This Week’s Heroes on the Right and Left

Bosch Fawstin is an Eisner Award-nominated cartoonist currently working on a graphic novel, The Infidel, featuring the anti-jihad superhero, Pigman. The first two chapters are now available in digital comic book form. Bosch’s first graphic novel is Table for One. He is also the author of ProPiganda: Drawing the Line Against Jihad, a print companion to The Infidel.

This week gave us a clearer than usual look at the difference between the right and the left.

Doctor Ben Carson became a hero on the right when he spoke truth to power to the most powerful man on earth.

Christopher Dorner became a hero on the left after murdering innocent people.

Leftists called Carson’s speech “inappropriate”, but called murderer Christopher Dorner a “superhero”.

The left’s embrace of this murderer as a “hero” reveals their nihilism.

  • bob e

    like your stuff mate..

i hate the phrase: "truth to power" is meaningless these days.

    • Tpartygramma

It never has been nor ever will be meaningless.

  • Brujo Blanco

The left has displayed their reality by condemning a man who saves lives and praising a man who murderess. This is able display of what may be in our future.

  • James McEnanly

On our side we have rocket scientists(Herman Cain) and brain surgeons (Dr. Ben Carson), while they have mass murderers (Christopher Dorner) and rabble rousers (Barrack Obama). Who would you rather have managing the country?

    • Questions

Selectivity of information can take you only so far. By any reasonable definition, for example, Einstein was a "Leftist." So was Picasso.

As an aside, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Herman Cain sold pizza.

      • Mary Sue

He owned a pizza shop but that doesn't negate his doctoral qualities.

      • objectivefactsmatter

"By any reasonable definition, for example, Einstein was a "Leftist.""

Really? Why don't you unpack your explanation for us.

        "So was Picasso."

        Picasso for president. Great idea.

      • joe

Was the left partnered with Islamists,Communists ,antisemites and mass murders when Einstein was alive ?

"Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions."

"Force always attracts men of low morality."

"In order to be an immaculate member of a flock of sheep, one must above all be a sheep oneself."

        "Information is not knowledge."
        Albert Einstein

Obviously you know nothing about Mr.Cain

        "Selectivity of information", indeed.

      • Jake Tobias

Love Picasso's work. But Picasso very publicly joined the communist party after WWII. That makes him a lefty. In more ways than one. The burnt fool's bandaged fingers go wobbling back to the fire.

    • bryce armstrong

Thats ok though, because you both are in love with Martin Luthor King.

The day is coming when the criminal's will be set free. And the left will lock us up. Or kill us

  • Ar'nun

F'in brilliant! What a perfect observation, the left gets dumber and dumber every day.

    • Jake Tobias

I have to agree. Fawstin's split panel comparison is brilliant.

  • Tan

There's a saying in the 21st century, "Another man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." It's finally coming to light that almost all of the Left's "heroes" are evil wicked people. Who's next? Will Satan be one of the Left's heroes some day? Oh, wait, I forgot that the Left has a ally similar to Satan: they're called radical Muslims or Islamists. Satan is nihilistic, the Left is nihilistic, and radical Muslims are nihilistic. All are nihilists!!!

    • overdressedunderpaidpettyadministrator

Oops, Lucifer is the hero in the introduction to Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinksy, so yes, it has already happened.

  • Phil

Liberal is not necessarily a dirty word The proble is how one defines "liberal". In fact, many people who identify themselves as progressives or liberals are really extreme leftists. These are the people who defend criminals and monsters such as Mumia, the rioters who nearly killed the white truck driver durint the Rodney King rioting, and blamed America for the 9-11 attacks. To these rootless people, evil is good and good is evil.

    • objectivefactsmatter

"In fact, many people who identify themselves as progressives or liberals are really extreme leftists."

Leftist is clearer. Especially since nobody uses that to identify themselves it's clear what we're talking about.

      • Gee

I consider myself to be a liberal on social issues. I do not allow the government to tell me what I can do with my own person, nor do I feel I have the right to tell anybody else what to do. That makes me a liberal.

I support the Constitution of the United States ALL of it and ALL the amendments and it is not to be usurped by anybody. I also don't want the government to mind every business or spend more than it takes in – making me a conservative.

So what category do I fall in?

        • objectivefactsmatter

"So what category do I fall in?"

Most conservatives are liberal on many issues. Many "Liberals" are not all that liberal. Labels are like themes or brands. Some times they're very deceptive. Leftists are those who explicitly oppose those who wish to conserve the status quo on fundamental constitutional values.

