Jon Stewart Outraged at Megyn Kelly Using his “Clown Nose” Defense

Is Jon Stewart an obnoxious liberal pretending to be a comedian… or a comedian pretending to be an obnoxious liberal?

That’s the great clown nose dilemma. Stewart wants to be taken seriously, except when he’s taken seriously in a bad way… and then he was only joking. The clown nose goes on and then off again.

So when Jon Stewart decided to object to Megyn Kelly’s statement that she was joking about Santa being white, the master of the clown nose commentary seemed upset.

“Humor is what we try to bring to this show,” Kelly said, “but that’s lost on the humorless.”

“What appeared to me to be another example of a Fox News segment expressing anger and victimization over the loss of absolute power and reframing that as persecution of ‘real America’ by minorities, freeloaders, and socialists…What I thought was that was a jest, a jape, a bit of wise-crackery,” Jon Stewart said. “I guess we all owe you an apology.”

The Daily Show is just another example of liberals expressing anger and victimization at anything that offends them. So Stewart ought to know how it works. His stock in trade is pushing the left’s agenda with humor. Sometimes he plays “Fair and Balanced” by taking cracks at the left. Mostly he pushes the left and attacks the right. It’s his job.

What’s the difference between a joke and the news? Not much when both have an agenda. There really is no difference whether the clown nose is on or off. except that when it’s on, you aren’t supposed to get offended or react with outrage. It’s all in good fun.

Jon Stewart has spent a long time hiding behind the clown nose. It’s hypocritical for him to complain about anything else doing the same thing.

At the end of this article, the author points out that Stewart should see his argument as hypocritical. The problem is that Stewart, along with every other progressive, has no conscience, hence, hypocrisy means nothing to them.
He is angry and seeks to justify his harangue about a fictional character by hurling personal attacks and insults. This, along with other artifices, learned from Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals.

    • Daniel Greenfield

Aside from having no conscience, Stewart also has no intellectual integrity and would be unable to recognize hypocrisy.

But I don’t expect him to recognize anything.

In a very real sense, liberals have no sense of right vs wrong – that’s why they always say that there is no difference between abortion (of the innocent) and capital punishment (of the guilty). It’s a genuine defect that they have, lack of moral character.

A lot of these idiots can justify anything by imagining themselves playing some important role being antagonistic to the enemy. That’s all that matters to them.

First of all, in support of Megyn Kelly’s humorous contention that Santa Claus is white, Christmas and St. Nick go back centuries – European centuries – practically back to Druid days. So, by default, he’s “white.” Secondly, that bogus “black” Christma, Kwanzaa, is just that, bogus, invented in 1966 by a black American separatist, Ron Karenga — aka Dr.. Maulana Karenga. See

She said it in response to an article stating Santa Clause is racist, in a segment late in the show which mocked the lack of Christmas spirit in current news, like shoppers fighting one another.

Coincidentally every leftist goes ape-**** right after Media Matters said they will start targeting her.

      • DogmaelJones1

Yes, she said it in response to Alisha Harris’s article, also covered by Greenfield on Frontpage.

      • truebearing

It’s no wonder Media Mattress is all over this Santa thing given David Brock’s love of “snow.” He’s been asking Santa for more snow for years, and never gets enough.

at the end of the day who gives sxxt? is only a holiday. santa can be what ever you want to to be. its still a good sign that our nation is so fat so safe that this is even a topic of conversation. btw, interesting to note: dec.12th is virgin of guadaloup day. she is a light skinned black w/kind of eithiopeon features. there are photos, stickers, cards all over mexico. for the last several yrs, the virgins skin has gotton lighter, then they gave her a nose job. standard hollywood nose. its a non issue there.

Liberals get outraged over the craziest things. Was he outraged when Bashir proposed that Palin’s mouth be used as a toilet? How about when ed schulz called Laura Engraham a slvt?

  • tanstaafl

    Hoisted by his own petard…..

  • antioli

Seems like Stewart can dish out a joke but can’t take one.

  • truebearing

Why is Stewart, and the Left in general, conducting a war on facts? Is he disputing that Santa Claus is white? Why does he have a problem with Santa’s skin color or the traditions of Europeans?

Stewart, like all liberal comics, thinks he is innoculated from being bigoted, racist, dishonest, hypocritical — or any of the rest of the faults so common in liberals –because he is supposedly being funny and is politically righteous. It is a tautological self-deception that prevents him from seeing the beam in his own eye. That he frequently isn’t funny and is monumentally self-righteous is completely lost on him.

    • objectivefactsmatter

“Why is Stewart, and the Left in general, conducting a war on facts?”

Because the facts point away from their conclusions. Facts argue against the need for revolution or “transformation.”

Facts interfere with progress. In their minds. And I’m not joking. How can you visualize world peace successfully if you’re hung up on the facts of history? It’s counter-productive to feel constrained by facts.

  • objectivefactsmatter

That’s the benefit of preaching to the choir. Stewart will always get the positive feedback he craves from mindless leftist audiences.

  • DrLarry

Excellent article. I agree with the article and the other commentators that the liberals have no morals and that they’re hypocrits, but that’s nothing new. The real problem for this country isn’t that they act like the disgusting liars that they are. The real threat is the people have lost the ability to distinguish between news and entertainment, between facts and fabrication, and between a humorous insight and laughable propaganda. Many people believe that Stewart and other leftists clowns actually are presenting news as fact instead of using news as a basis for comedy.

  • objectivefactsmatter

“What appeared to me to be another example of a Fox News segment expressing anger and victimization over the loss of absolute power…”

Sure. Absolute power. Sure. What an idjit.

  • Andy_Lewis

I dunno…when I go shopping, most of the Santas are black. Just sayin’…

  • Carolyn Good

I find Jon Stewart very witty. I like him but not his potty mouth which they bleep out. No one likes to be made fun of and he does give it to the Republicans quite often. Usually justified too.
