Palestinians: Deserving of a State?

Ari Lieberman is an attorney and former prosecutor.

Palestinian gunmen ride motorcycles as they drag the body of a man, who was suspected of working for Israel, in Gaza CityOn November 20, 2012 six Palestinian civilians, accused of collaborating with Israel, were dragged from their homes in Gaza City by Palestinian gunmen. The butchery that followed represented depravity in the extreme, even by Palestinian standards. The six were summarily executed before an approving crowd that included children and at least one was dragged through the city streets, tethered to a motorcycle. There was no trial, no jury, no judge, no defense attorney and no prosecutor, only thugs armed with AK-47s. Welcome to “Palestine,” the sweetheart of the misguided, adoring left and the neo-fascist right.

The level of brutality witnessed on that November day is not confined to areas controlled by Hamas nor is it an aberration. The Palestinian Authority, which is dominated by the rival Fatah gang and which controls some 40% of Judea & Samaria (the West Bank) routinely engages in systematic torture, suppression of free speech, arbitrary jailing, incitement to violence and discriminatory practices against its ever-decreasing minority Christian population. Its leader, Mahmoud Abbas, is an unelected, Holocaust-denying, autocrat who is adept at deceiving Western audiences but expresses positions supportive of Hamas when addressing Arabic listeners.

David Keyes, in an insightful Op-Ed piece for the New York Times, correctly noted that how a nation abides by the treaties it signs with its neighbors can be measured by how it treats its own citizens. Judging by the Palestinian Authority’s abysmal human rights record (not to mention that of Hamas) it does not look encouraging.

There are currently twenty-one Arabic countries, all in various states of dysfunction. Iraq, wracked by internecine warfare, is swiftly unraveling with 1,000 of its citizens murdered in sectarian conflict just in the past month. Syria, whose leader recently used Sarin to gas his own people, has long since ceased to be a country, having fractured along ethno-religious lines. And Egypt, always regarded as the premiere Arab state, is just barely functioning and teetering on the brink full-fledged civil war. The rest of the Arab world is in no better shape and there appears to be no end in sight to Arab internal conflict and its brutal consequences.

If past performance is any indicator, the Palestinian state, should it ever come to fruition will almost certainly end up like the rest of the Arab lot and devolve into a stateless, lawless region marked by extremism, violence and terror. Such an entity will pose a direct challenge to regional stability. Indeed, the clan-based ethno and religious schisms that currently exist within Palestinian society are not new and date back to the 1930s and 40s when the Husseini and Nashashibi clans violently battled each other for Palestinian leadership roles.

The bloody 2006 Gaza clashes between Fatah and Hamas that left Hamas in control of Gaza was, like the Husseini-Nashashibi clashes, nothing more than a power grab with a religious twist. Palestinian society has not changed or evolved since the turn of the century. The transition of power is still effectuated through the barrel of an AK-47 and the democratic process is conceptually as alien to them as it was to Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge and other despotic, fascist movements.

It is also worthwhile to note past aberrant Palestinian reactions to the suffering and misfortune of others. After the 9-11 attacks that resulted in the deaths of 3,000 civilians, Palestinians were seen gleefully cheering and handing out sweets. Other suicide attacks carried out by Palestinian Arabs in Israel garnered similar perverted reactions. There were reports suggesting that Palestinians cheered after the Boston Marathon outrage as well. During the 1991 Gulf War Palestinians sickeningly cheered as Scud missiles fired by Saddam Hussein landed in heavily populated urban areas of central Israel.

As the circumstances in Egypt, Syria and Iraq have taught us, the world can ill-afford the creation of yet another dysfunctional, undemocratic Arab state. The creation of such an entity will almost certainly invite regional instability. Moreover, a society that instinctively cheers as civilians are maimed and murdered and whose charter still calls for the dismantling of another U.N. member state is undeserving of statehood. It is time for the Palestinian-obsessed E.U. to shift gears, overcome its cognitive dissonance and take up a more worthy cause for a stateless but unique and indigenous people infinitely more deserving of statehood than the so-called Palestinians. The Kurds come to mind.

