What to Expect in the Next Four Years

Americans have narrowly voted to reelect a president who will continue policies that will — not may — eventually lead to the downfall of the American republic.

The Tuesday election was a crushing defeat for the Tea Party-energized conservative movement but as a wise person once said, all defeats in politics are temporary. It is unfathomable to many Americans that a man they see as a wrongheaded, arrogant, corrupt Chief Executive could be reelected in a harsh economic climate, but as we saw with Franklin Roosevelt’s 1936 win during the Great Depression, it can happen.

For the time being I’ll leave it to others to hold forth on how best to take on the still-expanding Leviathan that President Obama is piloting but now that some of the initial pain and shock from Tuesday evening is beginning to wear off, let’s take a look at the grim future America faces if it fails to correct its course.

The economy is a shambles and thanks to the news-suppressing Obama-worshipping media, a huge chunk of the populace seems unaware of just how rotten things are. A quick recap: More than 23 million Americans are unemployed, underemployed, or have given up seeking work. The workforce participation rate is the lowest in 30 years. Annual household income is down $4,000. A record 47 million people are on food stamps. The national debt is now an astonishing $16.4 trillion and it’s probably going to shoot up even more.

This is just a smattering of the deeply depressing economic statistics that define the age of Obama.

In light of the election results, House Speaker John Boehner has demonstrated that he may be flexible on what has been the GOP’s signature issue: tax cuts. However, his public pronouncements on tax cuts since the election haven’t exactly been easy to interpret. During a Wednesday press event, he said he may be amenable to raising government revenues then during an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer the next day he said he didn’t want to raise taxes.

It is far from clear if such increases would prevent the day of fiscal reckoning. More likely tax hikes would simply delay it a bit by propping up America’s unsustainable welfare state, a redistributionist infrastructure that President Obama and Democrats are determined to further expand.

Boehner also struck the colors on the issue of Obamacare repeal. He told Diane Sawyer that he has no plans to fight President Obama’s unpopular health care legislation further. Asked if he intended to pursue a complete repeal of the law, Boehner said, “the election changes that,” and “Obamacare is the law of the land.”

Although these matters are worth worrying about, they are short-term concerns. Many Americans viewed this past election as America’s last, best chance to at least try to right the ship of state.

What may happen to the country over the long-term is terrifying.

Obama’s second term may give the Left undisputed control of the Supreme Court.

Although erstwhile conservative John Roberts is quite young (57) and likely to remain on the high court bench for decades to come, two of the court’s non-leftists are elderly. Antonin Scalia and Anthony Kennedy are both 76. (Clarence Thomas is 64 and Samuel Alito is 62.) President Obama is entitled to nominate replacements if any vacancies occur.

The First and Second Amendments would be likely targets for a radicalized Supreme Court. Leftists abhor the 2008 ruling in District of Columbia v. Heller which recognized the individual right to bear arms. They also froth at the mouth over Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, the 2010 opinion that struck down restrictions on independent political expenditures by corporations and unions on free speech grounds. The administration is likely to seek out test cases to use to reverse these existing precedents.

President Obama will also likely continue to attack free speech protections using executive orders and bureaucratic skulduggery. He has already issued 140 executive orders and is fond of making recess appointments for key federal posts — even when Congress is not technically in recess.

After a ridiculous Ed Wood-style video attacking the Muslim prophet Mohammed surfaced in the fall, the Obama administration saw to it that the filmmaker, Mark Basseley Youssef, was promptly arrested. The administration falsely blamed riots in the Muslim world and the Sept. 11, 2012 attacks on U.S. missions on the video even though hardly anyone in the world had seen the video at that time.

Youssef has been ordered imprisoned for a year by a court, ostensibly for breaching probation terms related to another conviction of his. But conservatives aren’t buying that excuse. Many on the Right are beginning to view Youssef as a real, live political prisoner of the Obama regime, locked up because he committed the politically incorrect crime of offending Muslims. So far the ACLU and Amnesty International have been silent about this injustice. More political prisoners may follow as the administration looks for scapegoats to distract the public from the weak economy.

Obama’s appeasement of Islamists will continue and their strength both abroad and within the United States will continue to grow. Islamofascist front groups such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will continue to operate unhindered. More Fort Hood massacres may occur and the FBI and military won’t be allowed to identify them as acts of Islamic terrorism because to do so would be an admission that Obama’s policy toward the Muslim world is a farce. We now know that al-Qaeda is, far from dead as Obama claimed, in fact resurgent and working with the Muslim Brotherhood to rebuild the old Islamic Caliphate that collapsed with the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

It wouldn’t be all that surprising if the administration embraced anti-blasphemy laws because this administration believes that not causing offense trumps free speech. Obama may release the Blind Sheikh, Omar Abdel-Rahman, convicted for his role in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. The government that Obama helped to create in Egypt by abandoning our old ally Hosni Mubarak has asked the U.S. to return Abdel-Rahman to his homeland and sources within our government have confirmed that negotiations are underway.

