Obama Sending Troops to Syrian Border “In Case of Military Action”

The Anti-War candidate started one war already in Libya. Now he just needs to start another one so he can qualify for a rare double Nobel Peace Prize.

In a critical indication of growing U.S. military involvement in the civil war in Syria, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has ordered the deployment of more American troops to Jordan.

He said the troops will work alongside Jordanian forces to “improve readiness and prepare for a number of scenarios.”

The troops, which will number up to 200, are from the headquarters of the 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, Texas, two Defense Department officials told CNN.

The deployment “creates an additional capability” beyond what has been there, one official said, and will give the United States the ability to “potentially form a joint task force for military operations, if ordered.”

The new deployment will include communications and intelligence specialists who will assist the Jordanians and “be ready for military action” if President Barack Obama were to order it, the official said. There have been several dozen American troops, mainly special forces, in Jordan for the past year assisting the Jordanians.

But that group has been very ad hoc, the official said. This new deployment makes the U.S. military presence more official and is the first formalized ongoing presence of an American military unit in the Kingdom in recent years.

If President McCain had done this sort of thing, the media would be screaming about the dangers of getting involved in another war and urging more negotiations with Saddam Assad. But that doesn’t apply here.

Libya wasn’t a war, even though it was a war. Benghazi was never tied to the disastrous decision to overthrow Gaddafi and replace him with Islamist militias. And there is just as little accountability here.

When Bush was just discussing Iraq, the anti-war machine went into gear. But Obama moving troops over to Jordan is no big deal. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Whatever little credibility the Nobel Peace Prize may of had in its entirety, it's gone. Obama put the final nail in the coffin.
Unfortunately the sad part is that our troops are in harms way without much of a whimper from anyone. Thanks for reporting.

God keep our troops well, and bring them home.

Miss Billson, the Nobel Committee would have given Obama the Nobel Peace Prize if he had just come from killing Osama bin Laden with his own two hands, and had his blood dripping from his fingers.

Barack Hussein Obama II has no authority whatsoever, as enumerated in the Constitution, to deploy our military into another countries internal affairs. Obama's clearly, usurping the Constitution…again!

  • truebearing

What treachery is he up to now? One way or another, we know that it has nothing to do with our nation's wellbeing.

"If President McCain had done this sort of thing,"

They would also be calling him a Saber rattling Neo Con War monger. But 200 troops??? Sounds like just enough to get slaughtered.

And notice Obozo seems concerned about Jordan, not the Syrian Rebel's obvious potential target, Israel.

Back in the Vietnam days, people of Obama's stripe used to get highly indignant about the U.S. getting inolved militarily in other nations' civil wars. They even beefed about it when Democrats were running the country.

So where are they now? Retired?
