Islamist Atrocities and Double Standards

Pages: 1 2

“While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants,” President Obama said in response to the brutal murder of the U.S. ambassador to Libya John Christopher Stevens and three other embassy staff members.  Obama promised to “bring justice” to the killers and added:  “There is absolutely no justification to this type of senseless violence. None.”

Ambassador Stevens and embassy staff members were killed in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11.  Ambassador Stevens’ body was dragged through the streets of Benghazi by angry Muslims — the very same city that the United States and its NATO allies saved from imminent massacre at the hands of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Ambassador Stevens had said last May when he returned to Libya to serve as the U.S. ambassador:

I had the honor to serve as the U.S. envoy to the Libyan opposition during the revolution, and I was thrilled to watch the Libyan people stand up and demand their rights. Now I’m excited to return to Libya to continue the great work we’ve started, building a solid relationship between the United States and Libya, to help you, the Libyan people, achieve your goals.

Tragically, the Islamists whose lives may have been saved by Obama’s intervention into the Libyan civil war are pursuing radically anti-American goals that cost Ambassador Stevens his life.

President Obama praised Stevens as “a courageous and exemplary representative of the United States” and said that his “legacy will endure wherever human beings reach for liberty and justice.” He has pledged to bring the attackers to justice and to provide more security for our embassies. That’s fine as far as it goes.  The problem is that both Obama and his State Department have denigrated the unique importance of free speech in the pantheon of American liberties in favor of protecting the sensibilities of Muslims who are offended by speech critical of their religion.

The Benghazi murders occurred during a rocket attack on the car being used to rush Ambassador Stevens and the three other Americans from a consular building stormed by Islamists allegedly upset about a film made in the United States by U.S.-based Egyptian Coptic Christians insulting the Muslim prophet Mohammad. It was this same film that sparked an attack by Islamists on the American embassy in Cairo.

Obama had not directed any remarks specifically to the 9/11 Cairo attack, which took no lives but resulted in the destruction of the American flag and its replacement with an Islamic flag on American property. Instead, his State Department’s Cairo embassy chose only to condemn the offensive film:

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions…We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

Sensing a possible political embarrassment of appearing to defend the Egyptian Islamist attackers by condemning the object of their wrath, the White House at first tried to distance itself from the Cairo embassy statement.  But Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in responding to the news of the attack on the Libyan embassy, both condemned that attack and the film that sparked it.  She said that the U.S. deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others but that there is never any justification for violent acts as occurred in Libya. Obama took up the same refrain when he said, as quoted at the outset of the article, that “While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.”

"By including in both Obama’s and Clinton’s statements a condemnation of speech such as the offensive film that “denigrates” religious beliefs, the Obama administration is denigrating the First Amendment protection of free speech no matter how offensive it may be."

By applying their own logic: If anyone finds anything Obama or Clinton says offensive, they must shut up.

I almost hate to reply to this, but I must point out that the financing for this film was traced to an Egyptian Coptic Christian, living in America. Also, the AP traced the number of the alleged Jew making the youtube and that turned out to be the number of the Coptic Christian living outside of L.A (hat tip Debbie Schlussel and Honest Reporting). All the antisemites have to do is blame the Jews or say they are Jews and it becomes accepted as true. http://www.debbieschlussel.com/54276/sam-bacile-ahttp://honestreporting.com/anti-islam-movie-draws

I highly doubt you are a physicist. If you were, you would not have time to make an idiot of yourself online.

And even if you were, screaming that you have a university degree means absolutely nothing.

      • Pontotoc Bill

DeShawn, as you are obviously a racist who hates the Jewish people, I find you claim to be a physicist to be laughable. You do not have the brain power to achieve that. However, I do have the ability to have flown fighter jets for the US Air Force and I can see your inane mental processes.

Debbie Schlussel is not the racist you claim. Your projecting your own foibles on her.

BTW: I am not Jewish so you do not have that line of attack available.

        Can.

YOU'RE a physicist?!? Then why do you sound like an anti-semitic neanderthal?

    • Chris

Moral equivalence means finding something (today, it means finding literally anything) that you can use to claim equal morality.

Christians are “mad” and Muslims are “mad” and therefore Christianity and Islam are morally equal.

Those are non-salient issues and this statement: “…once again you see christians mad at muslims and muslims mad at christians. and once again, it’s the same hook nosed devil fanning the flames behind the scenes…” indicates the stupidity or ignorance of its author.

