Cancer Patient Who Spoke Out Against ObamaCare Now Being Audited

cancer-pt-cancelled-by-obamacare

Bill Elliot was a cancer patient who lost his insurance due to ObamaCare and couldn’t pay the expensive new premiums. He was talking about paying the ObamaCare fine, going without health insurance and “letting nature take its course.”

He went on FOX News where his story was picked up by C. Steven Tucker, a health insurance broker who helped him keep his insurance.

Now suddenly Bill Elliot is being audited for 2009 with an interview only scheduled in April 2014. Assuming he lives that long. That might be a coincidence, but Tucker is being audited back to 2003.

That’s a rather strange coincidence.

Would the IRS actually go after a cancer patient, who had voted for Obama initially, just for appearing on FOX and now being sharply critical of Obama and suggesting that he resign for his health plan lie?

Under the current insane state of affairs, where the IRS was used to silence the opposition, it’s unfortunately entirely possible. The fact that we are even having this discussion shows how badly Obama has undermined confidence in government institutions and the rule of law.

Americans always hated the IRS, but it’s been a while since they believed that the IRS was targeting them for their political views.

The United States desperately needs to restore the rule of law and confidence in its institutions otherwise we are facing a serious crisis in which Americans begin viewing government agencies as tools of political repression.

  • PDQuig

With a simple flat tax and a one page tax return form, 800,000 IRS fascists and millions of tax law parasites would go away. And it would unleash an amazing business re-florescence in the United States.

    Never happen.

    • 500_lb_Gorrila

There’s no political graft in a fair flat tax.

      • CptNerd

Exactly. And no need for lobbyists to push for tax breaks.

        • John Richter

You really think special interest groups won’t pour money into trying to get favorable exemptions and treatment? Remember when Cain introduced his 9-9-9 it was straight forward, and in a few months was filled with astericks, exemptions, reductions, etc?

          • Worship Dancer

with a simple flat tax there are NO exemptions.

  • 500_lb_Gorrila

The IRS has no credibility whatsoever and should be abolished and replaced with a simple and fair flat tax.

    • Turtles Run

To most of the people in the world you are rich, don’t forget.

        • Turtles Run

So we are not a third world country, whats your point? It does not change the regressive nature of a flat tax.

          • Pablo Descartes

We’ll be a third world country soon enough the way bathhouse barry is running the economy. As with the housing bubble, the quantitative easing will soon lead to hyperinflation and CRASH goes the economy. I’ll expect a glass of koolaid shortly…

      Oops. Nevermind.

  • John Richter

He probably would be better off in front of Obamas obamacare death squad, with a bullet in his head than not getting obummercare.

  • John Richter

Issa needs to call for an investigation, The IRS can only go back 3 years unless it is a huge case of fraud with possible criminal charges, then it is six. Either someone is lying or the IRS is ignoring the tax code as in 501c4′s cases.

    • ExRepug

There is no statute of limitation on fraud.

Also, the statute does not begin to run until a return has been filed, so it is possible that this guy is a non-filer.

  • Felina Flash

    He voted for Obama?….

Then he got EXACTLY WHAT HE DESERVES…

    • Turtles Run

Yes, better insurance. It is not Obama’s fault this guy was to lazy to research his options. BTW: the IRS cannot go back 10 years on tax audits on individuals. Seven is the max. More Fox BS.

      • http://www.theconservativevoices.com/ dmacleo

the 2003 to 2013 (10 yrs) audit is on the broker.

        that they can do.

        • Turtles Run

Yes, but that makes the retaliation story even more outlandish. The article makes it sound like the IRS is targeting the broker because he helped this person get insurance. It doesn’t even make sense.

      • Mac

Better insurance?… O good… he can get all the abortions he wants for free…

The IRS seems to have been given all kinds of new powers to use against conservatives & any “extremists”, huh?…

Just remember to keep your carbon footprint as small as possible, useful idiot, keep getting your kids aborted so we don’t have to stomach more twits like you.

        • Turtles Run

          Free abortions for men….YIPEE!!

      • Worship Dancer

wanna bet? i have a friend who has been audited back 15 years. irs INITIALLY goes back 7 years if they find something they go back 7 MORE years.

        • Turtles Run

It is 3 years and if they find substantial evidence of fraud (IE: misstating income by 20% or more) then they can go back further. Your friend is a tax cheat that is robbing from you and me.

