Muslim Brotherhood Parliamentarian in Israel Proposes Law Criminalizing Mohammed Cartoons

The Arab representation in the Israeli Knesset, its parliament, lately seems to have too many figures from the Islamic Movement, which is the Israeli version of the Muslim Brotherhood.

MK Sheikh Ibrahim Sarsur in 2011 praised Hezbollah and called for establishing an Islamic Caliphate with its capital in Jerusalem and met with terrorists from the Muslim Brotherhood’s Hamas arm. Now he’s proposing a law criminalizing Mohammed cartoons.

Recently there have been increasing attempts to directly or indirectly harm the religious sentiments of the different sectors in general and Muslims in particular.

Most of the damage is reflected in curses and slurs and various offensive statements against the prophets. Hence there is a need to clarify that a curse and slander is an injury to their faith and the religious feelings of others.

Also, to publish a picture or cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad hits hard at the feelings of believing Muslim, since Islamic law prevents and prohibits any photo and cartoon or any attempt to embody or illustrate the Prophet Muhammad, let alone when suppressed curses, drawings or Cartoons, places the Muslims and their holy symbols in a very negative light.

While the law probably won’t go anywhere, Israel, like Europe, has already largely criminalized offending Muslims with Mohammed cartoons.

Tatiana was a young woman who decided to express some of her frustration and anger at the war of terrorism the Palestinians were waging against her fellow Jews. In June of 1997, she drew several pictures of a pig she called “Mohamed.” She attempted to post these drawings on Arab-owned stores in Hebron… not unlike some of the distasteful pictures Arabs posted on Jewish stores and buildings all the time. Unfortunately, Tatiana’s budding art career was cut short for she was apprehended by the Israeli authorities and brought to the Jerusalem Police station. Tatiana was arrested and later put on trial. Judge Zvi Seagal presided over this case. The judge compared her drawing to the atrocities committed by the Nazis, and said she had no respect for humanity and human rights.

In the judge’s view she was guilty of incitement, racism and perhaps even endangering world peace!

And on January 8, 1998, twenty-six year-old Tatiana Soskin was sentenced by the Jerusalem District Court to two years in prison plus a one-year suspended sentence for ATTEMPTING to post drawings of a pig named “Mohamed.”

Daniel Pipes covered the Clinton Administration’s hysterical reaction to the case suggesting that the whole thing may have come about due to diplomatic pressure from the White House.

The State Department spokesman last Thursday launched into a tirade of a sort that may be unique in the annals of U.S. diplomacy. Asked about a woman, Tatiana Soskin, who allegedly put up some posters in Hebron depicting the Prophet Muhammad as a pig, Nicholas Burns had this to say:

The United States has given great thought to this over the last couple of days, and I mean at the very highest levels of our government. We condemn the outrageous, crude and sick portrayal of the Prophet Mohammed by an Israeli settler the other day. This woman is either sick or she is evil…. We are very pleased that she is going to be put on trial by the Israeli Government. She deserves to be put on trial for these outrageous attacks on Islam. We are grateful that President Weizman and Prime Minister Netanyahu have denounced her and her actions and her sick cartoon in very clear terms.

This amazing statement for several reasons deserves a close look. First, by referring to the “very highest levels of our government,” Mr. Burns is signalling that he is speaking for President Clinton. His comments are not one man’s tirade but the considered and official response bearing the full authority of our leadership.

Perhaps they should instead consider criminalizing Islam.

The world must understand that Israel too is infected with leftist "democracy" and everything is allowable under its banner. In other words, in order to be as "democratic" as possible, Israel has tolerated actual treason within its Knesset, and this is an understatement. Being more than familiar with this arena allows me to state this as a fact at hand –

So don't be surprised if the bugaboo of "Islamophobia" gets all due deliberation within this body politic. Multi-cultural psychosis rules the Israeli roost! Absolutely. It is the bane of a patriot's existence!

