Faith in Global Warming Hits 20 Year Low

Carbon pollution in action

Perhaps it’s because we’re in the middle of a cold snowy winter. Perhaps it’s because when people are freezing because green energy is too expensive and unreliable  to use to heat your home, they stop listening to Al Gore. Or perhaps it’s just the usual malaise of religion in the West.

Green Atheism. It’s a serious threat to the Church of Global Warming.

Public concern about environmental issues including climate change has slumped to a 20-year low since the financial crisis, a global study reveals.

Fewer people now consider issues such as CO2 emissions, air and water pollution, animal species loss, and water shortages to be “very serious” than at any time in the last two decades, according to the poll of 22,812 people in 22 countries including Britain and the US.

Despite years of studies showing the impact of global warming on the planet, only 49 per cent of people now consider climate change a very serious issue – far fewer than at the beginning of the worldwide financial crisis in 2009.

So what is responsible for the rise of this Green Atheism? Reasonable self-interest.

The GlobeScan survey found that water pollution is viewed as the most serious environment problem worldwide with 58 per cent of people polled saying it represents a very serious concern.

So people care about the types of pollution that make them sick. Not any of the Carbon pollution that comes from millions of people yawning in unison at more planet melting hysteria.

Green hysteria has pretty much run its course, at least within the mainstream public. However, in no small measure, globalist fatcats, plus Obama & surrogates, will never let it die a natural death – and this is no joke!

As a matter of record, the green scheme is part and parcel of their economic wrecking ball. And without said hysteria, it is impossible to disarm the public, their ultimate goal –

If you're hoping to deprogram any friends or loved ones who have been brainwashed by global warming dogma, one place to start is my quick-reading book on the subject that explains climate cycles in layman's terms:

  • liz

And every time you answer a global survey for the national labratory of sustainable eco marxists you give then the power to take a different angle of brainwashing and psyc ops….they get that free from your kids at school too, train them to opt out. I did.

In fact, "faith" in global warming is at an all time high. Most of those who are sceptical of anthropogenic climate change have accepted the reality of global warming. Why? Because there are excellent data that indicate that over the past century the Earth's surface temperature has risen by 1 degree C; and the most change has occurred since 1980.

You can easily check the reality of these measurements on the web.

In 1977 we were told that we'd be in a deep freeze by now. Of course back then, eggs were good for you. Now they're only good for you in months with "r"s in them.
Climate change, however, is very real. It's been very real for billions of years on this planet.

Perhaps smoking is good for you too. This is your choice: to ignore reasoned and rational scientific opinion or not.

10% more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere since 1998, no temperature increases. Yet that hasn't stopped them from declaring we need a carbon tax. /yawn

      • anor277

You are incorrect with respect to the temperature increase. Overall, 2005 was hotter than 1998. And 2010 was the hottest year on record. You either accept these data or you do not; the latter is hardly scientific. Try this website.

I'm glad there are people like you who can think for themselves and actually read peer reviewed journals when looking up data instead of listening to the propaganda matter of fact article as if it denotes what is actually happening.

  • Loyal Achates

This article might as well say 'Faith in gravity at a 20-year low'. In this twisted right-wing world EVERYTHING is ideology, and science means nothing.

    • kafir4life

Climate change is real. It's been real for billions of years. It has nothing to do with man. Unless you believe that the Bush/Chaney cabal sent the Mars rover to the red planet in fleets of Cadillac Escalades, then you may want to explain the corresponding temperature changes there (and on other planets). That being said, I pick up my trash. I was turning off lights and turning down my thermostat LONG before GoreAl made it popular. I kid you not, another moon beam liberal told me I was doing those things for the wrong reason!! Yep!! The moron actually SAID that!!

      • anor277

Hmm, temperature on Mars' surface, maybe -50 C; temperature on Venus' surface, maybe 500 C. Now both atmospheres are mainly carbon dioxide, but Mars' atmospheric pressure is less than 1 % of Earth's pressure, which in turn is approx 1% of Venus' pressure. (And pressure is proportional to the amount of gas – i.e. the atmosphere on Venus is very, very thick). Currently, more than 30 thousand million tonnes of carbon dioxide are being added to Earth's atmosphere annually. Incredulity that this known greenhouse gas could affect climate is likely unwarranted..

    Dear Daniel Greenfield,

Why don't you debate a Climate Scientist? Oh wait you're too afraid and you can't….

All you have are these smear tactics. I love how in every one of these articles you name drop Al Gore. As if that man has ever has written a peer reviewed journal on Climate Science. The majority of Americans believe Islam is just another religion too. What does that prove?

Conservatives are no better than liberals on buying into BS, whoring themselves out to agendas, and not thinking for themselves. Your articles on Climate Change are proof of this. I have nothing but respect for you when you write about Islam but your articles on Climate Change are disgusting and utterly irresponsible.

James Hansen and his colleges are a disgrace, trying to convince gullible people that severe cold weather is really global warming is just sick. Get a real job where you don't have to lie!

  • religion_for_plebs

Wait, what is it called when someone tries to sound smart by putting a bunch of quoted numbers in their writing piece but not one source for any of them?

  • @globalwarmingwe

I have come to the conclusion that we all have a little blame global warming and its consequences and guilt even more politicians who do not slow down.
