Christie Bows to Gay Lobby, Outlaws Helping Children

It’s a smart political move by Christie since it keeps his liberal cred intact. Sure it victimizes kids and forces parents to send them for therapy out of state. But that’s not his problem.
Those kids are just collateral damage in Christie’s presidential campaign. When it comes to choosing between at risk kids and the gay lobby, the governor knows who has the cash.
First Christie announced that he believes people are born gay. It’s not clear what his qualifications to make that determination are.
A spokeswoman for Republican Gov. Chris Christie said Thursday that he “does not believe in conversion therapy” for homosexuals, but did not say whether the New Jersey governor plans to support a ban on the practice that’s under consideration by state lawmakers.
“There is no mistaking his point of view on this when you look at his own prior statements where he makes clear that people’s sexual orientation is determined at birth,” Maria Comella, his spokeswoman, said.
Is this really the role of government to be announcing that sexual orientation is determined at birth?
“I’m of two minds just on this stuff in general,” Christie was quoted by the Star-Ledger as saying at a press conference Wednesday. “Number one, I think there should be lots of deference given to parents on raising their children. I don’t – this is a general philosophy, not to his bill – generally philosophically, on bills that restrict parents’ ability to make decisions on how to care for their children, I’m generally a skeptic of those bills. Now, there can always be exceptions to those rules and this bill may be one of them.”
And the bill was one of them. Christie blew off parents and hugged the gay lobby to his chest, hoping some of those political donations will come his way.
In a signing note accompanying the bill that will be made public Monday, Christie said he believes people are born gay and that homosexuality is not a sin. That view is inconsistent with his Catholic faith, which teaches that homosexual acts are sins.
So Christie is now an expert on theology and biology.
The bill, which illegally interferes with the relationship between children, therapists and parents, because an identity group has ideological issues with the idea that homosexuality is a choice, was based on fraudulent testimony that a mentally ill drag queen got from a Ru Paul movie.