The bottom line is that you can't teach your followers that it's "okay" for them to go out and rape, pillage, and murder those who aren't followers because that's what makes God happy. Not in the West, and hopefully not in Israel.

    Criticism of Religion:
Here is a complaint made by citizens of a town about a preacher whose speeches were upsetting them. The speaker, they said,

“has reviled our gods, denounced our religion, derided our traditional values and told us that our forefathers were misguided.” (1)

Not surprisingly the townspeople, whose religious feelings were presumably hurt, found these speeches objectionable. Those who knew the preacher best thought that he had become mentally troubled:

““Indeed he is mad”, they said” (2).

The preacher himself is recorded as saying to his wife:

"I see light and hear sounds and I fear I am mad" (3).

So fearful was he that he more than once decided to end his life:

“…he was deeply grieved. He began to go to the tops of mountain crags, in order to fling himself from them“ (4).

This was not in the USA, where free speech is protected by the First Amendment, specifically in order to protect political speech that some might find offensive. After all, there is no need to protect speech that everyone finds agreeable. No, this was long before the American Constitution was drawn up and amended. It is from old and highly revered histories. The town was Mecca, and the preacher Mohammed.

So what should people do? It is certainly allowed under Freedom of Speech to criticise other religions. Is it a pattern that people should follow ? What does the Koran instruct ?

“Ye have indeed in the Apostle of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) to follow” Koran 33:21

Was it not in one of your recent articles that you show some of the massive funding from Petrodollar donors that has gone to the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation?
Is it not Hillary Clinton whose right hand woman is Huma Abedin of Muslim Brotherhood connection?
No link, of course, with a prison sentence for an Israeli ATTEMPTING to post a cartoon of a pig.

    Michael Copeland:

"This was not in the USA, where free speech is protected by the First Amendment, specifically in order to protect political speech that some might find offensive. After all, there is no need to protect speech that everyone finds agreeable." (see above)

There is arguably no protection under the umbrella of Freedom of Speech for an organization that teaches its members that it is their God-given right to rape, plunder, and kill non-members, unless of course rape, theft, and murder of the citizenry at large is legal in the society where the teaching takes place, which is presumably not the case in any Western nation.

    • Michael Copeland

Hear hear. Teaching rape, plunder and killing and so on is incitement to crime. Presumably this is a criminal offence? It could also be conspiracy to commit crime, which is an offence.

One difficulty with this organisation is that it forbids non-members from attending its "worship" meetings. This exclusivity does not apply to the Church of England, whose church services are open to all.

It is a separate matter, but really some legislative attention should be given to this exclusion. It is at these assemblies, in the "Barracks" (Erdogan) where the "battalions" (Explanatory Memorandum) of "soldiers" meet for their orders that the incitements happen. The "barracks" is where the death sentences are passed, where pressure is applied to assuage injured "honour", and where weapons are stored. They are hate factories and houses of sedition.

      • Texas Patriot

It's not that complicated really. If a religion teaches its members that they have a right to rape, plunder, and kill non-members in the name of God, I don't think anyone should be surprised when the members go out and do it. Therefore, unless the illegal elements of religious teaching can be exorcised and eliminated from the ideology completely, it only stands to reason that (a) the teaching of the ideology should be banned; and/or (b) the teachers of this ideology should be held personally responsible and accountable, civilly and criminally, when the followers go out and commit the very acts they were taught to do.

        • Michael Copeland

Islam is not compatible with democracy.
          Islam belongs in Arabia.

          • Texas Patriot

Islam has been taught in a modified form in America for years, and has had some outstanding converts who were exemplary role models for young Americans of all faiths: Muhammad Ali, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Ahmad Rashad, Hakeem Olajuwon, and many others. But when Islamic teaching includes the right to rape, kill, or plunder non-Muslims, it has no place in America or any other civilized nation. Either Islam can be reformed to be compatible with Western values of equality, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and separation of Church and State, or it should probably be banned altogether. At a very minimum, teachers of a religious ideology that results in the rape, plunder or killing of non-members should be held strictly liable for the proximate consequences of their teachings.