You sound like a conservative to me.

  • Stilgar27

Which leftists consider Dorner a hero? I don't!

    • Mary Sue

Leftists that make you look like Rush Limbaugh.

    • objectivefactsmatter

I stand corrected. You confess to being a leftist?

"Which leftists consider Dorner a hero? I don't!"

Let's be more clear. It's culturally acceptable on the left to look up to Dormer and other anti-heroes. It doesn't mean there is universal agreement on which specific evil people are looked up to.

  • @RTHTGakaRoland

The Left is inherently totalitarian and violent, and has no internal constraints. Only their consolidation of adequate power separates Obama and his follows from Mao, Hitler, Stalin, and Pot and theirs.

Dorner was just a bit crazier than most and responded to the incitement and license coming from Obama and Company a bit sooner than they hoped. Make no mistake, with his desire for strict and expansive regulation (Primarily gun control and affirmative action for him.) and propensity for violence Dorner is a typical man of the Left. Dorner was just at the very front of their mob.

    • objectivefactsmatter

"Dorner was just a bit crazier than most and responded to the incitement and license coming from Obama and Company a bit sooner than they hoped."

It was chip-cashing time for him. It could happen to any radical leftist you find in the occupy movement if the right pressures emerge in their narcissistic lives.

  • joe

Dorner was barely crazy compared to most. Libs love their insane and have fan clubs to them, like – Manson,Dahmer,Holmes, the nightstalker,Lenin,NOI,NBPP,BPP,Hitler ,Mao………..our prisons are full of "hero" cop killers.

    • 11bravo

      Dorner was not crazy!!
We have to be able to point that out. If someone who kills (not in war/defense) has to be crazy…What about a mother who would hold down her daughter to get her clitoris cut off with a razor blade, with no anesthetic?
How about beheadings? State sanctioned amputations?
Evil is evil, crazy is crazy!

  • bluffcreek1967

I agree with many of the statements of Dr. Ben Carson, but please folks let's not make him the next black political 'savior' that white Republicans fawn over to show how non-racist we are! Most of our black conservatives that we've made a big deal about over the past 10 years have not turned out the best (e.g., Cain, Powell et al). Let's stop all this 'our black guy is better than your black guy.'

    • objectivefactsmatter

"I agree with many of the statements of Dr. Ben Carson, but please folks let's not make him the next black political 'savior' that white Republicans fawn over to show how non-racist we are!"

It's just a convenient illustration to show contrast.

      • bluffcreek1967

I understand that quite well. My comment was more or less directed at the attention Ben Carson is currently getting from Republicans. Carson's views are spot on, but many white Republicans have already said the same or similar sorts of things. I see another 'rally around the conservative black guy' starting to swell and I'm simply addressing that.

        • objectivefactsmatter

"I see another 'rally around the conservative black guy' starting to swell and I'm simply addressing that."

I think that's premature. It's possible but I don't have a problem in this case based on what I've seen so far.

I do think it's dangerous to try to emulate tactics of the enemy just because they seem effective for them. I understand your concern generally. I wish people other than blacks had "cultural permission" to criticize the president or his policies but that's what it's come to. If anyone is able to stand against 0'Bama, I'll support him or her. If blacks are better positioned to do so because of leftist cultural hegemony, it will naturally lead to them having an easier time getting in to leadership positions. It's not ideal, but may be the best realistic choice we have. As long as the individual is not the one compromising, I don't have a problem with it.

    • Ghostwriter

Well,at least Dr. Carson had some good ideas. Christopher Dorner,on the other hand was a murderous freak that deserved what he got.

  • Ghostwriter

The past week had two black men come from relative obscurity to fame. One was an eloquent doctor who told the president and those around him in a clear and concise way that his policies are hurting the country. The other one was a bloodthirsty loon who shot people. Guess who I like more? If you guess Dr. Carson, you're correct. Dorner can roast in Hades for all I care.

  • chopper

Yes Bosch……….all very nice stuff. I use to see your work often when Andrew Breibart was still alive and i would frequent some of the "big" sites.

I have you on my favorites now, and will be back much more often.

thanks for all you do. chopper.

    • Bosch_Fawstin

      Thanks, chopper, appreciate that.

  • link building service

Excellent way of describing, and fastidious paragraph to obtain
information concerning my presentation focus, which i am going to deliver in college.

  • Joe

What’s the difference between Christopher Dorner, and right-wing hero Randy Weaver, you pigfhucking sister sodomizing piece of southern inbred crap?
