"...many nonviolent individuals perish at the hands of the violent. This is not mob rule." No, it isn't. You're absolutely right. However, the implication that innocent slaughter happens often; therefore, "what can ya do?" opens up mob rule as your only alternative. I don't like our Government killing or indefinitely holding Americans on suspicion without trial. That goes against our whole system of checks and balances. Onto your next statement that "PTSD is often bs." Suicide rates are astronomical among veterans. An average of 22 veterans committed suicide per day in 2010. It happens; not always, but often. Check your premise.

Am I incorrect in assuming that this forum is based on followers of Objectivist philosophy in art? If I am not wrong, then there are some convenient leaps in logic going on. During the 2012 Republican Primaries, Ron Paul was the only candidate who admitted to carrying an Ayn Rand newsletter in his pocket; yet he was the candidate attacked most by so-called Objectivists. Does no one else see a potential inconsistency here? There are a lot of false claims being thrown around by professional half-thinkers that make me embarrassed to know Ayn Rand left an estate to be inherited. If you don't understand what I'm referring to, listen to Yaron Brook discussing Gary Johnson on a recent podcast with Amy Peikoff. He speaks of how Johnson was a great candidate but somehow turned anti-American overnight by running on the Libertarian ticket. While it's true that you inherit guilt by association with your political party, the Libertarian Party has no blood on its hands unlike Republicans and Democrats. I have yet to hear Ron Paul or Gary Johnson either say he wants to apologize for America. Also, I'm still trying to figure out how Objectivists have any business as policy experts. Can you imagine John Galt accepting that job title?

I could go on for days.

The fact is that many nonviolent individuals perish as the hands of the violent. This is not mob rule!

PTSD is often bs. Many fought, saw their friends perish (blown to bits) and did not suffer from PTSD. Often, new diseases are created to allow MD's to push pills.

He's right on Bin Laden, sorry. Once you set up the precedent that it's all right to execute someone without a trial, you open up the possibility for innocent people to die without trial. "We" gave Saddam Hussein a trial, and he was hanged. That worked out fine. But now look at what the Obama Administration is doing with the drone strike policy on American citizens without trial (ties into NDAA). The precedent is wide open. Ron Paul was right about Bin Laden, hate him or not. It's not as though he hadn't said that we should have taken him into custody at the Gulf of Tonkin, because that's what he said. As far as Chris Kyle is concerned, he is right that 'he who lives by the sword dies by the sword'. Even Ayn Rand says that. It doesn't make it justifiable, it only makes his murder possible. His friend had post-traumatic stress disorder and potentially fired upon Kyle and a second victim because of it. (We don't have all of the information yet, so perhaps Paul's Twitter team should have waited until the facts were in instead of being reactionary like everyone else has been.) Otherwise, there is nothing untrue in his statements, cold as they may be. “Don't ever get angry at a man for stating the truth.” - Ayn Rand... It's a hard pill to swallow.

Me thinks it was time for Ron Paul to not run for office again... the old man is falling apart at the seams.
How could a thinking man say on Twitter what he said about Chris Kyle? Shame on him. There must be some form of dementia or Alzheimer's brewing in the deep wrinkles of his brain. I am sure that Chris Kyle's wife and two children appreciated Mr. Paul's comments, and Jesse Ventura who can't even speak english intelligently suing his family, go crawl back in your hole Jesse. You were a lousey Governor, you weren't even a good wrestler either. Mary711

"did the victim die by the weapon?"

Well actually NO--if were going to be so OCD focused on extacting definations then the victim was a sniper and he was killed with what seems to be a handgun. 2 very different weapons and uses. So no "jenius" ;) that is a patiently wrong statement on YOUR part.

For those of us that stilll ive in reality---I would AGAIN ask--LEO's also uses guns to protect and defend--whould either you or Ron Paul ALSO states that the same cops that defend the public at large ALSO be so sneering and comtemptious of their sacrifice as well????

On the one hand, he was SO GOOD on economics and decent on individual rights. He invigorated the youth to read Bastiat, Mises, Hazlitt, and Hayek and to take their lessons to heart. For decades he was the one man on capitol hill who understood basic economics and who could stand up forcefully to entitlement expansions, Fannie and Freddie, the Federal Reserve, Sarbox, etc.

. Ron Paul is similar to the classical liberals mention above that didn't like much defense spending. My idea to not rise taxes for American Citezns but tax remittance money since 120 billion dollars is being transfer to othre countries by immirgants from Mexico, China and so forth. THis could helped the defense budget or local schools and so forth. Paul is bad on legalizing sex for sale because it doesn't get rid of the black market but encourages more sex trafficing.