Over Obama’s second term, deep cuts to the military are expected. The president is on record as pledging to eliminate or reduce to a bare minimum the nation’s inventory of nuclear weapons. Troop strength will continue to fall because like all good American Marxists, Obama doesn’t like using American soldiers to fight wars and defend the country. He prefers using soldiers as social workers to deliver foreign aid to the needy nations of the world.

With the Obama campaign’s constant race-baiting and class warfare, a sour mood has descended on the land. Exit polls from the election suggest that voters have succumbed to the siren song of envy and really do want to make the so-called rich pay higher taxes.  Yet they still stubbornly cling to conservative beliefs, a dislike of big government, and a distrust of both major political parties. America today bears little resemblance to the America of the Reagan era in which taxes and government were cuss words. We may not be a center-right nation anymore.

As more and more companies collapse, taking jobs with them, more super-rich people will renounce their U.S. citizenship in order to be spared the nation’s increasingly oppressive tax rates. Others will move their money abroad. Cheating on taxes will become commonplace as it is in countries with large welfare states such as Britain, France, and Canada. People will become poorer and meaner. Some companies will go Galt, to borrow Ayn Rand’s phrase from her prophetic novel, “Atlas Shrugged.” In other words, they will shut down because their owners resent being targeted for their success.

Welfare burdens will continue to grow but poverty will not disappear. Throwing money at poverty doesn’t work. As Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation has noted, an astounding $16 trillion has been spent on the War on Poverty since it was launched in 1965, which, adjusted for inflation, is more than double the sum the U.S. has spent on every non-metaphorical war since Independence. Obama’s plan is to increase welfare spending by another $10 trillion and right now it is hard to imagine anyone trying to stop him.

Bob Dole may have been right when he poignantly observed in the 1990s, “We have lost shame as a motivating factor in our society.” It may be impossible to stop Obama from escalating spending on the nonproductive in part because the stigma associated with welfare is rapidly disappearing as government gets involved in nearly every aspect of our lives. Americans like handouts more than ever before. The work ethic is being rapidly overshadowed by the entitlement mentality as Americans grow accustomed to being poked and prodded by Big Brother.

If present trends continue, racial and ethnic balkanization will grow in Obama’s second term. The president himself has encouraged it. For example, during the long campaign he urged Latinos to “punish” their “enemies.” While the tragic Trayvon Martin saga unfolded, Obama played to his base, deliberately fanning racial tensions. He supports multiculturalism and has said he doesn’t believe there’s anything particularly exceptional about America. If the president won’t stand up for America, racial grievance mongers will tear it apart from the inside.

Eventually strife and unrest will take over America. Federal, state, and local governments will suffer credit rating downgrades, lose their ability to borrow money, and be unable to meet their continuing obligations.

When members of the public, by this point accustomed to feeding at the public teat, stop receiving the government checks they rely on, there will be an explosion that will rock society to its core. Americans will panic. The same thing has happened all over the world again and again.

Secession, revolution, foreign invasion, all these things that look mysterious and crazy and impossible right now could happen in America. We are not immune just because traditionally we’ve thought we’re special. Our ideas at that point won’t matter as we are overtaken by events and outside influences.

Not one of these things has to happen. The future is not carved in stone.

In order for the America we know and love to survive, a belief in freedom, individual rights, and self-reliance will have to resurface throughout the land.

Another four years of Obama may do just that. Americans will have to fight for their country.

Oh man I hope Scalia and Kennedy can hold out that long! If not that would be baaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Seriously bad.

You know it will be sad when CANADA is more sane about business and taxes and regulations than the good ol' US of A. How much do you want to bet that if it's that bad, US companies will be FLEEING IN DROVES to Canada? (pssst, come on over, we need teh jerbs).

    • MarcyFleming

Great piece overall. Atlas Shrugged does come to mind. actually, Mary Sue, many wealthy Americans are moving to once socialist Singapore ! Not exactly a beacon of individual rights but they do have more economic freedom than the West.

      • Mary Sue

I remember hearing Singapore getting pretty economically free in the 90s.

Do they still give out a good caning for spraypainting cars?

Once, there was a kid who, took a trip to Sing-a-pore and brought along some spray-paint,
And when, he finally came back, he had………..cane-marks all over his bottom!
He said it was from when the warden whacked it sooooo haaaaaaaaaaard.

        Mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm, mmm-mmm-mmm-mmm, mmmmm

        • MarcyFleming

I think so. They need to bring that idea here to the Bay Area, particularly for the Oakscum over in Oakland for baring their ugly behinds and for all the graffiti & litter they cause.
We have way too many unspanked behinds among all of our youth.

    • Arius

There will probably be more Obama appointments to the Supreme Court. It will be very bad for the future America. Conservatives will be tested like never before. Obama will use Federal power against conservatives. He will rile up the under classes against conservatives. He is fomenting a war of all against all. Prepare to protect yourself and your family.

  • Coptic John

I expect that 48 Million American will regret voting to Woebama when they suffer in every aspect of their life … and you should keep reminding them about this mistake all the time …

    • sue

I doubt they will understand what they did, it is always another's fault, Bush?

    • mattogilvie55

I doubt they will ever regret it. After all, they voted for Obama mainly because they hate America as much as Obama does.

    • akbass

Agreed….let's never EVER let them forget!

    • MarcyFleming

It was over 60 million, not 48. 57.4 million voted for the RINO Romney.

  • pierce

With the Stock Market about to take the plunge,, people are about to take a bath like they have never done. This President is about as bad as he can be. He claims he wants to be bipartisan, but it is his way, or no way. Compromise is not in his vocabulary. John Boehner has to be tough, no two ways about it. You just plain can't trust Barack Obama. HE WILL NOT CHANGE, AND HE WON'T ADMIT WHEN HE IIS WRONG.

    • pcj

unfortunately that is also true of his constituents

    Matt Vadum said:

"For the time being I’ll leave it to others to hold forth on how best to take on the still-expanding Leviathan that President Obama is piloting"

Darn right he will, because the last thing he had to say about the matter before the election was that Obama was a "corrupt Marxist caudillo the likes of which the U.S. had never before seen." If that were the case then Mr. Vadum's choice to blog about it and be an impresario at parties was hardly the lifestyle choice one makes when totalitarian Marxist caudillos take over the country, especially the likes of which the U.S. had never before seen.

Mr. Vadum finishes off with a Drakken moment. Insinuating there will be blood. His exact words are:

"Eventually strife and unrest will take over America […] Secession, revolution, foreign invasion, all these things that look mysterious and crazy and impossible right now could happen in America."

What fear mongering. What bitterness over an election. What lunacy to believe that Mitt Romney was the last best hope for America and markedly different from Obama in his core policies. The commentators go crazy talking about how they already moved their "assets" out of the country, and how much grander Canada is than the United States. What a bunch of liars.

    • wsk

what lunacy that you are allowed to breathe.

    • pagegl

Hi Pravda, you assume Vadum is completely wrong. Keep on dreaming. When the government's credit rating drops and our economy sinks to the same level as Greece's, given Obama's economic policies that time isn't nearly as far away as people think, there is going to be serious upheaval.

      • jemaasjr

Yeah, exactly. When the money runs out it is apt to get nuts.

    • Reis Kash

Unrest is the least thing to worry about. How about revolution, secession, race and class war following a depression worse than 1929? After Obama, even A. Hitler might not look so bad.

    • Drakken

Denial of reality is very very difficult for you folks of the left to comprehend and understand because your worldview can best be summed up as wishful thinking, instead of facts, logic, common sense, connect the dots, etc. The writting is on the wall in bold faced letters for you to read but you will refuse to see it untill it hurts you, by then it will be too late.

    • FPF

The truth is that tax under socialism/communism is legalized robbery, entitlement to people who are not truly poor is legalized steal, and supporting abortion is legalized murder, legalize illegals and disregard the fairness to those who spent years waiting in line legally for their immigration is making illegal equals to legal. Eventually do something "legally" means nothing regarding justice but a tool to silence the opposition, i.e. the truth, and to get the vote. Ignoring history lessons like French revolution, Russian revolution, Chinese revolution, and even America revolution will just lead to revolution after revolution and that is the truth.

  • Asher

If you are in a liberal state, (New York), Michigan, California, etc. in some cases the Federal Government doesn't communicate with the states on preparedness as you can see from New York, and Eastern states…They can't even get polls to put up electrical wires…so the UN wants to take over utility companies now…gas lines, and lack of resources…..Have fun! Elections have consequences.

    • Jill

At this last election the idiots in California (not me) voted themselves taxes so the Unions could have their unsustainable pensions and further control the deamoncraps. Also the deamoncraps now have the majority so California is no longer a democracy it is a one party rule which is what Obozo wants for all of us. I am researching for a new place to live.

      • Ricky Michael

Jill, you would be welcome in Texas.

