Left Hijacks Violence Against Women Act for Gay Rights Agenda

If you tune in to MSNBC, morning, noon or night, you’ll probably find a commentator gasping down the feed of teleprompter outrage over the latest horrible thing that the Republicans have done.

Coming up tomorrow will be outrage over VAWA, which is not a Canadian coffee and donut shop, but the Violence Against Women Act.

The House has modified the Senate version in ways that makes it less insane. What’s wrong with the Violence Against Women Act? The left insisted on hijacking VAWA to promote their crazy tranny agenda. And the left is busy whining that VAWA strips away LGBT protections, which is Leftist for, the Violence Against Women Act now only protects women, rather than men wearing dresses.

Technically it doesn’t even do that. What it doesn’t do is feed a pile of money for preventing domestic violence to gay rights groups. Naturally gay rights groups are upset at not getting access to a giant pile of money meant to stop violence against women, which largely takes place in heterosexual relationships.

VAWA is 288 pages, which is already much too long, because it’s swollen by all sorts of cynical money grabs like that by leftist agenda groups.

You can tell that something is wrong when you run into a paragraph like this. “(1) in section 2001(a) (42 U.S.C. 3796gg(a)),  by striking ‘‘violent crimes against women’’ each place it appears and inserting ‘‘violent crimes that predominantly affect women including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking’.”

So a grant program to fund attempts to stop violence against women becomes a program to stop violence predominantly affecting women. And yet the act keeps its old name. It doesn’t become the Stop Violence Predominantly Affecting Women Act.

And on top of that there’s not enough of a tribal provision or the wrong kind of tribal provision or a tribal provision that is not the kind of tribal provision that the many Indians of Capitol Hill feel that an act aimed at fighting violence against women needs.

The ridiculous identity politics of the left can’t take a break even when dealing with domestic violence. Instead VAWA has to be sectioned up in a million ways for the benefit of every identity group, including Hawaiian islanders (yes that’s there in the 288 pages).

Senator Leahy (D-Time Warner) denounced the House version for not including enough gay stuff by claiming that it “will not provide critical protections for rape victims, domestic violence victims, human trafficking victims, students on campuses, or stalking victims.”

Naturally he didn’t go into any details, because possibly the women of America will not be as outraged as Senator Time Warner by a Republican failure to let gay rights groups pig out on money meant to stop violence against women.

While Democratic leaders scream, “Protect women from violence”, what they actually mean is, “Take money meant to protect women from violence and give it to Trannies.”

There’s your War on Women.

" ……by striking ‘‘violent crimes against women’’ each place it appears and inserting ‘‘violent crimes that predominantly affect women including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking’.”"
So which one of the above are you personally having a problem with and perhaps find acceptable,…or is one of the above like a REAL rape and a woman has the ability to shut down and deal with that?

    • Daniel Greenfield

I think a Violence Against Women Act should specify violent crimes against women.

There is no polite way to say this, but the left has gone mental. Off the rails. But it is also not for nothing. Why? Because the revolutionary left is bent on deconstructing the family. The best way to do this is to destroy any separation between the genders, hence, the new "victim" of choice – other than those being tarred as "Islamophobes", but who really hate gays more than Islamists, but I digress – are gender benders.

Now, when one considers the reality, of who the Dems have placed in charge of educating the kiddies (through their teacher's unions), one gets into their heads – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/12/25/domestic-terr

    • Mary Sue

It's not only bent on deconstructing the family but also on deconstructing gender!

Ironically, radfems (who are thought of as scum by those who are sympathetic to the plights of transsexuals) don't accept male to female gender changers as women, but as men (and as heterosexual men if they date women after the sex change).

Violence against people who are screwed up in the head so badly that they think they're the opposite gender (or some other phantom imaginary gender that is allegedly neither male nor female) is actually a problem, but nowhere near to the extent of violence against women. While I don't think anyone is arguing for the right to go beat up a "tranny", neither will pouring money into organizations sympathetic to their plight do much to stop violence against them. It's just a shakedown of the taxpayers, plain and simple.

If you want a good laugh, google radical feminism Cathy Brennan and trans. You'd think you were listening to a "right wing religious" person argue about what trans women (male to female) actually are.

      • Seatnai

Transgender women really are women. Conversely, Transgender men live with the same physical anomaly and resultant emotional scarring. Being Trans is not a decision to cavort about in clothing of the opposite gender for a thrill. Being Trans is living the agony of living trapped in a body that transformed into the wrong physical sex by the dictates of a hormonal process that went terribly wrong early in fetal development.

