Hating Palin

Pages: 1 2

Americans are accustomed now to blatant bias from the left-leaning news media, whose thin remaining façade of objectivity collapsed altogether during Obama’s campaign and tenure in office. But even by the current dumbed-down standards, CNN took a shameful shot at Palin last weekend. On CNN Sunday Morning, a segment on Palin was introduced with a snippet from a song called “Stupid Girls” by former pop star Pink. “Stupid girl, stupid girl,” Pink intones, followed by host Randy Kaye announcing, “Sarah Palin is apparently hungry for chicken and controversy,” referring to the embattled Chick Fil-A restaurant chain which Palin was supporting. Subtle.

You may recall that eight months ago, the house band for NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon talk show introduced guest Rep. Michele Bachmann with a song called “Lyin’ Ass Bitch.” NBC ultimately issued a perfunctory apology for the outrageous Bachmann insult, and CNN quickly followed its gaffe this weekend with an apology of sorts as well: “The music selection was a poor choice and was not intended to be linked to any news story. We regret any perception that they were planned together.” A poor choice indeed, and most certainly intentional.

That incident came on the heels of a comedy performance on the Bravo network late last week in which ragingly hateful TV personality Kathy Griffin “joked” that Palin’s daughter Bristol is “a dirty whore” whose 17-year-old sister Willow is a future porn star. Hilarious. This was during a lengthy anti-Palin stretch of Griffin’s standup routine in which she ridiculed Wasilla (because leftists have contempt for small-town Americans) and Sarah Palin’s accent (because leftists have contempt for Americans with rural accents). The tolerant progressives among her Long Beach audience roared their approval of her mean-spirited ridicule. Imagine their outrage, though, if a conservative comedian like Dennis Miller made such vile, unfunny comments about the Obamas’ children.

The Palin-hating among so-called entertainers didn’t stop there. Also last weekend, British celebrity Russell Brand, who seems to be under the illusion that he’s a comedian, ended a panel at the Television Critics Association by offering this gutter explanation for Sarah Palin’s appeal: “People want to f*** her. That’s why they tolerate the other stuff.” Why he was asked his opinion about Sarah Palin is unclear from news reports, but it’s not unreasonable to assume that the questioner was hoping to elicit just such a vicious crack at Palin from notorious Republican-basher Brand.

Brand wasn’t expressing a deeply considered opinion about Palin; he was looking for the easy laugh and so he went straight for the crude and flippant joke. I have no doubt, though, that it reflects his true opinion. He has absolutely no clue about the real reason for Palin’s appeal to many conservatives, and not just because he’s British and doesn’t understand Americans and our politics. It’s because he, like Kathy Griffin and Jimmy Fallon’s bandleader and the producer at CNN who chose “Stupid Girls” and the left-leaning media and entertainment biz in general, is an elitist snob who can’t comprehend that someone like Palin – or indeed, any conservative – could be anything but a moronic backwoods bigot, undeserving of any serious consideration. Like many leftist celebrities, Brand is a sneering narcissist who can’t grasp that anyone of Palin’s ilk might embody deeply meaningful values that resonate with untold numbers of Americans.

This is a very well written article and to the point. Yet Sarah Palin just gets stronger and stronger. Let these leftists stay in their deluded mind set. They have NOTHING of any value to offer any society. They are destructive losers. Anyone with eyes can see that.

    • BS77

Yes Lisa, Michael Savage said it well: "Liberalism is a mental disorder."

      "Stronger and stronger?"

Has she finished a single thing in life she set out to do?

Palin Derangement Syndrom I believe I have heard this called. I still don't understand these leftest Democrats and their scribes in the media, they always seem more fixated with fighting the last election then the current one. It's only been in the past two years that I finally stopped hearing anyone talk about Bush supposedly stealing the 2000 election, might as well bring up the elections of 1920 and 1952 while they are at it.
With regard to Russell Brand I believe his latest claim to fame was staring in a remake of "Arthur", which all but flopped at the box office. Unlike Bill Mahar Russell Brand can at least be funny from time to time, not consistantly but at least some of the time.

