The Knockout Game and Leftist Language Control

2013.11.21-mrconservative-528e397e83bb3Whenever liberals are in a tight spot, they adopt the scorched-earth policy of argumentation. With no answer, they start demanding that you define words: What do you mean “liberal”? What do you mean “democracy”? What do you mean “patriotism”? They retreat from argument, burning the English language as they go. Accustomed to playing the role of Soviet commissar censoring the news when it comes to black violence, the Non-Fox Media are in a panic now that the alternative media can post videos of young black males punching out random strangers. As a result, liberals are denying the “Knockout Game” exists by refusing to understand the meaning of basic words, such as “game” and “trend.” Knockout Game-debunkers place great significance, for example, on the fact that the assailants have not signed affidavits calling it a “game.” Thus, The New York Times noted that in one recent case of a random stranger being knocked out by young black males, “the attacker insisted the assault was not part of any organized ‘game.’” A 78-year-old woman is punched by a young black male for no reason, and the Times’ central point is: “Perp says it’s not a ‘game.’” Similarly, in Philadelphia magazine, Stephen Silver said of two recent knockout attacks in Philadelphia that he wasn’t counting either one as “confirmed cases of the Knockout Game” on the grounds that the puncher said he “was not participating in the Game.” Until the assailants admit they’re playing a game, liberals say the Knockout Game is a “hoax.” Obviously, it doesn’t matter what the participants call it. I don’t know anyone who calls himself a “pundit,” but that doesn’t mean people don’t go on TV and give their opinions. Every liberal denies he’s a liberal, but that doesn’t mean “liberals” don’t exist. (Would that it were so!) While we’re on the subject, I can’t think of a single instance in which someone has admitted to committing a “hate crime,” but liberals are always calling things “hate crimes.” The Huffington Post concluded that the Knockout Game was “fabricated” based on one of the most famous victims, James Addlespurger, denying that it was a game. Instead, he calls his knockout an “assault,” saying “game” is just a “label.” Hey, you know what else is just a label? The word “assault.” “James Addlespurger” is a label. Another expression for “label” is “word” — meaning, “something liberals try to blow up whenever they’re about to be trapped into admitting the truth.” As Sgt. Tom Connellan of Syracuse, N.Y., patiently explained to the Times, it’s called a “game” because there is no other motive for these attacks. They’re not done for vengeance, robbery, gang initiations or payback. Strangers are being punched out strictly for amusement. Also, there are rules. You get only one punch to knock someone out. (Incidentally, the reason the Times was quoting a policeman from Syracuse — in an article questioning the reality of the “Knockout Game” — is that two recent knockout attacks in that city were fatal.) We don’t need anyone to admit that it’s a “game” for it to be so. Doing something for no reason other than having fun is a “game.” What do you mean “fun”? One man’s fun is another man’s torture! This is how parents waste half a million dollars on their kids’ educations. Instead of learning how to make a point, their kids are learning how to end communication by denying the meaning of words. Liberals also seem unfamiliar with the word “trend,” mocking the idea that the Knockout Game constitutes one. I guess it depends on what the meaning of “trend” is. (“Trend,” “game” and “is” — three words liberals can’t understand when they’re lying.) For this, we again turn to the Old Gray Lady, Trend Spotter. Over the years, the Times has identified “trends” in “eating oysters,” “honesty” in home furnishings and pocket-watch tattoos. In none of these cases was the identification of a trend subjected to the exacting analysis the Times employed to deny that the Knockout Game was a “trend.” (Say, was the wanton violence by Democratic Party offshoot the Ku Klux Klan a “trend” or more of a “fad”?) The Times even helped push the bogus idea in the 1990s that black church burnings were a “trend” — which turned out to be a complete lie. This led to one of Bill Clinton’s more colorful lies, about his “vivid and painful” memories of black church burnings in Arkansas in his youth. (After a massive investigation involving the state historian, the Arkansas NAACP, the Regular Arkansas Baptist Convention and the Arkansas Black History Advisory Committee, it turned out no black churches had been burned in Arkansas.) But the Times questions the idea that the knockout assaults are a “trend” — in an article citing three recent knockout attacks in New York City, as well as “sporadic reports” of knockout attacks in one single neighborhood in Brooklyn. Nonetheless, the Times triumphantly noted that there have been no knockout attacks in Jersey City — and only one in Hoboken! Back in 2012, three prominent people talked about Hula-Hooping, and the Times branded it a “trend.” It did so without first checking to see if anyone was Hula-Hooping in Jersey City or Hoboken. Here are a few words I’m sure liberals do understand: Your days of controlling the news are over. Freedom Center pamphlets now available on Kindle: Click here.

  • Dave Van Lant

This is the woman who said that TV’s “Breaking Bad” had a lot in common with Jesus’ parables. Can there be any credibility here? What gives with the editors?

    • Right of Left

What gives with you? Are blacks knocking out white people or not and that is the only question. In fact, you’ve done exactly the thing Ann accuses liberals of doing.

