The Rice Diversion

Matthew Vadum is an award-winning investigative reporter and the author of the book, "Subversion Inc.: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts Are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers."

After U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice lied her way through a tense meeting with Republican lawmakers yesterday about her role in the Benghazi scandal, the mainstream media escalated its attacks on those Republicans who continue daring to question the official account of that bloody day in September.

A short time after meeting with Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), Rice released a statement indicating that she had incorrectly described the attack at the U.S. consulate in Libya when she appeared on five Sunday TV talk shows days after. At the height of the election season in mid-September she peddled the Obama administration’s fairy tale in which a spontaneous demonstration over an anti-Islam video somehow led to the killing of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Rice said her comments were based on intelligence available at the time. “Neither I nor anyone else in the administration intended to mislead the American people at any stage in the process,” said Rice, who attended the meeting with acting CIA director Michael J. Morell.

Rice contradicted the testimony of former CIA Director David Petraeus who told lawmakers Nov. 16 he never believed the Obama administration’s claim that the attack was a mob action prompted by a video. Petraeus said that he believed all along that Islamic terrorists attacked the diplomatic mission on the 11th anniversary of 9/11.

The senators were not moved by Rice.

“It is clear that the information that she gave the American people was incorrect when she said that it was a spontaneous demonstration triggered by a hateful video,” said McCain. Echoed Graham, “Bottom line: I’m more disturbed now than I was before.”

Graham and Ayotte indicated they plan to block Rice’s nomination as secretary of state if President Obama names her to replace Hillary Clinton.

But because the senators won’t cave in to pressure, media figures are smearing them at every opportunity.

McCain, Graham, and Ayotte are engaged in a “Benghazi witch hunt,” according to Martin Bashir, one of MSNBC’s most ardent Obama worshipers.

The senators are grasping at straws, refusing to let go of their “ginned up controversy” even after meeting with Rice and other administration figures, said the tabloid journalist known for his interviews with Diana, Princess of Wales and singer Michael Jackson.

After White House press secretary Jay Carney said the senators were suffering from an “obsession” about Rice’s comments on the Sunday shows, the Huffington Post website helpfully put together a video painting McCain and Graham as obsessed.

Other journalists have leapt to the defense of Rice.

Working with the White House and congressional Democrats, journalists invented the false side story that McCain and a group of Republican lawmakers were targeting Rice not because she lied to the American people but because she is black.

A Washington Post editorial supports the left-wing Congressional Black Caucus’s wild contention that Republicans are out to get Rice “because she is an African American woman.” Perhaps the editorial writers forgot that President George W. Bush’s secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, an immensely popular figure in the GOP, was also a black woman.

The newspaper then implies that Republicans are secret members of the Ku Klux Klan, citing a recent letter signed by 97 House Republicans questioning Rice’s fitness for the post of top U.S. diplomat. The paper casually opines that “[M]ore than 80 of the signatories are white males, and nearly half are from states of the former Confederacy.”

Like defense lawyers for an obviously guilty client, these left-wing journalists are working overtime to confuse the public about what happened in Benghazi, Libya, the Obama administration’s role, and what it all means. Democrats and the mainstream media are trying to obstruct progress in the investigation by misdirection, grabbing at any shiny object within reach.

But despite the leftist spin, the ugly truth remains:  Four Americans were sacrificed to prevent President Obama’s pro-Islamist foreign policy from becoming a major issue in the closing weeks of the recently concluded election. President Obama let Americans die in order to secure reelection. On Sept. 11 President Obama rolled the dice, jetting off to Las Vegas for a fundraising event. He knew the media would cover for him.

The Obama administration concocted an anti-Islam video cover story that was plausible enough not to alarm voters. The U.S. Embassy in Cairo released a bizarre statement on Sept. 11 condemning “the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” Expressing the views of many Americans, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney said it was “disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

Stateside, the Obama-worshipping media pilloried Romney for days for speaking truth to power and standing up for the First Amendment.

In the end, the media vanquished Romney but not the story of what happened in that northeastern Libyan city.

