Obama, a tremendous disappointment. I remember when you first won the election in 2008. I didn't vote for you but I felt some "hope" and really did hope for "change". Truly, a major disappointment. You destroyed Libya, and I see you're still trying to destroy Syria. Why? You never should have run for President and should have just continued on as a university lecturer. Now, you're a mass murderer with a peace prize. The world's gone bonkers.

objectivefactsmatter asked me ....

"How do you keep jihadis in the middle east in check without being what Westerners will see as a "monster?"

Just want to know if I've missed something."

That is they asked how do you keep a monster like Gadadffi , the devil you know" while at the same time keeping the baying hounds of the MSM at bay.

I said "I do not know and I do not care".

1. My position is that is was better to leave Gaddaffi alone. He had not bother us for 8 years due to fear of Bush II & America. That is fact

2. What to do about the press? go to alternate media and let the LSM slowly hemorrhage to death due to lack of readership. Would i like a great battle in the press, a debate? Yes, where people wake up and en masse cancel subscriptions to the NYT and all the other drek.
but that won't happen. So I have no quick solution to the LSM other than to let it wither on the vine.

It is apparent that Obama has now forgotten that he was elected to be president of the United States. He was not elected to be president of Libya, Egypt, Syria or any other Arab country.

Instead of asking whether Libya would be better off if Ghaddafy were still in power, Obama should be asking whether America would be better off. And the answer to that question is unquestionably "yes". And there are many Libyans today who would probably agree with that.

Ghaddafy may have been a monster, but he was a largely secular monster who kept the peace and raised the level of prosperity in a highly volatile nation in the middle east. Now that he is gone, chaos reigns, and the Libyan people themselves are the ones who are suffering the most.

To m4253y

The simple gates test will suffice. The gates of which country are people storming? It ain't Libya.

Why are so intent on protecting Gaddaffi's legacy? I said him in power was in our interest. Someone else in Libya ruling might be better but that would be a crap
shoot as Obama has shown. So I said that it is better that he is in power even though he is a monster.

About the 1/3rd remark. As a rough cut analysis Libya is said to be made of two regions. I just mention the eastern one as being against him. There were plenty of people along the western coast that did not like him either.
I would be willing to be that 50+% to 80% did not like him.
I would figure the Cyrencia remark would be above argument.

Naomi Campbell? Kennedies? The Kennedys are leftists, totalitarians. The Kennedies are part of the American left (which is certifiably American) We have had socialism well entrenched in some intellectual circles since the 1880s and maybe a generation earlier.

While I would like to say the Kennedies do not represent America they represent a strain of it. but i take no responsibility for their idiocy.

When the Gadaffi's wife is throwing scalding water on their maid, when Gaddaffi is a serial rapist, he is a monster.

The people in a good 3rd of Libya, Cyrencia see Gadaffi as a monster.

If you want to see a monster in North America, then leave your domicile in Toronto and walk west to Misssisagua. We'll see how long you last.

'Obama...bombing his way to regime change. His actions resulted in the ethnic cleansing of Africans in Libya, the near Al Qaeda takeover of Mali and the permanent collapse of any meaningful authority in Libya...

Libya is now engulfed in civil war and bloodshed. Armed militias are running everything....'

The above is precisely what Muslim Brotherhood leader Obama, rabid Jew-hater-Samantha Power and Fascist Left billionaire George Soros wanted and achieved. They are now working on the exact same goal in Syria. How many nations' peoples have these humanity-haters targeted for death, destruction and suffering?

leadership, when viewed with glasses of varying 'degrees' of color will always be perceived by the optics of those 'degrees' as is the case with your perception of Qaddafi as a monster. now, assuming you are domiciled within the USA, looking inward, care to guess who is in fact the actual monster?

I don't know. I do not care.

Who is going to say someone is a monster? The press? they do not have credibility. Newsweek is being sold again.

The old media is dying. Sure the left has them on life support but they are dying.

Looking at what Beck is doing with the blaze, what Jerry Doyle is doing with epictimes.com and what Mike Savage is doing I wonder if we are seeing an at least 33% replacement of the old press.

I though hard about what i wrote about Gaddaffi. He was a monster. I have to wonder about how much people propped him up by not reading him the riot act. I am not talking about removing him from power but enabling his ego.

A school girl who was "kidnapped" and raped by Gaddaffi and used as a zex slave, related that so many Western women would voluntarily have zex with Gaddaffi and go out of their way to do so. Women of means back in the west. and they came out of the bedroom looking like the cat that ate the canary.

You gotta wonder how that fed his ego and made him worse if that was possible.

I think reading him the riot act would have made him somewhat less rapacious. Maybe resentful, but maybe it would have been a wakeup call.

Gaddaffi did remark something like this. "The west doesn't know these people, when/if I am gone they will be a problem for the west. "

and that was true. Look at Mali.

I really don't care about the LSM. they had better not need me to ever throw them a life preserver or the like. I figure I owe them that courtesy after what they have wrought.