Both the mental health and medical health communities have done extensive research into Transgender issues and have consequently changed their views on what it means to be Transgender based on those findings. In both cases, the findings were subjected to the same rigorous peer review process as any other issue under consideration by members of a science based body.

Members of the religious community read passages in the bible that they really do not understand and misapply that misunderstanding to a subject of scientific endeavor that is obviously beyond the meager resources of their collective intellects. Doing this, they repeat the essentially the same mistakes that once led the religious community to believe that the earth was the center of the universe, and that all of the stars revolved around it, that the earth was in fact flat, and it was possible to fall off the edge, or that a falible man can be made infalible by kissing a ring and putting on a funny looking pointed hat.

While religion certainly has its place, scientific reason can not be expected to ignore the facts in favor of the whims of superstitious belief. All religion is superstition. Religious belief can not be quantified or measured. Whatever the results of a "religious experience" are, they can not be reliably replicated at a different time and place by other believers in a different location, even if their make every effort to duplicate the circumstances exactly. Thus religion remains a subjective experience with no objectivity at all.

Scientific reason has clearly demonstrated that Transgender people are in point of fact born the way they are. Gender identity has been identified as being seated in the brain, not in the recesses of those embarrassing shadowy places up between our legs. Science has even gone so far as to prove beyond any scientific doubt that the sexual organs from in those otherwise shadowy regions can and have developed in opposition to the true gender identity of the person in question.
        http://media01.commpartners.com/AMA/sexual_identi

Transgender people are NOT screwed up in the head, not nearly as bad as conservatives have become by the twisted teachings that they choose to follow, anyway. Trans folk are emotionally damaged by the abuse from the narrow minded, ignorance of the hard core conservative christian community and their unloving, uncaring, non-accepting, in-compassionate, willfully ignorant nature.

        • Daniel Greenfield

A man is a man and a woman is a woman. Men and women with mental disorders are men and women with mental disorders.

Calling yourself transgender and practicing medical self-mutilation does not change gender.

          • Seatnai

From what from gather your rather limited reply is that you did not view the link I posted in my remark. Instead, you appear to have parroted the misinformed opinion of some bible thumper, rather than accepting actual scientific evidence in this debate. Typical.

          • Mary Sue

The scientific evidence in question does NOT actually rule out it being a mental disorder.

        • Mary Sue

I'm not saying they're doing it for fun. I'm saying they are doing it because they are f***ed in the head.

YES THEY ARE SCREWED UP IN THE HEAD. Because they think they're not what they are! They're even more screwed up than Furries, Otherkin, and that "F___ You I'm A Dragon" guy.

Trans folk shouldn't be abused but many of them became trans because of abuse (ie, women wanting to be men so they can fight back against their abusers, though some may deny this is the case).

          • Jayne K.

You cannot express yourself without an f-bomb. Did you not attend university? Why would anyone accept your opinion if it has to be packaged in such vulgar wrapping? In future, please refrain from that sort of language, thank you.

          • Viet Vet

Stick it where the sun won't shine, the perversion and baseness of the left is where vulgarity resides. This topic is vulgar.

          • Daniel Greenfield

Your role playing as a woman is underwhelming. Please stop.

          • Jayne K.

Why don't you stop role-playing as a journalist?

          • Mary Sue

Yeah I attended University. Some of the most foul mouthed people I know have Masters and Doctorate degrees.

          • Jayne K.

Bob Jones University doesn't count, sorry.

        • Mary Sue

Living in a body that's the wrong physical sex? Um sorry that's the most unscentific claptrap I've ever heard. There is no such thing as the "wrong body". Hormones HAVE been known, in imbalances, to cause MENTAL DISORDERS, however.

"HORMONEZ DID IT" DOES NOT MAKE IT NOT A MENTAL DISORDER.

        • objectivefactsmatter

"Being Trans is living the agony of living trapped in a body that transformed into the wrong physical sex by the dictates of a hormonal process that went terribly wrong early in fetal development"

Here's the problem with that. It's fetal development that determines gender. If you've got genitals like most of us, you're either male or female. The psychological component comes from culture. It's probably in most cases bad parenting or some event or events that the subject just can't understand.

