Obama: “Ho Chi Mihn was Inspired by the United States Constitution”

janefonda_s640x425

Ho Chi Minh was a Communist terrorist. President Truong Tan Sang, whom Obama is trying to win over, is a leading Communist.

“We both reaffirmed the efforts that have been made to deal with war legacy issues.  We very much appreciate Vietnam’s continued cooperation as we try to recover our Missing in Action and those that were lost during the course of the war.  And I reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to work with Vietnam around some of the environmental and health issues that have continued, decades later, because of the war,” Obama said.

How nice.

“Finally, we agreed that one of the great sources of strength between our two countries is the Vietnamese American population that is here but obviously has continued strong ties to Vietnam,” Obama said.

Much of America’s Vietnamese population came here as refugees. It’s like claiming that the Cuban community bonds us to Castro.

“At the conclusion of the meeting, President Sang shared with me a copy of a letter sent by Ho Chi Minh to Harry Truman.  And we discussed the fact that Ho Chi Minh was actually inspired by the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the words of Thomas Jefferson.  Ho Chi Minh talks about his interest in cooperation with the United States.  And President Sang indicated that even if it’s 67 years later, it’s good that we’re still making progress,” Obama said.

The message to Truman came in 1946. By then Ho Chi Mihn had long been a dedicated Communist and Soviet agent. At the time the letter was sent, Ho Chi Mihn was murdering his political opponents while trying to wheedle Truman into helping him out.

The Vietnamese Declaration of Independence was indeed partly a cheap copy of the American Declaration of Independence in that it borrowed the format to issue a list of grievances against the French.

And the resemblance ends there. There was no commitment to internal freedom. Its sole real purpose was to kick out the French.

But good news. Obama will go to Vietnam according to President Sang.

“Last but not least, I also, on behalf of our government and our state, to extend to President Obama our invitation to visit Vietnam.  And President Obama has accepted our invitation and will try his best to pay a visit to Vietnam during his term.”

Maybe he can chant the left’s favorite, “Ho Ho Ho Chi Minh is going to win” chant while he’s there.

  • GSR

Is this a put-on? Are the Left really still enthralled with Ho and the North Viets? Omg……I’m too tired to show them the naive silliness of their ways.

  • OfficialPro

The Left <3 Commies. That's all there is to that.

    • objectivefactsmatter

They are commies. That ship sailed many decades ago.

  • Mark Jessup

That sick sack of fecal matter calling itself Barack Obama IS an effin’ Communist, he was mentored by Communists, and is working to advance the goals of the Communist Party. Senator Joe McCarthy warned America about the danger of Communist subversives, unfortunately not enough people were listening.

How about now? Can you hear Tailgunner Joe NOW?!?

    • WillyWallace

Fifty bucks he invites McCain who will accept. Heck, maybe invite Hanoi Jane as a tour guide.

      • JCS

How about Algore and John Kerry, the only 2 people who served honorably and heroically in Vietnam according to the mainstream media? Of course there was also Sen. Tom Harkin who had to admit he lied about serving in Vietnam which doesn’t mean he isn’t a war hero in the eyes of the media/dems.

  • Too sad.

He owns the present, so he owns the past, so he owns the future.

It was a harbinger of things to come when Jane Fonda wasn’t arrested and tried for treason.

    • objectivefactsmatter

The first great and awful harbinger was FDR’s recognition of the Soviet Union.

Along with willfully ignoring the Soviet spies in our government.

Well, yeah. It was a package deal. Who do you think orchestrated it? But most of the public didn’t see what was happening until he recognized the Soviet Union.

He didn’t cast the mass murdering dictator Ho Chi Minh as comparable to the U.S. founding fathers, right?

        • Marc Jordan

And neither did Obama. Obviously you hadn’t read the transcript.

            0′Bama:

“At the conclusion of the meeting, President Sang shared with me a copy of a letter sent by Ho Chi Minh to Harry Truman. And we discussed the fact that Ho Chi Minh was actually inspired by the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the words of Thomas Jefferson. Ho Chi Minh talks about his interest in cooperation with the United States. And President Sang indicated that even if it’s 67 years later, it’s good that we’re still making progress.”

Question: Who wrote the US Declaration of Independence?

Of course the sleazy politicians use weasel words designed to embolden enemies while retaining plausible deniability.

As I said elsewhere, it’s not that big of a deal on its own. The problem is that 0′Bama is clearly a crypto-communist in everything he says and does when he’s not working on advancing the interests of the jihadis of the Muslim Brotherhood. So it’s noteworthy and consistent with that observation but on its own, not that big a deal.

