Anthony “Huma” Weiner Preparing to Run for Mayor

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

Once upon a time, Weiner was a shoe-in to be the next mayor of New York City. But then he took a bit of a fall. And now the creepy couple of Huma and Anthony are plotting a comeback in celebrity profile style.

The New York Times Mag cover story is titled Huma and Anthony. The emphasis is Huma to act as the beard, even if some have speculated that Weiner is her beard. They’re just ordinary people. Weiner protects Huma against the Muslim Brotherhood links and lesbian rumors and Huma Abedin protects him against the whole out-of-control Twitter problem.

If Weiner pushes ahead, he will be going into a primary against the front-running lesbian, Christine Quinn,  Bill de Blasio, who is slightly to the left of Joseph Stalin, and John Liu, who may be an agent of Communist China and may be headed to jail over campaign finance fraud– the investigation is still running.

This entire mess gives you some idea of why Weiner may have a shot. Sure he messed around on Twitter, but the alternative is a woman who claims to be a 100 percent lesbian… and is accepted by most people because she seems reasonably competent.

Most of the bloggers writing angry pieces about Bloomberg don’t understand that he won 3 terms because the alternatives were so much worse. The Bloomberg effect is why Weiner may have a shot. Sure he’s bad, but it keeps Bill be Blasio from declaring the People’s Republic of Manhattazlan and prevents John Liu from putting the entire treasury into a briefcase and flying off to Dubai.

So Weiner is reinventing himself as a family man. As another Bill Clinton who screwed up but now his marriage is fixed. And you can’t count him out.

His advantages include being the best known candidate in the race and the one who has been piling up cash for a while. And his connections to the Clinton Mafia certainly don’t hurt. The Clintons have built up a power base in New York City and they reward loyalty and accept transgression. And after all that, the Democratic Party may believe that Weiner is the best choice to ward off a possible Ray Kelly run on the Republican line that is almost certain to squash a De Blasio or a Liu. And even Joe Lhota, with Giuliani campaigning for him non-stop, might be able to mount a formidable challenge.

So what do we learn from the Times profile. Huma Abedin doesn’t drink and initially had no interest whatsoever in Weiner. Some people choose not to drink. Others don’t do it for religious reasons. Maybe Huma just didn’t find Weiner interesting, or maybe there were obvious reasons why she wasn’t going to date him… until Hillary Clinton kept pushing them together.

Weiner says of Abedin “She is the most competent, graceful person I’ve met in all my years in politics. . . . And she’s the hatchet woman! The person at the side of the principal is usually the bad guy.”

Funny that.

I'm thinking it will be the lesbian since normalizing homosexuality seems to be the latest craze of all the culturally chic and fabulous leftwingers.

Being a Brit, I'm not entirely up with U.S, politics, but why can't someone of the calibre of Rudy Giuliani run for mayor? Or am I lionizing the man unjustifiably? I know little about his politics but from what I can gather he is not some Marxist idiot.
Is there nobody that can restore New York to its former glory? Come to think of it doesn't Chicago need a kick up the ass too?
Why is it that the three largest cities in the States (NY, LA, Chicago) all seem to have fallen prey to socialism, and their three respective states (NY, Commifornia and Illinois) are political jokes?
Maybe some informed American can enlighten me. Is that how Marxism works, capture the cities and then the rest will follow?
I'm not criticising your amazing nation, Britain is turning into a Leftist sewer too.
In fact we're ten years ahead of you on that one!

    • Daniel Greenfield

Giuliani is backing Lhota. but even Giuliani's original run was a difficult uphill battle. He lost the first time due to voter fraud.

When a governmental unit such as a city, state, or nation moves far enough to the Left, it's generally the worst who rise to the top. In the U.S., most cities are solidly Democratic because they have a solid base of government workers and welfare recipients who reliably vote for the party which helps them to piles of other people's money.

The Republican Party has not been a force in Chicago for the past 80 years (!) – in New York, things are a little different, but even there no conservative Republican could win (Giuliani was a law-and-order guy, but except for that, not particularly conservative). So to answer one of your questions, yes, this is how Marxism works in a Democratic context: buy enough votes with other people's money and you can win every election no matter how much damage you do. At least until the point of actual collapse – what will happen then depends on the strength and organization of those of us who love freedom – but that is another subject. Suffice it to say that a number of American cities and even several states may actually collapse in our lifetimes.

      • Softly Bob

You're lucky then to have independent states that can break free if need be, so if NY goes for example then the rest of the U.S. can pull out. I can't see Wyoming, Montana, Alaska, Kansas and so on, wanting to be part of some collapsed Marxist nation.
In our little island of Britain we're cramped in enough as it is. If London and Manchester were to get swallowed up in some sort of Islamo-Marxist balck hole, I think we would have no choice but to start punching our way out of the corner. We're fighting on the ropes as it is!