The rest is psychobabble and that is what hurts people. I don't care what they do, but I'm not going to lie to them about it. And besides that, if your case is so strong, just demand that they're always treated as their declared gender and stop bogging down every other related topic just because it's an opportunity to make your case that way. It's getting to be an all out class and culture war.

    • Seatnai

Actually, you're not quite right in your beliefs that supporters of Trans rights are mental. The mental health community has concluded that Trans folk are in fact suffering from a true physical birth defect which caused their gender incongruence. Trans folk need medical care, not mental health treatment.

The conservative religious community, on the other hand, needs to accept that scientific understanding on almost every subject has a way of changing. The sun does not revolve around the earth. Nor is the earth flat. Neither is the earth the center of the universe as the religious community once wanted everyone to believe. People can be born with a manifest need for medical care to have their sex brought into alignment with their gender identity, since it has been scientifically established that gender identity, once developed, can not be changed.

      • Softly Bob

Actually some ARE genuinely suffering from a true physical birth defect, but some are not. A great deal of them are suffering from a psychological disorder induced at some point in their childhood. These ones could benefit from psychiatric treatment.

        • Jayne K.

Your information is incorrect. Transgender individuals are born that way. The idea that it is caused by childhood trauma is only the knee-jerk opinion of someone who does not understand the concept of transgender. You are seeking a reason. There is none except that God gave transgender to the world, deal with it.

          • Viet Vet

            It's caused by mental deficiency.

          • objectivefactsmatter

"Transgender individuals are born that way. "

I'm sure you have evidence for that opinion. Why not then operate before they even have to leave the hospital? That will save a lot of anxiety since you have simple litmus tests for the condition.

"The idea that it is caused by childhood trauma is only the knee-jerk opinion of someone who does not understand the concept of transgender. "

You can say that after you provide the evidence for the first statement you made. Trauma and indoctrination cause these problems. And even if there are other components, indoctrination leads them to making very poor choices about how to solve those root organic problems, if any exist.

            "You are seeking a reason."

But you claimed to know the reason already.

"There is none except that God gave transgender to the world, deal with it."

That's ridiculous. Fatalism and determinism are not Biblical.

      • Mary Sue

        Intersex =/= Trans.

This isn't any different than someone who claims to be Otherkin, who claims they were born the wrong species (believing their true body to be something other than human). It's still a mental disorder.

There is nothing scientific about "being born in the wrong body"– it's all a construct of the mind. You'd consider a person who thinks they're a wolf to be completely off their rocker, wouldn't you?

        • Jayne K.

What is your opinion of bigoted trolls that wander through the internet and post their misguided and revolting ideas, having no real stake in the discussion but just wanting to exercise the demons inside? How messed up is that?

          • objectivefactsmatter

"What is your opinion of bigoted trolls that wander through the internet and post their misguided and revolting ideas, having no real stake in the discussion but just wanting to exercise the demons inside? How messed up is that?"

            That's also sad.

          • Mary Sue

Misguided? I think not. Yours, most likely.

  • Tina Trent

Interesting forgotten fact never taught in women's studies programs — NOW was resistant to including violence against women in their early platform, lest they be accused (as was the entire anti-rape movement) of being racist towards minority men.

The issue itself, and VAWA have always been a bit of a thorn in the side of those who feel the women's movement should be all about lesbians and that women who choose to stick with men have to expect to experience violence — the solution being, of course, to throw money at the gay and trans groups, who are suddenly able to discover partner-on-partner violence as a problem so long as there is funding to do so.

And VAWA was hijacked by special interest groups from its inception. It's important to note, I think, that a lot of VAWA funding goes for very good services — nurse forensic training that has increased the viability of sex crime prosecutions, leading to the incarceration of prolific offenders and an extraordinary drop in sex crime rates; development of DNA databases, and direct service provision that saves lives.

But such things should be mainstreamed anyway, and the activists chasing in for blaming all men for violence while doing nothing to encourage prosecutions of real offenders should be tossed to their own devices. The best way to shut down subsidized anti-male political rhetoric, after all, is to defund it.

    • Mary Sue

Radical Feminists are also fervently opposed to allowing Trans women (male to female trans) into "women's safe spaces", oddly enough (or maybe not).

  • Jayne K.

