Coalition of Leftist Groups to Disrupt ‘Islamic Apartheid Conference’

The David Horowitz Freedom Center and Temple University Students for Intellectual Freedom have organized an “Islamic Apartheid Conference” to be held on Monday, April 23rd focusing on the second-class status of women and homosexuals in Islam and the intolerance for other religions.  An organized coalition of leftist and Islamist student groups at Temple University has created a Facebook page defaming the scheduled panelists and pledged to protest and disrupt the event.

The panel discussion will feature four distinguished experts: Nonie Darwish, author of the new book The Devil We Don’t Know, Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch and author of the new book Did Muhammad Exist?, Pamela Geller, founder and editor of the popular blog and author of  Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance, and Simon Deng, a refugee from Sudan and survivor of child slavery.

“We do not use the term ‘Islamic apartheid’ lightly,” commented David Horowitz, founder and chairman of the David Horowitz Freedom Center. “Nowhere in the modern world can such infringements on personal and religious freedoms and civil rights paralleling the situation under apartheid rule in South African be found as in the Islamic-controlled nations of the Middle East where women can be stoned to death for being victims of rape. Yet these insidious violations of human rights are barely discussed, let alone addressed, in the mainstream media and on college campuses. Our event at Temple University is the first step towards addressing the multitude of crimes against humanity committed by these Islamic regimes.”

The alliance of leftist and Islamist groups planning the disruption includes Occupy Temple, the International Socialist Organization, Students for Justice in Palestine, and the Party for Socialism and Liberation, among others. This consortium has created a Facebook page for their protest which refers to the event as “a gathering of racist, Islamophobic bigots.” It further slanders Geller as “Queen of the Muslim Bashers” and defames the Freedom Center as “another anti-Muslim group which uses McCarthyist tactics to attack academic freedom around the country.”

These characterizations are false and defamatory. In fact, Horowitz was recently quoted by the University of North Carolina Daily Tar Heel as stating, during a speech at that university, that “there are good Muslims and there are bad Muslims, and the majority of Muslims are probably good Muslims – decent, law abiding and desiring peace. But there were good Germans too, and in the end, they didn’t make a damn’s worth of difference.”

These people are just another "anti-freedom group which uses McCarthyist tactics to attack academic freedom around the country."

When you let only one point of view in the market place, you become facist, racist, communist, plain and simple. I wonder if these leftards reconise their hypocracy?

  • Schlomotion

David Horowitz has a breakthrough and slams his hand on the table and says "I KNOW!!!! They accuse Israel of apartheid. We'll accuse Muslims of apartheid. We'll run the usual broadside ad in the school paper. We'll bait the ISO. It'll be GREAT! They'll say the usual crap about us, and we'll make them look like the idiots they are." I imagined that in the voice of Gilbert Gottfried, though.

      Truth does not change.

      Truth is truth.

If something was true 50 years ago, 40 years ago, 30 years ago, it is still true today.

And the truth is that only 30 years ago, there was very little confusion on this issue of Palestine.

    • Nick Shaw

      I KNOW!
David has finally hit upon the right idea to counter these muslims or, as I prefer Islamonazis and their liberal sycophants!
Just tell the truth about them using the same words the libs and muslims use in their lies!
It's a stroke of genius, I tell you!
      You're such a dork, Helen.
(and it IS about time you called a spade a spade in your announcements, David. Despite the false outrage they exhibit when they are told the truth. You know it, we know it and even they know it! Good on you!)

So then turn the tables: Let Horowitz make his claims and then prove him wrong.
Oh that's right you can't because the facts are on his side so therefore you fascists need to silence him.
I imagine your voice as that of Adolf Hitler's by the way.

      • Schlomotion

You should put an asterisk next to your use of the word "fascist" to denote that you mean it like Likud does and not like a socia.list does.

        • cjk

I mean it to describe people like you.
Funny, now I'm imagining you voice as that of Joseph Goebbels.

          • Schlomotion

Pygmies imagine Gary Coleman to be Wilt Chamberlain.

  • RonCarnine

It is always a tragedy when in this land of the free you have groups that fight to silence the voice of opposition. You might not agree what someone else's opinion is but you have not right to disrupt a meeting. Go and listen, then if you can prove your point do so during question and answer time. Be polite and speak your mind. But be ready, your opinion may just get shot full of holes! Go back and review the 2000 offer made by Israel to the Palestinians under the leadership of Bill Clinton. The Palestinians were offered 95% of what they wanted including East Jerusalem as Palestinian head quarters and still they turned it down. Temple University used to be a Christian university, what happened to it? Freedom of speech in this country means you can speak out against the Palestinian's and Islam. Our forefathers bought that right with their blood, no one has the right to take it away.