      • Skeptic7

And posting the videos they make, and bragging about it. Sharkira says that “it’s fun.” Typically criminals have other motives. Why aren’t these kids working…oh, that’s right, Obama’s economy and he’s importing more low income workers.

        • nomoretraitors

Why should they work when they can go on the dole?

        • Right of Left

If its only a job that would keep them from playing the game then we really still have a big problem.

      • dad22

So what about the white kids doing it?

        • Drakken

There aren’t any white kids doing it. It’s a black thing.

          • dad22

            You should get out more.

        • Right of Left

If white kids are doing it – and I believe its more than possible as I can recite some things from personal experience – then they should be treated in exactly the same way that blacks should be treated. I think one of the issues here is that young blacks are specifically targeting white people and with what appears to be a high rate. However, I would also support vigorous prosecutorial efforts aimed at blacks who only played the ”game” on other blacks.

          • dad22

How nice of you to treat the blacks the same as you would treat a white person. Could you get me some of the info you used to come up with your high rate of blacks targeting whites. Then take your short list of highly publicized events and compare that to the FBI stats to see who is in fact, targeting whom.

          • Right of Left

Inevitably, these exchanges get to be juvenile and silly but for the sake of trying to straighten this out I’ll let go of my doubts about whether we can communicate and make this attempt – I started out by replying to Dave Van Lant by trying to remove the various red herrings that, I believe, he was throwing out. You asked about what should be done about white kids doing it and I said (go back and look) that they should be vigorously prosecuted. The article is about black (alleged) kids targeting white people and it is a problem as is so-called ‘black-on-black’ crime. At the end of the day all crime is a problem and I am most certainly not soft on crime. As far as a ‘high rate’ goes, I clearly stated that it appears to be a high rate. And, as far as FBI stats go, and I have looked at many crime statistical reports, if the ones you want to use are hate-crimes and you equate these with ‘targeting’ sobeit and I take your point.

      • dad22

A federal judge denied bond on Friday to a white Texas man charged with punching an elderly black man in a suspected race-based attack that the accused recorded as a video with his cell phone, court records show.

      • dad22

Investigators said Barrett recorded himself making racially charged statements on his phone, including one where he is alleged to have said: “The plan is to see if I were to hit a black person, would this be nationally televised?”

  • laura r

ann coulter called it like it is. lets get stuck on words. as i said: “call it an assault, a dangerous assault & GET ON W/IT! ok its not a “game”, now can we discuss it”? those would be my words for the media.

  • HJK

“Game-debunkers place great significance, for example, on the fact that the assailants have not signed affidavits calling it a “game.””

Are they stupid enough to believe that criminals are trustworthy?

    • Sheik Yerbouti

      Only the non-white ones.

  • objectivefactsmatter

They try to chip away at the facts until each event can again be characterized as black resistance to white oppression, when looking at the big picture. It’s not a game, it’s an assault. It’s an assault caused by poverty and so forth.

That’s how collectivism works. They must mold the facts to fit the paradigm or else it would be exposed is ridiculously unjust. “Social justice” is unjust? Huh…

    • Robert Lande

You mean like Obama molding the facts to fit his view of the world?

    • Drakken

Sooner or later whitey ain’t going to play no more. That is when the fun begins and the press sputters to explain it away. I think they are going to call the new game, open season and no bag limit.

      • dad22

What if whitey is a liberal?

        • Drakken

          A write off.

  • joetentpeg

    “…burning the English language…”?

Let’s call the “Knockout Game” what it really is:

    “Clock a crazy a$$ cracka”

    • Drakken

Wait until crazy a%% cracka plays the open season game, and no bag limit.

  • Hass

I wish a new trend for these cowardly baboons who commit these hideous sucker punches would get a bullet between the eyes by the very people they attack.

    • DontMessWithAmerica

You keep getting in there with my words before I get to utter them. Shoot a few of these heroic pugilists and they’ll start looking for a new game. And, of course, they all look like the kid Obama might have had.

      • Hass

        :)

    • Fritz

One victim did actually, in St Louis I believe. Not between the eyes but he did shoot his attacker in the leg.

  • A Z

The cause of these assaults is financial, cultural, genetic or idiosyncratic.

If it were idiosyncratic, there would be no pattern.

It has been pointed out many groups have been in as much or more poverty and there was much less violence

So where does the Left want to go from here?

    • Drakken

Burn baby burn! That is what Obummer and company wants.

  • RAS

Ann scores again. The left makes a living screwing around with words.

Many years ago I, along with a large number of senior scientists, engineers, and project managers, was required to attend a sensitivity course dealing with semantics and stereotypes. The course was presented by a professor from one of the local colleges. The main theme seemed to be to dissuade us from using words like conservative, liberal, communist, atheist and combinations of such since words and labels could lead to discrimination, which of course was bad.

