Muslim Persecution of Christians and Media Whitewashing

Pages: 1 2

The following article was originally published by the Stonegate Institute.

When it comes to Muslim persecution of Christians, the mainstream media (MSM) have a long paper trail of obfuscating; while they eventually do state the bare-bone facts—if they ever report on the story in the first place, which is rare—they do so after creating and sustaining an aura of moral relativism that minimizes the Muslim role.

False Moral Equivalency

As previously discussed, one of the most obvious ways is to evoke “sectarian strife” between Muslims and Christians, a phrase that conjures images of two equally matched—equally abused, and abusive—adversaries fighting. This hardly suffices to describe reality: Muslim majorities persecuting largely passive Christian minorities.

Boko Haram seeks to enforce Sharia law; here, members stand in front of a distinctly Islamic banner. Yet the MSM claims the group's goals are "unclear."

Most recently, for instance, in the context of the well-documented suffering of Christians in Egypt, an NPR report declared “In Egypt, growing tensions between Muslims and Christians have led to sporadic violence [initiated by whom?]. Many Egyptians blame the interreligious strife on hooligans [who?] taking advantage of absent or weak security forces. Others believe it’s because of a deep-seated mistrust between Muslims and the minority Christian community [how did the "mistrust" originate?].” Though the report does highlight cases where Christians are victimized, the tone throughout suggests that examples of Muslims victimized by Christians could just as easily have been found (not true). Even the title of the report is “In Egypt, Christian-Muslim Tension is on the Rise”; the accompanying photo is of a group of angry Christians, one militantly holding a cross aloft—not Muslims destroying crosses, which is what prompts the former to such displays of religious solidarity.

Two more strategies that fall under the MSM’s umbrella of obfuscating and minimizing Islam’s role—strategies that the reader should become acquainted with—appeared in recent reports dealing with the jihadi group Boko Haram and its ongoing genocide of Nigeria’s Christians.

First, some context: Boko Haram, whose full name in Arabic is “Sunnis for Da’wa [Islamization] and Jihad,” is a terrorist organization dedicated to the overthrow of the secular government and establishment of Sharia law (sound familiar?). It has been slaughtering Christians for years, with an uptick since last December’s Christmas day church bombing, which left 40 Christians dead, followed by its New Year ultimatum that all Christians must evacuate northern regions or die—an ultimatum Boko Haram has been living up to, as hardly a day goes by without a terrorist attack on Christians or churches, most recently, last Sunday’s Easter day church attack that killed nearly 50.

Blurring the Line between Persecutor and Victim

Now consider some MSM strategies. The first one is to frame the conflict between Muslims and Christians in a way that blurs the line between persecutor and victim, for example, this recent BBC report on one of Boko Haram’s many church attacks that left three Christians dead, including a toddler. After stating the bare-bone facts, the report goes on to describe how “the bombing sparked a riot by Christian youths, with reports that at least two Muslims were killed in the violence. The two men were dragged off their bikes after being stopped at a roadblock set up by the rioters, police said. A row of Muslim-owned shops was also burned…” The report goes on and on, with a special section about “very angry” Christians, till one all but confuses victims with persecutors, forgetting what the Christians are “very angry” about in the first place: unprovoked and nonstop terror attacks on their churches, and the murder of their women and children.

Everybody says there is this RACE problem. Everybody says this RACE problem will be solved when the third world pours into EVERY White country and ONLY into White countries.
The Netherlands and Belgium are just as crowded as Japan or Taiwan, but nobody says Japan or Taiwan will solve this RACE problem by bringing in millions of third worlders and quote assimilating unquote with them.
Everybody says the final solution to this RACE problem is for EVERY White country and ONLY White countries to “assimilate,” i.e., intermarry, with all those non-Whites.
What if I said there was this RACE problem and this RACE problem would be solved only if hundreds of millions of non-blacks were brought into EVERY black country and ONLY into black countries?
How long would it take anyone to realize I’m not talking about a RACE problem. I am talking about the final solution to the BLACK problem?
And how long would it take any sane black man to notice this and what kind of psycho black man wouldn’t object to this?
But if I tell that obvious truth about the ongoing program of genocide against my race, the White race, Liberals and respectable conservatives agree that I am a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews.
They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-White.
    Anti-racist is a code word for anti-White.

