Gone are the days when a father could support a family and household. Gone are the days when a mother could raise children at home. Gone are the days when you could save enough money for a down payment on a home or buy a new car with cash. Gone are the days when teaching was a labor of love and working for the government was a civic duty. Gone are the days when families, churches or private charities stood to help the unfortunate. Gone are the days when pursuing the American Dream was considered noble and patriotic. Gone are the days when government allowed the people to decide what was in their own best interests.

The longer this "progressive" march to Utopia continues, the closer we get to barbarism.

The populace "votes" this ways because it is always given a choice between two false alternatives, "move to the left fast, or move to the left slightly slower." Additionally, conservative politicians don't deliver when they win elections. Bush Jr. promised smaller government, a modest foreign policy, and an end to nation building. Also, they don't even try to deliver on moral issues. Back when anti-abortion politicians were winning elections, the Republican establishment declared that they couldn't win elections being anti-abortion. The dems do deliver. They promise bigger government, and sexual immorality (freedom of choice in all matters sexual and nothing else) and they deliver. Worse still, both parties continue to send jobs overseas and allow the mass importation of surplus labor to drive down wages and benefits while crippling our tax base.
So, who's to vote for?

Prager has been really angry lately. He has not been rude and he still has his happiness hour, but the left has just been over the top.

I wonder how he feels about the Bureau of Labor Statistics cooking the books on the unemployment #s last year for the election?

I follow Zero Hedge so I knew they were cooking the books, but now it is official.

and yet the left seems not to care.

Jack Welch will not get an apology for correctly suspecting that the the U3 numbers were a lie.

Liberal policies' effects on the six largest portions of a typical household budget
1. Housing - HUD quotas for low-to-moderate income housing caused the housing bubble and inevitable collapse. Aided by the Fed's easy money, and by the seven layers of federal regulators ignoring the bubble.
2. Food - prices are much higher than they ought to be because of ethanol, consuming 40% of all corn, our largest crop (30% net after feeding the leftover mash to farm animals).
3. Energy - EPA and other agencies hostility to oil, gas and nuclear drives prices higher. Federal lands' net production is down, even as fracking strikes gold.
4. Education - third rate government schools for 85% of our students. Liberal opposition to all alternatives.
5. Medicine - the marketplace functions of price competition are gone. 90% of all bills are paid by insurance or government. Nobody knows prices or cares because they don't have to know. Jackpot justice drives up prices. Fraud is rampant.
6. Retirement savings - social security and Medicare are Ponzi schemes which are now no where near self-funding. The alternative, private accounts for that 15.3% of payrolls, would make virtually all lifelong workers into millionaires by retirement.

There are two essential problems with the left:

1. It is a fundamentally reactionary ideology that requires an enemy. Progressives require a negative, terrible past and present to transcend. If the left cannot find something to transcend, it dies. Therefore, it must create problems to solve.

2. True believers in the left, who really and honestly want to solve problems in society, would ideally "legislate themselves out of existence" - like the firefighter with no fires to fight, or George Washington giving up the Crown, or a cop with no crime left in his small town. It is an extremely, extremely rare man who will do this. Most of them will look around and say, "Well, maybe there could still be a few fires....maybe I had better stick around and stay in power just in case."

These two unsolvable problems are why the left is a self-cannibalizing, negative ideology that must either kill itself or its host in time. So it has always been, so it shall always be.

It has been said by someone that the belief and practice of the principles of the left is a proof of that practitioner's mental illness. Through out the centuries the various examples of the left's principle's in practice have indeed led to the collapse of the gov't or economy of every example; and the death of millions of people. with all the examples proving the corruption of the choice it remains a mystery why the voting populace inflicts this curse upon their fellow man. It is indeed a mental illness that causes a person to drill holes in the boat that carries himself and his fellow man; the adage proves to be true.
