Muslim Privilege: Muslims Are the Real Victims of Marathon Massacre

muslim interfaith

It never fails. The bodies of the latest Muslim atrocity aren’t cold before the media spin artists begin pushing the line that it’s their killers who are the real victims.

Before the day is out, you’ll be hearing about the Muslim woman who was supposedly punched on the shoulder by a man in dark glasses who yelled something at her. And you’ll hear more about the Bangladeshi man who was beaten up by some Latino men angry about the massacre. These incidents and others, some real and some made up, will be rolled into the backlash narrative that has become the main concern after any act of Muslim terror.

Islamophobia is largely a myth. There are few actual incidents involving Muslims in this country. The amount of Muslim victimization is completely out of proportion to the actual FBI crime statistics.

Muslim claims of hate crimes hijack the victimization of the victims of Muslim terror. It’s a cynical and disgusting practice that displays a total insensitivity to a grieving nation.

Hate crimes by Muslims, like September 11 and the Marathon Massacre, motivated by Islamic Supremacism and hatred for non-Muslims, far outweigh the rare assault by an American on a Muslim. And that is something that needs to be addressed before the victimization begins.

The Buddhist community in Burma, victimized by Muslim violence, has been holding up protest signs reading, “The world is not only for Muslims.”

That Buddhist message is something that Muslims ought to take to heart. The idea that Muslims are the center of the world is the privilege behind acts of terror like the Marathon Massacre.

When Muslims brandish signs reading, “Islam will dominate the world” or when they rush in to claim victimization right after a massacre, they are displaying the Muslim Privilege that is at the heart of their violence.

Muslims are not the only people in the world. They are not only people who matter. It’s not just their pain that counts. The pain of their victims counts too.

If Muslims truly empathized with the victims of Muslim terror, terrorism would be far rarer. Instead the self-centered behavior of trying to turn themselves into the victims of their own acts of terror is a repugnant form of Muslim Privilege.

Muslims are not the victims of Muslim terror aimed at non-Muslims. Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Jews, Atheists and a hundred other peoples are.

Muslim Privilege is denying the pain of those who suffer under Islam. Muslim Privilege is insisting that only Muslim pain matters. Muslim Privilege is turning a terrorist attack by Muslims against Americans into a forum for complaining about how Americans mistreat Muslims.

The world isn’t only for Muslims. Muslims aren’t the only ones who have rights. Muslims aren’t the only ones who suffer. The sooner they accept that, the sooner they can learn to live in peace with their neighbors in Africa, Asia, Europe and America. The sooner they accept that, the sooner their violence can end.

The question — where were they radicalized? — is now being used to both dismiss their culpability and enhance ours. Yet I think it is quite possible they were radicalized here. In Cambridge, that is. The young man's self-pitying post-bomb tweet about being in a (or maybe merely being a) minority who sees more clearly than others is right out of grievance studies 101. The obsessive, almost hysterical recitations by classmates about the men's high school being "the most diverse" suggests the problem. Cambridge's "sanctuary city" status codifies it. These young men grew up in a part of America that defines itself as both superior to and persecuted by the less enlightened portions of America. It's a mindset that celebrates and rewards the right type of intolerance while providing the privileges of victimhood. We should be looking at the courses they took in high school and college in addition to any hate-filled sermons they might have heard. The only wonder is that they attacked their hometown instead of striking out against Americans beyond Cambridge's pearly gates. But that is the end game of identity politics — no matter how hard you try to celebrate difference by demeaning your own culture, you will be loved less, not more for it. Perhaps that explains why the former classmates were clinging to the "diversity" meme so desperately.

Tina, PC, (im)moral relativism certainly is a high commodity on America's campuses, and Cambridge is one such demented example. And it is more than likely that their core fealty to Islam – itself a culture of death – to that which they learned in America's leftist school system – gave them al the ammunition/sanctuary to wage jihad.
To be sure, leftist academia had a hand – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/08/21/the-paradox-p

Couple the above with Islam & blood – http://adinakutnicki.com/2012/07/13/islam-blood-a… …a a witch's brew is the perfect target point. A two pronged hydra.

