Obama Shows Putin his Flexibility: European Missile Defense Cancelled

I just hope Vladimir appreciates Obama’s flexibility. It’s not a flexibility that Americans ever get to see. Just anti-American dictators. And it would only be gentlemanly for Vlad to leave Obama a tip in appreciation of his flexibility.

Barack Obama was caught on camera on Monday assuring outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev that he will have “more flexibility” to deal with contentious issues like missile defense after the U.S. presidential election.

“This is my last election … After my election I have more flexibility,” Obama said, expressing confidence that he would win a second term.

“I will transmit this information to Vladimir,” said Medvedev, Putin’s protégé and long considered number two in Moscow’s power structure.

And look at that, he did.

The Obama administration says it is abandoning a key part of its European missile defence plan – an interceptor that had been strongly opposed by Russia.

It cited development problems and a lack of money.

The cancellation of the interceptors, which were to be deployed in Poland and possibly Romania early next decade, offers a potential opening for new arms control talks.

Russian officials suspect the interceptors were a counter to their missiles and had indicated that they would not consider further nuclear arms cuts unless their concerns were resolved.

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced the cancellation on Friday as part of an overall restructuring of the missile defense plans aimed at stopping missiles from North Korea and Iran.

He made no reference to Russia’s objections in his announcement.

Friday is when announcements that you want to bury are made. Wrapping this in a supposed plan to counter North Korea disguises the second sellout of Poland and Eastern Europe.

Sadly however, Obama’s best bow to Russia has met with the usual response of tyrants to appeasement.

A change in the United States plans for an anti-missile shield in Europe will not prompt Russia to drop its opposition to the system, a senior lawmaker allied to President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday.

So much for Obama’s flexibility.

What do you expect from an American marxist President? Russia is the Shangra-la of commies, globalists always check with Russia/ China to see if what they are doing is OK!! Freedom lovers are always down the list of priorities to these self- proclaimed elites, who will sell us out to their totalitarian heros.

Barry is Putin's b**ch! This comes under the heading: Stabbing our allies in the back.

  • tarasbalderdash

Some people would call this flexibility. For others, it constitutes treason, and I don't use that term lightly. Removing the missile shield we have spent decades building so one of his fellow leftists can look favorably on him endangers the United States and her allies. The man has crossed the line.

Many have wondered what the Radical-in-Chief's off mic remark was about. I continually said that it would endanger Israel and assist Russia, but all in due time. Of course, Europe is also weakened, and the US will be too, but the present impetus is about Israel.
In any case, the fact that the Mid East has reverted back to Putin's hegemony, under the "watchful" eyes of the Pyromaniac-in-Chief, says it all. Not only that, but as the region is set to explode, he uses his own sequester tactic as a reason to remove ALL the heavy assets from the region! Pray tell, for whose benefit?

You know I think it is a great step. Look what Reagan and Gorbechov accomplished. People need to use their intelligence and think about the future.

    • Rifleman

Reagan got what he wanted without sacrificing SDI. Hussein played SDI, one of our strongest cards, and got nothing in return. Now tell us how that crap sandwich is really barbeque.

Of course the obamessiah is flexible, he can bend over and grab his ankles whilst keeping his knees straight

he's so flexible he can stick his head inside his own arse

Things will be much more clear after Obama eliminates Iran's nuclear weapons and ICBM programs "root and branch" by overwhelming pre-emptive strike without losing a single American life. Will the neocons like that? Of course not. It won't cost very much money, and without the steady pumping of trillions of American dollars for neocons to waste on hopeless foreign wars and weapon systems that are totally unnecessary to America's defense, the neocons won't be able to give their political puppets in Washington quite so much money.

Mr. Obuma stop showing you have no backbone. Learn from your predecessors. The USA used to be the most powerful country in the world. Today we are a shadow of ourselves. The list of leaders that run over us is too long a list to write here. They are all laughing at us. You should be ashamed of yourself as the "leader" of the USA. At least I am ashamed.

    • kasandra

You've got him all wrong. He's not ashamed of himself. He's proud of himself. He wanted to fundamentally transform this country into a poorer, weaker, less influential, more egalitarian (in result), less independent and less sovereign country and he's doing it. And he's doing it all while being idolized by the press and a large portion of the public (who just reelected him) who either don't have a clue about what he's up to or who do or support it.

      • kasandra

My bad. I meant to write, "what he's up to or who do and support it."

If the USSR had tovarich O'bama in the White House instead of Reagan, Noam Chomsky would be the first commissar of the SSR of New York, by now…

Russia may not like our interceptors, but all I can say is that the Missile Commander's wife up in Alaska sure is a hottie. Check it: http://www.armytimes.com/news/2012/09/army-pinup-

President Obama is a Communist traitor. Why does Vladimir Putin object to anti-missile defences in Poland and Romania? What design does he have on them?
