Now that Hillary Clinton is prepping for her big 2016 presidential run, it wouldn’t be a proper culture of nepotism without Chelsea Clinton joining in the fun. Because everyone related to Bill Clinton deserves to hold some kind of political office. You wouldn’t expect them to get a job, would you?
Still if Hillary was a tough sell, Chelsea Clinton, who can barely handle a fluff NBC gig is going to be an even tougher sell. When you’re losing out in the nepotism talent lottery to Meghan McCain, it’s not a good sign.
But still there’s Chelsea once again telling the media that she is open to running for public office. Of course no one asks her why, though they probably should.
Chelsea Clinton is leaving open the possibility for running for office someday, saying she’s making a conscious effort to lead a more public life.
The daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was in Africa with her father and the Clinton Foundation when she told CNN that, right now, working with the foundation is how she could “best be of service.”
“I’m also grateful to live in a city, and a state and country where really I believe in my elected officials,” Chelsea Clinton said when asked if she would consider running for office. “And if someday either of those weren’t true, and I thought I could make more of a difference in the public sector, or if I didn’t like how my city or my state or my country were being run, then I’d have to ask and answer that question.”
“I really felt like I could make a difference and then I should make a difference,” she said. “And I had very much led a deliberately private life for a long time, and now I’m attempting to lead a purposely public life.”
So woman who works for Mommy and Daddy’s foundation and got a sweetheart gig at NBC thanks to her parents is really hoping to make a difference in public.
Oh and she’s clearly reciting a pre-written line. That means pros are involved. How can you tell?
Her response on a potential run for office mimics almost word for word what she told NBC in April, when she also hinted at the possibility of following in her parents’ footsteps.
People don’t tend to repeat things almost word for word, especially such a specific lawyerly formulation about believing in elected officials, unless it’s been pre-written for them.
Why pre-write it? Because it’s likely that the Clinton Crime Family is positioning her for a run against a fellow Democrat. Hard to find any other kind in New York.
Stupid, but the Clinton name has a lot of power. Just wait till NBC orders up Chelsea Clinton: The Miniseries.
