Liberal Racial Writer Calls for Ethnically Cleansing Old White Santa

Santa's arrest

As Oprah might say, “America will only make progress when old white Santa is dead.”

Aisha Harris, one of Slate’s experts in the field of everything being racist, describes feeling “insecurity and shame” over Santa’s race.

Two decades later, America is less and less white, but a melanin-deficient Santa remains the default in commercials, mall casting calls, and movies. Isn’t it time that our image of Santa better serve all the children he delights each Christmas?

Not to mention female Santa, disabled Santa and transgendered Santa. But Aisha Harris has a perfectly reasonable solution.

I propose that America abandon Santa-as-fat-old-white-man and create a new symbol of Christmas cheer. From here on out, Santa Claus should be a penguin…

Making Santa Claus an animal rather than an old white male could spare millions of nonwhite kids the insecurity and shame that I remember from childhood…

That this genial, jolly man can only be seen as white—and consequently, that a Santa of any other hue is merely a  “joke” or a chance to trudge out racist stereotypes—helps perpetuate the whole “white-as-default” notion endemic to American culture (and, of course, not just American culture).

Santa is the new/old face of white privilege. But what is Aisha Harris planning to do about Jesus, since this is Christmas after all? Replace him with a penguin?

And once we’re on a penguin kick, why not replace the Founding Fathers with penguins to avoid the pernicious idea that the American default is white. To balance things out, we’ll also replace Martin Luther King with a penguin.

We can’t stop there.

There are still more white people than black people in this country. Even with birth rate demographics, it’s going to take a while until the vast majority of adults are non-white. Until that day comes, the government can mandate that everyone buy and wear penguin masks.

Everyone likes penguins. As long as they’re not albino penguins.

If Aisha Harris describes feeling “insecurity and shame” over Santa’s race, Santa being white is the least of her problems.

    • Jonathan

it means she is openly unapologetically racist. imagine saying you feel shame over a black fictional character’s race.

    • objectivefactsmatter

      Collectivism always leads to misery.

    • BS77

      I’m dreaming of a black Christmas……..

      • Right of Left

        Its already here.

  • Guy Fromage

Um. Penguins hang out at the South Pole. #derp

Hey. Wait. Maybe we can make Santa a Polar Bear. Oh, no. That won’t work.

    Still white.

    Sigh.

    • Col_Angus

But Polar Bears have black skin underneath. ;)

  • michael

Uhm, fictional characters can be whatever color you imagine them to be – a black Jesus or Santa is no more or less “real” than a white one.

    • Well Done

… which only points up how damn stupid it is to complain about the color of one of the most famous fictional characters of all, a character created by a culture that tolerates even the most crassly stupid intolerant idiots.

  • cheechakos

Why is Ms Harris trying to rewrite and steal white culture?
Santa Claus is from ancient European pagan white cultural celebrations of the winter solstice ,Dec 21.
To assimilate the pagans into Christianity they merged pagan ritual of Santa Claus/Sinter Klaas with St. Nicholas of Myra, a Greek saint.

Ms.Harris has her very own cultural celebration called Kwanzaa. She is not forced or required to use Santa Claus in her religious celebrations.

    • A Z

We do not know that Ms Harris celebrates Kwanzaa.

But she would be upset if it were appropriated by too many white people and they put a white face on it. She’d climb the walls better than a cat.

She is upset that Latinos and Asians can or will celebrate Christmas but none of them celebrate Kwanzaa.

  • A Z

Now what does Santa look like in Hispanic countries?

Does Ms Harris object to that as well?

    • O’Paque

I would heartily encourage the white-hating Aisha Harris to stroll through east L.A. and ask around. She’ll find out right quick about how the ‘people of color’ alliance works there.

      • A Z

If it works in East LA as it does in formerly black Compton …

      • objectivefactsmatter

But the TV ads hurt her feelings. Come on man! Everything must be regulated and centrally planned or progress will come to a complete stop.

  • tagalog

Well, but wait: Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Father Christmas, known by several names, is a figure from Northern European, i.e., lily white society and culture. If we make Santa Claus a negroid person, won’t that be racist against Northern Europeans?

    • A Z

I have no problem with a black Santa, an Asian one or a Latino one. After all my kids are darker than me. One of them might want to play Santa in the future for their grandkids or whatever and they are not lily white. Are they going to cease and desist from acting like Santa because they are not pure white. Nonsense! But they are not going to make a big deal out of it! “Oh the 1st nonwhite Santa, overcoming centuries of persecution woe is us!” That is how the Leftist chant would be.

A Santa divorced from the Saint Mick of Asia Minor is a “cultural” Santa and not Christian Santa.