The so-called “Palestinians” are Arabs, not Palestinians. The names “Palestinian” and “Palestine” always meant “Jew” and “land of the Jews.” since the Roman Emperor Hadrian, in 135 A.D., after defeating the last Jewish rebellion under Bar Kochba, changed the name of Judea to Palestina, to forever eradicate all memory of the Jews. (He also outlawed Judaism and changed the name of Jerusalem to Aelia Capitolina, “Aelius” being his gens name.) That is why Great Britain, after World War I, was awarded the “Palestine Mandate” to be “the homeland of the Jews.”
Calling Arabs who wanted to destroy Israel “Palestinians” is a consequence of Soviet propaganda. Gamal Nasser of Egypt and the Soviet Union invented the “Palestine Liberation Organization” (P.L.O.) in Cairo in 1964. It came to fame by massacring the Israeli athletes at the Olympic games in Munich in 1972. Since then, these Arabs have been called “Palestinians.”
Arabs already have many states, so this group of Arabs do not deserve yet another.

Actually, Palestine is Latin for Land of the Philistines, you know Goliath’s lot. But apart from that the rest is correct.

If the Bolshevik Revolution had failed, there would have never been the concept of a so-called “Palestinian” nation at all. Lenin ruined history for everyone.

If anyone thinks that the Jews will have peace with these primitive savages is living in lala land. Time to purge the area of these parasites once and for all time, anything less is slow suicide.

Notice the “kick” the motorcyclists are having watching that poor man’s face being grinded by the pavement. Doesn’t a murderous, demonic and fake religion, mixed with 1400 yrs of cousin marriage produce nice, normal folks?

We are repeatedly reminded what we already know about the Arabs. Despite all this Netanyahu and many Israeli leaders are STILL determined to create another Arab state inside Israel’s heartland. This despite the bitter lessons of Oslo and despite the opposition of most Israelis. The Arabs may be evil but many Jews are criminally insane.
In America 3/4 of the Jews helped elect a clearly flawed Obama in 2008 and in 2012 2/3 of U.S Jews incredibly voted to re-elect this racist anti-Semite.
We should complain less about our Arab enemies and deal first with the widespread cancer of the soul among so many Jews.

What is Netanyahu doing to create a Palestinian state?

      • Gee

Giving them land, money, food, water, power, fuel, medical care. Heck we give them everything they have

  • Walter Sieruk

Two this things need to be stated. First, anyone Arab or Jew, who lived in that area in the Middle East before 1948 was considered to be a Palestinian. Only after that year did the Muslin/Arabs in that area start to reffer only to themselves as “Palestinians.” As if the giving that title only to themselves that would give them some right to that land. They must feel going by that term does, inspite of all the facts. Second, that land belongs only to the Jewish people by Divine Right, as for example in the Bible in Genesis 28 13-15. 35:10-12. Deuteronomy 32:48,49. Psalm 105:7-11. 135:4. Likewise that land also belongs to the Jews by the rights of history, First Kings 4;20,21,24,25. 8:55,56. In all fairness there is one way for the”Palsetinians” to convince God change His Mind and then turn His Back of the State of Israel and thus have Israel be no more . That way is to change the laws of astrophysics, imcluding that of the sun, the moon and the stars. For God declared in Jeremiah 31:35,36. “Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for alight by day and the ordinances of the moon and stars for a light by night…The Lord of host is His name . If those ordinances depart from Me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever.”

    • EarlyBird

Walter, stop making Israelis look insane. They don’t have a right to Israel because of God or their racial ancestry. Leave those arguments for Islamists and left-wing racists like MeCha.

Israel has a right to Israel because they got that land, developed that land, and defended that land. They won. That’s enough argument.

What part of God’s Word do you not get!

Genesis 12:1-3 – Now the LORD had said to Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you: And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing: AND I WILL BLESS THEM THAT BLESS YOU, AND CURSE HIM THAT CURSES YOU.