Could be true as according to statistics whites used to make up 30% of the world's population. Then came WW1 and WW2 wiping out millions ( many were Christians against Christians) then birth control and abortion, which only affects the whites as a whole, now whites are only 8% of world's population.White genocide ? Why is the question.
Christians everywhere of all colour are targeted, millions persecuted and killed every year in " non-white" countries.

      • D S Dunlap

That isn't entirely true. In the US, abortions are estimated to have halved the number of BLACK children who would otherwise be part of the US populations.

Still and all, Islam is targeting all non-Muslims.

        • Hanna

True about the blacks and abortion, although as you mention mainly in the US , but I was highlighting the white populations demise WORLDWIDE. Or are you suggesting the white population exceeds 8% of world's population ?
if you have other statistics , I am interested as I could of course be in error.
Yes islam targets all non-Muslims, but mainly Christians are being persecuted globally and the West does nothing.

      Great comment. Right on target.

My reply is about Harry's comment. The other commenters are off topic.

Islam, Christianity,Judaism are religions not races.

  • Dispozadaburka

Islam worships the moon g-d, Sin or Baal.

Christians and Jews worship, the Lord G-d of Israel.

Remember Jews are "G-d's chosen people"
Jesus was a very orthodox Jew and a Master Kababalist in Healing.
John the Baptist was a very orthodox Jew and a Master Kabbalist in the "mikveh" or Baptism.

That is why Islam wants to convert or kill those who don't believe in Ba al.
    Pure Luciferian Doctrine.
It goes hand in hand with the strategy behind "globalization."

  • Marty

The moral equivalency argument is obviously silly. The West really is the Best. Our values have accelerated the pace of technological and scientific progress that the Rest has benefitted from and refuses to acknowledge. To apologize on behalf of the West to the Rest is an exercise in futility. islam especially has absolutely no position that can be defended or is worth defending. sharia law defies logic, economic development, and humane resolutions of conflict. islam cannot be moderated or reformed. It must instead be cleansed and that means eliminating three fifths of the koran and nearly all of sharia. Happily, islam would then cease to be islam. islam is no different and is probably more lethal than communism and fascism. These last two totalitarian and genocidal ideologies could not be compromised wit (let alone appeased) but instead had to be completely destroyed. That is a lesson we should all remember and act on.

    • D S Dunlap

"Western" Civilization has become the hallmark of progress, and every nation that seeks to better itself looks to the example of the "West." This is part of the reason Islam is acting out, true to form, so violently in so many places, particularly in Africa.

I got three things to say here that, though I cannot prove with complete certainty, make sense when you look at Islam, the Qur'an and Hadith, and what's going on.

      1) Islam is a racist ideology. The Qur'an describes the Arabs as "the best of peoples." This, right there, tells you that anyone who is not Arab is looked upon as inferior, to varying degrees, in Islam. This is why nearly every Muslim country, whatever its native language might have been, looks to "Arabize" its culture and language as much as possible, and in places like Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and North Africa, everyone speaks mostly Arabic. Also, though Jews are Islam's #1 hate target, black people are not too far behind; particularly if they resist being enslaved or do not wish to and will not convert to Islam. This is why every time I hear some "black" Muslim say that Islam is the religion for the Black Man, I want to reach out and touch him with a battle-ax. Muhammad speaks of "ugly black slave" and describes black people as "having a head like a raisin." I suspect that it is Islam and contacts therewith that taught the European to have a dislike for black people (of course, the Transatlantic Slave Trade needed a justification to the Christian mind, because deep down it rebelled against the idea of making people slaves to other people); the Christian ethos spurred the drive to end slavery and recognize the basic human dignity and rights of ALL human beings. Islam doesn't even acknowledge free will.

      ———————————————————————————————————————————-
      2) Islam is misogynist. If you don't believe me, look at all the "honour killings" that occur in the Islamic world and even where there are Muslims in the "West". The very Qur'an says that women are "deficient in intelligence and in religion" and that "the majority of those in hell fire were women." If that ain't misogyny, I don't know what is. I won't even go into "female circumcision" because I don't wish to cause anyone to vomit by describing it.