Now that they realize that the Benghazi scandal isn’t going away anytime soon, these left-wingers are scrambling to regain control over the narrative.

As journalist Josh Marshall, a reliably partisan Democrat, huffed in a recent tweet while watching television, “Weird. Everyone on this Fox panel agrees Benghazi scandal is becoming really big deal.”

No kidding.

Other left-wing journalists are spending a lot of time lying in order to protect the Obama administration. The media establishment has been busy characterizing anyone who doesn’t follow the official line as kooks and sore losers shell-shocked at Romney’s surprising defeat.

Salon.com’s senior fabulist Alex Pareene refers to Benghazi as “an entirely made-up scandal” and accepts as Holy Writ whatever account the Obama administration offers at any given moment.

Because Sens. McCain and Graham had the impertinence to question the White House’s obvious lies about the Benghazi saga, Pareene calls them “buffoons.” McCain is a “petulant loser” and Graham is his “reviled sidekick,” writes the young man whose career high water mark was working as a gossip columnist at Wonkette.com.

Leftist academic Dominic Tierney claims the Benghazi scandal is proof that Obama’s foreign policy “is fairly successful.” Benghazi “is what a ‘scandal’ looks like when there aren’t any real scandals to talk about.”

“Republicans are desperate to assail Obama for something, and they chose Benghazi as their best shot,” Tierney writes.

Smug leftist Paul Waldman at the American Prospect, belittles “harumphing” Republicans for seeking the truth about what happened.

Republicans have “scandal envy,” Waldman quips. “Republicans are indescribably frustrated by the fact that Barack Obama, whom they regard as both illegitimate and corrupt, went through an entire term without a major scandal.”

In fact Obama has had several potentially major scandals in his first term but so-called journalists like Waldman have refused to take them seriously. Benghazi is the Obama scandal with the largest American body count.

They include the NEA taxpayer-funded propaganda scandal, the wrongful termination of AmeriCorps Inspector General Gerald Walpin, the appointment of self-described “communist” Van Jones as White House green jobs czar, Pigford, Obama’s ties to the criminal group ACORN, the handling of the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation case, Obama’s unilaterally granted immigration amnesty, Obama’s intimidation of Supreme Court members during a State of the Union address, the Justice Department’s refusal to enforce electoral integrity laws and attempt to intimidate the Gallup polling company, Solyndra, the Reichstag fire-like Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal, the administration’s failure to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act (DoMA), and Obama’s ongoing appeasement of Islamofascists around the world. (This is not an exhaustive list.)

And although Republicans happen to have the facts on their side this time, they should never underestimate the power of the Left to transform a potential GOP triumph into a crushing political defeat.

The media have convinced a good-sized chunk of the population that Obama critics, and particularly, Tea Party supporters, are racist, mouth-breathing imbeciles and lunatics.

During the Bill Clinton impeachment process, impeachment advocates in Congress such as the late Congressman Henry Hyde (R-Ill.) cited the Magna Carta and high-minded constitutional principles while Democrats regurgitated lies over and over and over again. The Left engaged in character assassination, taking the case of a president lying under oath, obstructing justice, and abusing his power to escape the civil consequences of sexual harassment, and transforming it into a case of sex-obsessed Republicans desperate to hunt down a Democratic president with an inspiring life story.

This was accomplished not by the force of their arguments but largely by repetition. They wore people down and got them to believe the lies. It wasn’t that hard to do given that the public liked Clinton.

In a 2004 case already largely forgotten outside Capitol Hill, Democrats were able not only to distract from their wrongdoing but also to claim the head of a top Republican congressional staffer in the process.

Manuel Miranda was counsel to then-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) until Republicans forced him out. During a battle over judicial confirmations, Miranda produced memos proving Democrats were taking orders from left-wing groups determined to defeat President Bush’s nominees. The groups included People for the American Way, NARAL Pro-Choice America, and NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

As Kathryn Jean Lopez wrote at the time, “[o]ne memo referred to Bush White House judicial candidates as ‘Nazis.’”

The memos were found on an open computer network but somehow Democrats were able to turn the media’s guns around and aim them at Republican staffers, accusing them of unethically accessing computer files to obtain internal documents.