Dear heaven…when will this nightmare go away, you know, the one where Muslim Brotherhood Mafia operatives are not in the forefront of American politics, even if one's spouse happens to be named "Weiner". Where to begin…as to the deleterious effects of Humala ever becoming the "First Lady" of NYC!….this was her initial infiltration – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/08/15/the-muslim-st

But she graduated, ending up in the Clinton administration, soon after her time as leader in the MSA, and then onto Deputy COS – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/11/07/spotlight-on-

OMG, and the above has little to do with Anthony's sexual proclivities….but everything to do with Huma's Brotherhood penetration. My head hurts….

And another thing…you may want to tune into six degrees of separation… http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/06/25/six-degrees-o

New Yorkers, you can't say you weren't warned…

With his intense sexual problems he is a danger to society unless a full psychiatric evaluation confirms beyond any doubt that his behavior is the run of the mill.
Another evidence that the fools run the circus.
As far as lesbians are concerned, they should have the same rights/obligations as anybody else and prove their worse as well as anybody else. Not more, not less. Same for homosexuals and transgenders.
The universe was not created in one second.

  • NAHALKIDES

The terrible thing is that Quinn is probably the best of this bunch. Good-night, New York.

  • taksavillage

Could any of these clowns get elected to office in a rec center?

  • Ar'nun

We need to utilize this golden opportunity to reigniting the rage over Huma's Muslim Brotherhood connection. She needs to be investigated, and we need to know the damage she caused while Clinton was Sec of State.

  • Ar'nun

Daniel, there is no one from the Orthodox or Conservative Jewish community willing to run? What about you?

  • EarlyBird

So another good American patriot, complete with Sharps rifle, is rooting for a great American city and all its inhabitants to be murdered. And the fascists on this site actually give you a "thumbs up."

You disgusting animals are living up to the worst caricatures of the right wing.

    • sharpsrifle

And I should give a rat's doinker what you think why? New York is a cesspit and if it gets wiped out, who cares? Better NYC than someplace that actually matters, like Cheyenne or Elko!

      • EarlyBird

Get back to you trailer and still, hick.

        • sharpsrifle

Try 2,0000 acres of good Wyoming grazing land, creep. It's called the REAL America, not your overgrown outhouse populated with the losers who can't fend for themselves…scum holes like NY, Boston, Philadelphia, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, Los Angeles and San Francisco. WE can survive just fine without you, whereas those heaps of filth need US to produce food, fiber and raw materials. You see, I'VE been all over this country (and to eight different countries), so I don't have to assume, like easterners always do about those of us in the West. I also know the difference between "your" (posessive) and "you" (pronoun). I have yet to see some yokel from NY who doesn't confuse those two.

Let the nukes strike you and do the world some good. It's called "evolution in action." You serve no useful purpose in the ecosystem, are non-adaptive, and thus, shall be rendered extinct…while we in the West shall prosper by not having to subsidize your worthless butts. Good for us, sucks to be you.

    • Mary Sue

      says the fascist.

  • JacksonPearson

Andrew Cumo, Mickey Bloomberg, and Anthony Weenie…New York deserves what it gets.

  • WilliamJamesWard

Born and raised in NYC my only regret is that most of my family is buried in Calvary Cemetary,
if I could afford to I would move their remains, I just wonder how much faster they are spinning
in thier graves with the rise of the moral failures in City Government……….I escaped N.Y……..William

  • And so it goes

You know, Sharps, you make a good point. That glowing, smoking hole just might bring in some nice tourist dollars from China or Saudi Arabia.

  • F.K. Juliano

Weren't the firefighters and cops who ran into the World Trade Center on 9/11 decent human beings and patriotic Americans? I somehow doubt you and your filthy mouth would do the same. Yours is the most disgusting comment I've ever seen on this site. You're not a conservative, you're a Nazi.

  • F.K. Juliano

Wyoming is a wonderful place in many ways, but without the technology and culture produced in New York, San Francisco and the other great centers of civilizations, people who live there wouldn't have computers and everything else that allows a yahoo like Sharpsrifle to show off his ignorance to the world. With all due respect, you'd be back to living in tepees.

  • F.K. Juliano

    @JacksonPearson

And Kansas–as red as it gets–elected and reelected the horse-faced baby killer Kathleen Sebelius as governor. Lest anyone forget, she also played a major part in creating Obamacare. The point is not to criticize Kansas, but to illustrate that anyone who thinks "Red state, good; blue state, bad" has a pretty simple mind.

  • trudy

Let's call a spade a spade. If by any sort of hallucinatory operation of chance, Weiner gets in, the Muslim brotherhood will be running New York.