  • EthanP

What frightens me is that these policies are not the result of incompitance or misplaced idealism. This president and his cronies are part of a radical leftist movement that seeks to cripple the USA military and economy. Go to YouTube. Listen to Obama buddy Van Jones. Listen to Obama pre 2008. Whats happening is NO accident. It is not incompitance. This IS the plan!

    • http://www.facebook.com/celestechristi Celeste Christi

You're absolutely right. If you haven't already, see 2016:Obama's America, It's on demand at Amazon. His plan is complete destruction.

    • Tabby

Yes. It’s called the Cloward Piven strategy. The professor that created it & began bankrupting the system way back when is very proud of Barry for implimenting it so well. And the leader of the Communist Party USA’s statement in response to King Hussein’s fraudulent victory was “We Won”!

      • Mary Sue

what's even more frightening is that Obama's folks and grand-folks were so red they probably taught the kid this very thing.

  • Fred

But since Barry is an illegal President (and this has been proven) his appointments are not legal.

    • banastre tarleton

      you're a real loser

  • PhillipGaley

Well, The Tuesday computer-controlled election with zero accountability, was a crushing defeat; and, we know that, the 17th AM won't be repealed, so, dis-interest at the local level will continue, and the Senate will continue to be elected with all kinds of money from foreign sources.

Also, we will be taken into population reduction through invasion in war, . . . at the least, a lotta criminal types will be dead—the Chinese don't like criminal types, . . .

    And, there's Joe Biden to finish out Obama's term, . . .

    • Mary Sue

The chinese don't like criminal types…unless it's themselves.

The ACLU not defending Youssef is no surprise. This group sided against the State of Oklahoma in a lawsuit against their constitutional amendment banning sharia from being considered in their courts. This is the same group that has opposed the mere display of the Ten Commandments in court buildings or crosses on government property (or even the city seal of Los Angeles). Muslim law can be cited in courts, but Christian law can’t even be visible. The double standard is breathtaking.

    • Ricky Michael

Mr. Foot, you have hit the nail with the hammer.

As hard as it is for me to take, another four very LONG years, it occured to me that there must be a reason. Perhaps this was part of God's plan, and even though I don't like it very much, what is coming is meant to be. We all resist as much as we can, but even so, nothing can change his plan.

Israel, you boys are on your own.

    • Mary Sue

yeah the ACLU is full of Leftists. Mostly ignoramuses that wouldn't know what Sharia was if it chopped their right hands off.

If the ACLU won't come to the defense of the Baculli video guy, then the ACLU has rejected Freedom of Speech and has discredited itself.

So your answer is a return to Bush policies, whereby we will be in a war with Iran overnight, chasing every possible confict to invoke a war of armegeddon so that the Masons can be 'vindicated' in their false prophecies and false messiahs. Sheikh Rahman is the very reason us New Yorkers were attacked on 911, while the architects of 911 sat safetly in their bunkers in Crawford Texas and Kennibunkport Maine. Easy to send people to fight wars and die while you sit like an effendi and eat, huh Mr. Bush? Why don't you suit up and boot up and go fight these Masonic wars yourself, huh Mr. Bush? Because you are a coward of the highest order, and you rely upon decieving others to get them to do your bidding.

    • Stern

"Sheikh Rahman is the very reason us New Yorkers were attacked on 911"???

How on earth do you arrive at that conclusions? The blind sheik attacked New York in 93 and the fact that he was arrested and jailed for it is is now the reason for 9/11?

Wow, that is some twisted thinking.

    • nightspore

How are you at flying F-104's, chum? Do you have that on your CV?

    • pagegl

Shiekh Rahman was one of the planners of the 1993 bombing of the World Trade cener you dimwit. Do you seriously think we should just hand over a convicted terrorist because the Muslim Brotherhood has their collective knickers in a twist? What a maroon…

    • Ar'nun

Ooooh!! They're coming to get you Frank! The Masons and Illuminati are sending the Knights Templar and the Skulls and Bones after you….

The Black Helicopters on his trail right now. It's only a matter of time.

    • Ghostwriter

Mr. Nolo, did you forget to take your meds? Your post was nothing but unprovable nonsense from a conspiracy-addled mind. The real truth behind 9-11 is simple. A bunch of Muslim fanatics attacked us because they hated America and wanted to destroy this country. Also, the intelligence agencies in this country never connected the dots so a tragedy happened. But you don't like that explanation, huh? Better to believe that Bush is some mad genius who wanted a war for unexplained reason rather than the simple truth of a massive intelligence failure and the violent bloodlust of jihadists.

Frank Nolo, You made a big mistake and now the Masons are out to silence you – like OBL.

