Carrying Water for Jihad at ‘The Nation’

Pages: 1 2

The Left’s flagship publication, the Nation, has devoted its latest issue to “Islamophobia,” demonstrating yet again the lengths to which American “progressives” will go in order to run interference for their Islamic supremacist charges.

The Nation’s fondness for the enemies of America and the West is nothing new. Over a period of fifty years, its record is consistent: The Nation supported Communism through the Stalin and post-Stalin eras, and even offered comradely support to Maoism and Castroism. Thus its new role as shill for Islamic supremacists and the Muslim Brotherhood is really not new at all. Throughout its post-World War II history, the Nation has always had a soft spot for totalitarians who trample on human rights, while claiming to be the foremost defender of those rights.

On the other hand, the Nation is a Johnny-come-lately to the “Islamophobia” game. Its special issue is preceded by the smearing of critics of Islamic supremacism by Hamas-linked CAIR, the Marxist retreads at FAIR, and the Islamic supremacist-infiltrated Center for American Progress. The only innovation in the Nation’s gutter attack on those who have had the temerity to stand up for the human rights trampled on in the Islamic world is the new low achieved by Max Blumenthal in his hit piece on philanthropist Nina Rosenwald, who has given a large part of her fortune to efforts to defend freedom.

As David Horowitz and I show in our pamphlet, Islamophobia: Thoughtcrime of the Totalitarian Future, the very term “Islamophobia” is an invention of the Muslim Brotherhood designed to intimidate and discredit its critics. FBI statistics show that there is actually no serious problem of “Islamophobia.” In fact, many “anti-Muslim hate crimes” have been faked by the very organizations – CAIR in particular – that cry wolf every time an Islamic terrorist is fingered. As a matter of hard statistical fact, Jews are eight times more likely than Muslims to be the victims of hate attacks.

Meanwhile, Islamic jihadists continue to penetrate our borders and operate in the United States. Recent jihad plotters include Naser Abdo, the would-be second Fort Hood jihad mass murderer; Khalid Aldawsari, the would-be jihad mass murderer in Lubbock, Texas; Muhammad Hussain, the would-be jihad bomber in Baltimore; Mohamed Mohamud, the would-be jihad bomber in Portland; Nidal Hasan, the successful Fort Hood jihad mass-murderer; Faisal Shahzad, the would-be Times Square jihad mass-murderer; Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, the Arkansas military recruiting station jihad murderer; Naveed Haq, the jihad mass murderer at the Jewish Community Center in Seattle; Mohammed Reza Taheri-Azar, the would-be jihad mass murderer in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Ahmed Ferhani and Mohamed Mamdouh, who hatched a jihad plot to blow up a Manhattan synagogue; and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the would-be Christmas airplane jihad bomber.

Nonetheless, as far as the Nation is concerned, any attention paid to the Islamic jihad against the West is a manifestation of bigotry — Islamophobia. Genuine bigotry and persecution of innocent people is never excusable, which is why the Nation’s special issue is so repellent. To dismiss concerns about jihad and smear those who oppose it is sinister in the same way that the American progressives who worked for the Soviet Union – and thus betrayed their country — were sinister.

Why would the Nation one day rue the fact that Sharia triumphs? Extreme Leftism is a severe mental disorder (first expiicated by Michael Savage). Leftism has a nucleus of self-destruction. Or is Leftism a modern secular religion in which martrydom (i.e. self destruction) is an important component?

    • BS77

Some phobias are rationally based. Most Americans would do well to be afraid, be very afraid of the insanity of sharia….a hideous Dark Age ideology that shares the madness, intolerance and misery of North Korean tyranny and other terrible forms of subjugation found in history….. Charles Martell is telling the West to wake up and wake up now!

It's very clear to me that Obama, Holder and the left are working for Islam, shariah law, fascism, domination of U.S. Sovereignty.

Hitler nationalized a car company – so did Obama
Hitler nationalized health care – so did Obama
Hitler took control of food, water and other natural resources – Obama has done this by Exec. order.
Hitler was vegetarian and believed in Mother earth and New Age. Christians were persecuted and martyrd. Only the true Christians recognize that Obama is NOT Christian. There is no such thing as "collective salvation" and there is only one path to salvation – Jesus Christ. Obama says there are many paths. Dead giveaway for a fraud!