  • Omar

Why is our president doing this? Why is he trying to cozy up to a Communist dictatorship ? Ho Chi Minh was nowhere near as morally good as the Founding Fathers. The Founding Fathers, unlike Ho Chi Minh, were not Communist totalitarian dictators. The Founding Fathers created the first modern republic in history. While slavery still existed at the time of the creation of the United States, the American Revolution marked the beginning of the end of slavery. Within 90 years of the formation of the USA, slavery was abolished in the country with the ratification of the 13th Amendment in 1865.
Vietnam, on the other hand, remains a hellhole even after the end of the war in 1975. Ho Chi Minh was a cruel dictator who tried to completely silence opposition to his rule in North Vietnam during the war. The so-called “anti-war” protests in America and the free world were really supported and financed by Ho Chi Minh and his Vietcong minions who now rule the country with an iron fist. Unlike the Founding Fathers, Ho Chi Minh was a war criminal. There is no reason for anyone to celebrate him at all.

    • Chez

Given China’s rise and its territorial claims on the South China Sea, it makes perfect geo-political sense for the USA to solidify links to southeast Asian countries like Vietnam and the Philippines. Both of these countries have their own claims to the South China Sea and are impediments to China’s regional ambitions. Their cooperation is essential to preventing China from threatening the sea-lanes that Japan depends upon for its global trade. Japan is the linchpin of America’s Asia-Pacific strategy. Keeping such an important country from being pulled into China’s orbit requires diplomatic and military dexterity….and strengthening US ties to Vietnam is an important part of the equation.

      • objectivefactsmatter

“Keeping such an important country from being pulled into China’s orbit requires diplomatic and military dexterity….and strengthening US ties to Vietnam is an important part of the equation.”

Yeah, but it’s also a question of means as well as ends.

0′Bama is full of BS with his constant historical revisionism. It’s hard to know how much of his own BS he believes, but he promotes it constantly whether it is or isn’t possibly justified by diplomatic objectives.

It’s not like his socialist orientation only comes out when he’s trying to cozy up to failing communist nations. And we don’t need to kill our economy or lie about our history to flatter communist sensibilities.

You’re comment is not insane. There’s a degree of truth, but on balance I have to suggest that you’re giving 0′Bama the benefit of doubt that is not deserved.

        • Chez

My comment has nothing to do with Obama. My comment has to do with geo-politics and checking China’s rise through diplomatic and military stratagems,

          • objectivefactsmatter

“My comment has nothing to do with Obama.”

I agree. But you replied to a comment that began,”Why is our president doing this?”

            Not arguing, just explaining.

          • Chez

            Fair enough.

For the record, I have not one iota of affection for the prez….and I think my comments here over the years prove as much. But unlike some here, I don’t ascribe malevolence to every single utterance/action of his. He’s done many, many things that have been injurious to the USA, particularly regarding economic and social policy, but he’s done some things, such as getting us out of Iraq and preparing to get us out of Afghanistan, that were/are absolutely in our national interests (to hell with squandering American blood and treasure trying to civilize Islamic hellholes!).

Solidifying our relations with the countries of southeast Asia – including Vietnam – in order to facilitate a collective security against China’s rise should also be seen in a positive light. Just because it comes from Barry doesn’t NECESSARILY mean it’s bad policy.

Do you know why we called HCM a Ho?

1- He was chosen his name. Not many Vietnamese abandon their names no matter what.
2- Ho in Vietnamese fairy tales story that presenting the tod became an evil to became human and use every evil tactics to harm human.
3- How many million Vietnamese die due to Ho killed them and forced them to be a soldiers to invaded South Vietnam even the peace in Paris on 1973 said very clear that each side stay where its borders were, But Red Evil poured troops to killed and took over South Vietnam.

Someone remind this fool what happened in SE Asia after we pulled out, and how the left/dp/msm were tools for the soviet attempt to destroy us and the rest of the Western democracies. The bloodbath, the boat people(which really said it all about uncle ho’s creation), the deprivation, starvation, and oppression. His current SecState, Kerry, was off by a factor of a THOUSAND in his estimate of how many South Vietnamese would have to die or leave if the NVA conquered the RVN. It’s not like events, NVA Generals like Giap, and soviet archives didn’t prove it.

Never mind, he knows. His comrade bill ayers, hillary, the rest of the left, and him are working towards the same “And baby makes three,” scenario here.

The POTUS has made it his specialty to rewrite history as he pleases. Then again, it’s not like he came up with this BS on his own.

What a bunch of leftist losers.