Honestly Frankie, do you realize how dumb you are?

    • Suzyqpie

Got ya on Bush. Have my own criticism of some of his policies. But our Nobel Peace prize winning drone fleet commander in chief with his kill list works for you, correct? Bam, gone is 0bama's selected target and everyone around him, women, children, and their pets.

  • http://www.facebook.com/frank.nolo Frank Nolo

Anyway, can anyone explain to me the events occuring regarding a lawsuit filed in Southern District of Florida case no 11-cv-23492-MGC. Why is every Republican automatically bashing Obama when he is covering for Bush's crimes. You should be thanking Obama for covering for Bush's crimes, since it has now become a national security issue to cover up crimes committed by our racist neocon zionists in America so that the rest of the world doesn't turn on us. Sad situation all the way around, and still you see these neocons Obama bashing when Obama is the only thing standing between them and a jail cell in guantanamo.

    • Stern

Ooops, silly me, bothering to respond to your first post above. This one tells us who you are and makes it perfectly clear that there's no point debating you. Yet another bloody-minded Jew-hater.

Bush did not commit any crimes, liar. So shut up and leave before we find out where you live and send someone there to shut you up, liar.

I shared the mistaken belief that if Romney ran on the economy and was low-key enough not to scare off the ‘moderates’ and ‘independents’ we would be able to get rid of this manifestly unqualified incumbent. The Republic is gone; the forms may linger on for some time but the great experiment has reached an end as is always inevitable sooner or later. The United States of America has become the Tribal States of America. A new tribalism now exists. Other groups already know this, eventually whites will also as their numbers dwindle; the sooner they come to grips with this fact and their consciousness is raised the better off they will be. Forget about winning the presidency or national elections; concentrate on promoting decentralization and building power regionally while waiting for the inevitable Soviet style collapse of the top heavy system. This also means that we can begin to speak the truth without having the Romney-like worry that we are offending ‘moderates’ or Latinos or some other group whose votes we think we need. We also need to de-program ourselves psychologically from the fear of being called the R word or other such terms.

    • WildJew

I think there is much to commend your analysis, especially your prediction of the Tribal States of America. But I will have to disagree with you on one thing. I never bought into the lie from the Republican "Establishment" or elites (or whatever you want to call them), that an unprincipled moderate – who like George W. Bush lacked conservative / Biblical core values – had the best chance of defeating Obama. Unless the party returns to conservative / Biblical roots, I don't see any good prospects for America and the conservative movement. In the Republican primary, I was looking to vote for the most principled conservative in the race (despite his shortcoming) but Republican voters bought the lie. Some did not buy it; many others did. Will we continue to buy into the lie.

      • rbla

Like George Bailey I'm not a praying man; but I'm not against biblical values – a little more morality and self-restraint would be excellent. But most 'biblical values' seem to focus on one thing – abortion. Although I'm pro-choice I understand the necessity for Republican candidates to pander to their evangelical and religious base. But wouldn't it have been nice for Republicans to obssess at least as much about stopping the conversion of America into a third world swamp through mass legal and illegal immigration, as they do about fetuses?

        • Shefali

Romney never obsessed about abortion – but the media kept talking about the GOP war on women. But it was the Dems doing most of it – except for a couple of boneheads like Akin and Murdoch. Romney was pretty low key about the social issues, I thought. Yet he still lost… I guess the women who voted for him would rather have unrestricted abortion and free birth control than a booming economy and better jobs… so sad.

To the Obama Ho's, Private Parts are more important than Public Sector.

    • Stern

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”
      ― Alexis de Tocqueville (1805-1859)

      • C. J. Law

Our founding fathers new what you write about to be true. They designed and put into play a Republic hence the three branchs of Goverment to protect us from the cult of personality that Democracy delivers from time to time. Hitler was elected under Democracy. We have at this time the House and the Supreme Court standing between us and Mr. O’s grand progressive takeover of the Republic, this relection moves us very close to the edge and should any of the current Justice’s retire anytime soon this fragile Republic will die.

    • Ghostwriter

I've been reading more prophecies of doom lately than Nostradamus predicted in his lifetime. I hope none of what you say comes to pass. That would be a sad thing for the world if this country disappeared.

    • Shefali

I'm an American of Asian heritage, and I'm conservative/Libertarian. I voted for Romney. I don't want a tribal country. You can't lump all people of any ethnic group together – just like plenty of whites voted for Obama, there are Asians, Hispanics and even blacks who believe in limited government. I think a huge part of the problem though, is that in order to become a conservative, those of us who are from immigrant families often have to be iconoclasts. The public schools and the media are all very leftist. The only reason I stopped being relatively liberal (despite growing up in a strong family with dreams of success) was that I was intrigued by a friend's quoting Ayn Rand, so I went out and bought a copy of Atlas Shrugged and read it. This opened my mind to the value of free markets. I also had many Christian friends and over time I realized the media stereotypes about them were wrong, which led me to do some research on Christianity, the founding of this country, etc., and I discovered that a lot of what I had learned in school was a lie.

