Hillary Clinton Supporters Slowly Realizing She Didn’t Do Anything as Secretary of State

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

hillary clinton what difference does it make

But that’s okay since Hillary Clinton also didn’t do anything in the Senate. It could actually be a good slogan for her campaign. “Vote for Hillary: She Won’t Do Anything as President Either.”

But some people close to Mrs. Clinton worry that, because of the high profile given to her work for women’s rights, and the headlines now being generated by the hyperkinetic Mr. Kerry, her efforts on trickier diplomatic situations have been eclipsed.

What exactly did Hillary Clinton do for women’s rights? I mean besides give speeches about it.

What about her 13 trips to Libya in 2011 to build the coalition that led to the ouster of Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, they ask. Why is no one talking about how she brokered a cease-fire in Gaza? Anyone remember that she furthered economic sanctions on North Korea?

Seriously?

Libya is on fire. Its cities are run by armed Islamist militias. Some of whom murdered 4 Americans in a diplomatic mission that Hillary and her staffers failed to provide security for while they were blowing millions on overpriced Kindles, art in embassies and a YouTube channel for Afghanistan.

Does anyone in her right mind want to give Hillary credit for Libya?

Negotiated a ceasefire in Gaza? You mean the one that consists of Hamas attacking Israel and Israel fighting back?

North Korea? The brutal Communist tyranny that keeps expanding its nuclear power base despite the useless sanctions?

In contrast, even when members of Mrs. Clinton’s own party describe her achievements, they tend to point to a lot of miles traveled (956,733 to be exact).

Her biggest chance to shape how she is viewed may be through her memoir, which is due out next summer. Dan Schwerin and Ethan Gelber, who both worked under Mrs. Clinton in the State Department, are assisting with the book.

The New York Times means they’re writing the book. Apparently it takes two people to write one Hillary memoir.

Former State Department officials say Mrs. Clinton and her advisers need to do a better job of highlighting how her work on women’s issues ties into national security efforts and the progress now underway.

Also they need to explain what she did on women’s issues.

“There’s a direct correlation between countries that pose direct threats to our national security and those where the mistreatment of half the population is a root cause,” said Philippe I. Reines, a longtime adviser who served as deputy assistant secretary of state. Mr. Reines said that while Mrs. Clinton often made this point, her team failed to articulate that connection publicly.

Yes, it’s called Islam.

That’s why you’re 1. Not articulating the connection 2. Doing anything about it.

He added that “people should not confuse the unique tools and attributes only she could bring to the job as a replacement for being a hard-core diplomat.”

Translated from Diplospeak… Hillary is a special unique sunflower. But she’s not a diplomat.

While at the State Department, Mrs. Clinton enjoyed generally positive media coverage and some of her highest approval ratings. She was often portrayed as a pantsuit-wearing globe-trotter, hitting the dance floor in Pretoria, South Africa, and partying in Cartagena, Colombia.

This is sadly an actual paragraph.

She took on the job at a time when the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan had given rise to widespread anti-Americanism abroad. In 2006, favorable opinions of the United States had fallen in most of the 15 countries surveyed, including France, Germany, Russia and Japan, according to the Pew Global Attitudes Project.

President Obama’s victory in 2008 and Mrs. Clinton’s frequent personal visits helped mend tensions, and by mid-2009 favorable opinions of the United States in Western Europe, Asia and Latin America were almost as high as before President George W. Bush took office.

And they dropped sharply before she left office. It’s called the Honeymoon Effect.

Whether the public will ultimately embrace that view of Mrs. Clinton’s role is unclear. But the fact that her supporters are eager to defend her tenure — and connect her work to Mr. Kerry’s — suggests a level of concern about her legacy should she decide to run for president in 2016.

Hillary supporters are actually so desperate and neurotic that they’re already trying to take credit for Kerry’s disastrous bungling.

But at least Kerry did something. Bad, bad things. But he did them. Still, what difference does it make?

“North Korea? The brutal Communist tyranny that keeps expanding its nuclear power base despite the useless sanctions?”

Giving North Korean Dictators basket balls autographed by Michael Jordan does build up the resume.

    Post Government
She founded the Albright Group, an international strategy consulting firm based in Washington, D.C

Albright serves on the CFR Board of directors

& on the International Advisory Committee of the Brookings Doha Center

In 2003, she accepted a position on the Board of Directors of the New York Stock Exchange

If Hillary only faces white males for the Democratic ticket she should clinch the the Democrat nomination.

Look how far Albright got adn she was not a Clinton.

    P.S.

Benghazi is not a problem. Look at Albright’s handling and he subsequent promotions.

