The Arab Spring and its unraveling is tugging on all the complex tribal strings of Middle Eastern politics. To understand what’s going on, you have to realize that

1. Al Jazeera is the propaganda venture of Qatar, an Islamist backer of the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas

2. The Palestinian Authority has lined up with the new Egyptian government against the Muslim Brotherhood

3. Al Jazeera’s Qatari puppet masters are responding with grace and dignity by denouncing Arafat

4. The Palestinian Authority is responding with… well what do you think they’re responding with?

Palestinian riot police prevented dozens of angry protestors from breaking into a building where the offices of Al Jazeera TV channel are located in the center of Ramallah.

The Fatah Youth movement called for a demonstration against Al Jazeera after a guest attacked the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.

Two days before the show, on the 20th anniversary of signing the Oslo agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Liberation Organization, Hamami wrote on his Facebook page that Arafat accomplished the Israeli dream 20 years ago.

A few days before that, Al Jazeera published a documentary called “The Price of Oslo,” unveiling what they called new historical information showing that the PLO recognized Israel and turned its back on the “revolution.”

At the demonstration, protestors held signs and pictures of the late Arafat, while chanting slogans.

“Yasser Arafat is a red line,” said employee Nibras Hussein, after she was not allowed to leave her job to partake in the demonstration. “Most people are working at this time. I am sure much more people wanted to protest Arafat’s insult but can’t leave their jobs.”

In front of the building, more protesters came to participate in the demonstration. Amna Mustafa was one of them: “I came to say I reject the Zionist-American conspiracy that is being waged through Al Jazeera channel by insulting and distorting the national figures and symbols,” Mustafa, a 33-year-old protester, said.

The whole concept of a Zionist-American conspiracy has really been devalued.

Considering that half of Al Jazeera’s business involves reporting on the doings of the terrorists in the West Bank, antagonizing their ruling party was probably a bad idea.

Al Jazeera’s opposition to the Peace Process should baffle most Americans liberals who imagine that it’s “moderate”.

During the Iran-Contra Affair the US was arming ‘moderate Iranians’. At the time a moderate Iranian was defined as an Iranian out of ammunition.

Al Jazeera just wanted to remind everyone that peace is Un-Islamic.

“well what do you think they’re responding with?”

    Sad, true & funny.

We should not laugh, but the world is in such a state, we only have gallows humor left.

If our intelligence agencies had any intelligence they would find a way to plant moles in the various factions of Islamic terrorists and spread rumors that other factions were denigrating them, calling them wimps, questioning their manhood, whatever. If done properly, the bad guys might just wipe out each other.

  • Nerdbird

I watch Al Jazeera and it seems pretty fair in its news coverage. Maybe there is a bias but so far I am just interested in another point of view. I occasionally listen to Fox, though I do not agree with their right wing politics.
