Journal News Gun Map Leads to More Stolen Guns

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

Don’t think of this as accidental. It’s deliberate. The left specializes in causing chaos that benefits them either way. Putting up a map of gun owners is a win-win scenario. If a break-in happens, then they can use that to show that legal guns can easily be stolen. Even if the break-in only happened because of their own stunt.

Two handguns and two pistol permits were stolen from the New City home of a man whose name and address are listed on the website of a local newspaper as possessing gun permits, police said.

The thieves ransacked the house Wednesday night, breaking into two safes on the home’s third floor and stealing a third safe. The guns were in the stolen safe, police said.

The burglary comes less than a week after a White Plains homeowner who, too, was listed on the Journal News website as having gun permits, arrived home to find his home burglarized with jewelry missing and an attempted break-in of his gun safe. The thieves were not successful and no guns were stolen.

The newspaper has not responded to numerous calls for comment.

The head of the White Plains Police Benevolent Association, Robert Riley, has been one of the fiercest critics of the Journal News map, saying it puts the lives of police and ordinary citizens in potential danger.

But then again putting people’s lives in danger is the whole point of gun control.

So, why don't all the exposed gun owners in this area get together and file a reckless endangerment suit against the damned paper? I'm sure a lawyer can think up a few other juicy felonies, as well.

Thank you Journal News and the Westchester County Executive for listing us retired police officers and our addresses. Our families also thank you. The recent incidents of gun violence is horrible. I have 2 grandchildren in the age group of the Newtown, CT children who were slaughtered and I would give my life for them but "knee jerk" reaction is not the answer. Hopefully my house will not be the target of someone in need of a gun to commit a robbery or something worse.

These guys that own guns in new york that were outed, should all get dogs. Rottweilers, Dobermans, Pit Bulls, something. Either that or never leave the house, again, ever.

And that, Mary Sue, is terrorism winning.

This reminds me of what someone on another thread was saying about the symbiotic relationship between the gangs and the democrat partymsm/left. This could be a case of msm marking their political enemy targets, the gangs use the info loot them, and it advances the dp politicians and their agendas. There doesn't need to be active collusion, just playing on nature and probability.

Find a hacker, then get the hacker to post child pornography on their computers then make some anonymous phone calls and let the system do the rest!

Terrorism and dirty tricks is a two way street!

That's a good idea Chad Ritchie! Jarhead1982 is a former Marine intelligence officer who participated in the battle of Fallujah and is described in print as "soft-spoken". He lives in Virgina and suckles off the government teat that funds the military industrial complex by being employed at Dynamic Aviation. He also trolls the comment sections of newspapers across the country with his flawed message that more guns = less crime. I found this information on the internet in 10 minutes Chad, you might want to be a little more careful in your public persona from now on, especially when your advising people to perform illegal acts. At the very least you might want to try a different screen name…(and please no harm or threat is implied, take this as a learning opportunity to realize your identity on the internet is pretty easily penetrated)

Wow, and that is all you can come up with?

Stating how one commits a dirty trick versus inciting a specific person is a difference that even a freshman lawyer wouldn't try to pursue, in fact revealing the limited intelelct behind your position yet again!

Your really slipping there miss sunshine, not even close, ROTFLMFAO, ROTFLMFAO, although being a Marine, and spanking intellectually challenged antis is true.

Then again promoting the ursurping of the BOR & the constitution as you perpetually do is a criminal act related to treason so you need to be careful on what crimes you promote. In fact you sure write like a spoiled little entitlement sociopathic little girl from the Tampa area of Florida, hmmm, lets do some digging and see!