          • Daniel Greenfield

He isn’t robbing from you unless you’re on welfare.

          • Turtles Run

If he isreceiving the same benefits such as safe drugs, safe airline routes, and good food with out paying his share then yes, he is a thief.

Something right-wingers do not understand is that civilization costs money. We cannot keep charging everything and expect our kids to foot the bill. This isn’t the Bush years with rising deficits.

          • Daniel Greenfield

Civilization doesn’t come from government. Government comes from civilization until it destroys it.

          • Turtles Run

Governments are what people use to run a civilized society. No civilization has ever existed without the need to govern society. Good or bad

The people within any civilization need to pay their fair share and Worship Dancer’s friend instead chose to not pay the share he owed.

Feel free to spin or go off topic all you want.

          • Daniel Greenfield

There is no single fair share amount. And while civilization finds government useful for some things. It is not government that makes civilization.

When government begins consuming civilization, it ceases to be a useful tool.

          • Worship Dancer

sorry it’s SEVEN YEARS. i know someone who works at the IRS – SEVEN YEARS.

      • chicagorefugee

“Better” insurance? You haven’t actually looked at the Obamacare policies, have you? Haven’t checked the outrageously high plan prices or looked at their anemic provider ‘networks’ which exclude the better doctors and hospitals? Oh, and since many of these policies have no out of network coverage, you’d better be reeealy careful when you travel outside your home county. Wouldn’t want to break you leg in the wrong place, now would you?

Check out those family deductibles too. Unlike current policies, they pay nothing for any individual family member until the entire family deductible is met. I expect some Obamacare policy holders are in for a very unpleasant surprise in ’14.

  • AmeriDan

Bullsh*t. this is why we have a constitution that limits the power of federal government. No matter who this man voted for, to have him suddenly fall into the sights of the IRS because he disagrees with that Harvard educated dunce in the White House is insane. And it demonstrates for all to see that the rule of law is gone in this country.

    • The_Magic_M

      > to have him suddenly fall into the sights of the IRS because he disagrees

“Post hoc, ergo propter hoc” fallacy.

      • AmeriDan

If it were only once, your logic would apply. But its not only once. There are hundreds of these stories. Ask Ben Carson about his audit. Ask the Tea Party groups.

At what point does the mounting evidence of the abuse of government coercion meet the criteria for directed, planned and illegal abuse of power ?

That is a choice each person must make. Obozo could learn a lesson from King George III about the trampling of rights under despotic rule. In the long run it pays poor dividends.

        • The_Magic_M

          > Ask Ben Carson about his audit.

Ben Carson is just as anecdotal as the guy in this article.

          > Ask the Tea Party groups.

Ask the liberal groups that also were audited. Besides, there is ample reason for auditing TP groups (who claimed tax exemption but were political groups anyway).

By your logic, any murderer who happened to be an Obama critic is automatically innocent because any indiction would necessarily be “silencing opponents”. Silly.

          • AmeriDan

Do you enjoy hiding behind that puny faux intellect gig ? Must be from an Ivy League skool.

We are not talking about the individuals ? We are talking about using the coercive power of government against individuals who disagree with the Tyrant-in-Chief, and doing so often and with predictabilty.

I’ll end with this….perhaps it rings a bell in that feeble cob-webbed mind of yours….

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotisim, it is their right, it is their duty to throw off such Government.”

          • AmeriDan

They were not auditing Tea Party groups. They were denying their routine applications. And the token number of liberal groups is clearly a sham for those with eyes to see.

You are not a logician. A two bit lawyer wannabe or a snake oil salesman maybe.

Remember…. “when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government.”

King George III and Obama are starting to look awfully similar.

          • chicagorefugee

So, the IRS Inspector General who found and reported that there was, indeed, political targeting was wrong?

  • Pope losing Hope

My fellow Americans, we have real problems here. This administration is going rouge of the constitution and does not have our best interest at heart. I am scared. He is purging military generals, the ACA sec 203 around page 476 commissioning a civilian military, he is buying up scary amounts of hollow point amo that is not internationally legal and NOT meant for target practice, and he is disarming citizens. All of this can be confirmed by re pitiable sources if you google it. Read this article too. http://www.forbes.com/sites/jimpowell/2012/04/29/obamas-plan-to-seize-control-of-our-economy-and-our-lives/

  • OldTaxman

The really scary part is that, under certain circumstances, the IRS can go back an indefinite number of years.

