Where’s the Flotilla to Syria?

Pages: 1 2

An interesting article was written by Farid al-Ghadry, the Syrian-born co-founder and president of the United States-based Reform Party of Syria, a party lobbying for regime change in Syria. The article can be found at: http://ghadry.com/2011/04/24/where-is-your-syrian-humanitarian-flotilla-erdogan and asks: “Where is your Syrian Humanitarian Flotilla Erdogan?” – In a blog dated April 24, 2011, Ghadry says:

It is unconscionable to think that people are dropping like flies on Syrian streets, the injured are hiding in private homes to avoid capture or cold-blooded murder, the funeral processions are being shot at with many killed at a time they bereave the dead, the detained are tortured and many die and are buried in mass graves, yet the international community seems only willing to extend words of comfort.

Where is your conscience people? It’s Easter Sunday for heaven’s sake. Then comes Erdogan who thinks Gaza is tragic with its people under siege and tyranny while Syrians, under his buddy Assad, enjoy comfort and freedom. Where is your humanitarian flotilla to Syria Erdogan?  Our injured, attacked by the snipers of your dear friend Assad, cannot go to hospitals for fear of being either killed on the spot or arrested to die under torture. Or does that not fit with your understanding of what a human tragedy is? Are Gazans better people than Syrians? Is Assad too dear a friend for you to bother?

And where are the Hamas Palestinians who seem to forget everyone else’s tragedy except their own? Where are their voices? Never expect Syrians to come to your aid again. When elections come, we will make the MB in Syriapay for your silence. And where is King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia? What kind of leader is governing over Makah and Medina who is afraid of his own shadow?

Where are the young tiger Princes of al-Saud to overthrow everyone over 80 who clings to power like a sick patient clings to oxygen? Have you become too comfortable for your own good? Wake-up Bandar bin Sultan. This is your time. Where are all the Arab leaders and the Arab League? The cowards hosting dinners to celebrate their fat bank accounts while our people die in front of their eyes?

This Revolution is for all ages and against any Arab and non-Arab oppressor in the region. This Revolution is against Assad, the Mullahs of Iran, and the hapless King of Saudi Arabia.

This Revolution is against the bigotry of Hizbullah giving aid to kill Syrians and the barbaric IRGC training Assad on how to maximize death.

One wonders if they can kill their own people like this – what would they do to Jews? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if Peter Beinart, Jeremy Ben-Ami and these folks took a flotilla to Syria?

    There's a different kind of double-standard at play here…

I broke bread with my liberal brothers over the weekend and to my surprise, both are apparently advocates of intervention in Syria. The surprise stems from the fact that both were previously strident opponents of the regime-change in Iraq. What is so different – I mused to myself – between Bush trying to remove Saddam's boot from the neck of the Iraqi people and Obama trying to remove Assad's boot from the neck of the Syrian people? Apparently, it is the fact that the former policy emanated from a hated entity – Bush – while the latter policy emanates from a beloved one, Obama.

I asked them: "Do we really want to facilitate the Muslim Brotherhood conquest of Syria?"

    "They're killing children"…was the response.

Well, if THAT's the rational, why aren't my bros advocating invasion of North Korea, Sudan, Zimbabwe and elsewhere? Surely, children are being killed in THESE hellholes!

We need to stay the hell out of Syria and let the chips there fall where they may. A prolonged Civil war may just keep the Arab/Muslim world preoccupied.

  • Amused

Burn a koran , or fling one across the room and you get the murderous barbarians to riot burn down buildings and kill people , SLAUGHTER 13000 or so , men women and children , and muslims sit there one hand scratching their heads , the other scratching their asssses .

  • Amused

…and YES , stay the hell out of Syria …economic isloation will take its course . But someone needs to buy a roll of duct tape for Sen. McCain .

Mr. Torossian should stick to hyping up his small PR company. As a political analyst, his credentials are nil. The insurgency in Syria is being fomented by the United States, Israel, Saudi Arabia and Al Qaeda together. That is quite different from the nationalistic ambitions of the Palestinians, and people know the difference.

    • stern

Quite right. The Syrians are killing each other. The Palestinians are killing Jews.

    • Zionista

get lost you psychotic and very boring loser

Buah ha hah hah hah hah!

I didn't have to read the article, the title said it all.
Just where are all the bleeding hearts crying over the poor oppressed Syrians.
Israel closes a checkpoint & their front & center, Syria murders 1000's of its own people & they cower in obscurity, knowing that if they dare enter enter the country & challenge the regime they would get a bullet between the eyes.
The hypocracy of the leftist mindset in so bent, I'm surprised they don't just walk in circles.
C'mon you gutless bastards, jump on your boats to Syria, it will be easy if you dream there Jew's.

    • Morton

why are you so concerned about the leftists? Why are you not concerned about the Syrians getting killed every day? Why not spend you energy to organize a flotilla?

  • MFS001

    Hi , The article "http://ghadry.com/2011/04/24/where-is-your-syrian-humanitarian-flotilla-erdogan"

is completely scrubbed from the web even the google cashe is 'unavailable'.

  • Zionista

Wait! They'll get around to it as soon as they have their anti-war demos just like they did when President Bush was in office.

  • Ron Karsh, Tel Aviv

if Ronn is so concerned about the Syrians, he should simply start his own flotilla. But he isn't concerned that people are getting slaughtered in Syria. Not even a little bit. The article reflects a primitive, low and small-village mind.

  • Flowerknife_us

I cannot recall when in all the previous years of my live if ever a good word has been said about Syria. Syria is just going through a normal phase of killing each other in between their efforts to kill Jews. With any luck they may be preventing their ability to kill Jews for years to come.

Ronn Torossian is probably Armenian, like myself, so I am shocked that he would implicitly call for the Muslim Brotherhood dominated so-called Syrian opposition to come to power. Armenians in Syria are deathly afraid that Assad will fall, that the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis will come to power and institute their 'reign of terror'. Sure, Assad is not a nice guy, but he has been good for the Armenians and other Christians in Syria and others. Since Torossian is with a PR firm he probably knows that many of the reports in the US media about Syrian government killings were actually done by the Syrian (terrorist) opposition. The MB and Salafis know how to manipulate the Western media, like they did in the Balkans (remember Ruder-Finn, laughing in an interview how they used PR in the US to convince Jews in the US of Serb genocide while the Ruder-Finn clients were mass murdering Jews, Serbs, Roma, and others). While the MB and Salafis bomb and kill Christians in Syria Torossian supports the enemies of the Armenians in Syria.