      ————————————————————————————————————————————————
      3) Islam is intellectually bankrupt. Nearly every civilization and people has made some contribution to the general scope of human scientific knowledge, philosophy, and interpersonal dealings. Not Islam. In fact, as we can see from looking at the Muslims who reside in the "West" *which could be seen as anywhere Islam does NOT dominate*, Islam tends to drive societies backward. For instance, Persia (modern Iran) was once a center of scientific progress and thought. Even when the Muslims first conquered the area, Persia continued to contribute to the general human knowledge database. The so-called "Islamic" learning was done mostly by Zoroastrians, Christians and Jews, and those nominal Muslims who would not give up their seekings. They often had to do their research and work in secret. Once the population became predominantly Muslim, the progress stopped. It revived for a period of a century, but that was due to the Mongols ruling the area and, before their leadership assimilated and converted to Islam in that region, promoted research and progress.

      • D S Dunlap

        Continued from above:

For hundreds of years, people in parts of Sub-Saharan Africa (and in parts of China, too) were inocculated against smallpox a few centuries before Jenner's discovery that milkmaids didn't get smallpox often because they were exposed to cowpox. Most of these areas were outside the Islamic sway; had they not been, Ilsam would have stopped the people from doing it because it would have been considered interfering with "The will of Allah."

Timbuktu and other cities of the Mali kingdom (roughly the same area as modern Mali, with parts of Senegal, Gambia, Nigeria and Niger thrown in), though their leaders were Muslims, were centers of knowledge exchange and book producing. As Islam gained more sway over the people, that ran down to nothing ( an invasion from fully Islamic North Africa in the 1570s during the time of the successor kingdom of Songhai, didn't help, either). The Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire continued to preserve the knowledge and learning of the Ancient Greeks and Romans. It was from there, and in various monasteries in western Europe, particuarly in England and Ireland, that the Western Europeans began to get the information to bring themselves out of the "Dark Ages" (which weren't quite so dark as we were once led to believe). As Islam encroached more and more on Byzantine lands, scientific progress slowed. As far as information and learning from the "Far East" is concerned, not much of that began to reach the West until the Mongols, beginning with Genghis Khan, broke the Islamic stranglehold on trade and travel for a time, and Western Europeans, including the Polos of Venice, could travel in reasonable safety to China and other parts of the "Far East" that were under Mongol control. When the Mongol Empire splintered and then the Ilkhans of Persia converted to Islam, that effectively ended, but by that time, Europeans had gained (or regained) enough knowledge, skill, and daring to sail down the African coast and around to East Asia, and also west to "new" continents (though the Norwegians and the Danes knew of parts of North America a few centuries before).

Had Islam ruled the then-known world, no such voyages would have been undertaken, and philosophical, intellectual, and humanitarian progress would have DIED entirely, as it has in the Islamic world, where their most respected "Scholars" are scholars of the Qur'an, Hadith, and Shari'a.

We can see that Islam is NOT equal to "The West," and as a "Westerner" myself, I see no reason for us to apologize to "the Rest." It is "the West" that has pushed the boundaries of what was known and knowable, and it owes much of that to the Judaeo-Christian worldview, of which one of the central ideas driving said scientific, technological, and intellectual progress comes from the Lord Jesus Christ, Himself; though he was speaking of the "Kingdom of God", it is also applicable to learning about the world around us. The idea is found in Matthew 7:7: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Islam says that all that there is to know is to be found in the Qur'an, the Hadith, and the Sina (biography of Muhammad); The Judaeo-Christian ethos says that we can know more of God by looking at Creation.

Let us fight Islam and drive it out of our world.

          DS,
You go long like as in book long but if you wrote books for a living I would buy them.
          You definitely get it.

There will be genocide in the US when the few Americans left realize why genocide has taken place in so many other countries against muslims. The evil main news media and the rest of the yellow-bellies will be in the crosshairs also!!!!

Ibrahim is misleading. The WP article reads: "ad_icon

In the group's deadliest attack on Christians last year, militants stormed a Baghdad church in October, killing dozens. The group vowed to mount more attacks, citing the case of two Egyptian Christian women who had reportedly converted to Islam to obtain divorces, a practice the Coptic Church prohibits. It accused the church of imprisoning and isolating the women and forcing them to disavow Islam, which the church denies.

In a statement issued Saturday, the Coptic Church did not attribute the attack to foreign forces, calling it instead an "escalation of sectarian violence against Copts," according to the Egyptian daily al-Masry al-Youm. "

This is a statement from the Coptic Church.

  • aspacia

Ibrahim is misleading. The WP article cites what the Coptic Church officials stated.

Bloggers, I strongly suggest you read these articles before passing judgement about these Christian attacks. Also, Ibrahim is correct about msn underreporting Muslim massacres.