The list goes on and on. (see 26 similarities of Nazis In America) by Brannon Howse, Worldview Weekend.

As a long time vegetarian I must protest this slur.
The first diet in Genesis is vegetarian and Jesus was a vegetarian.
My politics is independent of diet and clear about understanding the danger of the lunatic left.
And isn't Obama and his chunky wife consuming unhealthy corpses all the time?

      • Crossbow87

        Jesus was a vegetarian?

      • RoguePatriot6

Jesus, a vegetarian. Wow, this is new news to me.

      • V_O

Didn't Jesus eat fish? But that doesn't matter…, nothing wrong with vegetarians… Especially vegetarians who call the lunatic left for what it is.

    • Rotait

I can't believe that this canard is still running – Hitler was not a veggie.
And where did you read that he believed in ' Mother earth and New Age ' ( whatever they are ) ?
Having said that it is clear that the Mankenyan Candidate is working to an Islamic Agenda ( and , in passing , sacrificing OBL was a neat trick )

The left's desire to promote islamaphobia as something real which it isn't…..but the islam murders and islam racism
is real….but they won't report it…..Just don't buy their magazines and newspapers anymore…will help decline their message. Only Jesus is Lord and God…all others are false prophets and gods.

  • kafir4life

islamophobia is a farce. It doesn't exist. Invented by muslims. The truth is that islam is a gutter cult. Nothing more, nothing less.
We won't hire a muslim (either they're not qualified, or they object to the daily office cooking of the bacon that coincidentally coincides with the times of the daily muslim "prayers". They don't need to participate personally in the bacon cooking). We don't shop in their stores (If we go into a store, and spot a muslim in charge, we just say "muslim in charge", and leave). We don't shop in stores that hire muslims (we do let the owners or managers know why, and explain it as a safety issue, which it is). My favorite places to shop are the ones where muslims have organized boycotts like Lowes, and I avoid business like best buy that support their terror supporting activities.
I have a t-shirt that says G_d Bless Israel…..in arabic (بارك الله في اسرائيل). I wear mine near the islamic musks to see who can read arabic. It's fun watching them point, stare, and scowl. Nobody's approached me (yet) about it. Looking forward to it tho'!!

    • Rocky Mountain

Note: I am not supporting the Sharia totalitarians but there are people who cannot discriminate between a bomb throwing terrorist and an ordinary guy going about his business. What this yields, sometimes, is public discomfort, if not out-and-out confrontation. Of course, we need to be vigilant but "vigilance" shouldn't cross over to "vigilantism" or socially sanctioned harrassment.

      • kafir4life

It's just a t-shirt, not harrassment. Also, while I understand and agree that not all muslims are bomb throwing splodeydopes, I can't tell the difference, and terror supporting organizations such as cair and the obama administration don't want us to be able to tell the difference. Would you walk into a room with 100 barking dogs when you know that one of them is rabid, but you're not told nor can't tell which is which? It's like that with islam. I was once riding my bike near the local musk (not wearing the shirt), when a muslim who felt that the infidel should cross the street to make room for the muslim (as in the terror guide, the koran). He didn't look real happy when he picked himself off the ground after he was given a lesson in right of way.
We like bacon in our office too.

      • curmudgeon

cannot discriminate between a bomb throwing terrorist and an ordinary guy (muslim asswhipe) going about his business (subjugating the infidel). you are wrong. i can tell the difference. the bomb thrower is our friend, because even asswhipes like you can discern that he is a threat, and it is ok for even politically correct losers like you to oppose the bomb thrower. the dangerous one is the quiet one, who just breeds his multiple wives supported by welfare regularly, ensuring a huge supply of hate filled muslim enemies in the future, fully supported by our treasonous government, protected by our treasonous media, and coddled by morons like you.

        • Rotait

Top Post – although perhaps a little rude . Rocky Mountain still has his brain in the wash but that's not his fault. The whole of the MSM is constantly trying to scrub all of our brains with its PC proaganda. What he fails to understand is that , to a muslim , ' going about his business ' means doing the will of allah.
I urge everyone to go to the source – read the Koran

      • Drakken

I am afraid that it is going to come to exactly that at some point. Cair keeps pushing and that pushback they fear will eventually come to pass and I don't think once the American public is going to be in a forgiving mood once it happens.