"The world isn’t only for Muslims. Muslims aren’t the only ones who have rights. Muslims aren’t the only ones who suffer. The sooner they accept that, the sooner they can learn to live in peace with their neighbors in Africa, Asia, Europe and America. The sooner they accept that, the sooner their violence can end."

The problem, as I see it, is that they do not WANT to live in peace with their neighbors, and never will.

    • Mark Stevenson

It is up to us to press the point; "The world isn't only for Muslims."

    • Cindy

The problem is their definition of "Peace." To Americans, peace equals freedom. To Muslims, peace equals harmony. Harmony means that everyone accepts Islam and is obedient to Sharia law. Their acts of violence against non-Muslims are aimed toward the goal of making Islam dominant the world so that there can be "Peace." In Islam, there is no concept of freedom Americans understand it. In Islam, the only freedom is freedom to live according to Islamic law and precepts.

  • Gen

I will never believe that those muslims who claim they want to practice their faith and live in peace are not aware of extremist's activities and, for one reason or another, fail to report it. In my feeble mind that makes them co conspirators. I know pretty much what goes on in my neighborhood, and I know I am not unique. I also know that I have an obligation to let authorities know when lives are being endangered.

    • defcon 4

That's why CAIR launched a campaign urging muslimes to not talk to the FBI, because they're "good" and "loyal" Americans.

  • kafir4life

Never hire a muslim. We don't. Never shop in their stores. We don't. Don't do business with places that hire muslims. We don't, but as a courtesy, we let management know why. It's a safety issue. Of course not all muslims are active terrorists, but we've been left with no way to determine if a muslim will go all jihad. Best to just watch them. See what they're up to. They may not like it, but it's a safety issue. Most will be up to nothing, but sometimes they'll kill or explode. It happens. For safety sake.

    • Miss E

Yes, well alot of them are working in meat packing plants so be careful.

    • defcon 4

The above is becoming increasingly difficult to do. Especially if you ever need to hire a taxi. I think a national boycott of all businesses that have ties to islamofascism and outing of all law enforcement officials, legislators and judicial officials who collaborate w/islamofascists would be a good start towards at least stalling the islamonazification of the USA.

  • Mark Stevenson

Mr. Greenfield, this is an excellent article. Thank for clearly pointing out their MO and its egocentric nature, and the response of the brave Buddists in Burma; it will be very helpful in countering it. "The world is not only for Muslims."

Bottom line, if you don’t like the way we run our country or abide by our laws, please feel free to return to your war ridden lands where it’s common ground to avoid IED’s and shrapnel bombs daily from others protesting there right to become a martyr for Ala. where your childrens lives do not matter if they die from a hate crime, they do it for ALA….Go home ! This is a free country and you are free at any time to leave. I am not any way concerned with your way of thinking or hearing you piss and moan about our way of life. This is US not ISLAM or MUSLIM country…move, get out why you can. This is the US where we have the right to choose by birth, you were not born here but were granted the right to come and live by our laws, accept our way of living, not us accepting yours and if you can’t agree maybe you don’t deserve to be here. You agreed to love our country, accept our laws and respect it’s citizens and you teach hypocrisy to your children. Does this sin teach you anything? The world is not for Muslims only, we must all live together but you can’t see that and I refuse to believe in your ALA, I refuse to become a martyr to be accepted into your heaven, I refuse to kill my fellow neighbor or friend because of what your ALA may think, this is not life, this is terrorism.

  • Hi

Do not blame the religion Blame the people ! And stop blaming Muslim all the
Time …….. The kid who went inside the elementry school and killed at least 28 children
Was Christian but you don't see anyone blaming his religion !

    • defcon 4

"The kid who went inside the elementary school and killed at least 28 children"? Huh? Are Djinns giving you delusions again? Or is Satan urinating in your ear?

    • DragonLady

Sorry – I missed the report that said he murdered his mother, then murdered 28 kids BUT WAS A CHRISTIAN. Can you give me a citation of that?

    • Mary Sue

who ever said Adam Lanza was christian? For all you know, he was an ATHEIST!

    • Mary Sue

are you one of those guys, perhaps one of those Muslims, who only know how to recite the Koran in Arabic, but don't actually understand any Arabic, and therefore don't know what the Koran actually says?

    • Moa

"Do not blame the religion Blame the people !"