Arab apartheid / Muslim apartheid are the largest 'apartheid systems', that exist today. PART 1

Virtually all non-Arabs and/or non-Muslims are second class citizens. Among minorities that feel the wrath of the bigoted Arab-Muslim world are:
    * Berbers (native N. Africans, before Arab invasion).
    * Copts (indigenous Egyptians suffer from both: Arab racism and Islamic bigotry).
    * Kurds (Examples include: [Saddam's] Iraq and Syria.
    * Blacks, in Arab lands or in Arab ruled Africa like the genocide in the Sudan and slavery in both Sudan and in Mauritania.
    * Asians, particularly in the Gulf Arab states. [Sex slaves or "plain" slaves).
    * Maronites-Christians [Native Lebanese] suffer from both Arab ethnic racism and religious bigotry, like the massacres in the 1970s by local Muslims and by Palestinian/Syrian forces.
    * Assyrians, are/have been persecuted both racially and religiously. Still very much marginalized in Iraq, for example.
    * Iran is not an Arab country but racism is huge against Kurds, Jews, Turkmens, etc. So is anti-non-Muslim bigotry against Christians, Bahai, Zoroastrians and other in the Islamic republic.

    Islamic Apratheid Part 2

Turkey is also a Muslim non-Arab country and Kurds, Greeks, Armenians and other ethnicities have been through much suffering, genocide. Still there's great wide racism against non-Turkish ethnic groups. Turkey's policy in Cyprus has also been recognized as a real Apartheid by many. All non-Muslims are automatically branded as "foreigners" at the "moderate" Islamic supremacy of Turkey.

    * All non-Msulims in 'Islamic Apartheid state' of S. Arabia.

    * Asians [slaves!] in the Gulf Arab states.

    * Al-Akhdam in Yemen.

    * Gypsies in Jordan.

    Islamic-Arab "Palestine" apartheid:

    * Ahmadiyya Muslims are harshly persecuted in (Pakistan and in) the "Palestinian" Apartheid authority and/or by Hamas.

    * Descendants of slaves of the Bedouins are still stigmatized by racist "Palestinians".

    * Christians are discriminated, persecuted against [especially since Y. Arafat's Islamization of Bethlehem], by Palestine authority and Hamas regime.

    Islamic apartheid Part 3

    Anti-Jewish Apartheid:

1.) The Arab racist apartheid against the Jews attempted genocide since the 1920s, (Like Mufti of "Palestine" at his incited massacres, and Muslim Brotherhood who've called simply 'to kill Jews').
2.) Chased out a Million Jews in the late 1940.
3.) Boycotted and demonized [every logical defensive action is branded "racist"] the Jewish democratic-free-equal-to-all state only because it's the "other". It is neither Muslim nor purely Arab.
4.) The Arab racist world continues to play w/Arab-Palestinians (grandchildren of Arab immigrants) like ping-pong against Israel.

    Islamic apartheid Part 5

As if we don't know the 'Arab oil lobby's power' over the UN and other major international organizations and some African officials to go along with the Arab propaganda.

Despite some non-Arabs who jump on this wagon out of: ignorance, of confusion complex, or of sheer bigotry, never forget, that this entire "apartheid, racism" label was invented by Arab racists ganging up in the UN since 1975.

Even promoter of the apartheid-slur [which was actually invented in 1961 by A. Shukairy, who was the henchman and spokesman for the infamous Mufti al-Husseini the Mufti, notorious for being A. Hitler's ally and adviser on exterminating the Jews. Shukairy also called to throw the Jews into the sea] J. Carter admitted on CNN: "I recognize that Israel is a wonderful democracy with freedom of speech and equality of treatment under the law between Arab Israelis and Jewish Israelis."

    Islamic apartheid Part 6

Incidentally, the lying Pallywood machine also created a fake "memorandum" claiming that N. Mandela ever uttered this crappy analogy.

    Last but not least:

Isn't it true that the anti-Jewish "apartheid" slur campaign is: 1) to demonize Jews and 2) to hide the real apartheid practiced by the Arab-Islamic world?