Can I please ask all the straight-thinking people out there to just say to any and all Leftists/liberals/Democrats the following — over and over and over, from the mountains to the prairies from the sewers to the observation decks: "It is my 'religious belief' that it is a holy act to insult and denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Now, Mr. Leftist, what are you going to do?"
Make sense, everyone? It won't work, but it's got the best chance, I think.

Well, It seems like Obamas foreign policies are going to bite him in the butt. The people he was apologetically helping, and actually instilled in power are now attacking the US just before an election. But, really, this is entirely his fault. Too bad, I wish his policies do succeed, but really, he had ample warning with the micro attempt at 'democracy' in Gaza.

    • furdmonster

You'd think. But I've been amazed at how thoroughly the media has played interference for him.

  • PaulRevereNow

It's quite interesting to note that the Associated Press ran an article yesterday, "American Killed in Libya protest over Film," by Maggie Michael and Sarah el Deeb. I quote from this article, "The protests were sparked by outrage over a film…produced by an Israeli film-maker living in California…Sam Bacile, a 56-year old California real-estate developer, who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew, and who said he produced, wrote, and directed the entire film."
Guess what? "Sam Bacile" doesn't exist; but the AP, foaming at the mouth in their eagerness to blame a Jew, didn't even bother to check their sources or their facts. The AP has no honor; don't believe anything they say.

These are Muslim atrocities and not an Islamist atrocities as if Muslims are not Islamists!! All Muslims are Islamists by their own definition. If a Muslim doesn't promote Islam by any means he can't remain a Muslim. So let's forget this Islamist business, it is just a fake word coined by Muslims and their apologists to give all Muslims a pass for their murderous activities!

    • Spider

You are right, Did you see a single Mu-slim anywhere in the world get up in front of the TV cameras and condem
9-11. Not one did. This meant they are either active in the cause of Jihad or suporter of Jihad which makes them one in the same. Therefore the good Mu-slim – bad Mu-slim argument is false They cannot be separated.

      • Carbondioxide

I tend to think the same way, but do not forget the pervasive power of coercion, persecution and threat of death to you and your family for standing up in those societies where the head of state is named Mohammed and whose government serves the Mohammedans. It is the "secret" of the spread of Islam. Here in the US the First Amendment has always been asserted for this horrible "religion" while their infiltrators influence/direct the federal investigation of the "Mohammed" moviemaker.
I recall criticism of Iraqis not standing up iin the era of Saddam put in perspective by the long history of US school boards putting their tails between their legs upon receipt of a letter from the ACLU because someone prayed at a football game.
Not to pick on schoolboards since many of us shirk our proper obligations to dissent.
In a similar way, lawfare, infiltration and other nonviolent jihadi methods will be working together with the threat of violence to work the Islamic black magic right here at home. It is highly effective, and as Frank
Gaffney and ObamaYoMama point out, our government has nothing whatsoever to even detect let alone counter stealth jihad.

"These are Muslim atrocities and not an Islamist atrocities as if Muslims are not Islamists!! All Muslims are Islamists by their own definition."

Technically and literally you are correct. However, distinguishing between Islamists and "the other Muslims" supposedly creates an opportunity for the "non-conforming" Muslims to become reformers without pointing out the inconvenient fact that they'd have to reject the fundamentals of their religion to "reform" it.

This failed thinking comes from poor understanding of religion and history. The advocates of "Islamic Reform" like to point out that "Christianity reformed after about 14 centuries" (false), so Islam should be ready by now."

How simple can you get? Reform happens the same way as fermentation? You simply wait long enough? Can we reproduce that? I didn't think so.

This murder of Americans in libya should remind us all that islam has been at war with western civilization since its formation. It is a death cult whose members delight in slaughtering defenseless and innocent people. islam's depravity does not have any limits. There is no doubt that pictures of the ambassador's tortured body is being sold in the marketplaces across the middle east by sadists who thrive in the misery of others. The mindset that produces such outrages is formed at an early age in the pages of the koran the sinister sermons of imams who preach hatred throughout the blighted islamic world.

Obama said: “I consider it part of my responsibility as President of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam whenever they appear.” So, what is he going to do about the rioting in Egypt, Libya, and Yemen? If thousands of Muslims attacking an embassy isn't a negative stereotype…

    • objectivefactsmatter

"If thousands of Muslims attacking an embassy isn't a negative stereotype…"

It's not. It's stereotypical behavior. Now Obama must fight this revelation of how typical it is for agitated Muslims to react this way. The negative stereotype is when we notice this is not the isolated event (like "workplace violence") claimed by Obama and his followers. Some times stereotypes can be used to accurately convey ideas that are generally true. One should not assume that stereotypes are universal indicators of the behavior of each class member. Discretion is called for, but one can't argue that stereotypes are useless or wrong to use for any case. That would be stereotyping too.