Mr. Greenfield lacks a clear understanding of transgender and that is evidenced by the fact that he included a picture of Dennis Rodman made during a publicity stunt in the 1990’s, completely unrelated to the condition of transgender. Dennis Rodman is not transgender and has never claimed to be. Additionally, referring to transgender individuals with the pejorative ‘trannies’ only gives us a further indication of the mindset of the author. Given those facts, the arguments presented here are biased and the conclusion that they come to is the perspective of bigotry. Mr. Greenfield has clearly chosen to go on the offensive against what may be the most marginalized group in society, a spineless move, and his arguments have no basis in fact.

    • Daniel Greenfield

I thought lepers were the most marginalized group in society?

      • Jayne K.

Considering the anachronistic 18th century attitudes displayed in this article, it would not surprise me if you do believe that lepers are still carted off to isolated island colonies and shunned by society. That, however, is no longer the case. I suppose now that I have informed you of these vacant islands, your readers will no doubt begin a movement to repopulate those colonies with “undesirables” such as transgender individuals. Thankfully, though, society has progressed significantly despite the efforts of a few bigoted individuals.

        • Viet Vet

          You are a puke!

        • Mary Sue

do you realize that a number of men who are criminals go trans and then use this transness to rape women in women's bathrooms? Or women's prisons?

    • thomas_h

      Transgenders most marginalized? Not midgets?
I mean, everybody is looking down on them…

      And how about Siamese twins?

Seriously now. At least transgenders, if they want, may refrain from making a spectacle out of themselves if they are bothered by "marginalization". A choice not available to midgets, or Siamese twins.

    • Mary Sue

he put that picture there for teh LULz.

This has nothing to do with bigotry. It's more bigoted to be in denial and NOT take care of a legitimate mental disorder that causes a person to falsely believe they are in the wrong body (genderwise).

Just so I know whether you're a hypocrite or not, what is your stance on Furries and Otherkin?

      • Jayne K.

Mary I implore you to do some research before you continue to go around spewing false information. The mental disorder that transgender individuals face is cured by only one means – the individual must present him or herself as their true gender. I take it that you have never met a transgender individual? Or read a single article from a peer-reviewed medical journal or even wikipedia, have you? So then how can you dare criticize what you have not seen for yourself? I'd say that is the height of hypocrisy.

        • Mary Sue

no, the true cure is curing them of the idea that they're the "wrong" gender. Just as you'd cure a furry from thinking he's really a dragon.

      • Jayne K.

I'm sure to you a picture of Dennis Rodman in drag is funny. There was a time also when a person wearing blackface was hilariously funny to prejudice farmers in the south. The times have changed and they will again. You will be stuck on the side of the losers if you do not change your ways soon.

        • Mary Sue

The two are not even remotely similar.

    • figment newton

Considering what Massachusetts public schools are using as the definition of "transgender" i think the picture of Dennis Rodman in a dress is appropriate.

    • objectivefactsmatter

"Dennis Rodman is not transgender and has never claimed to be."

A man wearing a dress is not transgender. OK then. Let's argue indefinitely over every petty thing we can think of.

"Additionally, referring to transgender individuals with the pejorative ‘trannies’ only gives us a further indication of the mindset of the author. "

True enough. I guess he's frustrated. What's your guess?

"Given those facts, the arguments presented here are biased and the conclusion that they come to is the perspective of bigotry."

Judging behavior is bigoted? Fine. Have it your way.

"Mr. Greenfield has clearly chosen to go on the offensive against what may be the most marginalized group in society, a spineless move, and his arguments have no basis in fact."

I actually feel we do need to be careful about falling for the lies of the leftists that hurt confused people. Most transgender people are confused about accepting unchangeable facts. But that doesn't mean we should not protect them from crime just as we protect all others from crime.

But without speaking for the author of the article, I think the main point is about the corrupt agenda that we refer to as identity politics used as class warfare tactics. That's what I'm concerned about. I don't really care who wears a dress. There are much bigger problems to deal with, that's for sure. Wearing a dress doesn't entitled men to walk in to public women's restrooms by the way.

    • AbsolutelyRight

He should not have called them "trannies" or "transgender" … he should have called them "the chronically insane mentally ill" who should not be indulged by society with phony rights, but actually treated for their mental illness.

      • Viet Vet

        Absolutely!

  • Seatnai

The author obviously needs to go back to school and do some serious mental health and medical health research. Science has a way of changing the way certain issues are viewed, and the Transgender issue has changed dramatically in the last several years. Peer reviewed scientific evidence shows that being Transgender is not a mental health issue, but an actual medical issue that developed while the child was still in the womb. The link that follows was released two years ago by the American Medical Association. It contains hard scientific fully peer reviewed evidence that the hard conservative right (choke) does not want to acknowledge even exists.

