Egyptian Actress Under Fire for Playing Mother Teresa

Hanan Tork, a popular actress in the Middle East of Egyptian origins, who recently took to the hijab and retired from acting, has returned to the silver screen—to much criticism and threats from the same Muslims who formerly praised her for donning the veil. According to Al Sawt, the actress is under “vicious attack” for accepting to play the role of Mother Teresa, the Catholic nun who, for 45 years, dedicated her life to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying.

The problem, however, is that Mother Teresa was a Christian; and playing her role required the Muslim actress to wear the crucifix around her neck and read some Biblical verses, thereby incensing Islamists, to the point that they proclaimed her an apostate infidel, through takfir—just as they did with many other artists, most recently, Adel Emam.

Earlier Tork had said that she does not “consider playing such a role as risky, due to the fact that she will be playing the role of a woman who is very religious and lives her life based on religious principals and ethics.” She is now discovering that such “ecumenism” is primarily a Western construct, and that, for many in the Islamic world, a Muslim merely acting the life of a Christian, wearing the cross or quoting the Bible, is a great crime—regardless of the saintly life led by the Christian.

    Thank you Raymond.

It is no secret that Islam's goal is world rule. World dominance is the openly stated aim of Islam. It sees itself swallowing up the non-Islamic world-and it means to do so with whatever means are available. Though not all Muslims would fully commit to such a grand, and monstrous, undertaking, the Muslim leadership has, and it is a major part of the religion's doctrinal system. Therefore, the world domination goal defines Islam as a cult.

"The Big Lie is a propaganda technique commonly used by totalitarian regimes."…"When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told even the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself… I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and it is intended to". Another example of brutality and idiocy from Islam, "the religion of peace." It isn't enough that Muslims routinely threaten to kill Christians; now they're threatening to kill an actress whose "crime" is simply playing one. Unbelievable.

Somehow,I'm not surprised at this. Not in the least.

RE: "The problem, however, is that Mother Teresa was a Christian"

FACT: Mother Teresa Was A Universalist.

    Mother Teresa said:
“I love all religions. … If people become better Hindus, better Muslims, better Buddhists by our acts of love, then there is something else growing there.”

    Mother Teresa:
“All is God — Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, etc., all have access to the same God.”

Mother Teresa held beliefs that diametrically contradict the Biblical.

Uh …Mother Theresa was a Roman Catholic , but one who practiced the TRUE FAITH , and set aside the man made parts of Roman Catholicism ….which are many .
When it comes to even an image of the cross , muslims are like vampires , it upsets them greatly ,and that due to their CULT , turns them to violent reaction . I oft wonder if muslims , instead of imitating G-D , are actually imitating Satan .

Mother Teresa is portrayed by the media and popularized in our culture as a glorified (soon to be beatified) and almost deified Saint.

A close examination of her beliefs, her many quotes (supporting her beliefs), and the work she did shows that her legacy may be little more fictional than Christian

Consider her following quote (in the context of many similar statements):

Mother Teresa said: “I love all religions. … If people become better Hindus, better Muslims, better Buddhists by our acts of love, then there is something else growing there.”

Mother Teresa:“All is God — Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, etc., all have access to the same God.”

Mother Teresa held beliefs that contradict the Biblical.
Chief among these principles is that Christ is the only means of salvation. In John 14:6 Jesus states, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

She taught that all religions could bridge the gap between man and God.

Mother Teresa taught principles completely opposed to the Bible. At the same time she taught a bizarre “pseudo-pantheism” in which she believed Jesus was present in everyone. She said, “When we destroy an unborn child, we destroy God” (Nov 11, 1985 – Christian News)

    .

so ding me for the truth.

I suggest YOU study the TRUE principles of Christianity , which are NOT necessarrily those of Roman Catholic Dogma . If you conclude that she taught " a bizarre psuedo-pantheism " , then you know nothing of the True Christian faith , nor do you know anything about Mother Theresa . Go study both before you put for such uninformed and ignorant statements . What ? is some lamebrained misguided article from " Christian News " your measure for credibility ? And WHICH of the over 2000 Sects of congregations calling themselves "christian " was this from ?? Funny , when someone actually LIVES the true Faith rather than talk it , they meet with " MAN'S CRTITICISM " .

Read ALL of the comments , many of which are far more insightfull than yours .

Are you sure your criticism doesn't originate in the possibility that Mother Theresa did not uphold repocon ideology ? p.s. Investigate the Biblical meaning of what a " saint " is .

Omar Sharif was nearly crucified by the Moslems for playing St. Peter. Mother Theresa was saintly, but she was at odds with traditional Catholic teachings. Pope JP II was big on the ecumenical concept, placing Christianity on the same level as cannibalism. He even held up and kissed a Koran.

The true believers dwIndle, Christianity fades, darkness is upon the world.