Miranda said that “no unauthorized hacking was involved” in accessing the Democrats’ memos. He added, “I considered and studied the propriety of reading these documents. I knew that in legal ethics there is no absolute prohibition on reading opposition documents inadvertently disclosed.”

President Obama’s legal team, schooled in the ways of Chicago, consists of ruthless lawyers like Robert Bauer.

Like the administration’s many supplicants in the media, Obama’s team won’t make uncovering the truth about Benghazi easy.

The fact that we're all obsessing over Susan Rice and what she did and did not say one Sunday morning has served a very useful purpose. It has distracted us from the ugly reality of Sept 11, 2012, that for seven hours, an eternity under the circumstances, two very brave ex-navy Seals desperately fought off dozens of attackers, saving lives and waiting in vain for the air-calvary that never came.

The REAL scandal of Sept 11 was not Susan Rice, not the post-event lies of this Administration, but the hours upon hours when our government could have sent air support from Sicily to save those two brave men, but chose not to….for reasons we can only guess, but that most likely have to do with 1) fear of upsetting the Libyans and 2) a President whose sole pre-occupation was on campaigning and getting himself re-elected.

    • NAHALKIDES

You're half right. The failure to send support and relief to the besieged personnel in Benghazi is the most serious part of the scandal, but the cover-up, in which Rice played either a witting or unwitting role, is almost as important because it was a deliberate attempt by Obama's henchmen to deceive the American public.

      • Chezwick

No question, but this aspect of the scandal the you and everyone else has attached such importance to has served a mighty purpose for Obama: NOBODY is talking about the events on the ground that night and the negligence that resulted in two – if not four – deaths…(I'm assuming that the deaths of the Ambassador and his aid occurred relatively early in the attack, before a reasonable expectation for help, but I could be wrong).

Leon Panetta's excuse – that "[we never send soldiers into harm's way until we know exactly what we're dealing with...]" was as patently false as a narrative could be. Under such thinking, the US military would simply never respond to any emergency of any kind whatsoever, given the uncertainties inherent in such scenarios. This was negligence and cowardice displayed at the highest level. And were it not for two very brave men, the casualty count would have been much, much higher.

        • Maxie

The bottom line is that we have a bungling, incompetent,if far-left, administration and an unethical, corrupt Mass Media which is committed to shielding it from blowback from its' self-serving blunders. Can America survive four more years of this?

But the liberals just dismiss everything by saying Nixon had evil intention and Libya was just another of a string of accidents that happen no matter who is in office. They deliberately dismiss the salient distinctions mentioned here.

That is what we need to focus on:

Rice lied because she was directed to by Obama to do so. Turn the page. Obama lied because he acted with absolute narcissism and worse, treason by almost any definition. Specifically, he failed to perform his primary duty as president and instead went on campaigning for another 4 years of incompetence and treason. He actually actively campaigned with a focus on these lies with intent to deceive, having the objective of winning an election based on lies.

Mary Sue, the title of this article is spot on…diversion indeed.

Having covered this dastardly saga from its inception, it is more than clear that diversion is their game plan- http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/11/27/benghazigates

But this blogger has a good instinct, meaning, that this time they overplayed their hand. This story/investigation isn't going away…like so many of their other crimes. This is why it is being hammered at full force.

Many in Israel are paying full attention to it, as they understand the nexus between Benghazigate and its spill over into our borders.

Adina, I always like to read your comments. I also find your blog very interesting. We should all call or write to these very brave senators to continue on the right course, which is the course of truth. Rice, Obama, Clinton the whole lot lied to the country. I feel sorry for the families of those brave seals who died trying to help others while the scoundrels in the government were watching the drama evolve and sat there and did nothing. Shame, shame on them.

