No More Peace Solutions for Israel

Thomas Friedman, among many other columnists, is complaining that the so-called “Peace Process” isn’t a factor in the Israeli election. Neither is perpetual motion, the infinite money tree or anything else that doesn’t exist.

“Meanwhile, with a few exceptions, the dome and wall have so insulated the Israeli left and center from the effects of the Israeli occupation that their main candidates for the Jan. 22 elections — including those from Yitzhak Rabin’s old Labor Party — are not even offering peace ideas but simply conceding the right’s dominance on that issue and focusing on bringing down housing prices and school class sizes.”

Thomas Friedman, as usual, is wrong about everything.

1. Israel just went through a conflict which hit far harder and deeper inside the country than before. It has been a long time since Tel Aviv and Jerusalem were actually under fire. If anything the Israeli left is less motivated to push a peace program after that.

2. The Israeli left focused on social issues due to the advice of Clinton operative Stanley Greenberg. If Friedman wants to complain to anyone about the Labor Party’s focus on social issues, he can talk to his own buddies. Furthermore the social issues approach has worked to some extent. The Labor Party would be doing much worse on a peace platform.

3. What exactly is Friedman proposing?

Multiple columnists are complaining about a lack of “creative” peace solutions. What are those solutions exactly? More concessions and more negotiations?

Let’s be clear about a few things.

A. There is no single Palestinian political entity. There are two. Neither of which is viable. Hamas and Fatah are locked in a death struggle. Abbas of Fatah is refusing to run for election and is on the ninth year of a four-year term.

B. Hamas is bound to win. Hamas is more popular. It is stronger. And with the Muslim Brotherhood takeover, it has local backing.

C. Hamas will not reach a final peace deal with Israel.

So how are these peace proposals going to make the Palestinian Authority do what Arafat wouldn’t? How are they going to make it into a viable political entity that can win open elections? How are they going to overcome the new Cairo-Gaza alliance?

If something hasn’t worked for twenty years, the plan for making it work now has to take into account the reasons that it didn’t work. Friedman and his ilk never do. They just mumble something about settlements, negotiations and confidence building measures.

The Netanyahu strategy of peace with security has delivered neither peace nor security, but it has delivered more of both than Labor was able to. Most Israelis have accepted that peace isn’t coming and persuading them otherwise requires coming up with one hell of a creative solution.

One just have to make a cursory read ot the unholy Qur'an and keep abreast of current world events to realize that folks like Thomas Friedman, and other Middle East delusional dreamers, are out of touch with reality.

Reality check. There never will be peace with the tiny state of Israel, until every last Jew has been slaughtered, off the face of the earth. Why?…Because Allah and Muhammad have written it so, and is preached as such in mosques world wide…every devout Muslim are compelled to follow the hate filled Qur'an, or else!

    • Tosh

Delusional dreamer JacksonPearson reality is the Qur'an can not compete with your unholy books that you have written your self, one just have to make a cursory read of the unholy old Testament which is full of violence and evidence of both a violent society and a violent god.
In numerous Old Testament texts the power and glory of Israel's God is described in the language of violence.
More than one thousand passages refer to YHWH as acting violently or supporting the violence of humans and that more than one hundred passages involve divine commands to kill humans.

Wrong BOZO…You're the one that's lost, with his head in a very dingy and dark spot..

Since 610AD, Islam's/Muhammadism have slaughtered 270 million of earth.population. Islam have surpassed Stalin, Mao, Hitler…Comparability, the crusades, and Spanish inquisitions are but pimples on Muhammad's butt. .

For Sunni Muslims, the patriarch of Islamic terrorism is Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. He who was born in 1703 in the Arabian Peninsula and was a student of Ibn Taymiyah. Wahhabist Islam is known today as the most pure and authentic, and thus fundamental form of the religion. Muhammad Wahhab based his Islam on the Salaf, the earliest Muslim ancestors who were the Companions of Muhammad.

The Salaf brought them the Quran, the Sira, Tarikh, and Hadith – Islam's oldest and most authoritative sources. Since Muhammad said that Islam could not change, Wahhab taught that anything which was not officially mandated by Muhammad and Allah had no place in the religion. It is why Wahhabists call themselves "Salafists," and why they are the best, most authentic Muslims.

In direct contradiction to all who apply the "radical" label to the Islam of today's terrorists, the only way for Wahhab or Salaf Muslims to be practicing a corrupted version of Islam, is for Muhammad and his Companions to have gotten Islam wrong. And if that were true, the religion has no basis of any kind. The moment you come to grips with this simple, yet profound, truth, the connection between Islam and terror becomes clear.