Unfortunately, most people probably don't spend the time to do their own research. We're all busy and it's a lot harder to go against what teachers teach you (especially for Asians who are taught to respect teachers) or to go against what you hear on the news and in TV shows. Plus all the "cool" kids in school and college tend to be leftists, and they are better at defining themselves in a positive way.

The reality is that while Asians and Hispanics should have a natural affinity for the American dream, strong values, etc., they don't hear the message. And blacks would also be open to a lot of the GOP message, I would imagine – but, again, they don't hear it.

I'm thinking more and more secession may be a good option for those of us who don't want to live in a socialist country. Maybe the South SHOULD secede from the union…

I also think, unfortunately, that thanks to Obama's policies, we'll get another terrorist attack pretty soon. I wonder how the media will spin that to being all Bush's fault?

      • Mary Sue

and what they do hear are distortions like Republicans are for dirty air, dirty water, dirty food…

  • Chanameel

What better way to bring in the New World Order?

Destroy our economy, open up the borders between US, Mexico and Canada, and unite the world
under "international law" which would be….Sharia Law.

At least we won't have to look at Michelle and Hillary anymore, they will be wearing burkas.

    • Mary Sue

I dunno, one look at an angry lady like michelle my belle has me thinking people will get very seriously hurt before she ever puts on a burqa.

  • Spinoneone

Huummmm….I wonder if we are not about to see the birth of a new political party. "Conservative" may be in for a new definition to include people for smaller government, balanced budgets and individual freedom. What, you say, isn't that today's Republicans? No, I would say, because the "right wing social conservatives" of the Republican Party do not really believe in individual freedom. Perhaps it could become the new "Center Party." Among core beliefs might be cutting the size of the Federal government, reducing the debt, reducing entitlements while supporting the truly needy, promoting individual liberty, and maintaining a strong national defense. Yes spinoneone, a new conservative party concentrated on core values. Actually, the Tea Party has and is attempting to do just that by infiltrating and using the infrastructure of the Republican Party. No secret, that's our goal. Please encourage all similar minded to get involved with your local Tea Party. Our primary strength is in numbers. Our major difficulty is trying to 'organize' spirited individualists all of whom have other interesting pursuits.

  • clarespark

I agree with those who suggest a political realignment along the lines that founded the Republican Party in the 1850s. How about a party that limited itself to fiscal responsibility and attacked the master narrative that guides all populist-progressive reasoning? I wrote about that narrative here: http://clarespark.com/2012/11/07/capitalism-is-on…. "Capitalism is on the line."

  • Stern

Just wondering. If Obama frees the blind sheik, who actually, physically perpetrated a very real attack on America, should he not also consider freeing Jonathan Pollard, who did not harm America in any way, whose only crime was to pass information to an ally that should have been given to that ally anyway? Of course, we already know the answer to that one. Pollard wasn't even allowed out of jail to go – under guard – to his father's funeral.

    • Mary Sue

This brings up an interesting question, as to why it was necessary for Johnathan Pollard to "spy for Israel". Shouldn't the things he gave them, have been something they were entitled to anyway because they are presumably an ally of the US? Makes me wonder just what exactly the USA was holding out on Israel to begin with.

      • PaulRevereNow

If you want a good account of exactly how the U.S. has treated Israel, since 1948(actually it begins before then), read "The Secret War against the Jews," by John Loftus and Mark Aarons.

        • Mary Sue

ah cool, I will have to look that up. One thing that is brought to mind that I haven't heard much of "the other side" about that the kooks constantly bring up, is the whole USS Liberty thing. Is there an unbiased or reasonably fair assessment of the Israeli side of the story with that?

The US too has sadly been a victim and a perpetrator of "friendly fire".

iranian plane shot down because it was flying over a US warship and did not respond to calls from the ship.

If the people who are pushing the "Israel did it on purpose" would ALSO acknowledge what Islamists have done, on purpose, to the USS Cole, IEDs in iraq and afghanistan, Pan Am 103, Robert F. Kennedy, 9/11, Londons 7/7/05.

But the Liberty conspiracy cult never does look at the deaths of Americans at the hand of Islamofascists.

          • Mary Sue

"a huge chunk of the populace seems unaware of just how rotten things are."