Good for you! an example of what can be done. I hear too many people giving up. • Gene W 1938

The assination of Ambassador Chris Stevens and its cover-up is a horrific crime. The Ambassador knew too much [that he could have spilled during an investigation] about why we took-out Libya, who ordered the intercepted arms shipment from Libya through Turkey and terrorist funded crimes that have and are working to overthrough other countries.
Muslim Brotherhood terrorists were hired to protect our consults !!! Our seals had to disobey the order to stand down [not to protect] and they went in [taking arms from passive gaurds] to provide protection and then their pleas for help ignored.
Now the NeoCon, one world governance, RINOs in support of our administration should find answers to these and the Rice, Clinton … cover-up would be understood.

Vadum wrote: "Rice contradicted the testimony of former CIA Director David Petraeus who told lawmakers Nov. 16 he never believed the Obama administration’s claim that the attack was a mob action prompted by a video…."

Mr Vadum, on September 14, 2012, Gen. Petraeus allegedly told Congressional leaders, the Benghazi attacks began as a "spontaneous" protest against the film ‘The Innocence of Muslims.’ On November 16 Gen, Petraeus changed his story to the effect he never believed the killings were a result of a spontaneous protest. If this is true, the CIA, like the Defense Department (Sec. of Defense Leon Panetta) was also part of the cover-up in behalf of the Obama administration and / or campaign for re-election. I think this effort on the part of conservatives (Republicans) to expunge Petreaus' apparent wrong-doing or cover-up in behalf of Barack Obama does our cause a disservice.

    • Jim_C

Perhaps the Republicans should find out what other things Rice lied about throughout her long career connected to Obama. We need to demand a criminal investigation be done on the press. Conservative news knew by day 2 that this was a terrorist attack. If the press gets away with this then what is the point of voting? Dems will pick who ever they want and the press will comply with what ever exposure is necessary to promote and protect their candidate.

To this day there is a huge portion of the population of this country that has no idea what is going on here.

    • Spider

I agree totally, a criminal investigation is in order. Just because they have special Constitutional privialge granted them doesn't mean they don't have responsibility for their lies and distortions. They should also be sued for malpractice just like a quack doctor or an incompetent lawyer.

    • fiddler

Yes! There HAS to be some accountability from the press. I'm sure that the Framers never had an idea that there would be the kind political collusion that occurs today. There ought to be some kind of litigaion remedy where if the press could be shown to be knowingly mislead the public that there could be consequences. If doctors can be sued for malpractice; why not the media? Somehow, there has to be a law that upholds objectivity in the press minus the editorializing. Just present the fact and let the people decide. Stop with the leading "adjectives" which tend to put a slant on the news.

      • Jim_C

I'm all for it, but would you really want to see Fox News destroyed outright for their daily malpractice of journalism?

        • Mary Sue

there's always Sun News Network. If Fox is destroyed, something else will spring up in its place.

Seriously though, Fox isn't any more "dishonest" in its journalism than MSNBC, PBS, SeeBS, ABC, and in fact the regular networks are probably worse.

          • Jim_C

Fox actually isn't bad during the day*; it's at night, when they are at peak viewership, that they cease to really be a news agency and become something else altogether.** There are virtual industries built on the factual inaccuracies Fox puts out there.

*I qualify that by saying I truly, truly can't stand any cable news network & still get my news from paper and internet sources.

**I like certain Fox personalities. O'Reilly is OK and Judge Napolitano is wonderful

          • Mary Sue

that's because hardly anybody bothers to point out all the inaccuracies the rest of the media puts out there. Except for on the internets.

          • objectivefactsmatter

OK, soon you'll admit that while far from being perfect, Fox is actually the closest thing to balanced in the MSM (as far as I know, but I've never regularly watched any of that crap and judge on samples of videos from the various failures).

Or perhaps you want all of them destroyed except for Fox? I see, a fan. You can destroy them all if you ask me, but if you do keep one, Fox is probably it, I guess.

Maybe you're growing up, or waking up. Stick around and you'll learn plenty more.

        • objectivefactsmatter

"I'm all for it, but would you really want to see Fox News destroyed outright for their daily malpractice of journalism?"

Malpractice of liberalism? No problem. Only a liberal expects all media to be universally devoted to a single party to the point of corruption, treason and betrayal of professional obligations.

What interesting times we live in.

