As UN Head Travels to Iran, Abbas Pledges No Jews In Jerusalem

One simply has to watch the words of the leaders in the Middle East to understand why there won’t be peace anytime soon.

“Jerusalem is a Muslim and Christian city, and there will be neither peace nor security until the Israeli occupation, settlements, and settlers leave the city,” Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said on Tuesday. “Jerusalem’s identity is Arab, and the city’s and Christian holy sites must be protected from Israeli threats.” He added that Israeli excavation work in Jerusalem and in the Western Wall tunnels beneath the mosque “will not undermine the fact that the city will forever be Arabic, Islamic and Christian.” Abbas concluded that “there will be no peace or stability before our beloved city and eternal capital is liberated from occupation and settlement.”

For all of the talk about peace and co-existence, why does it come only from the Jewish side? Those who speak of Arabs leaving any city are extremists condemned – yet Abbas orders Jews to leave Jerusalem … and no outrage? Since there’s been “peace” with Jordan, how many Jews or Israelis are able to live there? Just sickening as some clamor to make “peace.”  The Zionist visionary Ze’ev Jabotinsky wrote, in an essay called “Peace”: “A noisy whining is now being set up by achorus of ‘peace seekers’ who aim to achieve (by preaching exclusively to Jews) conciliation with the Arabs. It is difficult to free oneself from a feeling of disgust.”

How can peace be made with people who say Jews cannot live anywhere they choose in Jerusalem? As the Jewish hero Irving Moskowitz, who has bought many properties all over Jerusalem, has asked, “If Jews can live in Miami Beach, Moscow, Paris or Melbourne, then why not all areas of Jerusalem?” Is this not “racism” what Abbas speaks of? Yet the world will remain silent. Perhaps the head of the UN is too busy en route to Iran.

A lynch mob of young teen Israelis attacked Arabs in Jerusalem – and the mob was immediately prosecuted by the Israeli authorities.  Netanyahu personally made sure to give a call to Abbas and apologize and condemn the lynch mob. The Israeli press was filled with disgust, media coverage and public sentiment was negative, and streets won’t be named after those who harmed the Arabs. Even the right-wing Jerusalem Post denounced the attack as a “racist mob attack.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu said: “This goes against our way, and we condemn it in word and deed.” “This is not our way,” continued Netanyahu. “We will quickly bring to justice those responsible for this reprehensible incident. We say as clearly as possible: The State of Israel is a democratic and enlightened state in which when we come across acts such as these, the entire state and all of its leaders come out together against such phenomena, and we will continue to do so.”

Yet when Palestinians kill Jews, specifically as suicide bombers, they get glorified on TV, children get to learn about them in children’s books and they name squares and public places after terrorists who went after innocent Jewish women and children only because they are Jewish. That is the difference between a civilized nation and culture contrasted with a culture based on barbarism and death; a culture that celebrates the death of its enemies more than it cherishes the life of its citizens.

There is no equivalency. As Golda Meir said many years ago, “Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us.”

Maybe the Jews can leave those places the author cites and go and live in Israel. Jews have too much control in the West, Jews are a race and many of them give their first loyalty to their own kind whilst enjoying enormous power over non Jews in their "second homes" in the White countries. Do Jews have the best interests of White Europeans uppermost in their minds when they wield power in the West? l doubt it. No one is that selfless, even Jews.
l support Israels existence but increasingly l am faced with awkward questions about the conduct of Jews in the White countries. Many Jews have told me they are indifferent to the fate of White Europeans – this doesnt fill me with any confidence.

And where exactly are you getting your idiotic information? Did you graduate from idiot college?

    • Lee Poteet

flib, you lie and it is as simple as that. The good and wonderful things which Jews have done for all mankind, even white Europeans, can not be denied, but Islam is not even good for Muslims. In fact it was Mohammed's own wife who stated it first.

Anyone who questions the conduct of Israelis and does not condemn the continual horrific offenses of Muslims in the Middle East and elsewhere is either an idiot or dishonest. Choose!

    • Moishe Rubinsky

how is is, the we Jews of only 14 million in the entire world are blamed for 98% of the other nations problems? Does not anyone read the Torah, or Bible. Just curious.

flib, Still upset that your side lost WW2?

"the white countries"???? You write that and expect to be treated politely? Go back to your bunker – and remember to take your revolver with you.

Do Jews have the best interests of White Europeans uppermost in their minds when they wield power in the West? NO.