Since Wahhabi and Salafi Islam are identical, and since Wahhabi Islam formed the foundation of all Sunni terrorist groups today, including the Islamic Group and al-Qaeda, a review of Salafism is in order. Salafi, or Ancestor, Islam (Submission) is the Islam of Muhammad
(Islam's lone prophet and Allah's singular voice). It is the Islam recorded in the Qur'an
(Recital from ar-Rahman and Allah as passed along exclusively by the Salaf who were Muhammad's Companions). It is the Islam recorded in the Hadith (Oral Reports from the Salaf regarding Muhammad's words and deeds). It is the Islam recorded in the Sira (Ishaq's Biography of Muhammad as it was conveyed through the Salaf). It is the Islam documented in the Ta'rikh (Tabari's History of Islam's Formation as it was lived by the Salaf).

Salafi Islam forms the basis of all Islamic nations and cultures. Salafi Islam provides the basis for Sharia Law – the most repressive and anti-democratic legal system in the world. All of Islam's rituals, pilgrimages, prayers, and festivals come from the Salaf. Without the Salaf – Muhammad's Companions – there is no Islam. The Qur'an itself is a salaf book. First recited by Muhammad starting around 610 CE, it was retained exclusively in the minds of the Salaf, the first generation of Muslims, Muhammad's Companions. They passed it on orally to the Successors, and they passed it on orally to the Successors' Successors. The first extant written copy of the Qur'an dates to the early 8th century, over 100 years, or four generations of salaf, after it was recited orally.

        Christianity. America's laws were based on God's Law, as written in the Bible. Her founding fathers (even those who were Deists and Unitarians) recognized God as Lord. Whether Christian or not, they believed in the inherent wisdom of His Word and built America's education and justice on its eternal principles. By God's grace, American prospered and enjoyed peace. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;

My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies." Psalm 18:1-3 But as time passed, power and prosperity led to apathy and compromise. In spite of God’s repeated warnings, people attributed America’s achievements to human intelligence rather than God’s grace.

Instead of thanking Him for His blessings, many ignored His Word, rejected His guidelines, and said, "I want to go my way… do my own thing!" "…when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses and dwell in them… your heart is lifted up and you forget the Lord your God. … you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gained me this wealth.’

"…if you by any means forget the Lord your God, and follow other gods… you shall surely perish. As the nations which the Lord destroys before you, so you shall perish, because you would not be obedient to the voice of the Lord your God." Deuteronomy 8:10-20

Like it or not, the Bible is thousands of years of historical facts written by the Word of God. You have nothing else to offer that's better. NOTHING….

John, the most passionate of the Savior’s disciples, composed these stirring words:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Whoever receives Him, He gives the right to become His children, even to those who believe in Him. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is no longer judged.”

Beat those Words, if you can?

        BTW, just a reminder.
I'm sure you know that Allah was Muhammad, Muhammad was Allah…One person in the Qur'an fits all.

PLEASE read psalm 83; especially you Ishmael-ites and Hagar-enes!

Friedman and his ilk all fit Einstein's definition of insanity.

Israel has made offer after offer after offer, and all of them have been rejected.

They have made concession after concession after concession and all have been greeted with violence.

Why should Israel bother? What Israel should do is annex Judea and Samaria, and Gaza and the Sinai, and push all the genocidal muslims in those places into Egypt and Syria. Then they should bulldoze the excrescence off the top of the hill in Jerusalem and build the Third Temple.

    • Tosh

Israel never intended to make peace.
If Israel makes peace it will not be able steal, Judea and Samaria, and Gaza and the Sinai

      • Daniel Greenfield

Egypt has the Sinai. Gaza is run by Hamas.

      • JacksonPearson

BS…you're a liar. You have it backwards!

Read the Qur'an. Ever since compiled in 820AD, the Qur'an has been a book of hate, death and destruction. Muhammad hated Jews and slaughtered them then. He wants Jews and Christians wiped off the face of the earth, and that's exactly what's being preached daily in mosques world wide. No other religion preaches that kind of hate, but Islam.

  • AdinaK

The "process of peace" is dead and buried. Thankfully.

There are other ways to get from here to there, at least if one is a true Zionist leader in Israel –

More than enough evidence to choke a horse.

The 'peace process' begun at Oslo is over. Finished. By his unilateral declaration at the UN, Abbas violated the most fundamental terms of Oslo and there is nothing left to talk to them about. As for Hamas, they are a violent self-declared genocidal enemy and deserved carpet-bombing certainly as much as did the cities of Nazi Germany

  • Ar'nun

There is one option for peace left. Eliminate the enemy. This plan has worked through out history every time it was tried. Throw the Palestinians out, secure the boarders, and any act of aggression, respond ten fold. It will take years but it will bring peace eventually.

    • Lady_Dr

      AMEN to that!

    • Adrian

Cant agree more. The quicker Israel gets on with it the better after the election. No point in anymore negotiations or talk fests. Time for action now as Hamas is only getting stronger and Morsi needs more time to tighten his hold on Egypt. Of course the left will go ape and will try sanctions etc. But the BDS campaign is already trying to do this.

The only solution to the Palestinian problem is to return the 90% of the West Bank to Jordan, and the Gaza strip to Egypt- as was the case before the 1967 war. Talk with the Palestinians is like spitting in the wind-useless.