McCain and Graham: though you are absolutely correct, Rice should get one minute for every ten minutes the President gets for his zero level of concern and competency about the ambassador, staff and responders. Please also understand that Benghazi was not a seven-hour affair – but a months' long one that was prelude to a disaster on the ground. You'd think Benghazi had the warning period of an earthquake. Hardly. The USS Cole is more forgivable than this – at the highest levels of government. And please – allow the embassy and consular Marines to have loaded weapons.

That's not literally true. Although I would argue it's ridiculous policy. It's not criminal though. It's criminal to deploy them in a field of battle without proper weapons, but an embassy doesn't qualify for that distinction. However, we could pass a law making it so. Remember that some nations don't even arm their police. What else can I say? It's a mad world out there.

SUSAN RICE: The grooming of the next President of the United States.

Obama handing off the keys to the White House to Susan Rice is the only LOGICAL PATH for him to ensure another eight years of Democrat Party rule. This pick will guarantee another 92%, or more, of the Black vote, who spit on the ideals of Martin Luther King by voting only due to the color of a person’s skin and will gladly do it again. There will be gender racism too from women whose Dream is the FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT.

THE SAVING OF SUSAN RICE: Now it’s racism to question her just like Obama. The Congressional Black Caucus was quick to label that any criticism of Rice was rooted in racism. The media is now blaming the Republicans as "picking on Rice" and people are believing them since they are masters at repeating their message over and over till the people are brainwashed on that point. So what if she lied!

The Republicans will again be criticized as the White and RACIST PARTY and, of course, their “War on Women.” She will also get the minority vote. More importantly, a Black woman fits perfectly with advancing Obama’s BLACK LIBERATION THEOLOGY.

JOE BIDEN: With every gaffe, he is proving that he’s getting absent minded. His debate with Paul Ryan proved that the man needs a psychoanalyst. The rigors of the job will also be too much for his age. Obama could throw him under the bus too and replace him with Rice, her stepping stone to the Throne. (Notice that I haven't mentioned Hillary.)

“R & R.” Romney and Ryan were a great team but Romney needed another “R”: RUBIO, who would have taken a greater percentage of the all important Hispanic vote. Even better, an Hispanic woman.

How do we defeat SUSAN RICE? It surely won’t be done with a Chris, Paul, Rand, Rick, Jeb, Sarah, or anyone that is being talked about now.

Of course, VOTER FRAUD must be addressed, voter ID required, and all suspicions of cheating must be eliminated.

Maybe RICE VS. RICE? Start grooming ours now people!

    • DaveS

Rubio cannot constitutionally be President, so he could not have been the Vice President. Other than that, your comments are spot-on.

      • mlcblog

Thank you. I have noticed that, too, but Look at O. He is not constitutionally qualified, either, as had been recognized previous to his campaigns.

        • objectivefactsmatter

Let's not lower ourselves further than necessary to defeat this evil.

    • Cassandr

Steve, your response is brilliant. I did not think about Rice as the next president but you are right: she is a female and black. She should be investigated though like Obama should have been. Being president should have nothing to do with race or gender but with great intelligence, great vision and total loyalty to country and Constitution.

    • bluffcreek1967

You made some good points Steve, and I too would not be surprised to see a 'woman of color' as the next Democrat candidate for President. The Republicans, of course, will fall over themselves to prove they're not the party of 'old White men,' so they'll produce their own 'woman of color.' When that occurs, the debate will center not on which candidate is more qualified and experienced to do the job, but which candidate has been most 'oppressed' by the White man; which candidate truly identifies with their racial group and will help them the most out of their 'disenfranchised' condition; and which candidate will stand strong for 'women's rights' and bringing 'equality to the workplace.'

The Republicans will, once again, allow the Democrats to dictate the issues and terms of our national debate. They will allow the Democrats to divert them from their main message, and the Republicans will, once again, compromise their core principles in order to remain 'relevant.' As a result, the GOP will lose even more White conservatives from its ranks and will fail in gaining all those beloved 'minorities' they had hoped to get. The more the GOP drifts leftward and seeks to be ideologically 'relevant,' the more it will see its base (namely, Whites) leave the party and find a home somewhere else.

