Is France Safe For Jews?

The despicable murders in Toulouse, France, on Monday, March 19, 2012 that took the lives of Rabbi Yonatan Sandler (30), his two small children, Aryeh (3) and Gavriel (6), and Miriam Monsonego, the eight-year-old daughter of the Ozer Ha’Torah school’s principal by Mohammed Merah (24), an Arab-Muslim French citizen, has raised anew the question of whether France is a safe place for Jews.

When this writer asked Lyda Peltz, a French citizen born to Jewish parents who came from North Africa, if France is safe for Jews, her response was fast and furious, “France is no longer a safe place for Jews.”  Lyda, who moved to Israel several years ago, joined thousands of other French Jews whose accented voices fill the streets of Netanya, Ashkelon, and Eilat. She contends that the influx of millions of Muslims into France enabled the anti-Semitism that already existed to rise above surface and become legitimatized.

A spate of violent anti-Semitic attacks on Jews throughout France during the 2008-09 “Cast Lead” Israeli operation in Gaza, aided in great measure by the French media’s anti-Israel posture, prompted the exodus of thousands of Jews from France. In the aftermath, terrorists crashed two vehicles, one loaded with firebombs, into the façade of a synagogue in Toulouse, France January 6, 2009, while a lecture was going on. Fortunately, there was only physical damage and no one suffered any injuries. This attack was, however, the second serious terrorist attack on Jewish targets in France in less than a week.

A 29-year old Jewish man was attacked on January 4, 2009 at a Paris subway station by a gang of 20 people who yelled “Palestine will win.” They hit the man in the face and filmed the scene. Three days later, a 15-year-old Jewish girl in suburban Paris (Villiers-le-Bel) accused a gang of ten which included three of her classmates, of an anti-Semitic assault. She had been thrown to the ground, kicked, punched, and the attackers told her that they were “avenging Palestinians.”  On January 8, 2009, “Death to the Jews” was spray-painted outside a primary school in Nice. On that same day, the ORT Bramson High School in Marseille was attacked by vandals who threw aerosol cans soaked with flammable liquid at the school building.

Prior to last Monday’s calculated murders, the brutal murder of Ilan Halimi, a23-year-old Parisian Jew in 2006, was the country’s most shocking.  Halimi had been lured to an apartment by a female gang member, and sadistically tortured to death by Arab and African Muslim Frenchmen. One gang member admitted to having put out a cigarette on Halimi’s face “because he did not like Jews.”  The anti-Semitism of this gang of barbarians went much further.  According to one witness the torturers recited verses from the Koran while Halimi was tortured.

On August 9, 1982, during the First Lebanon War, Arab terrorists used grenades and machine guns in an attack that targeted Chez Jo Goldenberg, the famous Jewish establishment located in the Marais district of Paris.  Six people were killed and 22 wounded.

The work of the French media and academia reveals that a majority of members are not only leftist in their outlook, but anti-American and anti-Israel as well and, elements are allied with radical Islamists. Official policies of the French government since 1967 show they have sought cooperation with the Arab world at the expense of Israel. The actions of the media, academia and the government have all contributed to the rise of anti-Semitism.  However, the multi-cultural and political-correct French elites, who have looked the other way rather than face the violent excesses of many of the Arab Muslim immigrants, and have not spoken out against the radical Islamic imams who preach hatred against all non-Muslims and Jews in particular, are ultimately responsible for the harvest of anti-Semitism being reaped in today’s France.

The export of conflicts through immigrants and minorities is nothing new nor singular. Turks and Kurds wage a silent, substitute war in many guest countries similar to Tamils and Indians, Russians and Georgians, Chinese and Tibetians. The Israeli, Arab conflict is just one of many being exported to France and expecting France to solve the adversary's problems or support exclusivley one side is credulous.