    • Viet Vet

Everything to do with the perverted, base left is a mental condition.

    • Seatnai

It would appear that my comment was cut off. Let's see if the following link makes it into this discussion.
      http://media01.commpartners.com/AMA/sexual_identi

This is important information to the topic.

    • Mary Sue

The "science" you're referring to has been hijacked by the Identity Politics crowd and is thus biased and invalid.

….so, what you're trying to argue is that because it's got an organic cause, it's not a mental disorder. I have news for you, A LOT of mental disorders have organic causes. It doesn't erase the fact that it's a mental disorder.

      • Seatnai

Essentially, it is your contention that both The American Medical association and The American Psychiatric Association and the entire peer review committees of both organizations have sold out to a conspiracy group bent on an agenda of social and economic control. Really?

        • Mary Sue

No, I believe the AMA and the APA have been taken over by radical leftists who operate based on ideology, not science. That's what happened when they removed Homosexuality as a Mental Disorder back in the 70s. It was not due to some science or new advancement in the understanding of homosexuality. It was due to pressure by radical leftists both inside and outside the APA. This is no different.

          • objectivefactsmatter

But some radical leftists are still very good medical doctors. They're just delusional about non-medical things and they often allow these ideas to influence their medical opinions.

Leftists are totalitarian. They can't help it corrupting everything they do, but this corruption doesn't make them completely useless in every profession. Most MDs I know are leftists and practice good medicine when there are no political issues at stake.

          • Viet Vet

Luckily, I don't know any leftist MDs

        • objectivefactsmatter

"Essentially, it is your contention that both The American Medical association and The American Psychiatric Association and the entire peer review committees of both organizations have sold out to a conspiracy group bent on an agenda of social and economic control. Really?"

They've succumbed to political pressure driven by dominant cultural hegemony of the leftists. Look at our president. Is that a conspiracy? Not specifically in this case.

        • thomas_h

Well, they are not the only ones.
The "man-made-climate-change" hoax which so many young scientists at the early stage of their professional career must pretend to respect lest it will harm their career is another example of an ideology stifling professional integrity and personal honour. The extreme case of empirical science succumbing to demands of political correctness was Lysenko's bizarre theories of botanic being declared as truth by the Dear Leader Stalin. Our contemporary Left doesn't have at its disposal the "Ministry of Truth" to execute dissenters, but their hunger for totalitarian control over minds shows very clearly.

          • Jayne K.

It does not surprise me that the adherents of transphobia also are adherents of conspiracy theory. The first thing one must do in order to believe a conspiracy theory is to deny the mountains of counter-arguments to the belief. This climate is only possible in very weak and ignorant weather patterns where denial and selfish ego are interweaved through a front of hatred.

          • objectivefactsmatter

"It does not surprise me that the adherents of transphobia also are adherents of conspiracy theory. "

So there are no conspiracies, ever?

"The first thing one must do in order to believe a conspiracy theory is to deny the mountains of counter-arguments to the belief. "

Assuming that evidence exists. Which theory are you talking about? You do know that some conspiracy theories are true. Communist infiltration in the USA is an undeniable fact to name just one,

"This climate is only possible in very weak and ignorant weather patterns where denial and selfish ego are interweaved through a front of hatred."

Wait. What climate do you refer to? Intellectual climates have weather patterns? I didn't know this. A front of hatred hiding a selfish ego. OK. It's not authentic hate, it's hiding selfishness. OK, whatever.

          • objectivefactsmatter

"It does not surprise me that the adherents of transphobia also are adherents of conspiracy theory."

And by the way, what we're talking about is not a conspiracy. It's a side effect of leftist cultural hegemony. OTOH, that was caused by a Soviet Communist conspiracy that outlived the sovereign that launched it.

You shouldn't allow yourself to get so angry. You might find out what our actual objections are. It's the radicals that cause all of this. Most or perhaps all of the male dress wearers are bigger victims of the left than I am. It's not personal at all. I saw the radical gay politicians inspire changes to San Francisco culture that left it intolerable to visit certain parts of the city because the male homosexuals became so aggressive trying to date anyone they saw; like they were in a special club that gave them permission to approach any man; in broad daylight. This was in the heart of the financial district.

Gay radicals are intolerant and hateful. Deal with that intellectually and you'll get a lot more love around here.