The fate of white Europeans in the midst of the latest financial "crisis" never crosses my mind.

Your time is done Eurabia. You are toast. Enjoy your travels in the Sea of Islam and monetary collapse.

Leave the Jews alone! It's their land/city if you don't like what they are doing just stay away. God gave them the land. FOREVER IS FOREVER!!

muslims militarily invaded Israel during the seventh century CE. No one wanted them there. islam has no redeeming features. All its adherents know how to do is invade, slaughter, and enslave. islam is an imperialistic and brutal ideology that has no respect for or appreciation of western civilization and individual freedom. Its "holy" book is replete with recommendations to commit violence on non-believers and to apply genocide against Jews. muslims are the lowest form of human life and should not be allowed to reside among decent people. Any society that allows muslim communities to dwell and grow eventually wishes it hadn't. No people has ever converted to islam peacefully and none ever will.

Once they solve “the Jewish question,” count on them extirpating the Christians as well. Then other Muslims who don’t believe exactly right. I will link to this from my Old Jarhead blog.

They're not waiting. Christians have been slaughtered by muslimes in Indonesia (think E. Timor, tens of thousands slaughtered), Armenia/Turkey (some 2.5 million Assyrian and Armenian Christians), Sudan/Darfur (a million of more) and are slaughtering Christians in Iraq, Nigeria, Egypt now.

There was always a Jewish population in the region, most of them resided in the religious communities in Jerusalem, Tz'fat, Tiberius, and Hebron.

Israel became a nation in 1312 BCE, two thousand years before the rise of Islam.

Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.

Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 BCE, the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 ACE lasted no more than 22 years.

For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.

King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

In 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.

The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution, and slaughter.

    • Stern

"The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 ACE lasted no more than 22 years. "
      Actually, it was 19 years: 1948 – 1967.

It is nice to see someone support their views with some facts, good post Moishe. It seems most people feel that they can throw out whatever sounds good to them and truth and accuracy be damned. Why should Israel give up the land they liberated in 1967 from the Arabs to the Palestinians, was the land not taken from Egypt, Jordan and Syria, the countries that attacked Israel? If anything, should the land not be return to those countries if to anyone?

    • Eric

Agree with almost everything you say, Moishe, except the bit about King David founding Jerusalem. Jerusalem was a pagan city in the days of Joshua (well before David was born, see Joshua chapter 10) and was captured by the men of Judah (Judges chapter 1) and again by David (2 Samuel 5) and made the capital of Israel.

  • Moishe Rubinsky

The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.

Arab refugees were intentionally not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own people's lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey.

The Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.

The PLO's Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians (gazans) most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.

The muslim brotherhood calls for Jerusalem as their capital.

Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

The UN Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

The UN was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

The UN was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives.

The UN was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like a policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

Judea was an autonomous state in the Persian Empire following the return from Babylonian exile thanks to Cyrus, King of Persia. Following the death of Alexander the Great who had captured the Persian Empire, it became part of two Hellenistic.

Following the Maccabean revolt, Judea became an independent state. Following the death of King Herod, the Romans seized it and it then became a Roman province. Judea was briefly independent during the first revolt against the Romans until it was finally destroyed when the Romans put down the revolt and destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in the year 70.

Judah lost its independence to Rome in the year 70 and became again a colony. In the year 135, the Romans gave the country the name "Palaestina". The name Palaestina, which became Palestine in English, is derived from Herodotus, who used the term Palaistine Syria to refer to the entire southern part of Syria, meaning "Philistine Syria."

This was to add insult to injury against the Jewish people. The intent was to remove any memory of a Jewish presence. The name was kept by the next possessors, the Byzantine Empire, and then by the conquering Arabs and their successors, the conquering Turks. Note that we have a succession of different nationalities, none of whom thought of themselves as Palestinians. They were the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, or Turks.

About 61 B.C., Roman troops under Pompei invaded Judea and sacked Jerusalem in support of King Herod. Judea had become a client state of Rome. During the seventh century (A.D. 600's), Muslim Arab armies moved north from Arabia to conquer most of the Middle East, including Palestine. The Seljuk Turks conquered Jerusalem in 1071, but their rule in Palestine lasted less than 30 years.

During the 7th century, Muslims invaded and the Crusaders from Europe ruled for a time until they were driven out. The Crusaders left Palestine for good when the Muslims captured Acre in 1291. During the post-crusade period, crusaders often raided the coast of Palestine. To deny the Crusaders gains from these raids, the Muslims pulled their people back from the coasts and destroyed coastal towns and farms. This depopulated and impoverished the coast of Palestine for hundreds of years.