Genesis 17:15-16 – Then God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name. “I will bless her, and indeed I will give you a son by her. Then I will bless her, and SHE SHALL BE A MOTHER OF NATIONS; KINGS OF PEOPLES WILL COME FROM HER.”

Exodus 23:31-33 – I will establish your borders from the Red Sea (Sea of Reeds) to the Sea of the Philistines (Mediterranean) and from the desert to the River . I will hand over to you the people who live in the land and you will drive them out before you. DO NOT MAKE A COVENANT WITH THEM or with their gods. Do not let them live in your land, or they will cause you to sin against me, because the worship of their gods will certainly be a snare to you.

Leviticus 25:23 – “The land must not be sold permanently, because the land is mine and you are but aliens and my tenants.”

Numbers 33:55-56 – But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land, those you allow to remain will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides.

Wrong answer – prior to 1948 calling an Arab a Palestinian could get a person killed. They did not start attempting calling themselves that until 1964.

Since the letter ‘P’ does not exist in Arabic they cannot either pronounce what they claim nor spell it

Our claim to the land is enshrined in the San Remo Treaty, Mandate for Palestine and the UN Charter

So-called Palestinians like all Muslims today are jihadists and the only thing they deserve is to be defeated.

gazastan is full of inbred genocidal sociopaths who deserve their own insane asylum and not their own state. Few Israelis believe that real peace is a palestinian objective. Rather, palestinians want the kind of peace that would result from the destruction of Israel and the slaughter of all of its Jews.

The Muslim World is in its last days and knows it. The Jewish State of Israel, on the other hand, will be a shining beacon to the world a thousand years from now. This only makes Muslims more frantic, willing to pull out all stops and make as many mental casualties among non-Muslims as possible by spreading disinfo., for which oil revenue gives them plenty of grease money. Agreed: Palestinians are incapable of anything like civilization, and are hell-bent on destroying Israel.

Question: How does giving them nation status change anything, for good or bad, for Israel?

Answer: Nothing, if in fact we are to take Israel for its word that they only want to live in peace and stop taking any more land.

    • Drakken

Leaving those pali savages in place in their own so called state is an exercise in futility and suicide. The muslims want all of Israel and they don’t care how many muslims it takes to make it happen. So I say to Israel, quit screwing around with the bloody savages and give them what they so richly deserve, a ticket to paradise to party with the devil himself with our compliments.

    • Gee

It’s our land. Muslims only have a bit over 99.99% of the land in the Middle East – now they want our tiny tiny less than 0.01%.

The Arabs have no legal claim to any of the land and have stated that their goal is mere genocide

  • eddie henely

if they want their own country or land why should it come out of Israel? why cant one of the larger arab nations give them some land if they want them to have land? Makes no sense to give them land where is is very little to give

“The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians,

Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct “Palestinian people” to oppose Zionism.

For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders,
cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”

    Islamic Appeasement?

Israel replaced with Palestine on map in language class at SDSU
    09/10/2013

SAN DIEGO – A map distributed in a language class at San Diego State University labeled Israel as Palestine, leading to an outcry from the local Jewish community. ….

Students gave the map to the non-profit, pro-Israel San Diego group, “Stand With Us.”

The group sent a newsletter to its members and urged the community to contact the department’s chairman and Arabic program director. The group also posted the map to its Facebook page.

The electronic newsletter states the map “not only fails to label ‘Israel’ as a legitimate country,” but that “it falsely portrays the entire territory of Israel as ‘Palestine.’”

“I want to see an apology from the professor, and I want to see him to hand out a correct map,” the student said.

Nicole Bernstein, of Stand With Us, questioned the department chair about the map, and she shared that response with Team 10.

The department chair said the professor used Palestine in place of Israel on the labels to “reflect the view of Arab-speakers in the region.” …

Even if Palestinians were the cannibals you make them out to be, it doesn’t change the fundamental fact that they were living in that land for thousands of years before 1948 and were forced out by the Zionist invaders.