          • Parenthetical Phrase

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, the "modified" Muslims are silent and uninvolved when the jihadists speak, teach and rage. This effectively cancels out the idea that Islam can exist in a pluralistic representative government with a set of established human rights for all. The imams must be held accountable for the actions taken by their followers under the same idea that yelling fire in a crowded theatre does not constitute free speech.

So this is the Islamo-nutter response to another May 20th, Happy 'Draw Mohammad' day…Make a law?

There were millions of drawing world wide this year from freedom loving people the world over. I celebrated the event by drawing and posting Mohammad Toons, then enjoying a festive BBQ using Korans as fuel to grill up Nathan's Original dogs wrapped in Bacon; Yum! Thank You Interwebz!

  • Edward Cline

The artwork is crude, but the message is clear: Up yours, Mohammad.

  • Parenthetical Phrase

However brave I'd like to think Israel is, 20% is Arab, mostly Muslim (Arab Christians generally stand with their Muslim brothers against Israel) and surrounded by angry Muslims. The U.S. President, a Muslim sympathizer and beholden to Saudi Arabia, which is trying to convince Islamists that it is not in bed with the infidel, can turn Bibi Netanyahu into a fawning teenager. Israel's courts are anything but impartial and judges consider themselves the true rulers of Israel, if not God. Israel may have a star of David on its flag but it is beholden to Muslim sensibilities and demands nothing in return for it.

  • And so it goes….

The world over, entire governments and populations are being held captive to the violence and threats of violence by raging Muslims. On Youtube, a video entitled "Sweden, a nation in decline" is a perfect and frightening example. Watch it and chills will run down your spine because you will realize this insanity is spreading — rapidly. Israel cannot fight this battle alone while the world cheers its demise. It really has no other choice. Israel is NOT a Jewish state — it is a Middle Eastern state and it must realize that 20% of its population can be egged on to riot and burn the country down with just a little help from Western NGOs and insane Israeli leftists.

  • Texas Patriot

With the recent announcement of the official end of the "war on terror" by the West, it's probably fair to say that the Israelis stand at a crossroads and an inflection point that could determine future of the middle east for many centuries to come. It's going to take bold and visionary leadership if the israelis want to preserve the Western values of individual freedom, individual dignity, and individual equality and to chart a long-term plan for their own survival as a nation. Otherwise, Israel is probably headed for the swamp of dilution and multi-culturism and perpetual religious and sectarian violence, like the rest of the middle east.

  • Parenthetical Phrase

This Muslim Brotherhood Knesset member looks confident as he should. He knows he can turn at least 10% of the population into rage-alholic psychos at any given moment. And there are enough Israeli Jews who will not only NOT challenge him, they will say nothing. We are in big trouble ladies and gentlemen — this phenomenon is taking place all over the West. Only the Buddhists in Myanmar seem to have cahones and a sense of perspective. Pray for the world and watch, "Sweden a Nation in Decline" on youtube, along with the other videos on how the Swedish gov't is destroying its own people.

    Don't criminalize mohammed cartoons.

    Just criminalize mohammed.

  • Shoaib

People draw such cartoons out of frustration. When Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) started preaching Islam 1400 years ago, people those oppose him did each and every efforts to stop the spread of Islam and even tried eradicate Islam and Muslim forever BUT failed miserably. As Islam is natural religion of mankind and attract more people as its message is simple i.e to worship ONLY THE CREATOR(GOD) and NOT his creations(Jesus, Ram, Buddha etc) so more and more people are embracing Islam everywhere in the world. But those who don't want Islam to spread, out for frustration draw such cartoons. But neither they had succeeded 1400 years nor they will succeed in future and the religion of God(Islam) will reach every house in world as told by last Messenger of Islam Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon). The 2nd last Messenger of Islam being Jesus(peace be upon Him).