News reporters all over the West must stifle statistics about crimes of all scales. Only when they are documented carrying signs and flags do we discover the undeniable membership of the instigators in these events. Many more of these events are disguised by government orders and in some cases self-censorship from sympathetic editors and publishers. See how easy it is to understand the riots in France if you've never read anything about them before now.

So Obama is being true to his words in this case; he's fighting "negative stereotypes of Islam" by shifting the blame to the film. I'm sure NASA has his back here and will come up with some way to restore lost pride through fantastic claims about supposed inventions. That will cure everything.

The so-called offensive film had nothing to do with the attacks on the embassies in Lybia and Egypt. The attacks were well planed in advance, intended to add insult to injury of the 9/11 anniversery

Isaac vs. Ismael – it's obvious looking around the world which line the blessings follow – and which of the 2 was and is a wild donkey ruled by 12 imams/rulers [Check Genesis 16:11 & 17:20, written LONG before the man in the cave wrote his incoherent screed]; Ismailites are anti-Christ AND anti-Jewish. Their main talent is bloody-minded mob behavior and fanatical violence. Christopher Stevens was another well-meaning liberal who cast pearls before swine and in turn was torn in pieces by them.
As a conservative Christian, I am used to libs and lefties and atheists mocking and belittling both my Savior and my religious faith. It's an enduring faith. It can take the hits. Why can't the sons of Ismail get over it and let their faith stand up to ridicule? Is their religion so flimsy they need to protect it from inquiry and mocking? To hell with them…they are ignorant and dangerous.

    • objectivefactsmatter

"It's an enduring faith. It can take the hits. Why can't the sons of Ismail get over it and let their faith stand up to ridicule?"

Because their beliefs are based on indoctrination, not reason. Unless you count the circular reasoning that is part of any indoctrination. The more obvious the truth is, the more painful it is to have it exposed.

Seriously. Think about if King David had raped Bathsheba and this was supposedly the parentage of the Messiah. Now imagine people confronting you about this. It might get to you after a while. The true history of Islam is much, much worse.

Muslims believe Allah is God not because they want to or because of some love of the story. Probably most would never accept it if they had been taught the true history before the religious claims were made. Most were indoctrinated as they were learning to speak, or they were lied to by slick propagandists who also lied about the true history.

Only a criminal would be proud of the true history of Islam. Most Muslims are probably either ignorant of the history, or ashamed but for various reasons motivated to perpetuate the claims by forces we can't always fully comprehend.

And we must reject sharia thinking in America. Our Justice must ban Islamic ideology from our society and courts, including antisemitic books and classes contents from our schools and temples. We need to pay attention to find out who and where are the judges and lawmakers willing to open the door for that kind of reasoning so far from American legislation. Justices, laws and opinions must keep safe our Constitution's ideals.

It is time to circle the wagons (a deliberately politically incorrect choice of words on my part). It is time to stop giving foreign aid out. All of it. Not one more dime to anyone. If we believe in a market system let's pursue that idea. Those who succeed will survive. In such a situation Israel would thrive without our aid because it would not have to spend so much money dealing with Arab armies trained and financed by our aid. It is time to close our bases and bring home our armies of peacekeepers occupying hostile territory. All of them. No more Japan, Germany, Korea. It is time most of all to build the greatest technological fleet of drones and robots, submarines and bombers the world has ever seen and to arm them with up to date conventional and nuclear weapons. If we do not update our nuclear weapons we will be a secondary player on the world stage in a decade or two no matter who is elected and what the economy does. We need to take a stand and tell people like the Palestinians who danced on 9/11/2001, that if they dance again they will be seen from the sky and the sky will rain down death on their heads and the heads of their children. Concentrate resources in technological innovation and no one will be able to raise a flag over our embassies without having their country erupt in flames and gamma radiation.

One last thing. Undo the folly of British 20th century diplomacy. Give Mecca back to the Turks and eliminate the Saudis and their terrorist cult of Wahabi. We can find a peaceful middle ground with the Turks. The Saudis will continue to be our most earnest enemies for all time and we, naive fools that we are, will think them great 'friends' all the way to the graveyard. In such a world as I have laid out the Iranians will no longer be a threat. If they act instead of bluffing, they will become a test range for our technology.

But such a world shall not be. We will continue to be the proud, trusting fools that we are. We will continue supporting people who hate our country, both in the Middle East and the White House.