Acording to several accounts, U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Prudence Bushnell repeatedly asked Washington for additional security at the embassy in Nairobi, including in an April 1998 letter directly to Albright. Bushnell was ignored

In “Against All Enemies,” Richard Clarke writes about an exchange with Albright several months after the US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bombed in August 1998. “What do you think will happen if you lose another embassy?” Clarke asked. “The Republicans in Congress will go after you.” “First of all, I didn’t lose these two embassies,” Albright shot back. “I inherited them in the shape they were.”

JAN 1997 – Appointed Secretary if State
    APR 1998 – Bushnell Letter
    AUG 1998 – Embassy Bombings

    20 months as Secretary
Warning letter form Ambassador was 3 or 4 months previous to the bombing. Yet, it does not stick to Madeline.

Yup, Hillary is a shoo-in for president.

    • A Z

I know for a fact that the U.S. Embassy in London had been built sometime previous to be hardened against car bombs.

It had concrete posts around it to stop cars from driving into the building. behind that was a dry moat to mitigate the force of a blast.

      So here is my point.

There are 195 or so countries around the world. So we have around 190 or so embassies. They prioritized hardening embassies obviously. That they hardened an embassy showed that they knew there was a threat. After all our embassy in Lebanon was car bombed in 1982/1983.

Short of rebuilding the embassy right away they could have done some other administrative or other fixes in the interim.

This was not a priority for them.

consider how Hillary will do if she runs against the former and hugely successful governor of Alaska. There goes the Dems strong card “the Repubs war on women”.Palin is a vastly smarter, more attractive and much more capable candidate than ole Mrs. Clinton.Palin brings youth and a serious record of accomplishment to the fight. Palin also has a whistle clean record and is beholden to no one. Can Hillary say the same? Just think about it.I believe that Sarah Palin can deliver a landslide.

      • A Z

I would like to see Palin run against Hillary.

The worst thing Democrats will say is that she resigned as governor. But the Democrats saw to that as they launch a suicide wave of lawsuits. She was not convicted of anything and yet there were dozens (if not hundreds of lawsuits?).

No “my friend”, John McCain, did not face so lawsuits like Sarah Palin, because the left knows he is not a serious threat.

Like Rush Limbaugh say” the left will let you know what they fear”. They feared the vice presidential candidate and not “reach across the isle” presidential candidate.

  • DogmaelJones1

Let us also not forget that scary time she flew to Bosnia and came under fire at the airport….no, wait, that was a fake event, too.

    • A Z

      Snipper fire is real.

If you are hit by a snipper, you will need a “corps”-man.

Just the way these people pronounce words show that they are familiar with the military and would make excellent Commander in Chiefs.

They are also very knowledgeable about foreign Affairs. Obama knows more about “Pok”-istan than anyone else.

      • DogmaelJones1

It was a “fake event,” all right, in case anyone doubts it. See the Daily Telegraph here:

        http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/1582795/Hillary-Clintons-Bosnia-sniper-story-exposed.html

        and The Washington Post here

        http://voices.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/2008/03/more_incoming_for_clinton.html

        • A Z

Hillary was not under sniper fire. She was under “snipper” fire. Since she defines what a snipper is, there is no way we can refute her assertion that she told the truth. Those snippers could be pink elephants with purple polka dots

If we were licensed psychiatrists, we could make a bundle.

English might be a hard language to learn, but the pronunciation of sniper is not one those things that make it hard. It is pretty obvious as to how to pronounce it.

Just making fun of the way Democrat Presidents and presidential contenders pronounce things. They hare supposedly the smartest people (just ask them and the press) in the room and the only way to stay sane is to ridicule them.

Also I have to hit them on their pronunciation and other verbal gaffes since the gave Quayle such a hard time.

They started it, we’ll finish it at the ballot box.

          • Picachu1

So when you are completely wrong about something you relegate to correcting other people’s spelling;thanks computer for your dragon texts which causes correctly spelled words to be mis-spelled. This is a tactic of the left;be above that.
As for your assertion that it may have happened: the context was made by her and contradicted; at which point she corrected her former statements. So sir, you are completely wrong; I quick search on the Internet should suffice in telling you how wrong you were.

I remember Clinton when her husband was in charge, they hate the military with a passion and it hasn’t changed under this abomination in office.

        • A Z

Not only do they hate the military but they are clueless about it.

The Marines disrespected Clinton for much of his Presidency when he took Marine 1 and he never caught on.

but I do not blame them for this breach of etiquette not after the Clintons used officers as waiters. The Snopes people disagree. The left is still at it

          • tucker1

Maybe this is why, again, the military did not receive absentee ballots in time to vote!!Liberals know they tend to vote conservative!!

        • TexasOlTimer

She insisted that the military in the White House not be in uniform. This was a huge insult as being involved in security for the White House is an honor.