I would like to replace the term itself. Since it is from CAIR and a made up syndrome, I offer my own term in its stead.
Islamophobia is supposed to mean Fear of Islam. I do not fear Islam because Islam is a lie.
I would rather be known as an "Islamoloather" because Instead of fearing Islam I LOATHE Islam.

    • kafir4life

Dennis Miller covered that. He said he went from islamoignorant before 9/11, to islamocurious, and progressed from there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbAwxif5lak

    • V_O

How about if the conservative media uses the term Shariaphobia? That's right on the mark for me. Perhaps that might lead a few lost sheep on the left to connect the dots between Islam and Sharia? I wonder how many average liberal people understand the danger of Sharia – or what it even is.

  • Glennd1

While I have little time or respect for The Nation, and think the entire idea of Islamophobia is absurd, I can't help but notice that just the other day there was an ad on this site for Bosch Fawstin – a hateful cartoon series that takes the fight to Muslims. Such garbage should be shunned by civilized people, but it is not. Tolerating this kind of bigotry makes sites like FrontPage subject to legitimate criticism. While I don't say Bosch should be banned or boycotted, I definitely think it should be looked upon as distasteful and bigoted. Just saying… And now you guys can call me a Jihad sympathizer or whatever else – don't waste your time, I'm not, I just like to be consistent.

    • reader

What's your point? You can disagree and/or boycott any source you want to.

      • Glennd1

Are you really that stupid? Do you think a First Amendment argument was the logical response to my point? Or do you not understand that when folks on the right play too loose and fast with those who are actually bigoted against Muslims that they damage their own credibility? It’s not a hard thing to understand and I didn’t even suggest a boycott or anything, I just made clear that advertising such hateful dreck on this site diminishes its credibility when trying to defend it from charges of bigotry. Got it yet? Or are you too busy trying to come up with a slick reply to actually digest what I said?

        • pagegl

Bosch Fawstin speaks from the perspective of having been a Muslim.

        • reader

Are you really that stupid equating Islam (not individual muslims by your idiotic conjecture) to Judaism or Christianity? Well, I bet you are a dumb relativist. You like my tone, uh?

          • Glennd1

I'm not equating anything – are you even in the same conversation as us?

          • reader

You're definitely not in the reality. That's what our horrid educational system and statist media makes of the gullible.

    • curmudgeon

such garbage should be embraced by civilized people. in the west the media should be overrun with truth telling about the evil of islam. and our media should regularly be making fun of the death cult of islam. there is a reason muslim criminals are so upset about any "insult" of islam, or the prophet (peace be upon him). the reason is that they dont want people to know what an evil religion they have. tell them. please. everyone. tell them what an evil criminal cabal islam is. such garbage, my red donkey. you talk like a dhimmi, glennd1. do you know what i dhimmi is? look it up, loser.

      • Glennd1

I know what a Dhimmi is and I ain't one. Just to demonstrate: I piss on the Koran, Mohammed was a pedophile and a murderer and probably wasn't even a real person and Islam is a ridiculous mythology that is currently the cause of more death and destruction in the world than any other religion. Some Dhimmi, ehh? But can't you get my poiint? That when the "right" just winks at things like Bosch Fawstin's comics, advertising them on this site, it loses some moral authority. Is that too hard for you you to grasp?

        • reader

You piss on the Koran and you're complaining about an advertising? How long ago have you been seen by a doctor?

        • Rotait

I think you raise an issue ( indeed a number of issues ) which needs to be properly addressed because these points are often raised by dhimmies who think that they' ll have a quiet life. Firstly do not piss on the Koran ; keep it for reference or pass it on to someone else . Secondly why is anybody who opposes Islamification ' on the right ' ? This is the knee jerk language of a 'The Nation ' subscriber. Finally and most importantly you seem to be implying that free citizens should limit what they say ( or draw – I have not actually seen any of the cartoons myself ) because , by not doing so , they are somehow undermining their ' moral authority '. This is fundementally wrong. The crux of the war between Islam and civilised society is whether or not one should be free to say or do something even though it might offend the opinions of others. In Europe those publishing cartoons Muslims do not like are murdered. There is no ' Fourth ' there . I know where I think the ' moral authority ' lies

          • Glennd1

The worst part about you? You don't even realize how irrational and incapable of engaging in argument you are, yet you deign to lecture me. You are an ignorant, insipid fool – go away.