What the Republicans don't seem to realize is that Whites, by and large, feel most comfortable in a political party that's largely comprised of other Whites. It's human to want to be with your own kind, and every other racial and ethnic group recognizes this – except guilt-ridden Whites who think it 'racist' to think or do anything in their own racial interests!

The Republicans learn all their lessons much too late, and they are too timid to boldly assert what's obvious to many of us. The GOP is going the way of the Whigs . . . . they just don't realize it yet.

Steve, considering how much she is on television, recently, I would say that Kelly Ayotte, of New Hampshire, is being groomed for the job.

Don't you wonder tho that Biden is acting goofy, he was so fast and quick in the debat even if wrong. He's been in the CFR too long to be a total bafoon, I think it is an act so we think he's a goofball.

Susan Rice is not a charismatic person, I do not see her as heir apparent.

McCain and Graham confuse me, one minute I think they are the biggest neocons and the next Constitutional conservatives. What a big mess.

While Benghazi may well be the tip of the iceberg of an as yet unknown proportions, long-term the real scandal is the MSM and their treason of Democracy. It's one thing not bothering to investigate it yourself, but a completely different thing trying to actively stifle any attempt by others to even ask the questions. Stinks.

    • Spider

The job of the media is to shine light on the government and keep it honest. Now just like Provda they just parrot Zeros talking points, coverups and lies. They are utterly corrupt and should be taken to task on this. We now have the fox guarding the henhouse.

    • objectivefactsmatter

"While Benghazi may well be the tip of the iceberg of an as yet unknown proportions, long-term the real scandal is the MSM and their treason of Democracy."

I agree totally, but we've got to win against Obama to make our next case against them. Don't use the proverbial shotgun just yet. We need laser focus until our narrative wins consensus.

    • Lee

Did you ever read "Foundations" by Rene Worsmer? It is very illuminating on how and why the MSM is they way they are institutionally.

  • pierce

Susan Rice does not deserve to be appointed Secretary of State. She helped cover up the entire Libya episode, being complicit to her boss Barack Obama, aiding and abetting him in his quest for a 2nd term.
Had she been completely truthful, would Obama have been reelected, we will never know, but one thing is for sure, she was not TRUTHFUL, and that should not be acceptable to going forward to one of the most esteemed positions in government. She may be smart, but she outsmarted herself. Partisanship and truth will get her what she deserves, withdrawal of her pending nomination, but Obama will probably ignore the correctness of the situation, and nominate her irregardless, in keeping with his overall attitudes. He has shown a definite tendency for doing the wrong thing, because he thinks he is always right.

  • clarespark

The most surprising thing about this scandal is public obliviousness to the role of the liberal white foundations in enabling multiculturalism and political correctness. I went back to widely available sources here and quoted them: http://clarespark.com/2010/07/18/white-elite-enab…. "White Elite Enabling of Black Power." The issue in the Rice scandal that few are mentioning is political correctness and the invention of "Islamophobia" that even DSMV will not take to be a mental illness.

    • Lee

Clare your blog is very brainy, but very very good!

The solution to all of this will create itself. Since the democrats have made it obvious they will employ race-based politics, they have sealed their fate. Eventually the democrats will force all of the white democrats out as well. Hillary's career just went up in smoke (though it really died during the first primaries against Obama).

Of course, none of this would be happening if white Americans were really the racists they are so readily accused of being. All of this is the result of a rift in white America with the power vacuum being filled by anyone who can. If the republicans hope to survive the next decade, they will have to turn into a clone of the democrats with a bigger Santa sack. Or they will have to embrace white voters loud and proud. White American unity would solve all of this.

But then, white unity is considered to be "racist", so the republicas will be second tier until the nation runs out of money. After all, the social experiments only survive on other people's money. They can't support themselves.

Susan Rice is a liar and an idiot to boot. She isn't qualified to work at McDonalds.

Barry Soetero should be tried for the deaths of those four Americans. He is a human piece of feces.
I hate his guts. He is not my President.