        • frankenbiker

Not only did the Clintons hate the military, they also thought the secret service was their personal slaves, instead of body guards. They showed no respect to anyone around them, white house servents, were treated like dirt, the Secret Service, treated like dirt. What makes anyone think this bitch won’t treat Americans like that if she wins the white house?

      • Rational_Db8

Come, come now! Hillary accomplished a lot! After all, she managed to hand the “reset button” prop to the Russian Foreign Minister. Only it read “Overcharged” instead of “Reset.” Oops.

        VIDEO: Wrong red button

      • Picachu1

Except it never happened. Sinbad, the comedian, contradicted her statement(as he was with her). After he contradicted her statements she then said oh, ummm, I misspoke. Sniper fire is real but it was never close to her. These people have set the Middle East on fire with their policies. They have systematically destabilized governments that used to be our allies and replaced them with Muslim brotherhood. Yea they may know a lot about the Middle East that’s how they knew how to destroy our allies there and put the Muslims who hate America and Americans.

        • A Z

So she never said snipper. So what. I won’t say she did. Her lies or ignorance were even bigger. Aircraft generally corkscrew to doge anti-aircraft fire. They don’t call it sniper fire generally.

I remember a college prof criticizing Dan Quale over Murphy Brown. All in all he was a good prof and that was his one political comment.

Still it stings. Quayle was right. Whenever a national level Democrat makes such a mistake, it will be noted.

And of course she was named in tribute to Sir Edmund Hillary by her prophetic parents, in advance knowledge of the fact that her then-unknown namesake would become famous 6 years after her birth for climbing Mt. Everest.

Hillary’s tenure at State has been a disaster. She lost Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Yemen, green lighting the Caliphate. She cut and ran in Iraq and Afghanistan and left Americans to die in Benghazi. Iranian warships operate in the Mediterranean and transit the Suez Canal as the Iranians are building bases in Venezuela. Iran will soon join the nuclear club. All the while, Russia and China are building their militaries and threatening American interests abroad without US opposition. North Korea has an ICBM capable of reaching California.

Syria is ablaze in a civil war that will result in either a strengthened Assad regime or an al Qaeda state either of which pledge to destroy Israel. Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf States will be surrounded by radical islamist states who plan to ruin the West with another oil embargo.

    Heck of a job, Hillary!

What about all the good she did? She laid down the foundation that has lead to military cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Israel!

Wasn’t Hillary the inevitable nominee in 2008? I’ll enjoy seeing some other dark horse affirmative action candidate emerge to knock her off her pedestal again. “Whether the public will ultimately embrace that view of Mrs. Clinton’s role is unclear.”

Whether the sentient will ultimately embrace the view of Mrs. Clinton, however, is not in dispute.

Also: “what difference does it make?”

I believe the exact quote is more like “what difference, at this point, does it make?” Hillary needs to have that exact quote hung around her neck like a millstone, and the surrounding contemporary facts elucidated at great length publicly and loudly. This woman CANNOT become the next president of the United States. The sanity of millions hangs in the balance, especially after 8 years of not really having a president at all to speak of.

  • Kansas_City

Someone below made the comment that Obama had accomplished nothing and was elected president. Is the analogy to Hillary correct? It is true that she has accomplished virtually nothing. But she has been in high profile positions where she was supposed to accomplish something, so it is a different “trick” to get her elected. They have to pretend she accomplished something and the press has to go along with the deception. It will take a competent Republican party to properly focus on the issue and nominate a successful governor who can make a credible claim that he/she accomplished something as governor. One reason Obama was able to succeed in 2008 was that McCain was a good man, but he bascilly had never accomplished anything in his political career.
Hillary’s dumb “what difference does it make” comment will be pretty harmful to her. However, the oddity of the statement is that she apparently immediately recognized how stupid it was to blurt out her honest view and she went on to say exactly the opposite about how we needed to figure out what happened and make sure it did not happen again. Odd stuff.

I liked Ike! His election was the first one I was old enough to be aware of. Almost everyone liked Ike because he was a war hero. He commanded the Allied armies in the Crusade that liberated Europe. I think Hillary supporters should make a campaign button for her, too, that says “I like Hillary! But, what difference does it make?” Ironically, Ike became known for his laizze faire attitude towards government. He did as little as possible, but he didn’t need to much of anything. One thing he did do, was start work on the US Autobahn, our Interstate highways, for military strategic reasons, which had the side effect of aiding the economy. The economy florished, because the government didn’t interfere with it, and government was small, so taxes, and spending, were low. If Hillary were elected, she would do little too, because government is already huge, and taxes and spending are out of control, thanks to Obama, and she would not want to reverse his “accomplishments”. We need a President that can, and will, do all he can to reverse the damage done by Obama’s terms, as well as the damage done by the Progressives over the last 100 years.