We also took a test that dealt with our values and attitudes on a variety of subjects. We graded ourselves and subsequently found that it was called the San Francisco F (Fascist) Test. Apparently most of the attendees, which
consisted of some very brilliant technical professionals, did not score well on
the test. One physicist asked the moderator how the CPUSA performed. He was told that they generally did very well. I suppose the lesson was that we were fascist or something worse and that we needed more training. I don’t think that the guy (deliberately downgraded here from professor) understood the level of intelligence that he was dealing with. The outrage was immediate and resulted in the lecture series being terminated. See, we can win some.

  • SwitchedOnSavage
    • Hass

      That was just awesome!
Good to see the Girl and her man get a few decent ones into that worthless good for nothing baboon, especially the boot to the head.

      • nomoretraitors

Eric Holder is filing hate crime charges as we speak

    • Hass

I can’t believe those white idiots were more concerned about the coward gorilla’s bleeding than the poor girl whom he could’ve easily murdered.

  • Biff_Maliboo

Okay, then “gay marriage” doesn’t exist, either.

    It’s just a label.

Remember, gays don’t want marriage, they want a wedding.

  • Dallas25305

Black hood rats the most ignorant and racist group of people on the planet. However their leader and hero Barak Hussien Obama is just as racist as they are only his major move is to destroy the country.

    • PharmDoc61

      Don’t forget Eric Holder.

  • justquitnow

“Every liberal denies he’s a liberal, but that doesn’t mean “liberals” don’t exist. (Would that it were so!)”

Sorry Ann…you’re a cultist. You decry the misuse of language, but your career is made of anti-concepts and intellectually dishonest horsecocky. Without “the left” there is no Ann Coulter.

    • Skeptic7

The Democrat cultists live in Democrat controlled impoverished areas and academia.

No matter how high the crimes rates in their neighborhoods, they vote Democrat.
No matter how low the graduation rates, they vote Democrat.
No matter how bad the economy in their area, they vote Democrat.

That’s Democrat cult behavior. Ann just points it out.

      • justquitnow

Sigh…you just have no idea what I’m talking about do you? You think it’s all a tit for tat, left against right., good against evil cartoon….and guess what! You get to be the “good” one….what a surprise. As long as you’re angry at lazy black people, then mission accomplished.

    • nomoretraitors

Without the left there would be no Detroit either

      • justquitnow

You need quotes around “left” and “detroit”.

        • Drakken

Being a tad obtuse aren’t you leftard?

  • Skeptic7

It’s called gaslighting. The effort to press your opponent into denying reality as a way to win your point and drive them insane.

It’s “label” comes from the movie Gaslight with Ingrid Bergman. Her husband is trying to drive her insane, and so he denies everything she sees or experiences. “No sweetheart, the gaslights aren’t dimmer than before.” (Yes they are.)

Gaslighting is aggressive, and abusive. We are in an abusive relationship with the non-Fox, non-Breitbart media. We are in an abusive relationship with our government.

  • nomoretraitors

Good story. But can I make one suggestion?
    Break things up into paragraphs

    • Skeptic7

She probably indented, and then the page justified it to the left. She has to skip lines to make a paragrah.

  • Skeptic7

    It’s thought control.

  • nomoretraitors

The left makes a living srewing around with AMERICA

  • tagalog

In the videos I see of Knockout Game punches, the assailant punches the victim REALLY HARD!!! With their bare hands! Particularly that one of the guy who punches the woman from behind. But also the teacher the guy knocks down.

Why don’t they seem to suffer pain in their punching hands? Are they insensible to such pain? I know I’D be clutching my hand and grimacing, going “OWWWW!” after some of the punches you see on the videos if I were one of those knockout perps.

  • tagalog

I once got into an argument with a leftie about a remark that appeared in a cartoon depicting Third World women in a mass, with their fists raised in the well-known gesture of resistance, when it claimed that feminists need “revolution.” She was quite insistent that the term “revolution” in that context meant rapid change and did not involve violence. We went round and round, but in the end I simply gave up.

In Catholic school, I learned that there’s such a thing as “invincible ignorance.” At first that’s what I though she was, invincibly ignorant, but upon reflection I decided that she was just being disingenuous.

  • dad22

I like when Ann whips the I-tards into a frenzy over a non-issue. She plays them so well. And of course a big thank you to the band, you didn’t miss a beat.

    • Right of Left

I know the favorite of the juvenile crowd; i.e. ‘libtards’ but I haven’t heard “I-tards”. Please enlightened me and perhaps all of us.

      • dad22

OK, you used enlightened improperly. you have been enlightened.

        • Right of Left

OMG, I made a grammatical error! Horror of horrors, all my previous statements, comments, and arguments are worthless and you are hereby annointed as the most sage and astute commenter ever. I’m just sorry that I ever believed for one moment that I could match wits with you and your spelling and grammatical supremacy.

          • dad22

Oh come on, it was funny.

          • Right of Left

OK, I grant you a laugh and promise to watch my spelling.