Lyda Peltz has joined Ya'akov Katz in generating a mass hysteria to scare Jews into an exodus out of France. It boggles the mind that three murders, heinous as they are, result in demagogues trying to convince 607,000 people to flee a country, and doubtlessly into West Bank settlements because "France enabled the anti-Semitism that already existed to rise above surface and become [sic] legitimatized."

Part of the outcry, according to Puder, is that pundits were outraged that some Jews experienced dislike during Operation Cast Lead, when Israel was dropping white phosphorus on Palestinians. This is supposed to be likable and endearing behavior, and the expected outcome was merriment and camaraderie. However, this was thwarted by the wicked French media. Some street fighting ensued, and three Jews got into fights in France over the next three years, causing "thousands" of Jews to move out of France, leaving hundreds of thousands behind.

This bodes poorly for France, which is still guilty of the Dreyfus Affair from 1890 and for falling to Germany in 1940, not attacking Iraq fast enough in 2001, and worst of all, for allowing an Algerian diaspora population to develop in the country. This is the fault, according to Puder, of "multi-cultural and [sic] political-correct French elites, who have looked the other way rather than face the violent excesses of many of the Arab Muslim immigrants" but this should not be construed in any way to endorse lone Norwegians to shoot children or bomb banks.

Maria Sliwa and Daniel Pipes also say France's Jews (which have jumped to 650,000 since the beginning of the article), are still thinking about leaving. They will stay, says Puder, if the wicked French media becomes the kind and admirable Jewish media and begins to run favorable coverage of Israel. Puder lives in none of these countries.

Schlomotion is extremely ignorant in thinking that three murders alone is upsetting French Jews. Rather it is the ongoing constant attacks on Jews by the six million Muslims in France combined with the callous attitude of the French government.
And, yes, more and more Jews are choosing to move to Israel where Jews can defend themselves unlike in WWII. France will eventually face a growing hostile Mulslim population that will turn more against them when there are less Jews to attack. France will lose its Jews and be the poorer while Israel will become the stronger. All thanks to the Muslims and their anti-Semitic supporters. It is all working out for the best.

Viva le France! Viva France's choice of Sharia law. Viva France's 5,000,000 Muslims. Viva France's coming conversion to Islam. Viva a French Caliphate in 10 years time. All the Viva's add up to the destruction of France as we knew it. From attacks on innocents to defiling the Dreyfus statue, France is as close to 1939 in regard to the destruction of Liberte Fraternite Egalite as you can get and as anti Semetic as was Europe then .
Boycott yourselves into a frenzy, you only look more like biggots and retards in your knowledge of Middle East history as it applies Israel. Your understanding of Islam and the Muslims is abysmal. This ignorance will come back to haunt you yet.

The French must forget that Jesus was a very ultradox Jew and a master Kabbalist in healing.

france has the third largest Jewish community in the world. But, just as christians are fleeing iraq and egypt en masse because islamic murderous persecution and intimidation by muslims, french Jews must now read the writing on the wall and, those who are able to do so, should leave for safer places. france will become increasingly hostile to Jews as islam grows in influence and the violence and brutality of sharia law is applied in more and more of the country. Jews must leave while it is still possible. At least this time, unlike the 1930s, there is a secure place for them to go and where they can live in freedom and dignity as Jews unafraid of anti-semitic and genocidal muslims. The french aliyah to Israel should get underway as soon as practical.

If you think of Europe as a giant body France would be it`s anus so why would any Jew want to live in Europe`s anus?

Ha! France will soon be unsafe for the French! All those brainwashed frustrated little kids will be young adults soon. Those cultural icons — nudes in the Louvre? They may not exist in 100 years. Or if they do, they will be hidden in a cave disintegrating….