Sarah Palin is refreshing. She tells it like it is, which is what Obama and the Democrats don't want to hear.
It is most unfortunate that Obama and the liberal media can't see the forest from the trees. Come back down to earth before you ruin the world and the USA.
And one more thing, the coming election is without a doubt the most important election ever, and the American people have to be deaf, dumb, and blind if they can't see what is going to be shoved down their throats.

Listen to Sarah Palin, get rid of Obama.

Actual litmus strips tell acicity versus basicity. Mrs. Palin is unfortunately cast as equivalent of litmus paper for telling the true state of the Left's class-bigotry. (BTW, so do so many of the Left's legislative proposals to restrict and/or otherwise burden lawful lirearm ownership, also reflect class-bigotry. Further, let us not forget the contribution of "Progressives" to enactment of Prohibition.)

    • mlcblog

      Cute. Litmus test!

It is mind-numbingly unbelievable and sickening to read the gargage that comes out of these people's mouths. Let us be aware however, celebrity conservatives aside, there is some real garbage coming from our side as well. I understand the impulse to insult and degrade the opposition but I have read many extremely nasty, if not outright frightening, comments on conservative websites about our honorable friends on the left.

I am reminded of an episode involving a group of 12-13 year old girls in a school playground. The bully girl among them decided to physically attack one of the girls. Once the attack started the others eagerly joined in with kicking and punching. This was not just innocent fun but serious hatred designed to injure. Why this victim? Because she was the prettiest and sweetest of them all and who tried to be friends with everyone. It was her outstanding qualities that provoked these mean-spirited kids to attack. Sarah Palin has an outstanding personal background of achievement and human quality. For the political degenerates among us that is a provocation to attack.

    • mlcblog

Well said and observed. She is provocative by her very existence and the fact that she will not back down and join the degenerates.

      • Maxie

She drives the left crazy because she is a happy person living a fulfilling life and is comfortable with herself. Leftists' can't stand that because they are, at heart, miserable, fearful and frustrated people.

        • mlcblog

Exactly. Well said. I think it's funny to watch.

  • geno

When someone like Sarah Palin arrives on the scene it forces these looney liberals to look at themselves and when they don't match up, they tear down the standard bearer.

    • mlcblog

Oh, hell no!! they are NOT going to look at themselves (liberalism is a mental disorder) or they would have to go even crazier. They have to attack her….quick before they start to think. I know. I used to be a big fat liberal do-gooder.

  • tagalog

The crudity of the lefty attacks of righties like Palin and Bachmann are OK with me. They will eventually reveal the true nature of the American Left, and then the right wing will begin to win elections by LARGE margins, instead of these exhausting near 50-50 splits. So keep up the "Stupid Girl" and "Lyin' Ass Bitch" stuff, lefties; in the end it will be refreshingly clarifying.

  • BS77

Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann have both been attacked by the lib left media and talking heads….these are great women. While suburban Democrat housewives are out getting their nails done, Sarah Palin is hunting moose, fishing , crabbing, gardening and driving her 4×4 through the Alaskan tundra. Go Sarah!!!!

"YOU AIN'T SEEN NOTHING YET!" Now the outright lies will start but after days of repeating the lies on the MSM, late shows, and The View, the liar puts out a retraction THAT ISN'T REPORTED UNTIL 2:00 AM on the bottom ticker on CNN and never on MSNBC. Even if it gets more attention, the retraction ISN'T HEARD by the repeaters so they keep repeating the lie. WHAT'S WORSE IS THEY HEAR THE RETRACTION BUT THEY KEEP REPEATING THE LIE! When a ZOMBIE is confronted with the retraction, they say "Did you hear that on Fox? Gots to be a lie!" (A math teacher would give us extra work if she heard us say "gots." I hope she isn't reading this.)

WHERE IS N.O.W. and all the other defenders of women and their children?

The hiding behind "But I'm a comedian" is getting old and even reasonable people are seeing how vile they are!

When Hollywood and comedian has-beens need attention again to feed their ego, they say vile things to get back in the headlines and then the MSM puts them on TV which then leads them to say more vile remarks so they can be in the limelight again.

Has nothing to do party alliances. Palin is not a presidential candidate, poorly informed in domestic as well as international matters. We need well educated politicians, nonpartisan, for America.

      • Maxie

There's no one more poorly informed and devoid of experience and wisdom than Barack Obama. Try again doc.