In the mid-1200's, Mamelukes, originally soldier-slaves of the Arabs based in Egypt, established an empire that in time included the area of Palestine that lasted until the Ottoman Empire defeated the Mamelukes in 1517, and Palestine became part of the Ottoman Empire. The Turkish Sultan invited Jews fleeing the Spanish Catholic inquisition to settle in the Turkish empire, including several cities in Palestine. The Ottoman Empire ruled until the BRITISH took control of the area in 1917.

In 1922, the British declared that the boundary of Palestine would be limited to the area west of the river. The area east of the river, called Transjordan, which is now the country of Jordan, was made a separate British mandate and eventually given independence. The British maintained control until 1948.

From this time through the War of Independence in 1947-49, there were local Arab leaders who called for an independent Palestine (Arab state) in the entire country with not a single inch for a Jewish state. During the 1948 Israeli War of Independence, the local Arab armies and leaders identified with Syria, Jordan, and Egypt and thought of themselves as such.

The Arab states are content to let their brother Arabs remain in those refugee camps that are really crowded and squalid towns and live like that since the UN supported them. Because of this, they make a great political tool used to invoke sympathy, especially in regard to the European countries. That is crass, unfeeling politics, but these same people do not hesitate to strap bombs to their young men and women.

Another reason why the so called palestinian Arabs fled is that they refused to live in a Jewish dominated state. Ironically, had they accepted the partition and those in Israel not fled, Israel would have had a huge and growing Arab population and indefensible borders.

Funny, they also say the same thing about killing Americans, but few others want to mention it.

Mr. Abbas attitude about Jerusalem is exactly why the latter part of the book of Zechariah will be fulfilled in the near future. As a Christian, I say, and many with me, that Jerusalem including the old city should be under the control of the state of Israel. Israel has the highest claim of anyone over the city, temple mount, etc. They are also the best administrators of the holy sites as they have allowed the most freedom in this regard. Christians should resist any linking with the Arab/Islamic view of Jerusalem

  • Kufar Dawg

While Abbas' consideration for Christians certainly sounds sincere I find it strange he has nothing to say about the systematic persecution and murder of Christians being carried out by the rest of his muslime brethren (incl. in Syria) right now in the 21st century, in every muslime state.

I find the history of the Jewish People, The Old Testament of the Bible and Jerusalem, absolutely fascinating….and why the AMERICAN PEOPLE are FOOLED by Islam and ALL Muslims, is beyond my comprehension…..They are evil people, driven by a false GOD, meaning to destroy our American Republic. These Muslims who live in America, could care less about us or our government…and they will NEVER assimilate and become good citizens because Islam forbids it!!!

Thanks to Mr. Rubinsky for the short and interesting history lesson on Jerusalem and the Jewish People. Long live Israel!!

Abbas’ words claiming Jerusalem is a Muslim and Christian city is an extraordinarily weak attempt to drive a wedge between Christians and Jews on the issue of Jerusalem. It is doomed to failure by Abbas’ hypocrisy: how many Christians are left in Bethlehem? All have been driven out – by the Muslim’s antagonism – except the monks who are holed up in the Church of the Nativity. “Muslim and Christian”? In the Muslim mind, no such coexistence is possible.

The entire process is for the benefit of diplomats, politicians and news writers.
The Jew-hating Palestinians reject any and all offers of peace because the only "peace" they seek is the quiet "peace" associated with the aftermath of mass murder.
So readers and observers are expected not to notice the Palestinians are Jew haters with genocidal aspirations because that would interfere with the party of the diplomats and posing of the politicians and we all know that that is simply unacceptable so false prophets who write "news" for a living keep the lie alive that the Palestinians really are a "peace" partner.
Only now after years of reading the nature and depth of the fraud American and European journalists have perpetrated on generations of readers do I understand the Old Testament order to stone false prophets.
It might seem harsh by modern standards but I totally grasp the motivation each and every time NY Slimes and Wash Compost writers mislead readers with their attitude of hate combined with their brain dead brainwashed willingness to cram the idiocy of bureaucrats and government down our throats upon pain of falsely labeling you as a hater if you dare disagree with their precious orthodoxy.
While I wouldn't want to see them suffer stoning I can understand the motivation behind the edict.
False prophets/American journalists deserve to be stoned.