    • rivahmitch

… and the really scary part is that they get to determine when those circumstances apply.

  • joshuasweet

sounds about right. audit the Obamas investigate the political kickbacks going to friends and old college pals

So much for the 6 year limitation.

    • Worship Dancer

actually it’s only INITIALLY 7 years. if they find something in year 7 going back they then assume they will find more and go back ANOTHER 7 years.

  • ExRepug

The statute of limitations for audits is three years, so this guy’s claim is very suspicious. The statute expired for 2009 on April 15, 2013 UNLESS (1) he was a non-filer (the statute begins to run only when the return is filed) or (2) he committed fraud. The statute for 2003 expired in 2007.

So is this guy a liar, a tax fraud, or a non-filer?

    • dntmkmecomoverther

Beg to differ chief; the IRS can go back 7 yrs. Been there, done that.

      • Worship Dancer

i have a friend who has been audited every year for the last 15. he has all his records back that far.

      • rivahmitch

Yep… but that’s only for those of us who have a business.

  • daveveselenak

Your missing the point, he shouldn’t be audited at all and if we had an opposition party, the Muslim-Marxist would be impeached, regardless of the outcome; all his “high crimes and misdemeanors” would have to be exposed rather than covered up by the state-run media and perhaps the hapless sheeple, at least enough of them, would have an epiphany and see the light! • jrford

I dislike, very much, Obama and everything that he stands for, I read a story about this gentleman a month ago and something about the story just doesn’t seem right.

The story above is a condensed version, with lots of details left out. He said he was married and he is retired from his job, has children at home. I asked the following questions, no answers. What is his monthly pension amount, was his pension from a union job, what is his wife’s monthly gross from working, if he is disabled, why didn’t he file for SSI?

If he does not have any income, why did he not file for Medicaid?

I’m glad to see he is now receiving healthcare, but previously he said his premiums for just him was $1500 per month.

I’d like to hear more about his personal finances and situation before I make any judgement, he just has too many open ends.

Bur meanwhile, Obamacare should be repealed and Obama and his administration should be in prison for their crimes of treason.

    • Dee Lee

I’m with you. I want to find out more about him and his financial background. Unfortunately he did open up a can of worms. I would be willing to help ($$$$) if he truly qualifies. You brought up some good points to ponder.

“Cancer Patient Who Spoke Out Against ObamaCare Now Being Audited”

I’m confused here, why all the questions about his finances? The story is about govt retribution for speaking out.

      • jrford

I’m confused too, regarding this guy.

This is not his first interview on Fox. There was a video and article a week or two ago, with him. If you can find it or I find the link, will post it.

But what I’m referring to is he has a story about his experience having his healthcare insurance cancelled, while having cancer, signing up for Obamacare would cost him $1500 per month.

He doesn’t want to be a burden on his family, so he is not going to seek treatment and let things run it’s course.

The previous article left a lot of open ends on it and just didn’t sound right. Now he has come forward and stated that he is being audited and there is even less information.

I just want to read/hear the complete story, details, because both stories just don’t add up.

Living in WA state, my long time buddy hasn’t worked for 2 years, is healthy, got a letter from insurance company, went to the state exchange and got Medicaid at no cost for himself.

There is nobody that dislikes Obama more than he does and I’m right behind him, Obamacare should be repealed, but getting back to the article, it just doesn’t sound right, that’s all I’m saying.

  • chief1937

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Illegal Revenue Service has been doing this kind of thing for DECADES! Every few years the people get all excited, Congress gets all excited, Congress holds hearings, Congress chews out the IRS leadership, the IRS leadership goes all contrite and promises to make nice-nice in the future, and except for some feel-good hot air, CONGRESS DOES NOTHING. Any Congressman or Senator who makes a real effort to bring the IRS to heel will be audited and more than one has lost his position because of trumped-up charges that don’t amount to a hill of beans. The 16th Amendment was never ratified; the IRS was never established by law, and both need to be abolished.

  • Antogeny

A Z, I too, thought it was only necessary to keep IRS records for 7 years. Valerie Jarrett promised that they would punish their enemies after the last election, and that is what she & DumBO are doing. • ed_in_tx

Fair tax (national sales tax) turns the States into tax collectors for the Federal Government, further diminishing state sovereignty when it should be increased, not decreased. And, unless the 16th Amendment is repealed concurrently with implementing the Fair Tax, we could be hit with both a National Sales Tax and Income Tax. And, while it might eliminate the IRS, or most of it, it would do nothing to reduce spending. And the tax rate on things which our “leaders” decide are undesired (think large sodas) might suddenly have a higher tax rate than “healthy” items.

