Gingrich Declares War on the Anti-Republican Media

Pages: 1 2

Gingrich will point out the lack of left-wing outrage over our involvement in Libya. As a senator, Obama insisted that the President needed congressional approval to send troops into harm’s way — unless the country was under imminent threat. Yet for the joint bombing of Libya, a mission the Obama administration called “humanitarian,” Obama sought no congressional approval.

Gingrich will stand up against explicit or implied charges of racism. He scored by not backing down from Fox’s Juan Williams, who accused him of racial callousness for saying poor urban children lack working role models, and for calling Obama a “food stamp president.” Gingrich stood his ground and engaged in a needed, if uncomfortable, national discussion about the damage done to the family by the welfare state. This resonates with voters who are tired of being accused of racism for questioning whether the welfare state now hurts the very people it purports to help.

The White House narrative of why Obama should be re-elected is this: Obama rescued the country from destruction — and Republicans stand in his way from doing even bigger and better things for the country. Obama insists that “every economist” agrees that TARP, the bailouts and stimulus rescued an economy headed for Armageddon.

Gingrich will forcefully argue that in the early ’80s, Reagan saw higher unemployment, inflation and interest rates. But no one calls that period The Great Recession. Unlike Obama, Reagan cut taxes, slowed down the rate of domestic spending and continued deregulation. And the economy took off, averaging — by this stage in the Reagan recovery — between 6.5 and 7 percent quarterly growth vs. the current anemic 2 percent.

The media will not properly scrutinize Obama’s narrative. Count on them, however, to examine and reject Gingrich’s narrative that Obama’s policies place a dangerous and hard drag on the economy.

Gingrich has declared war on the anti-Republican media pro-liberal bias and double standard that give Democrat candidates a built in 8- to 10-point advantage. It’s about time. We’ve got a country to save.

Who was it that said ,"Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel?"

It's important to understand the msm is on the side of the dp/left, and back them up to the false premise they start from, but use their bias to go over their heads to Americans, like Reagan did. Don't get snappy, laugh at them.

Newt will bury himself if he goes after the media, just by dint of his uncanny ability to make an @ss of himself.

  • crackerjack

Newt is an accident waiting to happen and its going to be real ugly. This guy has more skeletons in his closet than Cout Dracula and neither the Press nor the Dems have started loading their guns yet.

Should this unreliable egocentric top the list, the GOP could well be in for a mid-election implosion , with all involved picking up the pieces and trying to advert compleat default with a substitute candidate.

    • Maher

1° You know things we ignore for sure. Why don’t you speak out? What are your sources?
2° Newt didn’t break any law. Would you suggest changing our laws, just to fit your (and your islamofascists likes) delirium?

In American politics there's nobody with more skeletons in his closet than Barak Obama. You wouldn't know about if you believed the socialist media, but well over half of the population does not.

      • Jim_C

I'll bite, though I'm pretty sure you're just another low-info boob.

        What skeletons?

        • reader

Yes, please do bite. All Obama's family – self-admitted Communists and sympathizers – are skeletons in my book. Not to mention his Mid-West Academy connections, terrorists writing his books and blessing his political career, etc, etc. Speaking about low-inform boobs, inform yourself:

What skeletons? What about the fact that B.O. isn't a natural born citizen of the U.S.? His father, B.O. Sr., was born in Kenya; a fact that B.O. admits in his book
"The Audacity of Hope." Thus B.O. isn''t eligible to be POTUS. What about his college transcripts and his Harvard Law School records? How did he get through Harvard Law School, and get onto their Law Review, if he wasn't much of a student(as he admits)? And what about his mansion in Oak Park? Boy, he went through some shady deals to get that house–with a no interest mortgage; at well below market price! And I'm sure this just scratches the surface.

          • Jim_C

Ah, a birther bozo, for whom reality is but an illusion! Do me a favor: stay front and center during the election season with that stuff.

