There is a much bigger problem here. We on the right and those on the left have been more focused on getting our own ideas implemented than we have been on process.

Let's look at this. We are the one's who wanted a ban on partial birth abortion, we are the one's who insist on a set of draconian drug laws that have no real basis in our constitution (we use the state commerce clauses as an excuse to implement the drug laws), we are the ones who pushed for "no child left behind" and we are the one's who set up the TSA. We have practically paved the road for this current disaster.

Every one of these laws seem sound, and I have personally supported all of them, and for that I am deeply regretful. Because by implementing these good intentions we have made a joke of the process of the Constitution.

The Constitution is there to act as a limit on the power of government. This limit is there even for "good laws". Because a tyrant who does good one day can easily do evil the next, and that is what we are looking at right now. An out of control child who does what he wants, because just yesterday the "good man" did what he wanted without regard to the law.

What the media organs are currently doing is evil, not because Hillary Clinton is a feckless sociopath and traitor (which she is). It is evil because we MUST NOT DEIFY OUR POLITICIANS. We have checks on our politicians because they ARE HUMAN AND HUMANS ARE FALLIBLE. This has been forgotten. We are the ones who have opened the door to this behavior. The leftists are simply taking advantage of our own irresponsibility.

The Bill of Rights are not "suggestions". They are an agreement that we have bound each other to. We cannot throw out the clauses regarding illegal search and seizure because we feel the situation demands it at the moment, we cannot throw out clauses regarding freedom of expression because we don't like the filthy hippy calling for a totalitarian slave state. That is how children act. We have to be adults, we have forgotten how to be adults.

When the filthy hippy organizes and speaks, it is our job to remind each other why the filthy hippy is wrong. When the inner city residents smoke crack, it's time to take away the welfare checks. When the police cannot deal with the crime it's time to loosen up the illegal restrictions on weapons. When women find themselves abused in the bars and nightclubs we have to remind them that they have a responsibility to take care of themselves too. When our youth start doing alcohol and drugs it's time to ask ourselves whether we've been giving them the healthy philosophy, discipline and direction, real thoughtful direction, they need.

Maybe we've failed. Maybe we haven't been teaching the right things. Maybe our own ideas are just too empty. Maybe we have to start facing that and asking ourselves some very hard and unpleasant questions.

Our problem is much deeper than the evil leftists. I didn't put "evil leftists" in quotes because I honestly do regard them as evil. Our problem is that we have been faithless towards our collective agreements, we have been faithless towards the Constitution, we have been faithless towards God (yes, I mean that).

Faith in God is not about getting a magical pony if we wish for it hard enough. It is about trusting our guide and Creator to make things right in the end if we work honestly and openly. Have we done that? How many times do we get to violate our Constitutional agreements before it becomes clear that we are using that document as an excuse to impose our will, rather than as a set of bindings we have imposed on ourselves as a group?

I regard partial birth abortion as flat out murder. I also regard murder as an issue under the authority of the individual States. So why did I support it on the Federal level? I regard education as critical, but I regard it as a local matter. Why did I support taking money from taxpayers to implement a plan they may not locally approve of?

We have to take a moment of pause here. We have to realize that we have collectively lost our way. We have to remember that we have a way, and it was a way that worked very well. We have to reread the Constitution, reread the Bill of Rights. We have to move ourselves back to that guide that we agreed to abide by so long ago.

Or we can continue this nonsense and say that men cannot be responsible for their own destiny. I say otherwise.
