“Fairy tales are more than true; not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.” ― G.K. Chesterton
…But will those dragons destroy us in the process?
People can come dragons. Specifically, those with voracious appetites & few scruples. They live among us.
LOL Poor Wile E. Obama! XD
Mary Sue…you make my day and just about everyday. You hold to your position and speak it out in a way that brings a smile and activates the mind. LOL… plz come back often!
I truly believe you are a Christian and that pleases my heart tremendously. Thanks for being there when things go screwy in this world under the power of the Adversary, and reminding readers of this forum to wake up and see the Light.
Cheers and may God bless you!
I'm addicted, so rest assured my visits will be frequent, barring catastrophe (like a power failure). And yes I am a Christian, and a strong supporter of Israel.
And you are welcome!
I'm glad you and I will spend eternity together, but I'm afraid you'll have to tone it down a bit once we go through the Pearly Gates! LOL
I am a resident of Singapore and despite being separated by the Pacific, I share the values the American founders shared, small government, individual freedom and freedom of speech.I am a resident of Singapore and despite being separated by the Pacific, I share the values the American founders shared, small government, individual freedom and freedom of speech. Islam cannot be criticised in Singapore. The principles of America's founders contrast so greatly to the paternalistic, top down society and government in Singapore, where Singaporeans are made to learn whatever the government wants them to learn and those in authority being overlords of those under them. To the 49% who voted for Mitt Romney: I stand with you in staring tyranny in its face.
The 49% in America is not alone in confronting the tyranny of Leftism. A segment of the political opposition in Singapore, completely ignorant of the damage Obama did to America, wants to implement European-style socialism in Singapore. An opposition party has come up with a healthcare policy paper which proposes the implementation of a healthcare policy which is similar to ObamaCare (Link: http://yoursdp.org/_ld/0/5_sdp-national-he.pdf). There are loud calls for a progressive tax rates, egalitarianism and capital gains tax. The people are so dependent on the government that instead of calling out for a smaller one, they are calling for a nanny government, never mine if their rights are infringed by taxation. The current government of the day in Singapore attempts to mix socialism, capitalism and regulations together, with socialism and regulations making Singapore a costly place to live in. The left leaning political opposition wants to replace the current government with a bigger, more socialist one. Never mine if their rights are infringed when the government starts seizing wealth. Articles and comment threads in opposition mainstream websites, such as TR Emeritus, capitalism is demeaned, class warfare rhetoric frequent, Republicans demonised as "greedy" and Obama praised. Leftism has reached Singapore's shores. The right-of-centre is marginalised.
Singapore goes to the polls in 2016. America votes for her next president in 2016. My hope is that conservative politicians are returned to both the White House and Congress. Democrats must be reduced to a minority in Congress so that Obama and Pelosi for enabling the Muslim Brotherhood to carry out their unholy agenda, both in the United States and the Muslim world. Ditch non-conservative Republicans such as John Boehner from the GOP. Shame on Boehner. Instead of rallying the GOP to resist the Obama administration, he called for compromise with the socialist/fascist/Islamist Democrats. The free world will continue to look to America!
Thanks, Anon. Maybe you could come live here and fight with us…but will they let you leave?
The good thing is Singapore is not like North Korea. Anyone can leave Singapore anytime and take up residence overseas. In fact, many have done so.
Anon.–how do you like Singapore's health care system? I always thought it should be the model we follow.
Put it this way. Singapore's healthcare system is one of the best in the world. Just as much as patients all over the world flock to America for medical treatment, patients in Europe and Asia come to Singapore for advanced medical treatment.
However, there are some in Singapore at the lower end who can't afford medical treatment for serious medical conditions, such as cancer or hypertension, where treatment costs are usually 5 figures high. The political opposition, typical of the Left, blames Free Markets, while ignoring the current government's socialist policies that have caused Singapore to be an expensive place to live in, which results in diminished healthcare savings. Take 2 examples. If you have been to Singapore, you may have been aware of this term called GST. It is a tax, levied on consumers purchasing goods and services, at a rate of 7%. The current government implemented it in the name of redistributing wealth from the rich and uses the money to partially subsidise healthcare, housing and education. The result? An inflated cost of food, basic goods and services. The government is also the biggest landowner in Singapore. They obtained the land through seizing it from farmers and villagers – classic socialism, in the name of redistributing it in the form of cheap public housing. This makes private housing expensive, due to low supply and public housing equally expensive, because, as we all know, socialist projects are expensive ones.
The disturbing thing is, instead of calling for lesser government regulations and the undoing of expensive policies to lower the cost of living, which in turn generates greater healthcare savings, the political opposition want to replace the current system with socialised medicine, NHS style.
By the way the post above under "Resident of Singapore" is also by me. I tried to change my online identity while submitting my earlier comment and ended up with repeated submissions.

Sucks just like the great one.
As long as the left controls the public schools, the Media, and the vote counting apparatus in the
urban centers, conservatives will always be out in the cold..
Thank you very much Singaporean Resident, for sharing your perpectives with us. I hope you will continue to participate in on-line discussions such as this one.
Now, let me share my concerns. I am worried that when some of the older justices of the U.S. Supreme Court retire, Obama will nominate and the Senate will approve nominees who will go straight down the left-wing party line. For example, a left-leaning supreme court will pave the way for lawfare to be waged against the firearms industry and our right to purchase and possess firearms. We have seen what doctrinaire rules against carrying handguns leads to: In early April 2007 at Virginia Polytech, nobody among the students and faculty in one of their classroom buildings were carrying handguns. So it was that a sick disturbed man was able to kill 30 people by the time police arrived, as nobody was in a position to shoot back. But said justices will support ever more restrictions on our right to possess firearms.
By the time Obama retires in January 2017, his supreme court will be in a position to dominate our lives for many more years to come.
That's definitely a possibility. However, a subsequent President could do what FDR did to get the court to lean more his way. Certainly the left would howl, but, hey, if it's good enought for one of their guys…
We have reached the tipping point in America where the losers, the lazy, the parasites, the leeches, the moochers and the occupiers now outnumber the producers. America is gone, Amerika is here and I don't think Amerika is a place worth saving.
The US Ship of State has become a ship of fools.
I think that Wile E. Coyote image was certainly apt. Also,we're going to have more problems than we can handle. I feel bad enough. Those like wsk aren't helping.
Where's Bugs Bunny and the Roadrunner when we need them? XD
Roooadrunner, the Coyote's after you! Road-runner, if he catches you, you're through!
The Coyote really is a crazy clown! When will he learn that he never can mow him down?
Poor little Roadrunner never bothers anyone, just running down the road's his idea of having fun!
The sheeple have spoken. They will get the government they deserve.
I didn't vote for Obama. That's all I have to say.
The USA is screwed
America's been screwed before. (e.g. Great Depression) We got up and put it back together again.
Fixing what we have will be a LOT easier than building it again from scratch.
Love and don't give up.