Again, I must ask: does no one on the lunatic fringe know any lawyers, investigators? Someone with some resources with which to get to the bottom of this? Where's ol' Trump? What happened to his little charade?

I think you lunatics must not know any lawyers or investigators, since the job of lawyer or investigator requires intelligence, and intelligent people tend not to associate with birther bozos.

          • reader

So what about Kutz and his book? Nobody disputes anything. Just pretends that it does not exist – like you pretend that I haven't responded to your not-so-clever post, willingnly misinformed.

    • fiddler

Gee, can we FINALLY see Barack Obama's college admissions records, his medical records and everything else? Or would we be called some new label for doing that. Let's see they have already used "Brithers".

I'm sure that crackerjack really cares whether Newt is elected or not. Maybe he merely enjoys the idea.

Do you really care about how the media influences elections? That is the REAL thrust of this article. Is there anyway we can have balance, or is the media so shifted to the left that Barney Frank is a moderate to them?

  • davarino

I remember as a child learning that the USSR were fed propaganda and how proud we were that didnt happen here in the states. Looking back now I realize there was a problem even then, here in the states. I remember how odd it was that no matter which network news channel you watched, they were all reporting the same thing, at the same time. It doesnt have to be in your face, outright lies, like Pravda. It can be subtle, kind of like snake charming. Just enough to give your guy the edge.

It's not just the MSM, many conservative new sources (National Review, American Spectator, Drudge Report) are sounding the call against nominating Newt Gingrich. Conservative media personalities like Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter are warning against having Newt as the nominee and/or letting the process drag out for months.

    • Jim_C

Pretty astute advice, which probably won't work on a party who changed favorite candidates more often than Imelda Marcos changed shoes. No better case than how Perry was the front runner before he even entered the race…until he got in and opened his mouth.

  • Reason_For_Life

Gingrich will "forcefully argue" like he did while pimping for the pharmaceutical industry to get Medicare part D passed.

Gingrich is a big government Republican. If, in return for the satisfaction of hearing a president excoriate the press, you're willing to see an explosive increase in spending at least equal to what Bush and Obama have already done, then by all means vote for Gingrich.

  • Red Baker

I'm confident Newt will defeat Obama and discredit the "news media" in his campaign. A very nice twofer for America's future. Then he will balance the budget, restore strong growth, regain respect for America, greatly reduce the bite of regulation, allow an energy boom, and dismantle socialism.

  • FriendofGaryCooper

"…you're willing to see an explosive increase in spending at least equal to what Bush and Obama have already done…" You're crazy. Gingrich CUT taxes in the Republicans Contract with America, back in 1994, remember? And he didn't take $1.6 million from Fannie Mae, like the press claimed. He took $35,000. And at this point, nobody cares about his one or two dalliances; that's because Newt has the brains to see through the baloney that the Democrats and the Muslims spew, and the courage to tell them where to get off. He'll also restore our all-important alliance with Israel, and he'll put a tax on Chinese imports; to help creaate a demand for American manufactured goods. And he'll repeal the job-killing Obamacare; and allow America to drill for its own oil. Nothing wrong with ANY of this.

    Hey Newt,
Don't look now but media bias has been around since the red scare of the 50's!
They never met a commie they couldn't enbrace and defend.
Oh, how bout the 80's when every night on the ole "objective" media, spewed venom
about anything Reagan or his administration did.
Or, how bout during Bush 43 years, and how fair and balanced they treated him?
And currently during the Obama (3yrs) years, nothing negative about der slick meister

And folks, brace yourself, the bias media has now found a new lover boy, Islamic
terriorism! Its our new whipping boy. Will America fight back or roll over?
Well, how bout it Newt, are you ready to be crucified by the media, really?

And don't forget the left's sacrificial lambs, Bernie Goldberg, Juan Williams,
to mention a few, they eat their own!
Oh, the gods of beastly "tolerance" cry, feed me!
    Good luck Newt.
