing smear machine. Just what was his job in "the corporate world"?

Just like the con artist Ward Churchill , Elizabeth used a false genetic claim to receive minority privileges.

It is simple to prove with 2 hours of research or a DNA test. And it should be done that way because Native Americans have tribal laws that cover ancestry.By refusing to meet with the Council or show definitive proof she is spitting on all Tribes.

It is repulsive and offensive this woman is abusing Native history. Wasn’t enough done to them in the past ? What right does this vile person have to run for political office when she is blatant liar?

Dancin' with Obama is the same dancing with the devil, a liar, murderer and thief.

Besides getting benefits to which she was never entitled, Warren claims to be 1/32 Native American. Well, Ms. Warren, my children are 1/16 Narraganset and they've never gotten a thing for that lineage. I think she's a thief who has lied to get benefits that even real Native Americans don't get.