  • Scott Koontz

I cannot believe that Obama actually stated facts and told us what was in a letter. How dare he! Bring back the POTUS who barfs on the leaders of other nations! Bring back the POTUS who lies us into war! But don’t ever tell the press what was discussed in a meeting, and heaven forbid you explain a written letter. Conservatives will get their collective panties in a gordian knot and start shouting “Karachi” (oh wait, that was Bush. They’d shout “Riyadh” (still not right. Oh yes…

BENGHAZI! Yes, that’s the tragedy we should shout.

      • Scott Koontz

Based on your linguistic prose, you appear to be a Conservative. Am I right? So why would you make yourself out to be French? Or were you trying to be German, Russian, Chinese? Hard to tell, because I think you are a typical Conservative who doesn’t understand the terms you throw around that, I believe, are meant to be an insult.

A more interesting bet would be that you’re a Christian Conservative. Am I right?

        • objectivefactsmatter

          “Am I right?”

          You are delusional.

  • LDMack

It’s like he is making old enemies friends and old friends enemies. Not sure I understand the principle behind this administration’s reasoning. Things that should have happened but did not:

Iraq – We should have grabbed Hussein and left leaving a note telling them to get it right the next time or else, and we should have made them pay for it.
Afghanistan – Run the Taliban out and left leaving a note telling them that if they ever came back; so would we, and contracted for some mineral rights.
Egypt – You don’t like our pick for your president? Pick your own and get your act together. Besides, a military coup doesn’t mean a disaster. South Korea did it and became a world class economy. And Egypt desperately needs an economic miracle.
Vietnam – When we’ve accounted for all of our MIA/KIA, then maybe we can talk. Maybe.
Syria – Stay out of Syria. Period. We don’t need them and we never did. Let them work out their own civil war. We did and it cost us over 600,000 lives.
Libya – Qaddafi was a nut case, but at least he held a sort of stabilizing effect. There is now no stabilization in Libya – Period. It is a no man’s land.

    Just a few observations IMHO.

    • objectivefactsmatter

I think there’s more to it than that, but you’re right about missed opportunities to show our American standards for law and order. Maybe because so few people even believe in law and order any more. They’re more concerned about “social justice” lies.

Truong Tan Sang said: “Shaking hand with uncle Sam, Vietnam won’t harm anybody”. He meant that the US used to be a big bully, a gringo; so that China has nothing to fear. I just don’t get it. Reading the comments here one would think that the U.S. should never fraternize with our former enemies. I wonder how many of those respondents drive Toyota’s and BMW’s.

Others have said that Obama is cozying up to the Vietnamese. Must I remind everyone here that Bush paid a visit to Vietnam in November, 2006?

And it’s not as if the U.S. hasn’t done business with other commie countries.

“I just don’t get it. Reading the comments here one would think that the U.S. should never fraternize with our former enemies.”

We’re critiquing his rhetoric, not his actions (in this case). And we’re pointing out that his rhetoric is consistent with his other historical revisionism that never ceases to come from his teleprompter and social media outlets.

“I wonder how many of those respondents drive Toyota’s and BMW’s.”

We never praised Japan’s emperor for his justifications for war.

“Others have said that Obama is cozying up to the Vietnamese. Must I remind everyone here that Bush paid a visit to Vietnam in November, 2006?”

It’s not the visit. It’s the rhetoric we object to. And at this point, we simply don’t trust him based on relevant history.

Do you have any video or transcripts actually showing 0′Bama promoting American values rather than repackaging America as a socialist country held back by “rednecks” aka “bitter clingers?”

Of course, Ho Chi Minh’s own words show how he saw himself in relation to our Constitution. Two-bit hack Daniel Greenfield can’t even spell “Ho Chi Minh” — what does that say?

  • Larry Linn

Ho Chi Minh was a very complex person, and a revolutionary, as were our founding fathers. When I was a common 11B in the field, we received paperback books to read. Along with several other soldiers in my platoon, I read one which I think was entitled “Ho Chi Minh, a Political Biography”. Thomas Jefferson was
referenced several times. At that time we realized that Vietnam was in a
complex civil war going back hundreds of years before the United States sent in
our military forces. Not only were there were conflicts between the North and
the South, but between the indigenous Montanards, the Buddhists were committing suicide by immolation in protest to the Catholic powers which ran the South out of Saigon, etc. When someone got ticked off about Ho’s inspiration from
Jefferson, a black guy in our squad reminded us that Jefferson was a slave
    owner.

  • Martin Scorsese

That POS meant the HE was inspired by Ho Chi Min! We have REAL Scandals and a PHONY President who is a raving Commie.
