Obama Claims “We Made Sure Al Qaeda Can’t Attack Us Again” Right After They Attacked Us

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

Sometimes I wonder what color the sky is in Obama’s world. And he would probably answer that it’s the color of hope, of puppies and trillion dollar platinum coins. If you believe something that you made up, you can say it, and then blame your teleprompter when it turns out to be completely made up.

Four months ago, to the day, Al Qaeda carried out a successful attack on the Benghazi mission. They have taken over half of Mali and killed thousands in Nigeria. And they appear to be winning the civil war in Syria.

So this is the perfect time for Obama to announce that Al Qaeda has been defeated and can never attack us again.

“We achieved our central goal, which is — or have come very close to achieving our central goal — which is to de-capacitate al Qaeda, to dismantle them, to make sure that they can’t attack us again,” Obama said.

We achieved our goal or we didn’t achieve it, but we sorta almost achieved our goal of making sure Al Qaeda can’t attack us since the last time that they attacked us. That’s not counting the various “lone wolf” attacks at home, some of which are traceable to Al Qaeda.

The National Intelligence Council claimed last month that Al Qaeda would be gone by 2030. And in July, intelligence officials were claiming that Al Qaeda had relocated, rebuilt and was planning more attacks against America.

The militant organization that was once the scourge of the U.S. military campaign in Iraq and probably is responsible for more than 100 deaths in the country over the last few days has set its sights on launching attacks in the United States, intelligence officials said.

Al Qaeda in Iraq released a message this week that threatened to strike at the “heart” of the United States, and several associates of the group have been arrested in the U.S. and Canada in the last two years, said American officials, a sign that the organization has tried to establish a network in North America.

The arrests highlight “the potential threat posed to the United States” from Al Qaeda in Iraq, said Matthew Olsen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, during a hearing Wednesday before the House Homeland Security Committee examining the current threat from terrorism to the United States.

Two months later, Al Qaeda in Iraq was tied to the Benghazi attack. Its overall terrorist trajectory was sidelined by Syria, but that means its plans have been delayed, not cancelled.

But who are you going to believe: Obama or intelligence officials?

Tragically, at least one third of American voters would believe Obama.
Actually, I find that comical as well, considering the rabid idealogues I run up against whenever talking politics with one of his inevitably clueless and short-tempered supporters. Almost without exception they accuse me of watching Fox news or of not caring about women, or babies, or the poor, or democracy, or… of being racist.
Comical and tragic for America. I should add that probably about 40 percent of those who voted for Obama are NOT American… and neither is he!

If only Stanley Ann Dunham had the same reproductive rights as women today. For the 1,666 dollars that it costs planned parenthood to allow women to excersize those rights, it would have been well worth it.

LOL! that's the funniest thing I've read in a while. But so true. Pot-smoking slacker needs to go, before it's too late.

Americans died, Obama Lied and Rice was the glue to make it stick. It seems to have given Hitlery a Migraine as well.

Now they are trying to take our Gun rights away before the People find out what's really going on.

    Fundamental change=changing sides'.

How can you possibly claim to have defeated an enemy when you empower them politically and Militarily?

He told his family members to cool it

Every time I think I've heard the biggest lie ever…here comes another one. It seems he is NOT being briefed as well as we are. Egypt opened it's prisons and let 2000 of the worst jihadis out before Morsi took over…He was in jail too. Afghanistan just let loose jailed taliban. Zawahiri and his brother are still loose. Now they have expanded to all over Africa…Syria, Libya, Mali, Nigeria, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Pakistan, Indonesia, India. All funded by oil and drug money and the corrupt USA.

I DON'T THINK WE SHOULD LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THIS LIE.

He' the Master of Delusion. And some people are easily deluded. Just buy their loyalty.

  • figment newton

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if we are NOT attacked again, Terroristically speaking.

Why use the tactic of terrorism to overcome your enemy when you have already infiltrated into the highest places in office and government?

Welcome our jihadist overlords. when does the jizya start? Oh yeah, it already did: obamacare.

It is not over yet. I want it over, everyone does, but it is not yet. I tell you something after two ruined terms, Bush was not leaving this. We know they will end up in North Africa and it was outsourced to the French. When Obama started to ask the French for more troops he was told to stop for Afghanistan. Now they still had around 4000. The US is still bogged down in Afghanistan and there are other issues two wars for a combined period of 20 years recruiting from a single demographic and the cost fiscally. But some drones and JSOC is not offensive to ask for and it is not a lot to ask for during phase three. This is the end game, forget about domestic politics. I know the condition of the US military and the economy, that is the whole point with al-Qaida. Maybe 500 French troops for long range desert patrols, hit and run once al-Qaida was removed from the population centers clear and hold by ACOWAS and the Malian Army. Not 2500. That is Rice. She dribbles in his ear and probably will be NS adviser. Maybe 500 to 800 for phase three. The Legion only has around 7500 or whatever. France is a professional military now, but deaths are unpopular and who is al-Qaida's core really enemy the US of A. The French are not slaves and we are not taking advantage of them to do the US dirty work, this is a global war, this goes back to 2007 before the surge, friends, allies. Helping in the darkest days when we were under the pump.

I will add they have changed Presidents since 2007, they kept their word and like all good agreements, it was written in blood.
