I'm not a troll or trying to point out useless semantics...his article title is just inaccurate. My intentions were not to upset anyone, I just didn't think it was an appropriate title. Both agencies do fall under the Department of Homeland Security and serve "similar" goals , but the difference is one union represents 7,600 agents (ICE) while the other represents around 17,000 (BP). If you don't understand the difference of the two agencies unions I don't know what more to say. The "Border Patrol Union Head" is not quoted in the article so why have his name/title in the title?

Well, we know a secure border *is* possible, if they seriously want one.

Over a period of just five years or so, some 70,000 Africans from the likes of Sudan and Eritrea infiltrated Israel's southern border. (That would be like almost 3 million for the US.) At its worst, some 2-3,000 more were coming every month. The government, belatedly concluding the cost of doing nothing was far worse than the cost of a barrier, began a crash course to secure that border. Almost completed now, the flow has slowed to a trickle.

Forget Rubio. He is an invention of the National Review and Red State's dreamy hopes for an ethnic Republican Obama.

Prior to the election, I heard NALEO representatives chuckling about how they had him in their pocket. To date his staff will not reply to questions about his interactions with that group. They won't even acknowledge questions.

In the Florida House, Rubio tricked his supporters and refused to use his position to pass the immigration reform he was pretending to support. Rubio is powerful to the degree that Republicans dream of being accepted into the faculty lounges of the Left. Now we know what they will sacrifice to have that dream.

"The whole pretext for the amnesty bill was that it was supposedly going to fix border security. We now know that the border security aspect of it is just hot air."

It will be "secure" when it's no longer against the law to walk across it unopposed. That's leftist border security.

Mr. Greenfield,

If an effort to preserve journalism integrity, the title of your article states the "Border Patrol Union Head Calls on Rubio to Leave Senate Amnesty Gang" when in fact it is not the head of the Border Patrol Union that is quoted in the article, but the head of the ICE Union. Though the opinions of the Border Patrol Union head Brandon Judd "might" be similar, wrongly stating the Border Patrol Union in the title instead of ICE Union is misleading. I would expect better journalism from a man such as yourself.

How can we expect any immigration laws to have an impact when the current administration undermines the law on a regular basis? Arizona has been sued by the federal government for enforcing immigration law. Last year, members of the ICE Union sued Morton and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for preventing them from enforcing the law. This past summer, Obama unilaterally decided not to enforce immigration law and ordered that illegals who would have qualified under the Dream Act (which did not pass Congress) be granted legal status. This EO needs to be overturned.

There are millions of law-abiding immigrants who have applied and waited years and even decades to come to the US. Illegals can stay in the shadows until every single current lawful applicant is granted a work permit, green card or citizenship. Illegals can stay in the shadows until the fence is built and the border is secure.

This is what needs to be accomplished:
-build the double-layer fence
-expidite and approve pending law-abiding applicants for work permits, green cards and citizenship
-enforce e-verify
-codify English as the national language
-prevent illegals from accessing any federal aid or benefits
-allow ICE and BP to do their jobs and enforce current immigration law

Once that is in place, illegals who have no other criminal background may apply for work permits or green cards. Those who come forward should submit to background checks, fingerprinting, pay back taxes accumulated in all the years they have been here, pay a $1,500 fine, learn English, etc.

After all that, and a four year waiting period, they can get in line behind any current citizen applicants that have not yet been processed. They should receive no federal aid until they are approved as citizens.

Whatever these losers come up with will be the closest thing to total surrender they can get away with. Schumer had his greasy fingerprints all over IRCA in 1986 which was supposed to fix the problem permanently and here he is again.

The only job he cares about is his own. Too bad we can't deport him.