    • Drakken

So what are you going to do when push comes to shove? Give them a group hug and sing a little kumbaya to them? Sooner or later your going to have to pick a side because the upcomming events are going to be brutal and everyone is going to be affected.

      • Glennd1

If you are on "my side", I've already lost. Mankind needs to step forward into a more rational, less magical-thinking based world. Now, there is no doubt the Islamists are an annoyance, but they really pose no threat to us. Their strongest actual military can be swept away by us at a moment's notice, in a matter of days. This is not 1938 – the Arabs ain't the Germans. They are third world countries with oil, and pre-modern cultures. Let them kill each other – why should I care? Same for the Jews, I have no dog in the Zionists territorial ambitions – just keep it away from here.

        • Drakken

Because my friend they are here and their numbrs are growing, since I live both in the US and Europe the muslims are becoming a plague. Trying to claim that high moral ground without getting your hands dirty is complete nonsense. The problem we as a nation face is we are trying to fight wars with both hands tied behind our backs when the enemy plays by no rules. Fighting with PC rules of engaugement is suicide. When war comes to the nation and it will, nobody is going to care how peaceful an individual muslim says they are, nobody is going to take the chance.

Mr. Spencer's article conforms to the FPM book of style as its first paragraph contains one lie and two scare quotes. What is far more interesting though is his last line where he attacks secularism. If you attack secularism, then that makes you a religious fundamentalist. QED. Mr. Spencer's premise is that secularism simply enables radical Islam.

Secularism is the "separation between government institutions and the persons mandated to represent the State from religious institutions and religious dignitaries."

Mr. Spencer, in his last article line said that he opposes secularism. Mr. Spencer is therefore against the separation of church and state. That only leaves the options of FASCIST and RELIGIOUS FUNDAMENTALIST.

Which is it Mr. Spencer? Do you support fascism or Judeo-Christian Sharia?

You are sadly mistaken. Yes, there is and should be the separation of church and state. The first amendment insures that the government shall not impose secularism on the people of the USA. There is no state church in the USA and there should not be a kind of state secularism imposed on the people. The Soviet Union tried to impose secularism on its people with a very damaging impact on the culture. Not to mention the murder of innocence theists. Read Peter Hitchens (brother of Christopher) book “The Rage against God: How Atheism Led Me to Faith”. Peter was a former Trotskyite who lived in Russia as a correspondent so he knows what he is talking about.

"Islamophobia: The Anatomy of an American Panic"?

What panic is The Nation talking about? How is that these people have their paranoid fantasies and get a pass every time? Can it really be true that people other than themselves take their pipe dreams seriously?

What a load of guff. Maybe on the coasts there's panic, but I don't see anyone anywhere else near even being nervous, much less panicked, over Islam or Islamist terrorism. The people I see are going about their lives. They don't like the economy much, but they don't even seem all that nervous (much less panicky) about even that.

I just read the online version of "The Nation" article, including an article by a guy named Jack Shaheen. It's called "How the Media Created the Muslim Monster Myth." I had to look elsewhere to read it. He goes over media portrayals of Muslims and he is angry over how they are portrayed. What he seems to forget is that for years Muslims have been silent while these atrocities have been committed. That's the reason for those portrayals, not Islamophobia. And from what's been going on the Middle East lately,we have every right to be afraid.

It's necessary to read the nation only once to conclude that it is senseless to waste any additional time with it. However, the nation has finally hit bottom and has become the mother of all dhimmis. islamophobia has been concocted by cair and other sharia advocacy groups that have no respect for the United States Constitution or democracy. But such vicious and anti-semitic groups would not get far if they did not have the support of delusional and totalitarian leftists. The rather diabilolical alliance between islam and the left is very similar to the nazi-soviet pact of 1939. Compromise is always available between evil entities that hate democracy even more than they hate one another.
