Gore Al Jazeera Sale Idea Came From Consultant Who Brought ChiCom Propaganda Channel to America

There are all sorts of problematic aspects to John Terenzio’s lawsuit against Al Gore [2] for being cut out of the Al Jazeera deal. But the most problematic one may be this…

Terenzio was instrumental in creating and launching CCTV International the English version of China Central Television (CCTV) and reprogramming the network to appeal to American audiences.

In or about late 2011, Terenzio convinced an idea for the distribution of an American version of Al Jazeera.

CCTV stands for China Central Television which is a state broadcaster run by China’s Communist government. Jiao Li, the former president of CCTV, was the vice minister of the Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China.

Its new president [3], Hu Zhanfan, ┬ácautioned journalists against placing the truth above Party loyalty, reminding them that news must always reflect “our party and country’s political stance.”

Terenzio’s calling card is that he was instrumental in arranging for the broadcasting of ChiCom propaganda in the United States and then came up with the idea for doing the same thing for Qatar’s Islamist tyrants.

CCTV’s entry to the American market [4] looked a lot like Al Jazeera’s entry. There was a lot of talk about covering stories that the American media didn’t want to while pretending that they weren’t a state run propaganda network.

Terenzio claims he offered a proposal to Diane Feinstein’s husband, a board member of Current TV, complete with Power Point proposal for selling Al Jazeera America to America based on “a step-by-step approach for making the sale of the liberal media outlet to Al Jazeera palatable to U.S. lawmakers, pro-Israel factions, cable operators and, most importantly, the American public.”

Having gotten one propaganda broadcaster from an enemy state into the United States, he had been hoping to cash in on doing the same dirty deed for Al Jazeera.

Now Terenzio is complaining that he was cheated out of his fee. But business among traitors and men without honor goes that way.

This lawsuit kills Al Gore’s claim that the Current TV sale was anything but a window into the United States for a state owned propaganda network. Not when the idea came from a man who specialized in doing just that.