This line sums it up. After decades of a Liberal dominated media, Liberal dominated schools, Liberal dominated TV/Movies/music, and a Liberals buying minority votes, we can't deprogram this brainwashing. We can't, this is the hard reality those of us on the right need to face.

If the Republican in the House go back to DC and come out guns a blazin and oppose all the Liberals ideals, we will never ever get our country back. Liberals will continue to claim they are "obstructionists" and the Liberal media will back them up and the people not thinking for themselves or totally informed will buy it. And come mid term election we will probably lose the House, and more seats in the Senate, and a few Republican Governors.

    • Ar'nun

Republicans need to throw up their hands, they don't necessarily have to vote Yeah on America Destroying Liberal initiatives, they just have to be there to protect and keep in tact the Constitution. Let the Liberals raise taxes. Let them create new taxes; let them have their Cap and Trade. Let them grant Amnesty to illegals. Let them allow the Middle East to get worse. Let them widdle down our Nuclear Supply. Let them do everything they have always claimed would fix everything. We are confident it won't and it will make things worse. Keep this faith. Times will be hard, blood will be spilled, and people will suffer. But mark my words, if we go this strategy, in 4 years the country will be begging for Conservatives. Democrats will be pretending to be Conservatives. And all the indoctrinating will be washed away because everyone will have witnessed Liberalism in action.

Look at what is going on in North Korea right now: They love their dictator and blame America for their misfortunes.

Mr. Vadum appears to be some one who is very afraid and very misinformed.

The whole article seems to be either unsubstantiated and parts of it simply implicit. Some quick observations for example:

    The Fear:
President Obama will also likely continue to attack free speech protections using executive orders and bureaucratic skulduggery. He has already issued 140 executive orders and is fond of making recess appointments for key federal posts — even when Congress is not technically in recess.

    The Facts:
First the executive orders. This is normal presidential behavior for either party. According to about.com:

Presidents typically issue executive orders for one of these purposes:

    1. Operational management of the executive branch
    2. Operational management of federal agencies or officials
    3. To carry out statutory or constitutional presidential responsibilities

Presumably there are specific executive orders that disturbs Mr. Vadum like
13625 For "Improving Access to Mental Health Services for Veterans, Service Members, and Military Families" or "13616 Accelerating Broadband Infrastructure Deployment". But its not clear from his article.

    For the recess appointments:
According to reports from the Congressional Research Service, during their time in office President Ronald Reagan made 240 recess appointments, President George H. W. Bush made 77 recess appointments, President Bill Clinton made 140 recess appointments, and George W. Bush made 171. Obama's first term had 28. Is Mr. Vadum afraid The President is making too few?

There then follows much hand wringing over foreign policy. Apparently Vadum missed the presidential debates where it appeared Romney and Obama agreed on everything (except maybe Romeny was slightly more pro Israel) and both looked to bring the conversation to domestic issues where they had some differences. Further, regarding the "terrorist threat" as Professor Richard Jackson has documented, there is a greater risk of dying from lightning strikes or bathtub falls than terrorism.

So I think its important to note that the only reason America will panic is if they give up the freedom of thinking for them selves and self reliance for forming their own opinions by questioning the shivering fearful writers … and maybe giving them a reassuring hug ; )

I should add the disclaimer I do not think Obama is the particularly good. He seems not much better than Bush nor Romney for that matter. Nor is Front Page magazine always wrong in the particulars. Still thats no reason to let rants go unanswered.

    • mkat68

"there is a greater risk of dying from lightning strikes or bathtub falls than terrorism"

Tell that to the people in the World Trade Center on 9/11. Trivializing a threat will not make it go away.

"if they give up the freedom of thinking for them selves and self reliance for forming their own opinions"

The people of this country did that already, on Election Day.

  • caroleigh tucker

Many years ago, as a new graduate nurse I sat in a operating room lounge listening to conversations. Cuba had missiles pointed and ready to fire at U. S . We were discussing surgical cancellations and home preparations. It was very frightening, all I could think of was to get in my Volkswagen and drive from Buffalo to Syracuse and get home.

Never thought in my lifetime I would ever feel the same, but I do now. I’m afraid. Obama the closet Muslim bit by bit destroying all that America stands for. • WeHaveToFightThem

O'dumbo. That's funnie. You know, about his ears and all.

    • NomoreB

Yes, right! The biggest pain I have not so much because I expected big improvement from new administration very soon, but because America is tolerant with wrong doing of this president. When it was recession during Carter's presidency, look at this map on this website, almost all states were red
and now, I am sure that we are worse than it was late 70s. It means that America has different people now, we admitted so many bad people and they make those illegals and food stampers stronger

  • Western Spirit

Why hasn't anyone suggested a spiritual awakening in the land. Spirit isn't seen but its as real as thought, that also isn't seen.