False. Islam is the problem (not the solution). Why? because the Qur'an contains commandments to do all sorts of evil, such as Sura 9:29.

You have it exactly backwards. I never blame Muslims (people) because they are just people (mostly good, some bad). I always blame the political ideology called "Islam" because it commands even good people do bad things. That makes Islam *evil*.

Like Christianity, most Muslims have a poor grasp of the theology of their own faith (eg. may have not read the Qur'an in their native language; even if they do, they haven't read the commentary on the obfuscated phrases). When Muslims do understand their faith many of them leave it and become apostates, eg. see http://www.wikiislam.net/wiki/People_Who_Left_Isl

So the problem is not Muslims. It is Islam. The reality is that the Boston murders were nothing out of the ordinary in a global sense. Every day there are multiple jihadi attacks around the World (mostly Muslims murdering Muslims of different sects). Here are the *facts*: http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/index.html#Attahttp://www.thereligionofpeace.com/

Notice how relentless the attacks are? multiple times per day across many countries and cultures. The common theme is that it is the political ideology called Islam that is driving this slaughter. It is time to put Islam down for the false and evil system it is.

Finally, here's a quote to get you thinking:
"With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."

Steven Weinberg (US physicist), quoted in The New York Times, April 20, 1999

      • defcon 4

"so the problem is not muslimes, it is islam" My G-d how f'ing naive. Nazism never would've been a problem if it had existed as an ideology by itself. It's the people who carry out that ideology that are the problem It's no wonder islamofascism is spreading across the globe like a cancer. If muslimes aren't the problem then why don't you move to an islamofascist state?

    • Glenn

Don’t know if he was athiest, christian or whaterer, I do know that he was a nutcase through and through. His mother should have known better than let him anywhere near a weapon.

    • Nanis

They are the ones that come out and say that they do it for alla.
And its totally different the kid who killed 28 children was not doing it for no god. He was not even a fan of a god. Besides being Christian doest offer any "virgins" for men to be so called "martirs"

When a muslime points the finger of accusation at anyone, a thousand other fingers point back at him and islam.

  • billybob

Muslims need to police their own radicals elements amongst themselves and stop whining after the fact. If the Imam in their mosque is a radical it is incumbent among them to speak up and make a change. If the muslims around them are radicals it is incumbent to stop it. Right now what we see is muslims ignoring the obvious about the death, destruction and glorification of the radical element they support through their deafening silence. If they chose to remain silent and ignore the facts about the pigs among them they too may expect to reek like the radical swines. If you choose to lay with the pigs muslims then expect to smell like them!

    • defcon 4

Your suggestion is as ludicrous as asking Nazis to police other Nazis.

  • Mary Sue

See, here is the definition of Privilege, as hawked by the Identity Politics Crowd, in full force. The Identity Politics crowd will deny it, of course, but there is no ignoring that in many countries, Islam IS the Oppressor, even by their own rules! Because THEY ARE THE ONES IN POWER.

  • Jack Wisdom

Excellent article by Mr. Greenfield. I was impressed by the response of the bombers' uncle, Reslan, who sadly denounced what his nephews had done. He didn't start whining about hoping that people wouldn't blame all Muslims or even the family. No. He expressed sorrow about the VICTIMS, and even named them in a Today interview. He said he was ashamed of their actions. He said he didn't know how long the surviving bomber would live, but he said he hoped he would use the time remaining to seek forgiveness from the victims and their families for the suffering he has caused them. His comments were manly, compassionate, and truthful. I wish we heard more responses like this from the so-called "moderate" Muslim leadership than this mealy-mouthed self-pity, coupled with attempts to intimidate those who are suffering and rightly offended by these attacks on our way of life, our culture, our beliefs, and on people.

    • Jeff Bargholz

      Jack,

the terrorists' uncle deflected attention from the responsibilty of islam from their crimes and tried to blame it on their supposed failure to fit into society. He is a piece of $hit.

The victims were not muslims and it wasn’t a slaughter, but a natural disaster the Buddhists were helping with, but the muslims and their backers will blame the Buddhists. Notice they don’t display the Christians being slaughtered by the muslims. Could we get a world news network that actually printed the truth?