I really hate that, Bill Elliot is suffering this horrible disease, I do wish him the best of prayers in defeating his cancer…

Now, that said, Bill Elliot knew, he even voted for Obama twice, even after Obamacare was passed, he knew!

We all knew what Obama planned to do to destroy our Nation, he told us in no unmistakable terms what he was going to do…

Obama was adamantly clear of his intentions and we Conservatives and those who were not going to support him, were going to be left in the cold and targeted because we were critical of his agenda, We knew that and so did Bill Elliot yet he voted for Obama twice, a second time after the fact!

I’m sorry, but as far as Mr Elliot loosing his insurance, I will not allow myself to feel any sympathy towards him, I just will not when it comes to his loosing his insurance…

How many others who refused to vote for and support Obama has suffered the same fate who are not being picked up by passing by Insurance agencies sympathizing for them? How many of those will get insurance because Bill Elliot chose to ignore the obvious and vote for Obama twice?

How many of them dammit will suffer this indignity because of Bill Elliot choosing to turn a blind eye to the truth that many would loose their insurance under Obamacare because he thought it wouldn’t effect him!?

He’s damn awful lucky as I am concerned, he got picked back up, many others due to his callous decision, will not be so fortunate!

    Bill Elliot Knew!

    • ed_in_tx

I agree with the senitment, but do we know that he voted for Dear Leader twice, as you state? The article only states he voted for Dear Leader “initially”. Was that only 2008, or both 2008 and 2012? I don’t know the answer to that, but as you apparently do – let us know where you found the answer.

  • Rod

Note to GOP House Members: If this story is true and both Mr. Elliot and his agent, Mr. Tucker, are being audited by the IRS, first send investigators in to ascertain whether there’s any conceivable financial reason for those audits.

Assuming there is not, bring Impeachment proceeding against President Obama citing the obvious previous IRS abuse against GOP supporters, and his responsibility to oversee the agencies of the federal government, but relying solely on this instance of abuse (plus any others of similar nature that come to light, e.g., Dr. Carson’s for supporting evidence.)

Will the Impeachment succeed? Not likely. However, the House has a GOP majority and can send an Impeachment resolution to the Senate. While doing so, they’ll also get nearly every Democrat House member to register a vote against impeachment and, implicitly, in support of such IRS abuse.

Who knows? The very prospect of having to defend such an indefensible position might clear a few Democrat minds long enough to realize that President Obama simply has to be impeached.

Voters should be about as angry as they can possibly be over this sort of IRS abuse and, more important, of the failure of President Obama to bring it to an immediate halt, but most of them aren’t even aware it’s happening. Impeachment proceedings will ensure that everyone knows. Let’s get every Democrat legislator on record as being aware of the President’s abuse of power, and of their failure to call him to account for it.

Then let them run on their record…

    • The_Magic_M

      > Will the Impeachment succeed? Not likely. However, the House has a GOP majority and can send an Impeachment resolution to the Senate.

Did you flunk Constitution 101? The House impeaches, so that would succeed. The Senate *convicts*, that would not succeed.

Claiming the Senate impeaches is like claiming you talk out of your rear end. Then again…

    • The_Magic_M

      > Let’s get every Democrat legislator on record as being aware of the President’s abuse of power, and of their failure to call him to account for it.

Because that worked so well when Clinton was impeached but not convicted? The Dems swept the next election.

  • Snaps

If Obamacare isn’t overturned, this is only the beginning of government repression and persecution. The crooks in the IRS will be punishing anyone who complains about outrageous costs are refusal to allow treatment. There will be death panels, they’re the only way to make it “work.” In fact, they are already there. They have non-elected committees to decide on the “best” or “most effective” treatments and they can decide that the one you need doesn’t fit their definition.

  • simmss

You don’t have to be brilliant to see how Obama approaches and handles anyone who disagrees with him. How many Generals and Admirals has he fired? Obama should just tell our military to turn in their arms and give up. Unless Ethiopia or Zimbabwe plans on a surprise attack, then hang on to a few M-1 rifles. Imagine what Nixon was impeached for and look at this man.

    • The_Magic_M

      > Obama should just tell our military to turn in their arms and give up.