But here is how it would play out if left to the Left. It will be like a pictures of 1/2 a dozen to a dozen people with a token white make or none to be seen for photo to show inclusiveness or photo op Democrat Party photo ops.

    • objectivefactsmatter

Critical Race Theory. It’s all good bro’.

    • Well Done

Let’s not fail to note that the European culture has proven itself far more tolerant than the “other” cultures have. For example, we don’t blow up their buildings because we don’t like their religion. We blow up their buildings because we don’t like them blowing up ours, and those of our friends.

  • Habbgun

Considering someone as melanin deficient is racism.

    • A Z

Yes, but it gets you tenure at universities.

      Leonard Jeffries anyone?

  • bob e

we just can’t make santa a penguin..he’ll die of global warming…
and the raindeer ain’t gonna take orders from a penquin either..

Do we add any red or just leave him monochrome?

  • Bryce Armstrong

Black Santa breaks into your house in the middle of the night and STEALs YOUR gifts!

    • O’Paque

      HAHAAAAAA!!!!! :)

  • Hass

That POS writers name, Aisha, named after Pedo Mo’s fav child bride. Enough said.

  • Jonathan

ha they show their racism! oops, i forgot it’s “reverse” racism! A racist term itself!

  • objectivefactsmatter

Traditions are all about progress. Change for the sake of change. That’s what Jesus fought for. Just change something!

  • mackykam

One can’t fix stupid. It’s genetic. Especially for one who’s been named after Mohamed’s child-wife. Which proves it’s genetic.
Must be terrible to wake up each day, look in the mirror and think, “gee, I’m still black. God, I hate white folks.”

  • Well Done

Yet another activist who needs his butt kicked. Hard. Honestly, if these jumped-up do-nothings don’t like our culture, why don’t they F__K off somewhere that more suits their tastes. I’m not sure where, because I don’t stoop to dictate to others what their culture should be. I’m offended by aszwholes like this guy, who presume to lecture me about my culture. This won’t end well.

  • PeterSalinas

What about the red suit being racist to Native-Americans? And the reindeer engaging the wrath of PETA and their new legal foundation, the ASPCACLU?

“Sleigh” sounds too much like “slay” which is another example of rightwing violence. Heard about the teacher that wants to replace white paper with colored paper because white paper “conditions little minds to white privilege?”

Wouldn’t the black lead balance that out?? Or is lead racist because lead is associated with the expression, “Get the lead out” implying that blacks are lazy.

…how do white liberals get away with branding other whites as being guilty of white privilege, when it is the liberals who depend on that privilege to get where they are given their aversion to hard work, free markets, and capitalism.

  • Seek

Aisha Harris is nothing more than Tim Wise set to prose. A self-hating white who has successfully forced himself to see his race as an oppressor.

  • Right of Left

Why not have Shaq portray Santa? No more shameful feeling and a bit of fear among the nearly dead white folk.

  • Robert Lande

Maybe we can seed the clouds to get black snow.

  • v

Does she know the origin of Santa Claus? Just in case she reads this, here is the origin: Saint Nicholas of Myra was a 4th-century Greek Christian bishop of Myra (now Demre) in Lycia, a province of the Byzantine Anatolia, now in Turkey. Nicholas was famous for his generous gifts to the poor, in particular presenting the three impoverished daughters of a pious Christian with dowries so that they would not have to become prostitutes.[7] He was very religious from an early age and devoted his life entirely to Christianity. HE WAS A WHITE MAN. Does she mean that black children cannot identify with white people being good people ? What a stupid comments on her part. .

  • FunFunFun

    I do like penguins… they’re delicious.

      They’s practically chickens!

I’ve always thought Santa symbolized love and giving and his pale
skin is sort of a neutral common-ground for all peoples of the world.
(well that’s how I’ve always felt).

It seems “changing santa” is more of a political statement. Like all things politically
correct it ditches something good you remember from childhood and
changes it for the sake of some ideology.…

  • Anthony Volpe

For those that think they need to change the image of santa. Might want
to learn the history of why we have a Santa in the first places.
    The
idea of santa came from first the pagan god Odin, who was associated
with the Germanic pagan midwinter event of Yule and led the Wild Hunt, a
ghostly procession through the sky. Over time, traits of this character
and the British folklore character Father Christmas merged to form the
modern Santa Claus known today. And for those who believe st Nickles is
the idea where we got santa from is fact that he was Christian bishop
During the Christianization of Germanic Europe.Watch was trying to
convert many pagan into the christian faith by changing the image of the
pagan faith and believes. So next time you put your kid on santa lap at
the mall remember honoring Odin a pagan god.