    • Spider

But BLJ you can't criticise them they are black – that makes you a racist (sarc) We are only allowed to say something about blacks if it is a REAL BIG Compliment.

      • BLJ

Color me a racist then. Names have never bothered me.

I would like to know who is responsible for having drones in this very dangerous Jihad area are unarmed?

A question for the commander in chief.

In my opinion Obama would rather risk American lives then chance a hit with collateral damage. Does he not know this is warfare?

    • Maxie

"Does he know this is warfare?"
No, Lefties think of these things as "cops and robbers", Miranda rights and all.

John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H) Dont give up guys!!!!!! If you were not on the right track, they would not all be scrambling!!! Wear them down until they fall!!!!

I am so sick of this. They should approve a medal for the handling of the WATERGATE AFFAIR to Richard Nixon Post haste. The WATERGATE so-called situation did not see anybody get killed in it, especially no AMERICAN personal this is just so ridiculous, they need to charge the so-called COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF—With murder, and put him on trial. Immediately!!!!!!!

"Like defense lawyers for an obviously guilty client, these left-wing journalists are working overtime to confuse the public about what happened in Benghazi, Libya, the Obama administration’s role, and what it all means. Democrats and the mainstream media are trying to obstruct progress in the investigation by misdirection, grabbing at any shiny object within reach."

BINGO! I've said all along that we have too many "lawyers" in elected office. In the court room as well as in liberal/progressive politics the TRUTH is not the issue, but WHO WINS. DISCREDIT the witness is the order of the day. Win at all costs!

  • Maxie

"In fact Obama has had several potentially major scandals in his first term but so-called journalists like Waldman have refused to take them seriously. Benghazi is the Obama scandal with the largest American body count."
Looks like a typo above: I believe ''journalists" shold be "ur!rinali$ts"..

What's good for Watergate should be good for Benghazi.

Susan Rice might not be up to the mark, but I love rice pudding.

  • Donald DaCosta

This tactic of vitriolic attacks on anyone, most especially republicans, who dare to besmirch "The One", the man his media has placed on a pedestal and no one dare attempt to knock him off, or else.

I predict this tactic will work and prevent any serious attempt to force Obama to take responsibility for his incompetence, even to the extent that, in this case, it was likely responsible for or at the very least, contributed to, the death of four Americans. Add to this a lack of courage and resolve on the part of McCain, Graham and possibly Ayotte and the medias aversion to allowing any republican to share Obama's band wagon and Benghazigate, like the rest of Obama's inadequacies will fade into oblivion.

  • geoplaten

It's amazing how scandal free things appear when your head is planted firmly in the sand.

Four Americans were tortured, raped and murdered in Benghazi. Who's held accountable for this horrible tragedy? The Commander-in-Chief who didn't give the proper orders, ignored calls for help and went on his merry way to play golf..Let's get justice here and call out Obama for his inept, inexperienced, ignorant way of handling official business causing death to four American citizens..Rice is a patsy don't let Obama start pulling cover-ups, hiding behind others to protect his wrong doings…CALL OUT OBAMA ON BENGHAZI ATTACKS NOW!!!!!!

  • objectivefactsmatter

"McCain, Graham, and Ayotte are engaged in a “Benghazi witch hunt,” according to Martin Bashir, one of MSNBC’s most ardent Obama worshipers."

Fine, but in this case the witch does exist and is guilty. Hunt her down please.

With all of this obscene conduct, disgrace of our Nation and the upholding of one lie and liar
after another, Americans voted the liar in chief back into Office. History may record these
times as just less of the fall of Lucifer from the Heavenly Realms..(to D.C.)………William

  • Ken Palmer

Let's not forget how the 4 Americans at Benghazi must have died: They had become victims of Islamic
terrorists, meaning that they were tortured before they died. The kind of torture they received had to have
been unspeakably cruel, and our guys must have endured the worst that depraved minds could invent.
The proof or disproof of the torture could be resolved swiftly if the bodies could be examined. I am sure
that is now impossible, as our CIC undoubtedly ordered either cremations or immediate burials after their
    arrival in the U.S.

    Think about it! 43
