MSNBC Dumps Ed Schultz for Younger Man

Poor Ed.

If you’ve been watching MSNBC’s second-dumbest slowest man (after Al Sharpton and ahead of Chris Matthews) then you noticed that he’s been getting redder and angrier lately even though there hasn’t been much for him to be angry about. MSNBC viewers have tried to adjust their color only to realize that Ed Schultz’s face really is that red.

And now we know why. MSNBC is sending off Ed Schultz to farm country on Sunday nights. There he’ll be able to run and play for a little bit before sending his resume to Al Gore, in case the Great Ecohoaxer decides to start another environmental liberal news network to sell to a backward oil dictatorship.

Replacing the nearly 60-year-old Schultz will be the 34-year-old Chris Hayes. Hayes is everything that Schultz isn’t. Hayes is a New Yorker. Schultz has spent much of his life in red states. Hayes looks like one of the left’s perpetual college students. Schultz looks like he’s sleeping off a weekend bender.

Hayes, like Ezra Klein, another contender for the job, perfectly matches MSNBC’s young urban liberal demo. Schultz was meant to appeal to a more rural working class sensibility, that the last election told Obama Inc and its media affiliates that they don’t have to care about anymore.

Ed Schultz never really fit in at MSNBC. Now he fits in nowhere. Current TV is now Jihad TV and probably doesn’t have much use for him either.

Between all the Current TV refugees, like Jennifer Granholm and the MSNBC refugees, like Keith Olbermann, they could form yet another liberal network. And then they could broadcast daily shows from Keith Olbermann’s basement while getting him coffee and donuts.

OH BOOOOOO HOOOOOO….. Ed is finally off TV….what took so long?

    • Deep Space

I personally loathe Schultz but we need to keep these guys on so everyone can understand what they're about.

  • obama guy

I'll miss Ed, a decent honorable guy.

    • truebearing

Define "decent." While you're looking it up, look up "hypocrisy." Maybe you'll recognize yourself, and the rest of the depraved Left.
You people babble about the "War on Women" yet call women the "c" word, the "b" word, and more. Ed Schultz is a depraved moron and massive hypocrite, but too stupid to realize it, yet you think he is "decent." You managed to indict your intellect and broadcast your moral turpitude in one short sentence. Brilliant.

    • kafir4life

      HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

      Good one, stinky (bo) guy!

  • JacksonPearson

LMAO…So they finally caught up with the Sarg, and furloughed him.

    • susan

he is one of the only people telling you what is happening in this country regarding human rights, workers being treated very badly. CNN, and Fox can't be trusted his being removed from the lineup means we the true country are losing more and more people who are truely telling what is really happening in this country is not about left or right. Think about it.

  • Dirk

Will miss you Ed but will tune in for your
    Weekend show

  • objectivefactsmatter

    When will Matthews be following?

    • Edward Cline

Matthews will know his time is up when the network gives him his walking papers, and the tingle down is leg won't be from watching Obama speak to his teleprompters. He'll know it when he excuses himself and makes a beeline for the men's room.

  • truebearing

But won't Ediot's demise dangerously increase the composite IQ of the MSNBC hosts? It could rocket right past that of the audience…quite easily. Ed Schultz spoke Moronese….they understood him. The odds are overwhelming that Hayes will be too smart for the viewers. MSNBC may have to give Sharpton another hour just to dumb things back down.

Milton Waddams on Office Space? You tell me… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vd4fj9Efl4s

  • silver gonzales

Another loud mouth American left wing, in this case, entertainment lying wackjob.

I used to listen to Savage, Rush and Levin but I doubt their sincere beliefs because all they do is talk.

The only thing that will bring normalcy to the USA is violence. And it is coming…

    • ali goodwin

Why don't you self deport…take those morons you mentioned with you.

  • kafir4life

FABULOUS news for sure!!!! Maybe when msnbc gets tired of having a drunk on-air, tingle legs will be next.

  • Ar'nun

When I first saw this fat clown I wondered who the moron was that was willing to give this guy a show in the first place. Good riddance

  • z22eagle

Oh so sad. Now the 14 peo-le in his audience of whackos will miss him.

  • camdug

Ed is the best guy to speak for the working class. It seems most states want to bust unions and become right to work states. I don't anyone on MSNBC that speaks with such passion.

  • Pat fillous

Ed is a decent, honest guy and I really enjoyed the show. He told the TRUTH as you won't find on FOX.
I will watch his show on Sundays. I really think its time to take Chris Matthews off the 7p.m time slot. One show with MATTHEWS is enough. By the way, Matthews is older than Ed and Matthews is loud and annoying.

  • MARY JANE

I WILL MISS ED VERY MUCH, HE PUT ON A GOOD NEWS SHOW, AND HE TOLD YOU THE TRUTH, I WAITED THRU CHRIS MATTHEWS FOR AN HOUR TO SEE ED'S SHOW…ED ALWAYS HAD GOOD PEOPLE ON WITH HIM, AND IF HE GOT UPSET, THAT WAS FINE, MOST OF THE TIME I WAS UPSET ALONG WITH HIM WITH WHAT WAS GOING ON….MSNBC YOU WILL MISS A WONDERFUL NEWSMAN, AND ONE THAT REALLY MADE SENSE, AND HELP TO MAKE YOUR NEWS PROGRAM THE SUCESS THAT IT IS….HOPE YOU HAVE THE SENSE TO HOLD ON TO RACHEL & LARRY.

  • ali goodwin

It's time to quit comcast and their cable station. They keep taking off their best hosts. Maybe they will miss all that money I pay them.

  • Alaskan Mike

Ed is NOT off the air, and he was NOT demoted or pushed to the weekend. He requested the move to a weekend show to allow him to get out of New York and to be home with his wife Wendy, who just had a very close brush with death from cancer. He is still on the radio 3 hours a day, but unlike his MSNBC show, he can do his radio show from anywhere and not have to be in the MSNBC studios 5 days a week. Ed is a rural guy and though I will miss seeing him every day, I respect his choices and understand them.

  • Alaskan Mike

I find it interesting that your posting guidelines prohibit Ad Hominem attacks, but you don't hold your "Journalists" to the same standard. Calling someone "red-faced" and "angry" is an ad hominem attack. You don't refute his arguments, you don't indicate what he is red-faced and angry about. I would venture to say I have seen Rush Limbaugh in a red-faced and angry state much more often and with much less reason. Ed is correct to be red-faced and angry at what the Republicans in Wisconsin are trying to do to Unions and what the republican legislature in Michigan is doing to democracy with their "Emergency Manager" (unconstitutional) laws. And finally- in regard to your FPM logo – I would say "Inside every liberal is a totalitarian screaming to get out" is less true than "Inside every conservative is a Fascist screaming to get out".