          • Mary Sue

pul-leeze, nobody is scared of trans people. That's another fake phobia along with Islamophobia.

            It's not a conspiracy theory, it's a fact.

          • objectivefactsmatter

"Well, they are not the only ones."

            That's an understatement.

      • Jayne K.

It does not surprise me that the adherents of transphobia are also the adherents of conspiracy theory.

        • Mary Sue

which conspiracy theory? That the Jews are out to conquer the world? :P

    • MacGregor

I've got the perfect solution to the problem. Transgender individuals should become Nuns or Monks and then they wouldn't have to worry about who/what they are? Problem solved.

  • Brujo Blanco

The author does understand the trans gender. The problem that I have is that people.are being vilified for traditional religious.beliefs. Greenfield is right. Men are men and women are women. He has a right to believe what he believes. This claptrap of telling people the need or have to believe otherwise runs contrary to religious and.cultural beliefs.

    • Viet Vet

      Or logic and commonsense.

    • Seatnai

The author has a right to believe whatever he likes. Since he is also a professional journalist, he has a responsibility to get his facts straight before he puts them into print. Gender is not based in the sexual organs. That gender is based in the brain is a proven scientific fact. There is much more to being men and women than those fascinating items found between our legs. We are not defined by our reproductive organs. We are defined by the gender identity that developed while we were still cradled in our mother's wombs.

"This claptrap of telling people the need or have to believe otherwise runs contrary to religious and.cultural beliefs." Actually, religions have been forcing beliefs on anyone within reach for thousands of years. Christianity was spread on the edge of a bloody sword, and enforced with rope, torch and stake. Christianity has a history of having a culture of violence against anyone that does not accept its beliefs.

      • objectivefactsmatter

"Gender is not based in the sexual organs."

Well there you go. Common sense truly is dead.

"Actually, religions have been forcing beliefs on anyone within reach for thousands of years."

Some religions are totalitarian, just like the Soviet Communists. Actually Communists were worse, but there are plenty of parallels.

"Christianity was spread on the edge of a bloody sword"

Nope. A few rulers used Christianity as a pretext. That worked when almost nobody could call their bluff and get the text out. That doesn't work any more because the Bible is widely available.

" and enforced with rope, torch and stake. Christianity has a history of having a culture of violence against anyone that does not accept its beliefs."

Whenever you read about "coercive Christianity" you can be sure you're not getting the entire set of salient facts. Generalizing about this is pretty common though so…I forgive you.

Is species also based in the brain?

      • Mary Sue

You're recycling deconstructed gender claptrap from Communists. Stop listening to communists. Communists lie. That is what they do. Communists have a history of a culture of violence against anyone of faith (witness China against Tibetan Buddhists and Falun Gong) and anyone that does not accept communist belief.

Transgender individuals are not going away and there is nothing that narrow-minded bigots can do about it. Gender is not based on sexual organs, a fact that has been known for decades. Those who are intolerant of the transgender community are only responding to a spark of misplaced fear and fuel added by extremist Christian fascists. To hide the hideous nature of intolerance behind Jesus must be the tantamount of high sins. You are on the wrong side of history and soon your ideas will be considered as ignorant as those who once segregated public restrooms for white and black patrons. Transpeople are decent citizens and want to live healthy and productive lives that will only enhance, and not interfere with, society. If you stand against the hearts and minds of the millions who yearn for the liberty that is just now being acknowledged after centuries of repression, God have mercy on you. You will lose and it will be humiliating to be the last one holding on to the revolting bag of hatred.

    • Viet Vet

I think the muslims have something to say about that.

"You will lose and it will be humiliating to be the last one holding on to the revolting bag of hatred."

Spoken like a true leftist. You'll shame those who disagree with you, just to get started, right? You and Hilary know how to operate while that pesky constitution is in the way.

What I hate is politicizing sex perversions. I don't hate all perverts. I don't care. I hate when they want to pervert society for the sake of feeling normal.

    • Daniel Greenfield

So gender is based on identification, which would really mean that gender doesn't exist.

      • Mary Sue

welcome to Gender Deconstruction, the purple koolaid of Gender Studies.

    • Mary Sue

Gender is NOT based on the brain. IDEAS ABOUT Gender are based in the brain. Hormones influence the brain, but that doesn't erase the biological genitalia. If a person has xy chromosomes and doesn't have a rare severe genetic disease and has a penis and testicles is male, end of story. It doesn't matter what their addled brain may believe. People become delusional for any reason. If someone believes their gender does not match their physical genitalia, they are DELUSIONAL. Like a person that's tripping on acid.