If I may add one note to this very good article/recap by Joseph Puder, the official count of 6 million muslims, has been the “official” number for close to twenty years! In France, categorizing people by either race or religion is against the law therefore the true number of French-muslims is unknown to the populace. The Gauls (ie: non-muslims) say that if illegal immigration and procreation is taken in consideration, the 6 million count has likely doubled in 20 years; to at least 10 million muslims for a country’s population of 65 million.
Official reports about the total number of anti-Semitic attacks are no longer reliable, because officials rarely report them as such. Thankfully, there are websites where French Jews can go report anti-Semitic events. France is no longer a free country with a Free Press, because all of France’s Press is subsidized directly and indirectly by government.

Six doubles to ten? There is proof of this "doubling?" There is no proof of the doubling because France does not force Muslims to wear badges? Which of your statements is true?

      • Annika

        Put on your thinking cap before you read;
"the 6 million count has LIKELY doubled to AT LEAST 10 million". The truth is in the details, but you are not interested in truth, are you? and neither are French officials.
Funny enough it took the Americans (Pew Research) to study the issue, although it admits inaccuracies, and does not account for illegal immigrants… Have fun reading, it's in French http://www.lefigaro.fr/actualite-france/2011/02/0

I bought six thinking caps. No matter what I did, I could not make them double into ten thinking caps because 1.666666666 does not equal 2, even using the metric system.

Ironic,to say the least, that Jews who believe France is unsafe for them should seek refuge in occupied Palestine.Seriously, what are they thinking.muchiboy

I commented a few days ago on some Russian Jews emigrating to Atlantic Canada from Israel.I believe their story was on CBC radio but I missed the programme and can't find a link.Anyway, one of the immigrants,a women, claims she was made to feel like a Jew in Russia,a Russian in Israel, but a fellow Canadian here. That was nice to hear.Really,if the west and eastern Europe had made the Jew feel at home and secure there would have been less need for a sanctuary in Palestine,or a re-created Israel.Like the cycle of violence,it just goes round and round.muchiboy

This is all so funny if you really know your history. The only true descendant of Muhammad was Abed Ar Rahman who escaped to Spain when the phony usurpers massacred his family around 700. He had red hair and blue eyes because his mother was a Christian. He had the last true copy of the real Koran, but it was stolen. The Koran is as Christian as the Bible if anyone would bother to read either one of those two books before yapping in ignorance. Rahman and his family, developed the entire region of Spain, southern France up to Albania into a vibrant trading center until the jews took over the Vatican and genocided the Muslim/Christian intermarried families who are now known as the Cathars of Carcassone region. Later the jewish 'bankers' genocided the Christians in what are called the Napoleonic wars, stole all of the Christian wealth and property of France and now Karma is coming around for a visit. Boo hoo.

April showers us with her wisdom. What are you on, girl?

April, You forgot to mention how the Jooos also killed the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.

Holy smoke, what some people are willing to believe. Takes me clear back to the late 1960's with the doped up counterculture and all their claptrap. But it's all dem JOOOOO bankers and their control of world finance & media that really cracks me up.

Hey, April chickie, I'll make the math simple. Right now six million Israeli Jews are surrounded by three hundred million screaming Arab Muslims in twenty-two nations mostly armed to the teeth. Not counting sixty million goosestepping Iranians led by fanatical ayatollahs, of course. Gee, somehow I think those evil JOOOOOZ just might be the underdogs. So tell me please about the tremendous global Jew conspiracy to dominate the world. You're as laughable as some silly sophomore who just digested her dogeared copy of Kahlil Gabran's The Prophet. Might as well lie down behind an Israeli bulldozer and make a meaningful contribution to the world.

  • Ghostwriter

There are also French Jews and some Russian Jews emigrating to the United States. But,you wouldn't like that, would you muchiboy? You may be able to hide your Jew hatred but it's still there, bubbling beneath the surface.

  • steven L

France is no diff from other EU countries. They hate more the Muslims than the Jews. They fear not the Jews but the Muslims definitely. The Fr. Jews are willing to live with the fear.

  • WilliamJamesWard

Friends in France write that violence is in their neighborhood but when Muslim criminal activity takes
place it is not widely reported and takes a full riot to get the MSM attention, bad days ahead for France.