The Bible tells us we do not fight against flesh and blood but against principalities and other spiritual Entities therefore we need a spiritual awakening because that's what we are fighting.

In our common human memory we remember a paradise lost and we are striving to regain it through human means. Therefore the evil one has seized on the wish for a Utopia to trick us once again into slavery and that's where we are headed.

    • WilliamJamesWard

Only those who forego the Scriptures and refuse to accept spiritual verity will be
headed for a great fall. Secular humanism has done it's damage, false scientific
theory, the desire for there to be no one accountable to for one's person, these
things move towards loss of human integrity and failure to meet Spiritual and
visceral demands for a future of respect of the person from government. A new
form of human forgery will spin off of the past and into a future without surety,
God's presence and a Church that gives light into the World….for us end times.

  • burt

The Republicans need to insist on a nationwide recount, or in the swing states. This was election fraud on a massive scale. They are not doing the country any favors by quietly stepping aside. Actually, that's what these criminals hope they do.

[Note by JW: We are being asked to believe that Romney got close to three million fewer votes in 2012 than John McCain got in 2008. That's not possible. This election is a fraud. I don't know exactly how – rigging voting machines, hacking tabulation software, not counting military absentee ballots, whatever. What I do know is that it is totally beyond believability and into the realm of ridiculously absurd that Romney actually got any fewer votes than McCain in 2008, much less millions fewer. Thus the answer to Dave's question must be Yes.]

First of all, Obama received 10 million less votes than he did in 2008. The part that is unbelievable is that Romney received 3 million less votes than McCain. At the end of the day, Obama won in the 4 critical swing states by 500,000 votes.

But it is worse than that. We can look at who voted. By examining the number of Independents and their preference shift among actual voters, we know that 5 million Independents changed their votes from Obama to Romney. So Romney started the day 2.5 million votes ahead of where McCain was in 2008.

This means that 5.5 million Republican voters are not accounted for.
They didn't show up at the polls, or their votes were not counted. We know now that no subgroup of the coalition decided to sit out. So the current attempts to blame the Social Conservatives are stupid. All of our groups showed up to vote at the rates they did in 2008. For this to be true, over 10% of Republicans needed to decide not to vote this year, who did vote in 2008.

    Does that make any sense?
In fact, it is even worse, we know for a fact that heavy GOP counties were swamped all day. We watched all day as, e.g., Pasco County Florida was showing huge increases in GOP voters over the 2008 numbers.

In Virginia, with 69% of the precincts in, Romney held a 6% lead. Yet once a small number of counties reported, that lead disappeared.
If the vote drop off occurred, it occurred in a very small number of counties. It was not visible nationwide.
I contend that you can not get a 10% drop off in GOP turnout without it being noticeable during the GOTV effort, measures of enthusiasm in polling, or visibly lower turnout in GOP leaning precincts.

For anyone who doesn't want to think that the Obama campaign would engage in such blatant election fraud, contemplate this. These are the same people who ran Fast and Furious without regard for the cost in human lives, turned off their credit card verification system to allow fraudulent donations, removed voters ID requirement and allowed four Americans in Libya to die because it was politically inconvenient. Do you really think that massive election fraud is something they wouldn't do?

If this is true, then we have some hard things to consider.
First of all, we are now needlessly fracturing our coalition pointing fingers at people for not voting. Second, we are making an assumption about the make up of the American public that is not true. We are going to modify our party and message to appeal to a group of individuals who do not represent the majority of the population.
Most difficult to believe is that we are living in Venezuela where our elections are merely for show, and the people in charge of the Governments decide who will win elections. We become wards of the State, which is the aim of those who stole this election.

So how can this be proved?
I am going to start by looking at a few key counties in Florida. What I want to see is the voter registration numbers by party, and then compare them to the actual votes received. Theoretically, if this were to be done for all counties in Florida, we could see where the fraud occurred.
Comparing the votes Romney received to the strike lists would show that in specific counties Romney received something like 50% of the Republican vote (picking a number out of the air) while we know that nationwide he received 95% of the Republican vote.To really get to the answer, we would need to get the registration books, which might be possible through Freedom of Information act. Those show who actually voted, by name, and their party. The media will not pursue this. This will take citizen journalists working in every state. ("Dave in Fla" runs the DiF Poll Analysis website.)

But a super debt cycle collapse is coming. He, the Fed, nothing can stop it, they can only delay it with money creation, and the longer they can put it off the worse it will be when it hits. After the collapse America will either be a totalitarianism or a renewed crony capitalist economy.