"Transgender individuals are not going away and there is nothing that narrow-minded bigots can do about it"

I don't care if they go away or not and certainly have better things to do than trying to do anything about it.

I think they are sick weirdos, and as long as they, as a group, don't scream for recognition and demand respect for their perversion or the right to tutor or adopt children they are free to do what they want to their genitals, or parade up and down the street in a most ridiculous attire. It is only when they want the society to pay for their surgeries, or want me prosecuted for either laughing loud at their antics, or calling them pervert that I say stop.

Transpeople are decent citizens and want to live healthy and productive lives that will only enhance, and not interfere with, society."

They want to live healthy lives? Hm…,cultivating and celebrating their mental sickness is a strange way to go about it. And how exactly do they want to “enhance society”? Or maybe the society should first be asked if and how does it want to be “enhanced”?

"If you stand against the hearts and minds of the millions who yearn for the liberty that is just now being acknowledged after centuries of repression,…"

Good Lord! Rarely is such tawdriness of expression, such worn out sloganeering delivered with such frantic pathos. You sound as someone with advanced senility which decimated his vocabulary who nevertheless insist on declaring the dawn of the new era. Pathetic!

And, pray, what liberty are these “millions” of perverts yearning for but are denied? Liberty of association? Publication? Celebration and advertising of their madness? Which of these is denied to them? None! So what in the world are you howling about?

And speaking of liberty, I insist on my liberty to deride them and freely express my disgust with them.
It is you who dream of taking it away from me. It is you who is bigot.

"You will lose and it will be humiliating to be the last one holding on to the revolting bag of hatred"

Wow! Where did you get your soothsayer certificate?

  • Viet Vet

    It's Viet Nam, Jane.

    • Mary Sue

thanks for recognizing that was Jane and not me…god what is wrong with these idiots that think it's funny to impersonate me.

As a trans woman, it really, truly makes me sad to see the language used in this. Trans women are, in fact, women. Why shouldn't we be afforded protection from rape or domestic violence? Why do you hate us so much, to where you need to call us names (the t word), use a picture of Dennis Rodman in a wedding dress at the top of the article (obviously, Rodman is not transgender, so it's a false equivalency), and fight to restrict us even further (opposing ENDA, etc.)? 40% of trans people attempt suicide (vs. about 3% of the general population), and we're more prone to be the victims of violent crime than cis males or cis females. Why must some people out there pile on the hate? People are people, love them all.

    • Daniel Greenfield

You're a man, and men are also protected against domestic violence. However men tend not to need special efforts to be protected against domestic violence.

The high percentage of people with body image issues attempting suicide is a psychological problem that requires real treatment, not medical self-mutilation.

      • Jayne K.

I guess the notion that ad hominem commentary is forbidden does not apply to the author. Well sir, your article is now relegated to failed histories as the act passed the House. You fought on the side of hate and lost. You are not a man.

    • Mary Sue

honey, you're delusional. If you believed you were a Dragon, would that be healthy? Would indulging that fantasy be healthy?

Heh, talk to Cathy Brennan about how valid the term "cis" is…

      • Jayne K.

All of your arguments are out the window now as the GLBT inclusive act passed both the house and senate, and President Obama will have no trouble signing it now. Your arguments are a footnote of the past, another failed endeavor in bigotry.

    • Mary Sue

look nobody's saying trans women should be raped or anything. What's that got to do with anything anyway? How do I know you're not going to rape a woman or a little girl in a woman's rest room with what's left of your manbits?

      • Jayne K.

How do we know that we can trust you in the public restroom? How do we know that you will not grope someone? I don't think you ought to be allowed in there either because we just don't know for sure, do we? Perhaps no one should be allowed in public restrooms! Because God knows what anyone is capable of.

    • Mary Sue

btw anyone who attempts/contemplates suicide is 100% MENTALLY ILL. Duh.

  • Jayne K.

Last laugh – Transgender inclusive Violence Against Women Act passed by the House. Society is changing and the adherents of transphobia are quickly becoming a minority themselves. #tablesareturning

So now we have hyphenated women now too? As if hyphenated Americans isn't bad enough. Does the VAWA protect Muslim women against Islamic extremism?