How can anyone write such an article and forget to mention that Hillary is personally corrupt, and everyone knows it? In addition to her pre-first-lady $100,000 commodities payoff, she and Bill disgraced themselves on the way out of the White House. Her husband bought her Senate seat in part with the pardons of 16 Puerto Rican terrorists, as well as of Hasidic community leaders who had embezzled $30 million from the U.S. government. Other Bill Clinton pardons just happened to have been preceded by hundred-thousand dollar payments to two of Ms. Clinton’s brothers; and $100,000 to Ms. Clinton’s Senate campaign and a million dollars to the Democratic party came from Marc Rich, a man who, far from having paid his debt to society, had fled to and stayed in Europe prior to his unusual pardon. (But don’t worry, Eric Holder was OK with it.) Hillary Clinton is a crook, and belongs nowhere near the levers of power.

Hillary Clinton Supporters Slowly Realizing She Didn’t Do Anything Positive as Secretary of State

  • Flintoid

I’ve been saying this for months. Hillary had a four-year, around the world vacation paid for by taxpayers. She accomplished absolutely nothing during her tenure. At least, nothing constructive.

    • LouAnnWatson

she swilled beer while dancing with women in a bar in argentina

Well at least she was named for the famous Edmund Hillary….no wait.

I notice the last sentence of any given piece on Hillary is already written, now canon.

it’s what hillary didn’t do that is the most striking part of her tenure…video at 11

It’s okay though, because she really didn’t do anything much at Rose Law either. Consider this this from The New Republic (The New Republic !!):

“Although Rodham Clinton was a litigator–that is, a lawyer whose task is
to appear in court, if only to force the other side to settle– and an
attorney who was named one of the 100 most influential in the country by
the National Law Journal in 1988 and 1991, she was almost never seen in
the courtrooms of Little Rock; some court reporters remember an
occasional appearance, and one could not remember having seen her at
all. According to a search conducted by American Lawyer, she tried just
five cases during her fifteen years at Rose; other published sources say
her work revolved around copyright infringement cases involving
    songwriters and bread companies.”

My surmise is that her Rose Law position was a payoff to her hubby the Governor.

(The name of the article was “The Name of the Rose.” It appeared in the April 4, 1994, issue.)

What difference at this point does it make?

Does it ever end? Can we discuss the 47 individuals that find themselves worm food in the wake of the Clinton’s political rise? Let’s talk TRUTH here when it comes to these people we call politicians.

This move to run in 2016 just amazes me. But there are people that will support her and that scares me!

Just check out the TRUTH of the 47 and still counting individuals that the Clinton;s have left behind in their political rise! AND NEVER FORGET! These were just people like YOU and I!
    Today, they are DEAD!

  • Don

What did she do as Secretary of State? She aided and abetted the death of Americans in Benghazi..did nothing to prevent it or save them and as a true Clinton told lies under oath to cover it up.
The Clintons are even better liars than Obama and like Cancer – they keep coming back

We could win it all in 2014 and 2016. Problem is, Boehner, McConnell and all the other GOP establishment losers that park their fat butts in office for 30-40 years and do nothing but collect huge paychecks and gorgeous benefit packages, that they have voted in for themselves.

There are people that want to do something. Rand Paul, Trey Gowdy, Col. Allen West, Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin just to name a few. But instead of the GOP embracing the Constitutional beliefs and values that these people are fighting for, they are trying to burn them at the stake! It is a GOP sanctioned witch hunt. The left doesn’t need to do ANYTHING while these boobs fight amongst themselves and cannot produce one single thought of clarity between them all!

You can be sure there will be screams of denial and voter fraud if we win seats. They will DEMAND a recount. I’m sure that they will also want to initiate voter ID as well if we start taking a lead in months to come.

The government has over played it’s hand. It is too big, too intrusive, too closed minded. They are all for the illegals (of any color or creed), muslim rights, socialist appointee’s. They are anti-Christian, anti-American, pro-shariah law and against everything that this great nation was founded on.

Now that dirty harry reid has done away with the filibuster and initiated a simple majority in the senate, they have the power to appoint ANYONE they with to the supreme courts or any other office they want without opposition. Wasn’t it senator Obobo and dirty reid that said doing away with the filibuster and initiating a simple majority vote was “unpatriotic”, anti-American? Hmmm, I guess it just didn’t fit their agenda at the time.

So, to answer the question about Billary, in three words, OH HELL NO! Just looking at her lesbian leather face turns my stomach. And her muslim brotherhood adviser. Hillary is a coward and a skunk in the highest order! I have other choice words, but they won’t let me say them here.

I’m changing to independent and voting tea party. The GOP will NOT get a dime from me as long as they fight against America.

Y’all know the sheeple will fall inline. The dems seldom have more than a 30 second sound bite, as that is the attention span of their supporters!!!