How does Bill Maher get away with blantant SLANDER and character assassination? These certainly have to be worse than the well-deserved knuckle-sandwich I'd LOVE to see Todd Palin give that coward — Right on HBO LIVE!

      Todd: "That's for my wife!'

Isn't that how these things used to be settled? How about Maher and Todd Palin in a back alley?

      • fiddler

I may have gotten his name wrong. It's been awhile since I read "Going Rouge".

  • Western Spirit

Sarah Palin has a glow that many Christians have from the thoughts they entertain. All Christians are instructed to think on what is positive and good in life.

Having her children demeaned must be hard on her, though, but the savage remarks should backfire on the offenders because whatever we send out comes back on us. Jesus taught the efficacy of Karma.

The problem the Left has with her is first she's a devout Christian, a conservative, and a woman who fires guns. She covers all their bases they have for reasons to hate. Black people have the same problem with them when they are conservative and principled.

Now is this the same Sarah Palin who didn't understand that "Africa" was actually a "continent.?" She thought Africa was simply just another "country." She was confused by the concepts of "continent" versus "country." Palin also didn't realize that North Korea and South Korea were two separate countries. She believed there is only "one Korea" and that "north and south" merely indicates their position.. And she also believed that England is literally ruled by "the Queen mother" (Palin had no understanding as to who or what the "Prime Minister" is).

We also rememberPalin's appearance on O'Reilly (May 2010) when she proclaimed: : "the U.S. should base it's Laws on The Bible, just as the Founding Fathers had intended. Palin's full quote is: " the founding tathers said they would create Law based on the God of the Bible and the Ten Commandments, it's pretty simple." end quote.

Yes, Sarah, it IS pretty simple. I couldn't have said it better myself.

Ask against "all 57 States"? You can't even get that if you count overseas territories.

      You, sir, are a dumbbell.

    • Lisa_H

Yeah, I've "heard" all these supposed statements that SP made–but, do tell, where are the sources and the links so we can judge the accuracy for ourselves? Otherwise you are wasting our time.

    • Supreme_Galooty

You are obviously misinformed. Best to open your mouth and erase all doubts about your ignorance than leave us thinking you are otherwise.

    • Susan B.

I would reply with all the stupid comments made by the POTUSA but it would take many pages. You used only a couple for Sarah Palin. Of course now you will start on Mr. Romney because those of you in the liberal/progressive camp cannot begin to see all the warts your President and VP have. The conservative will debate, discuss, and argue. The liberal calls names, picks up their toys and goes home as they know they cannot win an argument except with lies or name calling.

I was thrown into one of the first "Woman's Studies" classes back in 1970. A big issue was "achieved" status vs. "ascribed". An example of intolerable bias was seeing a woman driving a Mercedes and automatically thinking a rich husband provided the nice car – that's ascribed status, and condescending because few would believe she earned the income to buy the car.

Sarah Palin achieved her status, coming from nowhere. Hillary has ascribed status and would be unimportant without Bill. So why do feminists worship Hillary and despise Palin?

One leading feminist did admire Palin: Camille Paglia. She was attacked mercilessly by her followers!

  • Schlomotion

If Sarah Palin is a feminist, then Jeffrey Dahmer is a master chef.

Also, note to Mr. Tapson: it is proper form to list the person's full name in the article before referring to them subsequently by surname only.

  • Western Sspirit

The founding fathers did base our laws on Christianity. If you are going to be critical Garland O. then get your facts straight.

  • Supreme_Galooty

Most who denigrate Sarah Palin do so through either blind jealousy, or through being haplessly MAL-informed. Then there are the partisan automatons who denigrate her without regard to the facts. I like her because she causes more hate and discontent among the scalawags of the Left than even Ann Coulter. You GO, Sarah! (And Ann!)

  • jonmc

"Cheney’s daughter Liz disagreed … saying she was “more qualified than Obama and Biden combined.”

Was that supposed to be a COMPLIMENT?

  • Ken Stone

Both Dick Cheney's and Lynn Cheney's statements are right. Sarah Palin's 2 years as governor of Alaska and other experience did not sufficiently prepare her to be president. But they made her better-prepared her to be president than either Barack Obama or Joe Biden. And, arguably, better prepared than John McCain, too, bless his heart.
